Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AprilMeadow · 08/06/2010 10:00

Lucy is much brighter this morning thank you. The AB's seem to be working already as her temp has come right down. She slept in with us last night (2nd time EVER) and woke twice so not too bad. When she coughs she puts her hands on her ears so they are obviously sore poor little thing. I think Sunday was the peak of it all.

Hope the puke does stay away x

ShowOfHands · 08/06/2010 10:23

Oh I saw the lovely pics of her (and you AM, I LOVE your hair colour atm) at the touring cars. Glad she's on the mend. Ear infections are so miserable.

Just read the how much harder it is going from 1 to 2 thread. Had almost decided I wasn't completely against having a 2nd. Sounds awful. However did you all manage?

JamInMyWellies · 08/06/2010 10:31

He is a wee bit brighter today. Still dreadfully spotty with lots more arriving by the hour. His face is a mess. Eyes are all swollen as there are so many of them. But he slept well and have managed to get him down for a nap.

In laws are coming over in a bit to watch him so I can take A to his swimming lesson. The boy who hates the pool has finally decided floating with armbands and not screaching all teh time is fun. Thank god!

AM glad to hear L is a bit better she is such a gorgeous wee thing cant wait for a squidge.

Eliki sorry to hear about your mum good to hear she is responding well to treatment.

MrsJB has your hangover subsided?

AprilMeadow · 08/06/2010 10:43

She does look very cute in her waving picture (my profile pic). She is such a funny, happy wee thing. Why thank you very much! I just got them to throw a few highlights in to brighten it up as was FED up with being dark. Also looks better as i'm growing it.

You MUST come to Snetterton again - that is if it wasnt too boring this last year! We are there 7/8th August and have a motorhome or 5th wheeler to camp out in again.

Ella is a fan of the water as well Jam, they look so cute just floating around splashing. Glad L had a good night, at least the weather has cooled down, so that must help loads.

AprilMeadow · 09/06/2010 09:14

How are all the poorly babies doing today?

Lucy is much better and has gone back to nursery.

I think this week will be the last where I am still bfing Lucy only has a feed in the morning now and at night if she wakes, but last night there wasnt really anything there for her so ended up making a bottle for her at 4.30am. Feeling quite sad about it BUT am chuffed that i have made it to 8.5mths. I think it was 7.5 with Ella.

AprilMeadow · 09/06/2010 12:49

helllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooo

charleymouse · 09/06/2010 13:26

Hello AM, you should feel proud of how well you have done with L. Feels sad for it to finish though doesn't it?

Hope everyones littlies are feeling better. Jam can't believe how many spots there are.

Hows the sock knitting going SOH?

MJB how's the head?

TMAM Ice Age a favourite here to.

Sorry to hear about your Mum Elkie, even though hopefully she will be okay it is rough watching someone go through the treatment.

Got to dash DD1 stopped at Grannys and just got call she wants to come home.

JamInMyWellies · 09/06/2010 13:42

Well done for getting to 8.5mth AM.

Shmoks is on the mend hurrah. God its a hideous infection but at least once it start to get better there is a fairly rapid recovery.

Tillyscoutsmum · 09/06/2010 14:16

AM - well done on getting to 8.5 months. I stopped feeding Ferg a couple of weeks ago. I was so sad because I wanted to get to 6 or 7 months but he's just such a monster that I was really struggling to keep up with him. I know I could have stuck at it if he were my first but it just really wasn't practical whilst trying to look at Tils as well To be fair, he seems so much happier to be on bottles and now some food.

Jam - glad shmoks is on the mend. Tils had it really badly at 8 months but it was 4 days of hell and by day 6, she was absolutely fine.

Sorry to hear about your mum Elkie

Gin - hope the bug has finished with your lot

Hi to everyone else x

AprilMeadow · 09/06/2010 14:59

I always said that I wouldnt put a time limit on it but would know when the time was right to say 'thats it'. I've done it gradually so wont be in any discomfort.. I guess one of the up sides is that i can look forward to wearing my rigby & peller bra's that i treated myself to, only to fall pg 2mths later! Please god dont let me go any smaller than i was prior to children lol

Jam, so pleased to hear that L is on the mend

Pebblemum · 09/06/2010 23:25

AM i wish id managed to breastfeed as long as you, especially with D but he was such a hungry monster it wasnt practical, Id have been lucky to get half hours peace between feeds lol.

Im glad theres some light at the end of the tunnel for the spotty LO's. My friend has just returned from Spain and was looking forward to sending her son to school only to discover on Sunday he had a few spots, by the next morning he was covered, he even has them inside his eyelids so the dr is keeping an eye on him, if they get any worse he may have to be admitted. At the moment its starting to look as if he has black eyes, poor thing

D had a very high temp during our last day in France, gave him calpol and sat in the pool with him to try to cool him down where he promptly fell asleep in my arms much to the delight of the others in the pool. He was bad all night and again on the long journey home but apart from the temp there didnt seem to be anything else wrong with him. By Sunday he was fine. Now A seems to be going through it. She started getting a temp yesterday and was not her usual self, I kept her dosed up on calpol but she is still the same today. now and again she perks up a bit but then just as quick she goes downhill again. I know she isnt right because she has turned her nose up at sweets, cakes etc as well as usual food. The only thing she has really eaten since breakfast is a ice cream that she ate on the way to collect E from school. She is very ratty and one minute complains of tummy ache, then her leg hurts, then something else, its as if she cant make up her mind whats up either. To top it off E had an upset stomach at school. Im keeping my fingers crossed that whatever this is, its all over with by the weekend as im off to London on Sunday to watch Bon Jovi and then on Monday im shopping all day before coming home to what is more then likely going to be bedlam. Ive been looking forward to this for so long (although i wish i had been rich enough to get the VIP tickets )

Tillyscoutsmum · 10/06/2010 08:55

How are all the poorly lo's ?? On the mend ? Or are you all hiding under duvets with a bottle of gin and a huge bar of galaxy ?

JamInMyWellies · 10/06/2010 09:14

Gin & Galaxy sounds good.

Much better today amazing how quickly they scab he is about 95% scabby.

But poor old Archie's postponed because of his pox b-day party rearranged for this Sat is turning into a wash out. Its only a few friends and family but most of the friends are staying away because of the pox. My family are being their usual rubbish selfs and it looks like only my parents will turn up from my side.

Oh and remember the absoloute whoha over our eloping you didnt let us attend yada yada. Well lo and behold my sister told me he DP will not be coming as he has decided to go away for the wkend with his mates. Honestly am only having the ruddy party to please them all.

Pebble hope oyur LO's feel better soon.

Themasterandmargaritas · 10/06/2010 10:05

Thank goodness for that Jammy. How is the puke Gin? How is the gorgeous L April? I can't wait to meet her and ALL the new babies.

Sorry about the crappy family Jam. Sometimes being far away from them has it's benefits in that everyone makes an effort when we are back....

Am trying to find myself a job. How difficult is it?

Not long now til my big run, if anyone has a few pennies to spare my mad people at the clinic would be delighted to benefit here.

largeginandtonic · 10/06/2010 14:09

No more puke. Phew.

Pebble mine and the whole street tbh have had that weird temp/under the weather thing.Blue was 3-4 days of it. The others just 24/48hr. Bizzare.

Have fun with Jon Bon Jovi

Jammy thank goodness the boy is better. It is such a relief when it goes. Poor A with his party. Family is v odd sometimes

AM L all better?

TMAM not long to go now! Wahoooooo.

Am tired. 2 late nights and i've had it. Am getting old and grumpy with it. I used to be able to stay up till 12. What is wrong with me?

Gin and galaxy...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

TMAM, have made my donation x

LG&T, great news re the lack of vom!

Lucy is a lot better thank you and even slept through until 3.30am!! She has been waking at 12.30ish for a few weeks so was nice not to be getting up just after i had fallen asleep.

Pebble, have fun on Sunday, we are off to see Bon Jovi tomorrow night We have their Silver package and are 3 rows from the front in the middle. I've not seen them before but dh has several times.

I've been ebaying like made and have sold the p&t vibe, car seat, my4 chassis, car seat foot muff & raincover and a maternity evening dress that i never wore all for £700!! I have the maclaren twin techno listed as well with a reserve of £150. Am trying to get £1000 and to show dh that i dont just hoard!!

Pebblemum · 11/06/2010 00:07

AM Im sooo . Ive been entering comps like mad in the hope that i win vip tickets to see them, no luck so far althouth if i did win i dont think dh would be too pleased about being left with the kids again lol

A is still under the weather, this weird temp thing doesnt show any signs of going away. This evening she has been hallucinating with it too, very worrying. I managed to get 2hrs sleep last night, she just kept crying out for me, poor thing

AprilMeadow · 11/06/2010 08:53

Oh no poor A. I hope she had an ok night and is feeling brighter today

Pebblemum · 12/06/2010 09:29

AM Im glad you liked the concert, saw your status on FB last night What were the support act like? Im a bit disappointed that once again I miss out on the decent support acts and end up with yet another unsigned band, that happened last time, we were supposed to be seeing The Feeling I know its a great opportunity for these bands, a lot of my old school friends were/are in bands and would jump at the chance, but I really would have like to have seen Kid Rock Oh well, im sure seeing the sexy Jon will more than make up for it lol

A seems a bit better now, she still has the temp now and again but is a lot happier and less clingy than she has been. I may even be able to finish the mountain of ironing that is threatening to engulf our utility room. E came home from school yet again with a funny tummy. Its odd though as both days it has happened he has had school dinner. He had a packed lunch in between those days and was fine, also hes also only going once or twice and then is ok. Surely it has to just be a coincidence doesnt it, it cant be the school dinners? Can it?

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, the sun is shining brightly today so hopefully the brats can play in the garden while i tidy up and sort out their clothes for Monday, if dh remembers to get them up for school lol

Hello ello ello ello llo llo llo lo lo

charleymouse · 15/06/2010 15:14

Elkie if you are in Yorkshire and I am not at AMs you can always pop round for a cuppa. Laughs at idea of Yorkshire being so small you will be right next to my house, he he he. Same applies for your Derbyshire ancestors trip SOH and to anyone else who is up North for events relic hunting genealoging (not sure if a word but tis now so there.),

Hope everyone is okay, DD was okay at my Mums but was missing us all I think. Does not want to go to school as they have to do hard work and she would rather go to nursery and it is not fair (apparently).

Would love to come to meet up ladies but still no firm plans re DH 40th. I wanted him to have a bit of a do but I think he wants a bit of time to himself trip to Centerparcs. At least we can creche the kids and have an hour in the spa then.
