lordy Poppy - makes our considering the bikes in Tentsmuir on Sun positively feeble well done Mr Pop and well done you for the travelling. If its PMT it will pass as soon as it came how did your walk go?

poppysocks · 11/06/2010 13:59

Walk great thanks dizzy. Felt a bit bad asking for sponsorship as it was primarily an opportunity for K and me to spend the best part of a day nattering uninterrupted by the DCs but it was a great event to take part in. Such a great atmosphere AND it stayed dry!

TwilightSurfer · 11/06/2010 13:59

Poppy remember ladies have been traveling solo with kids for ages. You will be fine. Was that convincing??

dizzydixies · 11/06/2010 14:04

I keep meaning to give A some money to pass to K - are you still collecting ??

poppysocks · 11/06/2010 14:21

Thanks TS. Nice try .

Thanks too dizzy. Actually posted the sponsorship money just yesterday!

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/06/2010 14:27

Afternoon all

Just running through>>>>>>>>>>>>

DD2 swimming lesson this avo, and i have a haircut before it and blow dry after . Then home for tea and bath and then DH should be home. . I have been asked out to the pub tonight but i suspect DH may see that as abandonment especially as i am off to Manchester tomorrow evening for a night out

Dizzy you made me laugh with your merry postings

Poppy, i have just bought an umbrella fold double buggy for a tenner for those kind of events. At least if they are safely strapped in somewhere you get a chance to take a breath. Good luck with it and i know what you mean that you know you can do it but a bit at the prospect

Red, i hope you won and not the carpet

LOL at AMericans in Ireland

Gotta run.....laters....

GladioliBuckets · 11/06/2010 16:50

Dizzy Good idea re namechanges, have seen Hummingbird Bakery and Red Velvet cookbooks, could be some TM ishoos. Maybe the hummingbirds could have a more tropical name (even soak a Malibu syrup through pre-frosting for adult version) or do yellow icing and a golden/buttercup theme.

dizzydixies · 11/06/2010 16:56

Buckets - these are widely used recipes/ cake varieties so I can't see that they could have TM issues but we enjoyed thinking up the more exotic names

Sazz - hope DH arrives home safely

am about to deal with child care issues

oopsandbabycoconut · 11/06/2010 17:03

Be strong Dizz.

DH took DD st 12 and they are yet to come home I suspect they are eating out somewhere or buying a football shirt I forbid him from buying her! Not that forbidding anything really happens!

have had a couple of ready salted crisps and a bit of flat sprite and it is where I put it so maybe it'll all be over in a bit.

dizzydixies · 11/06/2010 17:44

oh Oops am glad the crisps and sprite have stayed put.

conversation had and not sure it's gone down too well so watch this space

TwilightSurfer · 11/06/2010 17:49

I refuse to leave my house today. I may even refuse to shower...that depends on how long I can stand myself. I've made breakfast twice, two different kinds, one for what was really breakfast and the other for lunch. It's naptime for Reese. I'm not letting it get squashed like yesterday but yesterday there was a very good reason for the squashing since family was only here for a short while. DD1 is practicing math on the floor beside me. I am back in bed with my laptop contemplating ways to simplify my life. So far I've done well in that I've ordered online my body scrub and face scrub instead of venturing out to attempt to find it at two different shops which never seem to have the stuff when I need it. I've also ordered my makeup foundation online which is a double bonus as the company has filed bankruptcy and closed all their mall booths. For safety I ordered two bottles, a whole years worth for me.

Life in the fast lane.

Who mentioned canines and two year molars? Should our kids be getting molars now? Why can't I keep up with these memos??????

LadyGaGardenia · 11/06/2010 18:38

Quick hello.

dizzy hope your convo wasn't too tricky, have not had a good detailed LOL at your wine-ridden post but I think I have the gist

TS yes yes yes to simplification, great bonus on your foundation as well!

Don't think you can have copyright in a cake can you?

Waaah crappy day but we are going out to dins tonight no doubt I will ruin it by arguing as am crotchety. We are going to resto we last went to when I was big with child and could scarcely manoeuvre myself in between chair and table. The food is divino and de vino is divino so I'll probably having difficulty getting out this time!

Poppy good for your dh on the cycling front & can understand the dread on the travel front - will be a pain all right but is doable with gritted teeth and very lightweight & layered clothing.

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/06/2010 18:49

oops so glad you are keeping something down. are DH amd DD1 back yet?

dizz Hope your childcare gets sorted asap

lady enjoy your grown up evening out - eat, drink and be merry

TS Two year molars will be another ooohhhh, 2 months

Dh home. Hurrah. I have subcontracted bedtime. 11 minutes......

TwilightSurfer · 11/06/2010 19:13

LG

dizzydixies · 11/06/2010 19:25

ROFL at de vino is divno - love it I may have purchased two bottles of Rose (half price) which may be chilling in the fridge and I WILL tuck in at some point. Sorry to hear about your day, fingers crossed you are soothed and relaxed over dinner

TS - all in favour of simplifying it all

Crispy - welcome home Snr Sazz and hope bedtime went well

day of dramas here not helped by lingering hangover DD2 had her visit at the nursery she's going to, absolutely no problem and she loved it but tears coming away and I had to cope with form filling! DD1 has been allocated her class for P3 and is not in with her beloved best friend so I arrived to collect her to find her in floods of tears. She is not prone to dramatics (well I don't think she is - help me out here please Sazz??) and it was heartbreaking to see her so upset not sure what to do about it and D cracked her head on the radiator so has a massive egg on the back of it - not whilst in my care I hasten to add forsocialservicesbenefit

Had chat with CM and informed her that we need to reduce her hours dramatically, its not working out and I cannot justify such a big pay out for not so much in return - varying issues unfortunately. however we want to keep her on as the girls like her and she can provide us with the flexibility we need. Will need to wait and see if she still wants to work for us or not - she didn't look best pleased Hate having such conversations and it was definately me who had to do it - DH wasn't for touching it with a barge pole

dizzydixies · 11/06/2010 19:42

DH just brought me sparkling raspberry juice from the fridge instead of Rose wine - I don't know if he thought I might not notice lol

TwilightSurfer · 11/06/2010 19:53

even I'D notice that

dizzydixies · 11/06/2010 19:55

drama here for your considered comments please

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/06/2010 20:04

He's a loon

limited typing here, nail polish applied!

dizzydixies · 11/06/2010 20:27

ooh check you out with the flash nails!

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/06/2010 20:30

making mistake of doing all fingers and toes at same time

No wine poured yet though or could go really Pete Tong

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/06/2010 20:31

oh and is french polish, so 4 coats each......

dizzydixies · 11/06/2010 20:38

crikey o'reilly - I couldn't be bothered my nod towards some personal grooming was getting my bikini line done today and I'm ashamed to admit it was the 25% off as well that swayed me lol

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/06/2010 20:45

I never am normally - i don't really like nail varnish other than a french polish and usually do it once or twice on my toes in the summer as looks nice with sandals. However i am off for a Shiney crew meet in Manchester and a number of them seem very groomed so i am desperately trying to keep up giving it a go

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/06/2010 20:47

All botched up finished now
