Morning Ladies

Nothing much news here - Tummy seems on the mend but DH has some thing now not what I had but similar so I have been up with the girls since 6.30ish. DD1 watching Zingzillas and DD2 asleep in her moses basket.

TS - some rashes are hot - especially those where there has been a reaction to something but it could be sunburn too.

Have added a few piccies of DD2 to the FB group.

Off to catchup on the drunken antics of Friday night!

alittlebitshy · 13/06/2010 09:09

ts my ds has caught the sun. am feeling very and with myself. i have too. dd is fine but ds and i were out in the open waiting for her a lot yesterday.

dizzydixies · 13/06/2010 10:05

ALBS has happened to me too so I understand how you feel. Cover him in aloe vera gel, it works wonders even if it looks like snot in a bottle!

Raining for picnic & bike ride, don't know why I expected otherwise, it was sunny yesterday & we don't get 2 days in a row ffs.

TwilightSurfer · 13/06/2010 13:48

well it's not sunburn. sorry albs & dizzy for the sun kiss on your kids.

af arrived last night so feeling like i got punched in the belly. this should make pilates this morning fun. considering raspberry leaf tea next cycle to see if that might help decrease the cramping. or would it increase it??? will research later.

have a wonderful sunday ladies!!!

springaporesling · 13/06/2010 15:16

TS hope Reese's rash has calmed down today.

Dizzy Albs to say DS has somewhat of a farmers tan. He's never gone pink or red but I know that doesn't matter. DH and I are constantly getting burnt in random places because we end up smothering DS in suncream and forgetting ourselves or just applying some of his cream to ourselves when we remember.

DH dispatched to India. DS been in a very strange mood today. Has decided he's scared of crocodiles . He too had a long sleep at lunchtime (not to match) T's of yesterday though Miamla! But woke up screaming which is really unlike him. He's been shoving his hand in his mouth though so maybe the 2 year molars are coming early as he has all his other teeth.

CrispyTheCrisp · 13/06/2010 17:52

Afternoon

Whilst i was away for the weekend, DH attempted to saw his leg off with an angle grinder

I am able to use the sign as luckily he did not succeed in his attempt, and instead just made a 4 inch by 2 inch deep gash. He has been stitched and returned home with painkillers and has been installed on the sunlounger all afternoon. I now have two toddlers and an invalid to run round after so i may not be back for a while........

On the upside, i had a lovely night in Manchester and have planted my tomatoes, lemon verbena and two more pots of salad

dizzydixies · 13/06/2010 18:25

springapore - D has farmers tan too but one of them once got burnt (not badly) I think it was last year I am VERY scottish blue and do not take the sun at all - really bad for sunburn and am just desperate my kids never suffer like I did when I was younger.

blimey Sazz, poor DH pop him arnica at EVERY opportunity and much sympathy for him - we were out with sudo David today and have had a lovely time

walked just short of 5 miles, salad for tea, hip killing me, kids knackered and thats about it really!

dizzydixies · 13/06/2010 18:27

TS, sorry to hear about your woes, agnacastus was recommended for period pains if I recall correctly

GladioliBuckets · 13/06/2010 19:08

TS Best pain relief for period pains is a spliff iirc. Failing that an orgasm might help, always cheers me up anyway.

Crispy Was he doing anything particularly daft/optimistic/trying to be clever with the angle grinder at the time by any chance? My dad once gashed his thigh when sharpening knives with the sharpener on his lap - could have been worse! I've also seen him sawing at a tree branch whilst sitting on the thinner end of the branch, 'just to start it off.' Wyle E Coyote anyone?

Great day here although PMT has kicked in good and proper. Took MIL out for a picnic by the sea in the New Forest (cos we got the seats now kna't'a'mean?) then the big 2 played in the car for over an hour outside our house while I sat and knitted in the front seat. Am waiting on a lemon and white choc cheesecake frozen yoghurt experiment with ginger biccy crumbled in it. Another PMT sign (I'd like to hope.)

CrispyTheCrisp · 13/06/2010 19:18

Thanks dizz for reminding me of the arnica. Hope your hip calms down . Soak in the bath?

buckets he was trying to grind off part of the trailer struts to mend it. As visitors to my home will know the trailer full of shite in my driveway is a touchy subject . Looks like it will now just be a trailer in pieces in my drive

Anyhoo, upside is takeaway curry to thank neighbours for taking DH to hozzie, looking after the DD's and picking me up from the station

TwilightSurfer · 13/06/2010 19:41

Sazzles how scary! DH's boss's husband cut his thumb off while working in his wood shop last year. I'm always reminding DH, "safety first!" He gives me the cold shoulder but it's soo soo sooo important. I do hope MrSazzles heals quickly.

Thanks for the cramp advice ladies. It's really only at the kickoff. Thankfully pilates today was a private lesson....nobody else showed for class. I soooooo needed it too. My teacher is someone I've become friends with over the last year so it was conversation packed exercise hour.

Singapore how do you manage with your DH sent off to work like that? (((hugs)))

Anybody else dealing with wall art? Reese has officially marked every wall in our house!

Her rash is still going strong. Today is still looks like sunburn on her arms but her legs & feet look more spotty. Pondering now if 2 year molars are about to appear, causing body stress, thus resulting in this moderate eczema outbreak.

Dizzy don't laugh if I post a baking question on your page later. It is a very honest question!

Miamla how were things after T's 4 hour nap?

cyteen · 13/06/2010 19:44

Crispy yikes, that really is monumentally stupid fortunate of your DH. I'm glad he lived to face your wrath Seriously though, sounds rather shocking so I really am glad everything is ok.

Gladders we park our cars in the same garage...spliffs and orgasms make short work of period or indeed any other pains. Or so I hear. Ahem.

We also have had another lovely day - took DS to a country park and pottered around in the almost-sun, had a pub lunch, drove around for a bit eyeing up the property porn, then came home and hung out together. I put my back out yesterday weeding the bloody allotment so am now confined to the sofa with a vat of wine.

cyteen · 13/06/2010 19:46

TS interesting, all this talk of 2 yr molars - DS has been off his meals a bit lately, horrific nappies and flaming cheeks. I thought he already had the full set but maybe not...

CaptainCaveman · 13/06/2010 20:43

Sounds like we had some collectively nice (ish) weekends on the thread? Not to be left out, dh sliced the top of his thumb off this morning, whilst chopping bread for the birds! I honestly don't think it needed stitching or owt so I popped a dressing on it. It's now a nice blue colour where the skin flap has 'resealed' so I've told dh it will scab up and drop off. Men!

O has been supercute this weekend, trying to copy our sounds. He has installed himself anew bedtime routine with me, which involves kissing tigger, pooh and piglet teddies in turn, complete with an over dramatic 'mwaaaaah' kissy noise

hotterpotter · 13/06/2010 20:45

Evening all

I too have used the remedy heard the story of bifter / orgasm as a cure for period pains

Cyteen well done on braving the motorway how was it, not too bad? Slip roads used to scare the bejesus out of me but you soon get the hang of it, plus you get to go faaaaaaaaaaast

Sazz your poor fool DH thank goodness he didn't chop his leg off, or some other useful part of his body...

TS my DS has taken over from his sister as the demon drawing machine in our house Walls, tables, library books () etc etc. He is so much more of a handful than DD was. He has also just started whipping his nappy off at any opportunity

We have had a busy weekend tidying and cleaning, the house still looking tired but it is much less messy, well downstairs anyway. We need to spend a while bunging all the crap up into the loft to make upstairs look half decent too Going to look at one house tomorrow, eek, and waiting for estate agents to phone back about another. It's very exciting, and also rather grown up...

hotterpotter · 13/06/2010 20:48

Hey cece, glad to hear you are feeling better, but ouch re DH I have cut into my finger today but only 1mm so shouldn't really have even mentioned it

oopsandbabycoconut · 13/06/2010 20:49

OOh poor MrCrispy Hope he heals fast.

Cece - your DH too.

Quiet day here - we all stayed in our jammies all day - ILs came around and were horrified to find DD gardening in her sleepsuit and me on the deck in mine! Raining now, DH watching crap football, DD1 sleeping and DD2 feeding.

cyteen · 13/06/2010 21:16

Cavey lol at your kissy boy. J is just the same, bedtime kisses are just an excuse to try and slip us the tongue these days.

hots motorway was okay, cheers, despite my alarming propensity to drift when doing anything other than staring straight ahead. It will be a long time before I'm able to change music or even take my sunglasses on or off while doing 70mph.

Sympathies on the drawing, DS has already defaced numerous floors, walls, library books etc. But how exciting re. your possible house move! As my fellow thread slacker you are giving me hope that we might actually own a house some time this decade

hotterpotter · 13/06/2010 21:25

Oi cheeky who are you calling a slacker ...

Thor living up to his Viking moniker and has started biting us as well as kissing I thought it was funny at first when he was nibbling my fingers, not so funny when he took a chunk out of my leg...

dizzydixies · 13/06/2010 21:37

hots, we've got a biter here too but DD2 mainly the recipient due to refusal to stop wrestling

couch and table are the victims of the phantom drawer here

spliffs are the BEST cure/distraction for adult chicken pox though

dizzydixies · 13/06/2010 21:44

property porn on the FB page

oopsandbabycoconut · 13/06/2010 21:45

I am so pleased to see that it is not me bringing a baby home that could be the cause of DD1's rather sudden monsterish challenging behaviour. She has taken to kicking whenever she is lying/sitting near us and then looks at me as if to say 'and what do you plan to do about it?' She is also very openly defiant and will say 'no!' when I ask her to pick things up she has thrown on the floor. I have found myself counting to 3 and then turning the telly off/removing a toy until she does as she has been asked. I nearly posted to cry about ruining my perfect girl by having a sister, now I realise it is morethan likley just her age.

I have never had a spliff [innocent blush] so can't speak of it's effectiveness.

dizzydixies · 13/06/2010 21:51

oops - D has turned into a demon from hell and I can't remember the others being this bad tbh. DH made the fair comment that because she's watching the other ones and learning more earlier - she thinks she's sodding 16 ffs

pertelote · 13/06/2010 22:15

Rest assured Oops it's no no no all day long here too. Sometimes she says it and then realises she did actually want whatever it was though And she did love looking at the photos of your DDs

Hots well done on the action towards Project New House! Hope it all goes well. We did indeed accept the offer we got last week and have spent all day today going through files for various guarantees, boundary plans etc to send to the solicitors.

Crispy OUCH to MrC. Bit far to go to show how he can't manage without you wasn't it?! Hope he is quickly on his feet again.

I hadn't realised that I always post on Sunday nights til Red pointed it out. Hi, Red Hi Dizzy, TS, Cyteen, Buckets, Spring, ALBS, Miamla, sorry anyone I've forgotten... have a good week, all.

cyteen · 13/06/2010 22:19

oops I can assure you, it's not the new baby (or if it is, I must have acquired an invisible one). Part of DS's recent growth spurt seems to have been the new growth of tantrum/manipulation/button-pushing skills; I love seeing him develop his independence but by god it's exhausting when it means pulling stones out of his mouth for the nth time that day or ignoring yet another Night Garden-related tantrum.

Fortitude Just keep repeating 'it's not me, it's you'
