here i am at the beach and all you lot have run off to have real lives.

MrsMiamla · 23/05/2010 19:31

hi TS
just in from spending the day in the garden and i've delegated bath/bed to DH so i'm here for a minute or two

those models do nothing for that bikini at all! why haven't any of them got any boobs?! or hips? or a body that is even vaguely womanly?! I like it but it does seem expensive for a bikini but then i'm currently wearing a gorgeous one I found for £12 (top and bottom altogether!)

oh and red, forgot to say earlier... i really like that dress and might have a little peruse in H&M tomorrow in my lunchhour. I promise not to wear it when you wear yours though

poopy yesterday sounds like lots of fun! hope today brightens up enough for you all

dizz its wine o'clock!!!!

MrsMiamla · 23/05/2010 19:31

sorry poppy, bit of a typo when i was typing your name just now

LadyGardenia · 23/05/2010 20:39

Hi all, LOL at TS keeping tabs on Oops from her beach .

We have been away in blazing sun this weekend, at a christening way out West, back now plus dogs plus boys etc. We've all had vile tummy bug / all over body dreadfulness plus shocking headaches, still getting over it really but christening was lovely and great time had by all.

Will try to catch up over tonight & tomorrow.

Dizzy I'm sorry it poured on you today feckin Murphy's law or something innit? Hope dd2 enjoyed the jollity of balloons and cake regardless of uncooperative weather... and as for the rest of your set-up let's just say My Sincere Sympathies and I hope it's not as rubbish as you predicted!

ds2 drenched in sweat for a lot of the day due to too much car, shame, as he started the day with hotel brekker and hotel pool .

LadyGardenia · 23/05/2010 20:40

Oooh redser I likey likey! I bet it really suits you, too.

TwilightSurfer · 23/05/2010 21:07

Miamla have you seen me?? No boobs...No hips....The "womanly" attribute missed me by a llloonnnggg mile. But I gotta wear something!

Seems like my sunny vibes are landing all over the place but NOT at Dizzy's. Glad Miamla & VG enjoyed the sun.

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/05/2010 08:14

Morning

Lovely time had camping (apart from DD2 not sleeping ). Campsite was fab (thanks oops) and a short drive to a lovely flat beach. There was a river running across the sand to the sea and made a wonderful play area for the DC's . Got back yesterday afternoon and enjoyed the sunshine with the paddling pool

This weather is just perfect for me, if this lasted all summer i would be one happy bunny. DH already complaining it is too hot

miamla i can verify the fact that TS does in fact have a body like the model , so would suit perfectly! I like it but i think the orange one is a nice pattern

red yay for the new dress, it is lovely and you definitely deserve to buy something for all the hard work you do. Anyway you need to have a dress to befit you swanning round your new kitchen/diner

lady hope the tummies are all better? Horrid to be ill when the weather is nice. Somehow more tolerable when you can cosy up in front of the fire under a blanket

poppy i think i forgot to say well done to MrPOppy on his new job. Must be a weight off of your mind . Hope the weather improved for you and MidiDixies party in the end?

oops poor you on the cankles . I was always told to elevate them and do small circular movements to keep everything flowing

Sorry if i have missed anyone, DD1 slept till 7.10am having gone to bed in disgrace at 6.30 last night (overtired) and DD2 slept uuntil 7.45 . Toddler group this morning and DD1 swimming this afternoon. Making the most of the weather as it is set to cool off from Weds

lg hope you have all recovered and enjoyed the christening..

crispy glad camping went well tho that dd2 was a cheely monkey who didn't sleep...

dh got up yesterday morning woo hoo .. fed and dressed girls put lamb on and made the mash all by 8am!!! he did say last night how tired he was and i reminded him thats how tired i feel every day... not alot but a small move in the right direction!

dizzydixies · 24/05/2010 11:41

pass the neurofen plus please

TwilightSurfer · 24/05/2010 11:46

Lucky I truly get the idea that he "wants" to be the husband and father-to-your-children you need but he's not got any good role models. He's had years to create the person he is. Guide him gently but firmly and I think he'll be the man you need him to be. ((((hug))))

Sazzles that camping/beach experience sounds lovely...apart from dd2 not sleeping.

All is quiet here this morning. Everyone is still sleeping. This too shall pass.

Oops' laptop isn't working so don't panic, Hectorina not on her way yet!!

TwilightSurfer · 24/05/2010 15:59

dizzy thanks for the oops update.

CrispyTheCrisp · 24/05/2010 21:27

Evening

Have had a lovely day with playgroup outside for the whole session, all meals eaten outsidr and even some time for me to lounge around on the sunlounger reading my book and ignoring the dd's. DD1 swam this avo and was an angel going straight into the pool and i had a little swim

TS your holiday place looks lovely and so glad you have fab weather and no oil. Did you buy the bikini?

dizz glad the hangover has subsided. finally

Hope oops gets her pooter fixed soon

LOTI how is DH this evening? Has MrGoodHusband extended for longer than 1/2 hr?

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 24/05/2010 22:06

DH & I been cinema then for walk to ease guilt of pic n mix!! Guests leaving tomorrow

TwilightSurfer · 25/05/2010 01:21

Sazzles your DD1 must be sending messages to my DD1 who was quite the little fish today. I believe she was in the pool almost all day with DH & I taking turns keeping an eye on her. How do you manage to have such an awesome playgroup??

No bikini purchased. Talked myself out of it with the if I have to question whether I like it or not then maybe I don't really so don't buy it. Saves DH money in the end so whatever.

Buckets I could have used a sit down with you today. OMG! DD1 has had one issue of anxiety/fear after another today. First with tiny ants near the pool (one bit her). Second with "sand creatures" because DH told her about sand fleas and such. Third with crabs in the pool because I found a little guy hanging out under water on the steps in our pool this morning. Then there was something else but it escapes me now. Let's just say she tired me out. How can ONE six year old have so many outrageous fears???????

Hope everyone else is okay. I don't think this thread has ever been this quite.

springaporesling · 25/05/2010 02:45

TS sounds like a lovely holiday.

Crispy glad the camping trip went well.

Dizzy feeling better this morning?

Just wanted to share DS can be really lovely when he wants to as I was putting him to bed last night he said 'luff Mummy' to which I replied 'thank you DS I love you too' to which his response was 'wellacome' ahhhh

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/05/2010 07:20

Girls despatched to CM with DH, wash on and i am in bed with a cuppa. Lovely

Have my smear test later. Not so lovely

TS LOL, just reread my post and sounded like i wason the lounger at playgroup. Even though our group is lovely it doesn't extend quite that far! We had paints outside and we have a play area (which also has some random chickens wandering round it ) so all the DC's just did what they wanted chased chickens for 2hrs and we chatted and enjoyed the sunshine. Sunlounger was at home during nap time

dizz hope there was something half decent on at the cinema and very glad you got them to do some babysitting to give you and DH some time out. Keep deep breathing for a few more hours and 'poof' they will be gone.

Lovely Spring . DD2 is more interested in 'more', 'again' and 'elephant' than loving chats

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 25/05/2010 07:33

morning Hope everyone is ok?

loti how are you feeling today, I saw you were unwell at the weekend?

Assigment about 65% done....day off today to do some more.

Crap work news - the nhs has to make around 50% management savings , so there is a very real possibility i will either have to apply for my own job or worse, be made redundant....wonder what i'd get for 18 years service? And life goes on!...

dizzydixies · 25/05/2010 08:12

Spring, I love him- please post him to me this instant!

Sazz, was Iron Man 2, wouldn't be my choice but we were limited & at least it wasn't sky sports news on loop . DD1 breaking her heart as they leave at lunchtime but won't even get up to walk her to school, it's too early so said goodbye last night. You know how close it all is too

Cece - we too are worried about job cuts, dh I imagine will be fine but I'm hardly a great candidate.

TS- poor DD1, I've never gotten over my irrational fear of snakes so hope it doesn't become an issue

VG/Loti hope all on mend

we watched last episode of 'Lost' last night & I was ridicliously upset by it which of course led to randomly anxious dreams including pregnancy/ultrasounds I still reach to stroke my stomach each morning before I'm properly awake, wonder when that will stop? MIL been busily informing me all about my cervical shock & Dad got very upset when he saw me on Sun I've got nurse tomorrow for blood tests & Dr again on Fri for results of tests from hosp.

Right on happier note, sun shining, will have kids & Dh to myself after lunchtime and relax!!

right on happier note, sun is shining

CaptainCaveman · 25/05/2010 09:13

Ds1 is ridiculously frightened of any flying insect, and runs away screaming! Slightly irrational methinks

Right dizzy, could you send some of that sunshine down to Nottm? We have gloomy greyness here. I'm on annual leave today but I have only taken leave to get my research proposal done . I'm off to knuckle down....

oopsandbabycoconut · 25/05/2010 09:42

Morning all

Nothing much new here. Stolen DH's netbook for a few minutes before I head to the supermarket for yet more food. DD seems able to eat an enitre punnet of cherry toms, strawberries and olives on a daily basis. Also want to swap a cossie someone gave DD in 9-12 months. Still warm and sunny here at leastfortoday!

Dizzy night our sounds good - Enjoy your afternoon with Dh and the girls.

Sazz - YOur day sounds like ours except we didn't have playgroup

Hi CC, Singa and everyone I have missed.
