I had in my head that Seb only had about four stuffies but gathering them all up today he has about eight or nine. Ted and Bun both live in his cot, but I know if/when one of them goes for a wash it's going to be a day-long process as I seem to have the world's slowest washer/dryer. (Hate the stupid thing, to be honest, but am grateful for it cuz it's better than shleping into town to the laundromat.)

Isn't wanting what the other has part of being sisters? Though I agree, I'd do whatever I could to avoid the arguement in Tesco! My birthday is turning into a big minefield! lol

I think fidelma is in a caravan somewhere....

princessProudmel · 15/07/2010 18:48

Hello

HT I hope you're feeling better {hugs}
F has banged his head loads of times. I cannot be helped what with all the pulling up, crawling etc.

Hope the root canal goes ok.

HC glad you are feeling perkier. ds1 and dd agrue over silly things like toothbrushes too

scout F has one cuddly polar bear. (organic, stuffed with stuffing from sustainable trees and hypoalergenic!!) I don't let him have it in bed as he chews and laughs at him and stimulates him too much. He cuddles/grips a muslin when he sleeps.
Maybe when he's older. He has a few others that were gifts on his shelves in his room. The other dc's have thousands. I keep them in those pop up netting storage bins.

CF OOOh have a fab time. I hope you cope ok for 4 days without A

rubgy Hi!!

iggly (hugs) to you too. All these things seem so bad at the time, but they all pass in time. F has been waking too. Last night was 3 times. I was shattered. I think I'm coming down with a virus or something too. Have felt fuzzy, headachey and sore throaty all day
Deffo no days off when you're a mummy.

It was ds1's school play today. He was an Alien. F was transfixed! Loved the singing and clapped when all the parents did.

Oh yes, how could I forget... F can crawl!!!!!!!! He did it on tuesday for the first time!! Loads of pulling up on the sofa, footstall, cofee table too He enjoyed the baby area in the soft play today ( I took the dc's after school despite feeling awful!)

Hope you're all ok

Igglybuff · 15/07/2010 18:50

Thanks HC. Haha the next one. Mmmm. I don't know how I'd cope.

scout why don't you make special things for your lot and buy some generic bits for the others? That way everyone gets something but you give a special treat to your girlies? They would understand surely??

calypso great news on the WHO charts. I printed them out as was worried about W when he lost weight but he's fine. Although he's not eating much solid food though.

How are the other babies getting on with solids? William really doesn't each huge quantities and still BF feeds loads. He likes to self feed but gets bored quickly - his new trick is throwing the food on the floor then checking where it lands. Or wearing the bowl as a hat

meet up - I can do most weekdays if that suits? Who else apart from me and scout?

You all live too far away from me. Boo hoo.

Scout19075 · 15/07/2010 22:07

What area/region are you in, HC?

Scout19075 · 16/07/2010 07:24

I am a bad, bad Mommy. I refused to get a certain young one up and out of bed and ready for the day when he started chattering/kicking/whatever at the silly hour of 5:15. He's gone back to sleep (by about 6:20/6:30). I checked on him, made sure he was okay, and didn't let him wail the house down, but I did let him do some of his "I'm really tired" whimpers.

Bad Mommy! (Bliss at sleeping baby!)

Igglybuff · 16/07/2010 07:27

just checked this morning - X post with princess. I hope you get better soon. And for F crawling!!

scout I should try that - however if I ignore W at 5am he yells the place down. Drives me mad!

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 16/07/2010 07:51

Doesn't always work, Iggly but today I seem to have gotten him to go back to sleep for another 90 minutes. I think I hear him playing upstairs now but since he's happy I'm not going to rescue him for another couple of minutes. Hoping this puts him back more towards his "normal" routine/schedule and that means we can go to the library for the baby/tots singing and story time.

Igglybuff · 16/07/2010 08:09

Sounds like a Good Plan scout! I think William is super grumpy so he wants attention all the time he's awake to distract him. The top front two are taking forever to come through - I can see the white but have seen it now for days. The bottom two were a lot faster.

Scout-I am in Lincolnshire, South of the Humber Bridge.

Clever F princessmel, Matthew is very nearly there.

So why is Matthew waking up crying at 3am every morning? Will it be his teething? Feed him and he does go back to sleep luckily. I have an ulcerated throat which is dreadfully painful. Wondered why it was so sore and when I looked I have lots of ulcers on the back of my throat.

M asleep in the car so need to check on him again.

Laters!

Thank you lovely ladies, feeling a bit better today. Root canal was a bit grim after such a rough night so dh took the day off yesterday.I had stayed up all night with J sleeping and feeding in my arms so did a lot of sleeping yesterday but far less crying . Joe is a bit better, not gnawing on his hand as much and suddenly feeding fine again so nursing strike seems over for now. I think me wandering about the house topless helped! He slept badly again last night, its definately the teeth.

I'm enjoying reading about all the clever crawling and standing babies

HC and PP Feel for you being ill, hope you both feel better soon.HC Sounds like M is teething. I'm finding ibruprofen better than calpol, seems to last longer.

Scout Wish I could make it down there to give you a hug before your treatment starts but I'm too am far away V impressed at S going back to sleep like that, Joe would protest, loudly!

Iggly How are things for you now-better I hope. I also had a teary conversation with dh this week where I said no more children, ever. Its so hard sometimes isn't it? We are away in the Lake District the same week as you so would love to meet up, definately.

Calypso Have a fantastic time, your PhD sounds so interesting.

Rugbylovingmum Good luck with the move this weekend, your new home sounds lovely-all that space (am also in a rented shoebox!)

Igglybuff · 16/07/2010 19:27

Excellent HT, we can arrange via facebook if easier? We might go up for two weeks now - we've booked one week but the place is available the week before.
Things are better as I went to bed at half 7 and DH did a lot more resettling so I got a bit more (albeit broken) sleep. W's front tooth is almost through and I've given him some ibuprofen stuff so hope that will work better. He is really tired too, poor thing and passed out on the boob half an hour ago. Lets see how long he'll last Glad to hear the nursing strike is over and I hope the neighbours didn't spot you

HC I have a farmer friend who lives in that part of the world. We've been there and it was lovely.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 16/07/2010 21:29

HT - root canal yuk.

DD is eating a lot better since I was last on and is sleeping til 6.30/7am in her own room now.

Scout - We went through the phase of her having a wail at 5am but I was awake more than her and it soon passed.

She has 2 bottom teeth through and the top ones are nearly there. Am down to 2 breast feeds a day but thinking about dropping the morning one (but it does make life sooo much more easy eh?).

fidelma · 17/07/2010 20:25

I am here.

Hello to you all.

Went away in a caravan the children loved it but we wont be doing that again !!! (sorry if you love it )Far to much work with 4 smalls

Internet and phone lines have been down for a week as a tree fell down. (happy scottish holidays)

Had to get another holiday cottage ready. Our best friends have moved in for 8 weeks while their house build is being finnished (it should be on grand designs)[gasp]however it is then avalible to rent lovely wee 3 bed cottage with amazing views. (right behind our house) So much fun for my 4 children and their 3.
7 is soooooo easy NOT !!!!!They are having a blast.

I have read some threads.Scout when do you start your treatment?
I am an only one and I have a fantastic relationship with my parents.

HC you sound happy

Have you heard from littlepea?

Connor is fast on the move.In his own way.He moves backwards, bum shuffles slowly ,goes from lying to sitting, pulling himself up (if it is not too high)
He has about 10 words [gasp](well he has alot to keep up with !)
Mama,dog,deorda (Georgia dd1),clock,car,get it,lawa (Lara dd2)and some others.He sleeps from 7pm -5am then back until 7am aprox.Thats ok for me.

I am so sad that he is growing up,I know how fast it goes.If I could freeze time for all my dc I would freeze it right now. 10,8 almost 5 and 9months Bliss.I will always remember this time.

Please all tell me your news.

Igglybuff · 19/07/2010 07:44

hi fidelma good to hear from you. Wow all that talking from Connor! William just says baa/daa at certain things but no proper words. He's also getting the hang of standing up and loves picture books. I've had to start going to the library every week to get him new ones.

HMHB I'm envious of you dropping the feeds. William still has 5 or so over 24 hour period. He doesn't take much in the way of solid food even when he hasn't had milk in a few hours - not sure why. Could be teeth as the top ones are almost through. I'm stuck as no dairy, no soya, no tomatoes or other acidic fruit. He also is bored of breakfast!

Speaking of teeth - now that one top one has broken through, William likes to grind it against the bottom one

Hope everyone is well!

OP posts:
fidelma · 19/07/2010 10:33

I still feed Connor at least 5 times a day !

He has a bad cold

Igglybuff · 19/07/2010 12:30

Poor Connor glad to hear though I'm not the only one feeding loads still. I keep thinking I must be doing it wrong. William does eat food, just never huge amounts (well he eats a lot for dinner but not breakfast and prefers to play with his lunch)

OP posts:
HappyTangerine · 19/07/2010 13:17

Iggly I am also still feeding loads at least 4 times in the day and 2-3 times overnight (still co-sleeping). Joseph's latest thing is to lift up my top, whip the nursing bra out of the way and have a quick suck! Interesting when we're visiting family . He likes to be on my hip if we're walking about but keeps flipping over to try and feed through my t shirt(much to dh's embarrassment )

Welcome back fidelma, glad you had a good break. We missed you . Get well soon Connor {hug}.

Igglybuff · 19/07/2010 13:55

HT that made me chuckle!! Joe demanding snacks like that. He's clever! Yes W feeds a fair bit at night and it's tiring as he sleeps in his own room. We do have a single sofa bed in there now so spend a fair bit of the night with him. I had a bad night last night - he fed, put him in the cot, he wouldn't go back to sleep but I couldn't face rocking at 2am. So walked out to calm down but he fell asleep after 5 minutes of light grizzling I'm also trying to get him to take all of his naps in his cot - setting myself up for failure really.

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 19/07/2010 16:49

I am slowly...losing...the...plot.

AAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

Okay, slightly better. Thank you, ladies. (I hope you realize that wasn't aimed at you, just needed to be done.)

Igglybuff · 19/07/2010 18:00

Lol scout what's up?

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 19/07/2010 18:32

Just a bad afternoon with S. ARGH! Don't think it's teeth as he's not showing any of those signs and the usual teething tricks aren't working. Think part of it he's just so frustrated being a baby and not being able to move where he wants to go. And he's so dang tired and just refused to nap all afternoon and is fighting it now for bedtime. It's times like these I feel very single-parentish (DH out of the house from 6:30 until after 8:00 most nights) and very alone and wish I had more help. I can't walk outside for a breath of air and a count to 5 because there's no one in the house.

Igglybuff · 19/07/2010 19:10

can you put Seb in the cot for a few mins? That's what I do.

W is like this with me - but all smiles for everyone else.

How many naps is Seb having a day? William recently dropped to two naps but it took a couple of weeks where he'd fight the afternoon some days, other days he'd need it.

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 19/07/2010 19:19

That's where he was -- the cot.

I tend to bear the brunt of S's bad moods/tempers/fighting. I accept that as Mom, but it's soooo wearing!!

Seb has about two, sometimes (rarely) three. They seem to have shifted recently, and I think it's a combination weather, light, teeth, more active. He has a morning one and an afternoon one. He can skip the morning one and be okay, but if the afternoon one goes for whatever reason he's as grumpy as all get out. He seemed to think the 10 minute catnap in the car on the way home from the school (where we do Guides) was a power nap and he could play/stand/dance all afternoon. Mommy knew better but Sebby fought it tooth and nail.

He's finally asleep after one final, good long and loud wail of "MMMmmmmumumumummmmm!!!!" which said "I don't want to be in my cot!!!! Get me out!!!! But I'm soooooo tired but rescue me from my cot!!!!!"

(He only ever calls mumumumumumum when he wants rescuing from his cot or when he falls over and wants a cuddle.

Igglybuff · 19/07/2010 19:38

Bless him!!! William does the mumumumumumum thing too. Well I hope you have a good night tonight. W has just woken up crying after being asleep for 45 mins
