last nite, we had my DP's cousin at our house with his wife and 2 kids... there were 1.5 yrs old and 4.5 yrs old (i thought she was 6!! as she takes after her Dad who is 6.5).. anyway got to know them and had a lovely evening.. i went upstairs to get babas bodysuit ready for bed as she was worned out playing with them two.. i came back downstairs and my baba let out an almighty scream (everyone was in the living room with baba), what had happened was the 1.5 yrs old bit babas hand and baba just stood there in her playpen in shock and suddenly WWWWAAAAAAAIIIIILLLLLLLL (awww poor thing!)

ive gotta go as baba is tired and need to put in bed for her nap (cant you hear her?!)

geogteach...good luck vibes for first day at school. I can remember when my eldest went and yes I did cry! I waited until I got home though.
He's now in to his first days at secondary...that is soo scary, I'm now waiting for kevin the teenager to emerge and turn my georgeous boy in to a stroppy git. I just can't believe I have a son whos 11yrs...consoling myself by reminding self I had him young and the large bar of choc is also helping to take my mind off it

Bellie · 06/09/2005 21:39

Don't want to think about dd going to school - I think she has grown up so much already!!
Paper, grass, stones, socks, spiders, daddylong legs.....you name it dd will eat it - but guess what - shes gone off normal food again!!
Something new to try me everyday!!

maisiemog · 06/09/2005 21:40

I thought I would update you on our feeding and see how you were all getting on.
Alfie went through a very picky month 9 and would take a few spoonfuls at each meal and then refuse, I think he got a bit skinny. I put it down to teething discomfort.
Now his tooth is through he is eating three meals a day, often quite a lot of food like a couple dessert spoons of cooked porridge, a bit of hot formula, a whole banana and some mango and sultanas for brek.
He is now eating snacks at least once a day, normally between his lunch and dinner. He loves a couple of rice cakes, and I just bought gluten free farley's rusks (um! I like them too )
He has about seven breastfeeds a day, at least three over the night, before bed, between 11 and 1:30 and sometimes at 5 (yawn) or by 7am.
So that's the latest.
Oh and he eats little bits of chopped up stuff, like bits of oatcake with pate or halved grapes.
So how are all the babies eating now?

maisiemog · 06/09/2005 21:42

Oops! I started writing before you wrote Bellie. So that sounds like a very eclectic diet, she has there.

Bellie · 06/09/2005 21:46

I forgot to say CHEESE!! the only normal food that she will eat at present!!
It did get better for a while (when my dad was in hospital) but now we have gone backwards again! Wish she would eat like Alfie. Still maybe it is teeth as she has been very grisly today.

KathH · 06/09/2005 21:55

Babymole is a right troffer - he eats absolutely anything including cat food, newspaper, hairbrushes, magazines, the list goes on [grin. Am obviously not feeding him enough as he was scraping some manky baked beans out of the dishwasher yesterday!

Bellie · 06/09/2005 21:56

Kath - !!

huppa · 07/09/2005 14:39

Ds is also a right little pig - at the moment he enjoys breaking bits off of our wicker chairs and then choking on them. He finally got his first tooth at the weekend.
maisiemog - ds has a breatfeed mornings and evenings and I offer him one after his 2 naps but he´s usually not that interested. I don´t think he actually gets enough fluids because he refuses to drink water - prefers to let it dribble down his chin and soak his clothes. Other than that 3 meals a day and anything else he can find laying around .
geogteach - hope your ds enjoyed his first day at school. Dd started kindergarten last week and I´m really enjoying the exta time I´ve got for ds.

biglips · 07/09/2005 18:05

at everyone!!... well when i went camping at the weekend, on this field there was millions of rabbits on the field and you never guess what the baba had in her mouth!! pls guess? and also she had 2 handful of sand too from the beach, it went right thru her as her nappy was full of sandy-poo!!

baba loves fish and she had mackerel fish that we caught whilst fishing and barbq it (yum yum!!)

Wicker chair! Rabbitpoosand! Yum!!
Biglips camping, how did that work? I want to to take Alfie camping, but we only have a small tent left by one of my backpacker friends.
Did baba sleep ok? What did she sleep on?
Alfie is getting quite restless at night again, so I'm knackered. What is it like to feel well-rested or least not permenantly lethargic? I can't remember. I just seem to do laundry, liquidise food, defrost food, mix food, pick up toys and move things onto the highest table.
I always find that as bedtime approaches Alfie becomes more and more hyperactive, until I am just running around with him under my arm so he can't break anything or stab himself. When he finally goes to bed the house looks like a tip and I'm just collapsed in the middle of it.
Oh and it was my birthday today.
I've decided to extend it for a couple of days, as we didn't really get time to do very much, so tomorrow I'm getting a manicure and a nice dinner.
I got a card from Alfie (he's very good at writing).
Do all your babies buy cards for you and their daddies?

maisiemog · 08/09/2005 00:38

I really must go to bed. Here is an update on baldy baby's progress. He now only eats giant berries

biglips · 08/09/2005 08:16

aawwww happi birthday maisie hope you have a lovely time getting pampered (and the picture of your alfie is ssooo cute!)

well we cheated a bit on the camping bit as DPs mate had a big caravan with a tent attached to it (cant remember the name of it) and we all slept on the couch converted into a bed in the caravan but we all loves it so much, we've decided to start looking on Ebay for a big tent and do it next year.

Hi Biglips, that member centre could do with being just a tad more user friendly. What they don't tell you until you have tried to upload your photo is that it has to be 18k or less, so most of the time you have to have prepared it in advance, so that it is the required size.
If you mean upload an image to the member profile then this is what you do...
Basically, you just post a title and message as you would when you start a new thread, then after you have clicked 'post message' the message appears and in addition a blue clickable hyperlink also appears which says something like upload your image or something.
So you click on it and a popup box appears with a a browse button. You click the browse button and search for your image file on your own pc and then click upload. Then finish and it appears PING just like that!!
Good luck doll!
If you do really mean download, then you right click on the image you want to download and select save image.

OMG, we had a day of no poops and then this morning. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!
I was playing with Alfie and kept thinking 'what is that smell?'
Then I noticed the leg of the babygro had gone brown!
Yesterday he had a packet thingy for brek then two jars for lunch and some readybrek and fruit for a late supper. Does anyone else find that jars cause a bit of a 'stoppage'.
We bought some boots organic jars and I remember thinking they were very smooth, despite being for 7 months+. I think it's the lack of any obvious fibre and the high levels of rice and cornflour that cause the problem.
The breakfast thing I think is a cow and gate thing called sunshine banana, which is mainly dried banana mixed with baby rice I think, not the ideal start for the digestion. I normally mix in a lot of fruit bits, but is was my birthday, so I was being a lazy moo and I let dp make it.
So I paid the price.
It was everywhere.

geogteach · 08/09/2005 18:44

Masie happy bday for yestaday. Sorry about general knackeredness, i'm pooped but that is just because I have started a walking policy now DS is at school and pushing a doublebuggy and dragging a 4 year old is knackering. My only advise is calm down on the food front, there is nolonger any freezing or liquidising in this house, babygeog just eats what everyone else is having (unless its dairy) chopped up with a knife and fork. Tonight he had fishcake, oven chips, baked beans, sweet corn and green beans - can you tell i'm going out for dinner tonight

Riebee · 08/09/2005 22:19

Hello hello, well baby group was a big hit. Chimpy was so excited he spent most of the session turning circles on his bum and laughing. No rampaging thank god, a slight poke of a baby in a car seat but fortunately removed from the situation before any damage done..apart from waking the baby up(mother didn't look best pleased)I just thought she was asking for trouble parking the seat on the floor in the middle of the baby area.

Happy belated birthday maisiemog.

Food wise, chimpy is eating pretty much what we have for tea, I generally scoop out his portions before I add any salt and freeze them...seven portions of sheppards pie tonight. Brekkie is usually cereal (shreddies, wheatabix or porridge) with pureed fruit and some toast. Lunch something like scrambled egg with cheese, tomato & courgette and tea lasagne or pasta & something. A fav at the moment is spinach or avocardo and cheese with pasta. He eats most things out of the Annabel Karmel weaning book.In fact thinking about it he eats better than the rest of the family
b/f wise he still has an afternoon feed, one before bedtime and if I 'm lucky not again until 1-2am. After that it all goes pearshape and he can snack on and off 2hourly until he gets up...I must put a stop to it but too knackered half the time.

We finally have a date next week for his 8-12mth check.

biglips · 09/09/2005 12:05

hi everyone - im fine but got a sore side and back atm poss due to stress as ive told my mum to get out of my house last nite as im sick of her not listening as yesterday i nipped out to bring my car around the front as i park in the side street (as there is a bus stop in front of our house) and baba was ready and playing in her playpen, i came back and realised that mum put the deadlock on again but lucky i managed to get in... i really shitted myself as thinking about baba , god knows how many times ive told my mum to not turn that way round on the yale front door keylock as its the same as her old house and she never had any probs.. but then suddenly she shouted at me saying "ive never done it before and noone had told me about it"!!!!!!!!! so i called her a liar and told her that ive told her about 4 times and even Dp had told her at least once when i stood there in front of them ...so stormed out of the house before i go really madder so went to Adsa to get baba formula which i forgotton to pick up earlier on so ive decided for mum that she got a month to leave as im doing this for us before we fall out big time and also its putting the stress on my relationship with DP too mum been living here for 6 months now

im getting to the point where i dont care where she is going and i dont wanna spend time with her as im too angry with her as it gone past it for me to chill out!!

OP posts:
biglips · 09/09/2005 12:08

sorry about the rant

baba is doing fine... when i went camping, i took jars as i usually have powders foods and real dinner (whatever we have, she have) and came home my god her nappy stank the place down (pongy!!) and very runny as its smooth! (i needed the Gas mask that the World War 1 and 2 used!!)

Happy birthday MasieMog and Biglips - poor you. God I think I would kill my mother if I had to live with her for more than a few weeks - sometimes its had enough on the phone ... but then I have morbid thoughts (god knows why she is only 55 - think it sbecause I am waiting for my dad to have a heart attack - god he is so unhealthy!).

Anway onto more cheerful things - well not really having a really crap time at work - really wanted to go back full time as have bugger all money (nursyer is 300 pounds more than my salary) as I only work part time (3/4) at the mo - and the hours they have given me off are in the middle of the day which is crap because it means I can't take the girls out of nursery!

maisiemog · 09/09/2005 21:41

Waah! Cazzybabs and Biglips!
Thanks everyone for all the birthday greetings.
I'm going back to work part-time in the library next week, so I will probably be ttttttttttired all next week. Plus my computer is on the blink (I'm using dp's just now, but he will soon chuck me off!)
So I may be away for some time......

biglips · 10/09/2005 10:30

thanks Cazzy and maisie as i just need to get it off my chest and i waited for her to come home last nite as she went missing all day yesterday, to tell her that its not working with her living here, but she was upset anyway as she nearly had a crash yesterday morning with a ambulance as she didnt hear the ambulance sirens going off whilst she was listening to her radio as she said she didnt have it on loud, so DP said "well if you didnt hear the sirens then you need to get a hearing check" and i said to mum "even i can hear the sirens if i had my radio on too" (as im deaf) i couldnt stop smirking as soon Dp said that.. i tthought yeah i know as she does need a hearing check but she wont have it (she is 54)
