He'll happily chatter dadadadadadadada in normal, everyday speech, but mumumumumumumum only gets broken out when he's upset/wants rescuing. LOL

Any luck getting W back to sleep?

princessProudmel · 19/07/2010 20:32

Hello evryone

Sorry you've had a tough day socut. I do think babies get frustrated when they are at the pre-moving stage. Somehow they know that the next step is moving and they really want to be able to do it!!
F doesn't seem to have tantrums. He cries when he is tired but that's about it.
If he ever doesn't want to sleep at nap time (sometimes I take him up to bed and he just laughs/sings etc) I just give up and bring him down to play for a bit longer, then try later. I did the battles with ds1 and just don't bother anymore. If for some reason he wouldn't sleep but was upset I'd go in the car or for a walk with the pram. Could you try that?

As for the cat nap thingy. Oh YES. With all babies I've ever met (through nannying, my own etc)just a teeny 5 min sleep on the way back from somewhere can affect their sleep. !!!

feeds F still bf a lot in the day (and night at the mo). Quite a lot of them I offer as I am concious of the fact that milk is meant to be his main source of nourishment. And he doesn't eat much breakfast(if any brekkie). Does ok at lunch and dinner.
Today he had some bits of my tuna sandwich, dried pineapple and half a banana at lunch. Then a bit of pizza, carrots and blueberries and strawberries at dinner. He sucked a few parsnips from yesterday too.

Hi Fidelma I love caravan holidays!!! But not taken F yet...I prefer it once they all sleep through.

How are you feeling HC????

Scout19075 · 19/07/2010 20:33

Oh, meant to say, I got S's taster sessions at nursery all set up. We're actually going to do them the Monday & Tuesday before I start treatment, which is a Wednesday and he starts the nursery on the Thursday. The girl on the phone sounded really nice and very knowledgeable not only of the process but of my situation and was understanding/flexible/willing to work with us. Makes me feel a little bit better as I was starting to get upset at the thought of putting Seb there for six/seven days.

princessProudmel · 19/07/2010 20:34

Oh and no words here. Just babbling.

Oh and F is cruising a bit now! And getting faster at crawling. He crawled all round the house earlier!! Got stuck under the dining room table though!

Scout19075 · 19/07/2010 20:38

Usually a 5-10 minute catnap in the car doesn't affect him but for some reason today it did. I did keep bringing him down to play, but he was so frustrated at not being able to move and being so tired he just became cranky baby. Not a tantrum in the true sense of the word, but nothing he was doing was right, nothing I was doing was right. The bath made him happy, as he loves his bath.

Igglybuff · 19/07/2010 21:12

William just needed to burp - went straight back to sleep. He has trouble with burps still. scout glad to hear the bath helped. Here's hoping tomorrow is better. I hope the nursery goes well - I can only imagine how hard it'll be when it's full time.

princess lol at F getting stuck. William has learned that he needs to duck to get under something things but I was chuckling watching him trying to duck and get under the sofa He was also trying to use his walker for the first time - he's not been bothered before. However it moves to fast for him!

I'm in bed now. W's nights have been terrible. My neighbour who's DS is a few days older is sleeping through now. I can't look at her for envy

fidelma · 19/07/2010 22:08

No sleeping in the car allowed unless it is nap time We sing ,put the windows down,dc keep him awake until we get home and into bed for a nap/bed.Hard going but often worth it as long as you don't crash the car.Obviously depends on how long the journey is.

Scout19075 · 19/07/2010 22:33

I can't do that as S is an only and I'm usually the only other person in the car. And to be fair, it was around 2 p.m. when we were coming back from Guide village and that is around naptime.

Scout19075 · 20/07/2010 10:14

Last swimming session of term. But we did register to do swimming again in the autumn term.

HumphreysCorner · 20/07/2010 11:37

Hi all

Been to get some more AD's from the Drs. He said my mood should be lifted and stay lifted by about 6 weeks. Only at week 3 so there is still time for improvement.

Matthew is feeding 4 or 5 times a day and once or twice a night. Am leaking again, stopped wearing pads ages ago.

Had my BF peer counsellor graduation party yesterday. It was soooo hot though and the blackfly were a nuisance. We are still going to meet every Friday starting in September.

Last day of term tomorrow then our caravan holiday is in 3 weeks.

Hope everyone is OK.

HC

Have loved the holidays so far however please could they go back for a week so I can rest !

School is a wonderful invention.

princessProudmel · 21/07/2010 14:10

Hi all

So far today F has tried to eat the coals from the fire, the cat food and the dustpan and brush.

I am going around picking bits up all the time! It's making me have to do tidying up!! arrgh!!

Hope you feel better soon F and HC. I had a sore throat thingy last week and it was not nice.

Igglybuff · 21/07/2010 17:14

Just a quick one as am off out tonight

princess that's exactly what it's like with William. Nightmare! He's started going in cupboards now and pulling everything out.

fidelma get well soon!

HC so you've finished the BF course now, that's great! I hope the tiredness has worn off from the ADs?

scout I'm thinking of doing swimming with W but the lessons are at 9am... Do you think it's worth going having not done lessons?

Anyway, waves to all and enjoy the sunshine

My god Ive got on this bloody thing at last! Have gotten Netbook & it wont let me look back at the thread, Im just glad ive gotten on at all now what have I missed????

Hope you are all well & the wee ones are doing great.

Faith sounds so far behind everyone else. She still cant crawl etc, has now started eating very soft finger foods, but still has to eat her foods puree'd. Not going to worry about it all, she will do it when ready. She does shout NO at everyone

New house is great, and Ethan is getting on so well at new school. He is going to be going to a workshop for ASD soon, so he is getting loads of help over here. Was strange having DH living in Germany but Im loving having my own space most of the time now Plus the house seems to stay cleaner!

Not much else has happened. Oh....AF appeared, 6 wks late! Must of been all the stress. Holiday only 3 weeks away, cant wait!

xx

fidelma · 21/07/2010 22:12

Great to hear from you Littlepea I am glad the move went well. You sound happy x

Scout19075 · 21/07/2010 22:28

Getting a bit nervous -- two weeks today until I start treatment. Also sounds like I might be missing some fun activities/events with S because he'll be in nursery.

fidelma · 21/07/2010 22:49

Scout you are doing the right thing.Don't worry we will all support you.Hugs x

Igglybuff · 22/07/2010 07:13

Hello littlepea! Glad to hear from you Glad to hear E is getting the support he needs.

scout on a positive note at least S will be having a great time although you wont be there. You'll have to make sure the nursery staff take loads and loads of pictures for you. Perhaps they can give you regular updates too. Will they take any video for you? Hopefully this will help the time go by a bit faster.

Speaking of AF, mine seems to have disappeared. No I'm not pregnant (I have tested about 50 times ) but wondering what's going on!

OP posts:
littlepea72 · 22/07/2010 07:45

Oh Scout Im sure they would take video shots off him, at least you could see what he is up to. Big big hugs to you....

Iggly I must of went through the N Ireland suply off P tests! The doctor did a blood test & that put my mind at rest lol. How late are you?

Igglybuff · 22/07/2010 08:19

littlepea I've not had a period for a few months. I hadn't been regular (although was before William) so thought it was my body just sorting itself out. As I'm still BF, I wondered if that was messing things up? I'll speak to the doctor though - good idea.

HappyTangerine · 22/07/2010 11:57

I have been ill with d & v all week (passed on from dh who had it at the weekend) and this is the first time I've felt like myself in days. The cramps were worse than labour and v similar to when my appendix burst, truly scary. Dh had to take time off work and I feel like I've missed so much with Joe . No interest in crawling anymore, its all standing and frustration that he can't walk. He's feeding v erratically, not sure if its a consequence of the d & v or we need to re-learn the latch due to the new teeth.

Scout Big hug, you are doing the right thing. Seb will have lots of new tricks to show you and you will be on the mend in no time.

Big wave to everyone else. dh back at work now and I feel quite wibbly so having a bit of a babymoon today.

Igglybuff · 22/07/2010 12:12

HT I hope you recover quickly. That sounds horrid. As for Joe - can you give him a chair or box to push around whilst standing? That's what William likes doing as his walker is a bit too fast for him!

princessProudmel · 22/07/2010 20:31

How are you feeling now HT ?? Hope you're feeling better.
I have been sneezing all day. We had a terrible night last night. F woke screaming at 10ish and then cried/coughed/was tring to cough up flem till midnight. Then after he got some up and out he slept. But kept waking and coughing and feeding. I felt AWFUL this morning. He slept till 9.40am . I got a friend to do the school run. Then he slept from 11.30 till 3 when I had to wake him to do the pick up. Here's hoping we have a better night tonight.

F got the John Lewis job. Next week, over 2 days Not sure where it is yet. Hope it's not too hard to get too.
