Miamla - rant away darling, I've already managed to depress everyone so a little anger/annoyance with GOOD reason will be very welcome change am sure

Oops - please don't tell DH or I'll never hear the end of our shitey mummy bus whinges

Crispy - have you seen photo of dizzydog on FB - bless her the cats are in the garden mocking her

oopsandbabycoconut · 25/05/2010 21:08

Crispy - I don't get the car thing either - I just want a car that fits us all and all our crap stuff. I will end up with a Mummy bus Dizzy as nothing dirty, muddy, cream leather scratching will be allowed in this car He has ordered seat protectors for the back seat so the girls carseats don't damage it and there is a no kiddies shoes rule too (which he can enforce if he is so bleeding pedantic!)

I am off to bath and bed.

See you all tomorrow

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/05/2010 21:17

ROFL, Oh how funny oops, i'm sorry . I would laugh at the suggestion that he could enforce it or be bothered to, but then my BIL does in his Vauxhall Vectra

Hello everyone

Thought I'd better get myself back on the thread before it runs out tomorrow

miamla hope you have a good sleep and DH realises the error of his ways pdq. I think DH sometimes thinks I 'give in' to my DS, but I don't care, and as long as it doesn't impact on him I will continue . After all I don't mind being the good cop to his bad cop

Oops how nice for your DH to be left money to buy something special. I don't quite get car drooling yet but can see how it may develop over time . Speaking of cars...

YAY Cyteen I wish you many happy miles behind the wheel (up the M1

Cece good luck with the reading, and even more good luck re the job situation At my place we seem to have escaped the massive axe this time round but am sure it won't be long.

Dizzy I am so sorry that your PIL have once again exhibited their twattish nature and for you and your DDs. At least they are gone now and you can forget about them for a long time

Sazz how exciting that you finally get to do your swimming thing, but the Dublin swim meet never happened. Is there any good news re your lovely purple car / big wodges of cash to buy another?

TS hope you are having a super time

Sorry if I have missed anyone, hope you're all OK

alittlebitshy · 25/05/2010 21:18

am loling at the no shoes rule in the car oops. some ppl think we're loopy for having none in the house but..

miamla hugs, and you know he does this every now and again but you love him so once he gets it out of his system you'll be fine. enjoy your night away

well done cyteen have you druven solo yet> it scared me shitless. still, almost 4 yrs after passing, i think omg i can drive!

thanks to the ladies helping me on my fb posts (money - meals and shoes).

phew - back in my threads i am on. shite typing though.

dizzydixies · 25/05/2010 21:20

Hots >

DH and I are sitting here eating cheese/crackers/chutney which I blame on our good friends David and his wife

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/05/2010 21:21

Tsk hots, Purple? I think not. Blackcurrant Pearl perlease. Ok, maybe i was a tad obsessed

No, the month is up tomorrow so i expect they will then take a fair few weeks to decide what paltry offer they will make. Car insurance notoriously doesn't cover the value of the car so i'm not holding my breath for a similar replacement

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 25/05/2010 21:23

Oh, and glad to hear your job is safe

dizz David would be chuffed to get any credit i am sure

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 25/05/2010 21:27

oh Oops, I knew you'd be in trouble when you said 'purple' you do KNOW that you'll have to give DD2 the middle name Crispy in order for her to get over that slap in the face

ALBS, we have a no shoes in the house ruls which is ignored by certain persons but I suppose its not too bad in the summer - glad to have been of service, hope you manage to get something

lordy, I've been driving for 17yrs in Oct - how old do I feel now

hotterpotter · 25/05/2010 21:30

Well I thought it was purple under the dirt

dizzydixies · 25/05/2010 21:33

oh lordy Hots, quick hide behind me before she sees you

pertelote · 25/05/2010 21:35

Miamla that certainly doesn't seem very fair. I know what you mean about a cuddly bedtime after a work day. Hope you feel better in the morning.

Cyteen woohoo! Well done, you clever thing.

Oops I don't get the car thing either, but a happy DH is the best sort so ... on the other hand Loti that principle can be taken too far so hope you get some YOU time too whether that is singular or plural.

Thanks for all the flattering remarks about our house . Obviously it is not usually as tidy as those pics make it look! Actually I wish I had shifted more stuff before the photographer came - the kitchen looks cluttered I think and at that size my quirky little corners just look like mess. But we'll see. At least you can't see the zombies

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/05/2010 21:39

I can still SEE you....

No shoes rule here too . Not always adhered to......

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 25/05/2010 21:41

someone bought L swingball with bats, zombies don't frighted me anymore after that 'experience'

hotterpotter · 25/05/2010 21:43

Pert it looks absolutely charming

My head is spinning from houses today too, after fecking months of looking (admittedly we never actually went into another house ), I asked DH at the weekend if he actually wanted to move... erm no, not really We talked about it and agreed that our neighbourhood is too rough and we do need to move, but looks like we are staying in Wakefield . Got quite excited about it and seriously looking in a village just a couple of miles away, found a house which looks good and would leave enough money in the budget for doing up but.... the fecking school is full for reception entry in September AAAARRRGGGHHHH

dizzydixies · 25/05/2010 21:46

plenty of room in our school Hots

cyteen · 25/05/2010 21:53

hots have you considered home educating? Having spent the weekend with, among others, my lovely mum of three boys who is HE them all (while running about fifty different businesses), I'm having a temporary conversion.

Being able to drive certainly opens your options re. housing though Another plus!

(Would love to head up the M1 btw, just give us a few weeks to find my motorway legs x)

pert I too was at your lovely chic house. Would hate for you to see my corners if you think yours are over-cluttered!

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/05/2010 21:56

I used to LOVE swingball dizz, i'll be betting DD2 is nothing if not enthusiastic with it

Aargh am over on the darkside of internet explorer as firefox has gone wonky again on this laptop and my carefully typed post is in limbo

Cyteen I like the idea of HE but the reality would drive me (and DH who would have to do most of it) demented I think

Am waiting to see what the lady from the admissions dept has to say about the chances of her getting a place sometime in the first year and then take it from there.

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/05/2010 22:17

Can you linky to the village house hots?
Our school has increased its intake by about a third i think as there are unprecedented numbers this year and people living opposite the school wouldn't have got in. 19 siblings for 20 places . Maybe yours will be considering something similar depending on their wait list?

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 25/05/2010 22:30

It's this one, northish facing garden which I didn't want but I love the chimney and it's one half of a semi away from fields plus would have loads of cash to make it yummy inside.

Right, bed time for me. See you in the morning

TwilightSurfer · 26/05/2010 00:32

Okay I get the car thing to a certain degree. However the "no kid zone" idea is a pain in the ass. DH's Dodge Charger is like that. He vacuums EVERY TIME the girls are in it. Good Luck Oops! Miamla all will be better tomorrow.

I am soooo sleepy. DD1 would stay in the pool all day long if she could. DH & I are doing our best to take turns with her in there but we are getting WORN OUT with swimming & sun. LOL! It probably did help that I had chocolate cheese cake and french fries for dinner. DH wanted raw oysters so we went to where he thinks they are best (Blue Parrot...for those who know the island). There's not a huge no-fish selection and neither child wanted food soooooooo fries and cake it was. Guess that's a plus to being a grown up...I CAN HAVE dessert for dinner!
