Themasterandmargaritas · 05/06/2010 18:10

Ok, you need an emergency baby sitter for the wee fella. Is the party at their house? If not can you use their house and draft in a neighbourhood teenangel?

You can't miss it, you just can't.

JamInMyWellies · 05/06/2010 18:13

No its a vvv rare not happended for about 2yr all the four daughters together all going to the zoo for the day.

Dont have anyone to call upon. COuldnt anyway as he goes bonkers when left and I mean bonkers will scream for hours.

ShowOfHands · 05/06/2010 18:13

You must go. Will nobody sit with the boys for you?

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/06/2010 18:22

Right, then you have to be strong and take him. Call your dsis (plural) tonight and explain, apologise and insist you will try your hardest to keep Lachie apart.

It's not the end of the world, really, those children could get chickenpox from anywhere, after all. I'd be more worried about the oldies.

JamInMyWellies · 05/06/2010 18:24

Am not trying to be defeatist but I just kow the repurcusions from taking him would just be too huge.

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/06/2010 18:26

Have you spoken to your mum?

Could the two year old stay somewhere else?

ShowOfHands · 05/06/2010 18:28

Where's the party? Can somebody go with you- a friend or something- who can keep hold of ds2 in the next room and you pop in and see him regularly, comfort him, cuddle him etc. Would that work?

ShowOfHands · 05/06/2010 18:29

2yr old definitely not had the pox btw? No chance that the mum will want to get it over with?

JamInMyWellies · 05/06/2010 18:39

NO sister is a bit weird with regards her DD. Freaked out that we had visited at least a month before A came out in spots.

Am going to go to the garage and buy [whispers] fags as a 2 fingers up to everything then go and smoke one (first in a yr) when the boys are in bed promplty vomit and spend the evening watching Notebook while eating chocolate. Might add a Dr Who in there to cheer me up.

Thankyou ladies.

largeginandtonic · 05/06/2010 18:49

Oh god Jammy don't watch blaedy Notebook. I am still recovering!

I wouldn't take him either. I would have no one to ask and would sit and be miserable about it too. I am joining you

If i wasn't so pox phobic i would come and stay with you for the weekend. I mean that. When is it? What day is it today?

I would smoke with you too but would promptly pass out to crap asthma lungs.

Oh and dh... Mine popped out to the cash and carry for work this morning but couldn't possibly phine me till lunchtime meaning there is NO chance of me visiting.

Oh i am beyond pissed off. I made myself a Martini with pink gin.

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/06/2010 19:23

Oooo Ginwoman, I've just seen your donation, thank you sweet thing.

for Jammy.

SKYTVADDICT · 05/06/2010 21:16

Its horrid Jam - really feel for you. Eat lots of chocolate.

I was hoping L was going to get a mild dose but unfortunately 5 days down and still new spots appearing - none of the others took this long! He is being a little trooper about it though although is not settling tonight - keeps banging about, crying a bit then dropping off again. I fear it could be a long night!

SOH - I thought about the family tree thing but it never really took off.

I haven't watched New Moon yet but that isn't a surprise - I never get time to watch tv to myself - boo hoo!

Anyway, another glass of wine waiting and BGT! The high life - think its all crap this year anyway.

Pebblemum · 05/06/2010 23:47

Jam sorry to hear you cant go to the party

We are back from a hectic but brilliant week away. We stayed in a wood cabin that must have been built by a blind man, it was wonky and everything creaked, there was absolutely no soundproofing at all whenever anyone spoke downstairs in the kitchen it sounded like they were in our wardrobe. Apart from that though it was lovely and big. The kids club arranged by Canvas were brilliant, entertaining the brats for at least 6hrs a day. Disney and Asterix were great fun except that several of the rides at Disney were closed. On one occassion i arranged to meet dh by the dumbo ride and walked around for ages trying to fond it only to discover it was behind a blue wall that i had walked past several times, it was being refurbished lol. The next visit i arranged to meet dh in Toyland only to discover that that part of Disney Studios doesnt open until the end of summer, doh Alana loved seeing all the characters, Prince Charming and Cinderela came up to her during the parade and stroked her face, think it made her day as she keeps telling everyone about it lol. We had lovely weather, at 7pm last night it was still 96c

Its nice to be back but hate having to do the washing, managed to get 4 loads done so far but still have about the same to do think next time we will go to a nudist camp

will try to catch up properly on whats been going on later when im not so tired

JamInMyWellies · 06/06/2010 07:08

Sky poor L. Has C already has it?

Dh called last night at 10.30 clearly thinks no contact was fine am afraid there is going to be quite a painful conversation tonight.

largeginandtonic · 06/06/2010 08:09

Glad your hol was good Pebble. Stop moaning about the washing. I do 3-4 loads every flippin day!

Sky poor lad! Especially in this heat. Hope he improves soon. It really is horrid.

How is L now Jammy? Deffo pox?

Jammy are you going to let rip about the no contact or the fact that the pox is back and you can't go to the party... i know what i would be doing but would probably berrate myself later for it.

I usually send a snotty email and then have to send another quickly playing down the first. The thing is if he was home and i could just mutter all dya about the little things it would be ok. But as he is away by the time i sit down to email in peace i have the entire day of grieviences bulilt up and it just sort of spouts forth like some raging torrent.

Poor man. Still we take the rough all the time. I am sure a few words here and there is not too bad

Am picking the children up today HOORAY! Of course it means 4 hours in the car for the babies in this heat. Hey ho. AND i have to move the blinkin car seats round. I hate that.

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 06/06/2010 11:14

Heat?

Chicken pox is such a strange thing. Mild for some, awful for others. M hasn't had it yet. I had it twice as a child. Mildly at 18 months and then much worse on starting school. I think (anecdotally) there's something to be said for having a proper dose of it. A lot of people that have it more than once seem to only have it mildly the first time round. I'm sure there's something in it.

Pebble, assume you've been to Disneyland from your post? DD is desperate to go (thanks advertising giants). It's just too much money. I did look at Davy Crocket's whatsit which seems cheapish to stay at but you'd need to hire a car to get to and from the park presumably so it's not so cheap after all. Plus getting there and eating etc. Must check the lottery numbers.

Village fete starts in 45 minutes.

Still raining.

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/06/2010 14:45

It's been super raining here. El nino. I ran 18k in it this morning. It's very wet.

Rugby 7's for us today. Great fun and atmosphere.

largeginandtonic · 06/06/2010 15:23

Blistering heat here. Makes the 4 hour round trip to collect the children extra fun.

That and Beau wetting the car seat en route (a million farcking straps and covers to take off. Followed by getting in the door and Phin throwing up all over the frickin stairs.

Back to normal here...

SOH get back in the car. I see you.

TMAM you put me to shame with all this running. I must do something. < looks at wobbling tummy >

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 06/06/2010 15:32

I will not.

I'm having such a tantrum.

largeginandtonic · 06/06/2010 15:39

Oh i wish i could see it. Are you flinging things around?

I do that.

Slam cupboards and sort washing noisily. Stomp up and down stairs huffing loudly.

Am worn out by the end of it. No wonder toddlers are worn out most of the time

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 06/06/2010 16:18

I threw the keys at the windscreen. Of course they bounced back and hit me in the head. I then kicked a tyre, slammed the door and swore at the cat. I have washed up, hoovered and ironed in a very sulky fashion. DH won't even retaliate the fecker. Just keeps bringing tea and saying reassuring things. I want a fight.

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/06/2010 16:27

I hate it when they don't want to fight. I suppose you could reverse into him, just gently like. Or is that a bit too much?

Have you got some lovely L plates? And dual action controls?

ShowOfHands · 06/06/2010 17:00

Nope. No L plates, no provisional licence. No nothing. I laugh in the face of the law. And it still doesn't fight back. I could reverse into him a bit. I have the defence of having no bloody clue what I'm doing.

Am learning on the farm. It's private property. And a provisional licence is £50. Am saving up for it at a rate of £1 a year.

I've been out on my own for half an hour. Was fine, v straightforward. It's having somebody in the car with me that I can't cope with. I just need to work it out myself. My parents keep laughing. Said aged 4 I went out with a bike and no idea how to ride it. Came back an hour later with a bloody nose and scraped knees but could do it.

SOH does not take instruction.

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/06/2010 17:12

You could start with a sheep in the car. Get you used to having someone around.
