hotter if that's your definition of small, I'd hate for you to see the inside of our house.

Hello everyone else I am here but not here, working v v hard in the university library (but currently taking a well deserved break after many hours of reading about post-humanism...)

dizzydixies · 03/06/2010 16:38

Flowers from my lot at work arrived today, AIBU to be a bit 'meh' they're lovely flowers am just feeling likes it's a bit little too late which isn't very gracious of me. Am at dd1's swimming lesson so on phone, apologies for erratic typing.

Haven't addressed childcare issues as am too chicken. Haven't managed to get to book shop but did get dd2's non-broken bike fixed, all V embarassing & do a tesco shop. Not a great achievement all round I get too easily distracted when the sun is shining!!

Have a cafe meeting tonight & not sure I can be arsed tbh. I'm a little sad at how little I feel about it all now, especially when we're so close to opening if we get the money. Will go, keep quiet & see what the Egos have to say.

Sorry for me me me

cyteen · 03/06/2010 16:43

I think you should go to the meeting and take a dump on the table No words could adequately express their treatment of you, the fucking twats.

alittlebitshy · 03/06/2010 17:37

dizzy oh! flowers - well, it is a bit late rather . re the cafe - you know how much you were involved at the start so YOU know even if it is not mentioned how important you were to it. if you go, don;t feel rubbish, feel proud. if you don@t go - have a glass of wine and some choccie/cheese and know you are the bigger person.

dizzydixies · 03/06/2010 18:18

I've finally had a reply to the email I sent the chair, all very middle of the road I have to go as there is stuff that needs paid and I have the cheque books/invoices etc. Am taking cyteen's excellent advice onboard and shall consider that course of action if it doesn't go as I'd like!!

GladioliBuckets · 03/06/2010 18:52

Yes yes yes to picnic, DH is taking that week as holiday before starting new job so me and the Peapod can come and play.

Have not left the house today but stripped the boys down to pants/nappies and made them play outside. Made a den dojo on the patio for DS1. DD not been 100% pleasant.

Dizzy I assume there are other signatories etc? Then, to rephrase Cyteen's suggestion, just walk in, dump the paperwork on the table, smile and say you look forward to being a punter and walk out very fast before the cheeky feckers ask you to do something.

GladioliBuckets · 03/06/2010 18:56

Actually Dizz screw them! Why not just dump it all at one of the committee's house before the meeting and tell them to work out what needs signing and bring it to you. There's no need to put yourself through the hassle/horridness of attending the meeting itself.

LadyGardenia · 03/06/2010 20:22

Picnic
In my mind I send you these to savour as you perch delicately around Miamla's new grass.

dizzy ducks give 'em your brand of dizzyhell.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/06/2010 20:28

Evening ladies, so sorry to be rude and not to respond to anyone just yet, but I'm desperate fir advice

dh had dcs for last two nights, dd asked me earlier if o had another man! Now these ate not the words of my three year old daughter, when having a cuddle at bed time she asked me again, and said that daddy said or daddy asked if I had another man.

I am gutted that he is saying these things to his own daughter, who hasn't got a clue what it means, but it's clearly playing on her mind to keep asking me.

I have text dh, cos the arse won't answer my calls ever, and told him he should be ashamed of himself and won't get to are them, if he is playing mind games and talking to her innapropriatly.

Amongst the nasty texts I have been getting for last few weeks, he said he will be up for them on Tuesday and if I stop him from seeing them I will regret it.

The last thing I want is to do that, bit I'm trying to do my very best by them, and feel if he has them and screws her head up like he has mine, how will I be doing my best by her?

Sister and mum said, just don't be in when he comes for them, get in touch with solicitor and arrange supervised visits only till he can prove he can behave!

Don't know what to do, just feel sick and so guilty all the bloody time!

So very sorry for me me me post

pertelote · 03/06/2010 20:45

Oh No1, how awful. I wouldn't know what to advise I'm afraid, talking to an experienced family law solicitor sounds like a good step though. And do NOT feel guilty (or apologise to us), you are taking good care of your DCs whichever way you decide to deal with this.

LadyG I'll nip in to Selfridges and buy a box for us to eat while thinking fond thoughts of you if you like

Hope you have not been provoked to take Cyteen's advice yet Dizzy...

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/06/2010 20:48

No1 - (((hugs)))) He really is being a pratt isn't he!!

We had a really horrible day here. Took DD2 for her daily checkthis morning and she was suddenly very hot, breathimg fast and had a scarily high heartrate. They were sending for an ambulance but DH said he would get there faster. We literally threw DD1 out at the ILs with the promise of cake when we came back. DD2 was admitted and checked over, she cooled down pretty fast and so everything settled as well. We were kept in for the day and have just got home. DD1 in bed, DD2 sleeping on DH none the wiser. I have frazzled nerves and she has to go back on Wednesday for bloods and needs twice daily checks until then. So our plans for tomorrow and the weekend have been blown out the water but at least DD is okay but I doubt I will sleep tonight for watching her.

Dizzy - I hope you are giving them all what for as I type.

pertelote · 03/06/2010 21:10

Oh golly Oops how scary. They do such terrifying things, don't they - and like you say it is often all over just as quickly and mysteriously. Hope she stays peaceful and you get your breath back and stop shaking.

LittleNutTree · 03/06/2010 21:39

Evening ladies! Have been lurking a bit and never manage to really keep up.

It's been a lovely day here, hope you've all had some sunshine too! Had a great time with the kids out in the back garden, although one of the mindees fell, bum-first, into the paddling pool and got soaked! He was in his school uniform and I didn't have any spare clothes for him so I put him in a pair of my shorts (he is 5 and a wee scrap of a thing!) and his school jumper while his clothes dried. His dad turned up early, (of course!) so said mindee went home like this! I felt really bad and apologised a load of times , but dad seemed fine about it. I hope he was.

Oops, what a horrible thing to happen . I hope DD2 is okay and doesn?t give you any more cause for concern.

Dizzy, I am loving your FB group! My cousin emailed me to say that she was so inspired by your page, that she was going off to bake the moment she logged off! I so wish I could make lovely things like you do, but am completely rubbish and would burn a salad! I hope your meeting goes okay, I love Cyteen?s advice!

Cyteen, I love hearing all about your driving around! I remember when I first passed my test (10yrs ago ? eek!), I went straight out in my car and drove for hours, shaking the whole time! Driving is by far, the only one of the most useful things I have ever learned to do!

Glad to hear you?re feeling better QoD, the one thing I hate most in the world is being sick and to have to deal with that as much as you did, without having any control over it must have been beyond awful.

LG, those treats are surely too pretty to eat??

Oh No1, that?s really awful, especially for it to prey on DD?s mind like that. It?s unbelievable how some people can behave so selfishly, especially where children are involved.

dizzydixies · 03/06/2010 22:27

Oops am needing a wee seat myself so christ only knows how you and R are. Stiff brandies all round and I'll remind you of this in 17yrs time so you can give her a row for the scare she gave you

Cyteen, ALBS, Buckets, thank you. I said very little, got them to sign cheques, made sure my disinterest was apparent whilst not obvious and gave my apologies for the next two meetings without giving them a reason why. Now is not the time for rash decisions Still took an hour and a half ffs

LNT - how lovely to hear that, thank you. I've been asked several times for recipes but I'm loathe to share them on FB page as then people will know how easy it is and how much of a fraud I am I also might scupper my plans to sell stuff iyswim? Am happy to share recipes privately though if you ever see anything you fancy

I've turned my FB group into a page - taking more of Red's wonderful advice. Sorry to ask again but if you would all link to that instead and invite your friends along too - some of you are planning a bake-a-long

LittleNutTree · 03/06/2010 23:10

I understand that dizzy, although I'm not buying that you're a fraudster! And see my 'salad burning' comment above for the reason that your recipes are safe from me!

Think I'm going to take myself off to bed, my concentration levels are pants! It's just taken me about an hour to construct a reply to an email sent by one of my 'new' parents, whose little one starts with me in Aug. Hope it makes sense to her now after all that effort!

GladioliBuckets · 03/06/2010 23:36

Oops Scary, hope it was a one off. Maybe the little creature will have a few longer sleeps tonight to make up for it all.

No1 Are you keeping a diary of all his contact with you? Make sure you're copying out his dodgy texts (and yours for context) on a computer elsewhere in case something happens to your phone. Print off the latest page/s to give to your solicitor each time you meet so they count as evidence (solicitor can check your phone). I would do as your ma suggests, and don't hold back to solicitor the fact he's kept them longer without previously arranging it.
And finally, FFS men! You couldn't possibly have left him for any other reason could you, it must be another man.

springaporesling · 04/06/2010 05:35

Oops hope you managed to get some sleep. How scary.

No1 it must be incredibly difficult going to face the solicitor and go through all the painful things that have led to the breakdown of your marriage but it does seem that you now need to do this and set it all out on the table. What a disgustingly manipulative thing for your DH to do. Am so for you. There is no need to feel guilty for protecting your children from this cr*p you do what you have to do. They will understand even if not now.

dizzy good resolve shown I think

Hi to everyone else!

LadyGardenia · 04/06/2010 07:20

Morning all. Ages since anyone laid out breakfast here, have you all got lives or something? I shall step into the breach with plentiful luxurious coffee, as I have still not released the nice machine to dp's office, and some slightly kitsch but definitely baked muffins. Other offerings here are microwavable porridge and two punnets of strawberries...

oops gosh poor little dd, hope she is calm and cool this morning and has been all night. What a horrible scare. Hope you are all doing ok.

dizzy does that mean you have not actually resigned from the committee yet? Watched Julie&Julia last night and thought of you, you have to watch it!

No1 that really stabbed me, reading what your dd said. If your dh won't answer your calls, he is limiting your communication so your options are more limited. I think at this stage if there is no chance of reconciliation you have to ensure that you have a clear legal basis for what happens to the children - getting divorced may not be top of your list at the moment, you may not be ready to think of it, understandably. But for the children's sake - and for clarity for both of you - I would think you do need to get a separation agreement in place as soon as you can. I know you've already been to a solicitor so perhaps you are doing this. There's no doubt your children need their father, and will want to see him, and so they ought. I am not sure what rules you can make about undermining one another in that fashion.

LadyGardenia · 04/06/2010 07:21

Would it be fun to do a challenge like that J&J one - e.g. see if you can bake a different flavour cupcake every day for six months or something (how many days is that? - where's Sazz when you are counting on your fingers...) and blog about it.

luckoftheirish · 04/06/2010 07:51

morning

i'll take some coffee lg the girls seem to be sleeping better but i seem more tired than ever

oops how scary hope dd2 slept ok last night and all is better today hugs

no1 at your h.. what a twat! no real advice here but stay strong ad i know that you will protect your babies at whatever cost hugs

dizzy hope your meeting went ok ad i am loving your fb page you may have inspired me start baking!!

dd2 currently sitting on me eating toast and shouting "boo" ..

dd1 complained of poorly ear last night still asleep atm so fingers crossed she makes a quick recovery..

still same old same old with dh he is off to nott tom night for another night away [sigh] but at least he is not leaving til dd2 is down and said he will be back for 12 on the sun at least a bit of peace and quiet for me

LadyGardenia · 04/06/2010 08:51

LOTI hope your dd1 doesn't turn out to be sick .

dizzy ok a cake a day is a lot. What about inventing/adapting/making a different flavour/style of cake a week for a year, and blog each one? At the end of the year you have 52 tested recipes, and the material for a book: A Cake for All Seasons. Nice to adapt recipes for available/seasonal fruits & flavours and specials for Christmas, Easter, Halloween and whatnot.
