Sazz what pyo do you have ripe at the mo?

dizzy still very about the cafe but do you know what, you were destined to have your own place, not run someone else's. And you will have your own place. Shall we come up with some names for your cake blog soon to be recipe book and possibly tv show? I saw a cupcake stand thing today and thought of you. It was in Avoca (predictable), a cardboard make-it-yourself one for about a tenner I think. OK I didn't buy it but I did think when you have your cafe you could have cupcake stand kit things as an alternative to the usual crayons and paper for the wee ones. It was something like this ok that one's a bit putrid but that idea, three cardboard circles and a cardboard bit you ram up the middle. Then they could decorate them with crayons and the mums will be talking with their mouths full about how family friendly your place is and how the other place, if they are honest, is a bit low grade now that the cake-passionista is no longer involve.

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/05/2010 15:06

lady they said strawbs on the sign but i was whizzing past so i could well be wrong

dizz maybe those emails were just what needed to happen - no more MrsNiceGuy and all that? Good to get it off your chest whatever happens, and when i win the euromillions i will be backing YOUR cafe every step of the way . Love the kiddy craft idea from VG BTW

This blue one is actually the one I saw.

It would be great if you could INVENT a new type of cake, wouldn't it? The Cupscape, where you do a to-scale model of someone's garden or tennis club or whatever, all on top of one ordinary sized cupcake. The Vary Cake where the inside is like marble cake (remember that, yum).

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/05/2010 17:06

Went to the PYO but picking starts in a week or two. They had homegrown picked ones for sale though which are bloody delicious (think they have polytunnels)

Got home and DH had not put the oven on or the chicken drumsticks in for the girls tea . He always says yeah, yeah no problem and then promiptly forgets (despite a note on his desk )

SO now i have two tired, hungry, grumpy girls to deal with (subcontracted to cbeebies natch). I don't want to stop asking him to help out as then he would end up doing sweet FA when he could actually be a real help doing a simple thing. I know if he was working at the office then he wouldn;t be available to do it but we would have planned our afternoon differently. GAH, now i am thinking i am so pathetic if a late tea is all i have to concern myself with. GET A GRIP WOMAN .
Phew, I feel like i have completed a whole AIBU thread on my own there

Oh, and on happier news my friend had her DD1 today at 41+4. Weighed 9lb12 (ouch) and is feeding well

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 26/05/2010 17:35

Crispy - everything is relative and if someone has said they'll do something and subsequently don't its a PITA! well done and lovely news to your friend, does DD have a name and have you pointed her in the direction or arnica to speed her recover

dizzydixies · 26/05/2010 17:36

loving LG's cakage ideas

Buckets - you're right, time to stop running and actually see things that are passing me by

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/05/2010 17:48

Girls had roast chicken, new pots, asparagus & broccoli with gravy and finishing off with strawbs and yoghurt. Am quite LOL

Baby called Mia with her late mother's middle name . And no, i need to point her in the arnica direction. Thanks for the reminder....

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 26/05/2010 17:49

Oh, and it is very cute that DD1 has started saving the best bits of dinner (roast chicken & strawbs) until last rather than scoffing first (aka DD2)

hotterpotter · 26/05/2010 18:29

Yay for new babies

TwilightSurfer · 26/05/2010 18:48

Sazzles it was Apalachicola where you had the lobster soup or something like that....if I recall correctly. Tiny town, sneeze and miss it.

Lovely day so far. DH let Reese walk right out of the house, down this huge flight of stairs out back, and to the pool gate without any idea she was gone. The pool dudes (thankfully they were there cleaning it) called up to us just as I started to call her name in PANIC. I'd stepped out to the garbage can, walked back in and realized she was no longer in the living room (however DH was). Needless to say DH knew I was slightly pissed.

Off to the pool for the first time today.

Wish ALL OF YOU could be here with us. Separate houses though as we DO NOT have enough bathrooms for ALL & Families.

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/05/2010 19:19

I do believe you are correct TS. Plus we had Alligator and some other stuff

re DD2, it is SO easy to do, take your eye off for one second and they are off. GLad she is safe and hope your heart rate is back to normal

cyteen · 26/05/2010 20:12

Eek TS, I bet your H is in the dog house now And I thought it was bad when DS somehow circumvented the stairgate and ran up our stairs when I wasn't looking. All I heard was his cheeky giggle and the faint scuffle of feet on wooden floor. Thank goodness he always slams the gate after he's gone through it.

dizzydixies · 26/05/2010 20:17

TS that deserves a major MEEP and PHEW

what do you all think about Kitsch N' Bake for the blog?

dizzydixies · 26/05/2010 20:30

Ladies, I don't want you all to get your knickers in a twist but ......................................... Miniest Oops may be on her way!!!!!!!!!!

Oops texted to say that she thinks her waters have gone and she's contracting every 5-7minutes so is away in to get checked out.

Have sent her our love and told her I will keep you all updated - including sleeping on my phone if need be.

Positive vibes girls and cyteen - see, ask for a lovely new baby to sniff and you shall receive

TwilightSurfer · 26/05/2010 20:35

Thanks ya'll. I didn't allow the "incident" to get to me since things ended on a positive. She's snuck out at home and gone 180* around the house before I've caught up with her. She lacks fear and has a keen sense for adventure. My hope is my mom's keeping a good eye on her when all ours fail.

On that note called my brother today. Good chat. Still believe his wife is to blame for our family problems.

Dizzy did I miss something...what's the blog?

Reese isn't napping so off to work!

Sazzles I thought alligator was part of that culinary event. We were not so bold.

cyteen · 26/05/2010 20:36

Great news dizzy, I shall clear my nasal passages in readiness Time to dust off Contractors' Corner, methinks!

love Kitsch'n'Bake, btw.

dizzydixies · 26/05/2010 20:43

TS you have my sympathies, DD2 has never had any sense of self preservation and it can be heart stopping at times. D seems to be following suit too. Glad you had a chat with your brother, maybe things will improve from here?

the blog was an idea of VG's - she thinks I should start a baking blog although I think she credits my launching ingredients into the bowl and hoping for the best with a little too much faith

cyteen - glad you like kitsch n bake - I wasn't sure if it was too twee

TwilightSurfer · 26/05/2010 21:02

OH I LOVE THE IDEA!! And when you become absolutely famous I can say "I KNOW HER!"

just noticed DD1's shoulders. Calendula Cream applied. Imperfection REIGNS today.

I still wish VG would write a novel about us. Fiction not factual but based on our coming together here and developing into the village we are today.

Sorry that was completely random but I'm fighting the urge to fold laundry a wee bit longer.

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/05/2010 21:02

Hurrah for oops and HEctorina . Good luck to the coconuts!!

Neither of my DD's has any fear at all . Found them both up the driving tormenting looking at the neighbours chickens the other day

TS alligator was good, you should give it a go. Great you chatted to DBro, hope you can rebuild your relationship even if it means doing it separately from family gatherings

Kitsch'n'Bake is brill . I joined the Trust website BTW today so will send evil messages to the gits.....

Junior apprentice now. I am hooked . My fave is the wee Scottish girl

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 26/05/2010 21:04

Up the 'Drive'

TS, i'd buy the book LOL

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 26/05/2010 21:08

Ooh, the apprentices are making cupcakes

OP posts:
RedLentil · 26/05/2010 21:18

Kitsch n'Bake is truly fab btw.

dizzydixies · 26/05/2010 21:22

I'd buy the book too but I'd prefer to be portrayed as several tensof pounds lighter and not quite as self indulgent/moany

now more news at this time !

TwilightSurfer · 26/05/2010 21:23

HOORAY FOR OOPS! We're gonna have a baby! We're gonna have a baby! okay...she's gonna have a baby.
