Did you feel less inclined for visitors because of c-section sazz? We had visitors 4 hours after DD and 2 hours after DS

CrispyTheCrisp · 20/05/2010 22:10

No, not your posture hots, maybe your right hook

oops i was missing DD1 too much not to see her on day 2

hotterpotter · 20/05/2010 22:28

There's nothing to about you daft lass

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/05/2010 22:40

Crisdpy - no need to be I missed DD today when I got home to an empty house. Will take the visiting situation as it comes then - that was the kind of advice I was after from someone whao had the experience.

Really going to bed now!

CrispyTheCrisp · 20/05/2010 22:44

Sorry hots, MN reeeaaaalllly slow here tonight so keep x posting and not realising

With DD1 she was prem, crap feeder, threatened with SCBU etc. Took me until day 5 to feed her at all without help of hand expressing/syringe and i was so exhausted/in pain and hormonal that i wouldn't see anyone . kept bursting into tears if anyone said anything nice to me .
With that in mind, we played it cool with DD2 too. She was a crap feeder too and recovery from CS tiring so no hospital visitors. Also as all our family are 2hrs away there was no possibility of 'pop ins', so my mum came up after 2 weeks when DH went back to work and i actually needed help IYSWIM?

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 20/05/2010 22:55

Yes I do SWYM, we are only 8 miles from my mum and 3 () from MIL so much more popping-in opportunity, also did not realise DD wouldn't feed for several hours after birth but also for the shoddy hospital care.

Right am tipsy shattered and off to bed, got lots of garden stuff to do tomorrow before we head to the posh end of the county in the afternoon. Night-night

GladioliBuckets · 20/05/2010 23:07

Oops When I had DS1 (2 nights in) I wouldn't let anyone bring DD in to the hospital. We just stopped in for a cuppa with the ILs when we went to pick her up on our way home. Meant the kids met on neutral territory and he was presented as a gift for her. Also means the ILs can only invade the hospital one at a time if they are in charge of DD.

TwilightSurfer · 21/05/2010 02:25

how on earth do you lot expect a girl to keep up?? this thread already has 758 posts!

vaca starts now. snoring my way. dh did not come home with a new truck so packing my old truck in the morning. that's all good in my book for the moment. no dvd player in my truck though. lots of paper and crayons!

can you tell i'm loopy tired?

somebody text me if oops goes into labor.

night

dizzydixies · 21/05/2010 06:35

am up FARRRR to early to be remotely tolerant or have a sense of humour through out the day.

DD2 has had me up since 6am due to the 'owl hooting' outsider her window

fecking wood pigeon , where's my fecking gun

wash on, everything else ignored and time to dose on couch whilst she entertainsherself watches Aladdin

MrsMiamla · 21/05/2010 06:38

morning dizz, can i join you in the grumpy tired corner? dh to bed late, ds up for an hour 3am and up for day at 6

impressed you've had inclination to do a wash already!

springaporesling · 21/05/2010 06:51

Been up since 5.45 too although it is 1.50pm here so on a Friday countdown already - off to see Robin Hood tonight although I think I might fall asleep in the cinema.

luckoftheirish · 21/05/2010 07:06

i am also joining the 6am gang also had a weird tummy ache that kept me awake between 2.30 and 4.30am so well and truly zombie like!

morn' dizzy mrsm xx

CrispyTheCrisp · 21/05/2010 08:24

DD2 woke at 6.15 and left chuntering until 7.05 when DD1 went in to torment entertain her

Brekker had, legs waxed and about to set off to preschool for a walk in the sunshine

buckets Hope your day is better today and TS safe trip

Happy Friday all

OP posts:
oopsandbabycoconut · 21/05/2010 08:39

Crispy - it's 8.24 and you are waxed, fed and walking places - what time were you up??

DD slept until 7 and then woke me up by singing 'muuuuummmmyyy' to the tune of Twinkle twinkle which was a nice way to wake up.

Off to MW to persuade her that I need her to check if these blasted contractions are doing anything - I know she won't do a sweep but will feel happier to endure contractions if I know they are atleast doing something!

HAve lovely sunny days all. Dizzy - have fun in Waitrose

hotterpotter · 21/05/2010 08:55

We must have nicked a little bit of time from each of you, sorry, because apart from a few early morning excuses needs from DD they both stayed quiet until after 8

It's so beautiful out today we are hopefully going to mooch around in the garden all day

FoghornLeghorn · 21/05/2010 09:45

I was up at 5.30am thanks to my delightful neighbour firing up his ridiculously big truck right under my open bedroom window

Oooops - not being unfair at all, it's totally right for DD to be the first to meet her new sister. One thing I would say is to make the same rules for everyone. My SIL had her baby a week ago and my family were told we had to wait to visit and SIL's sisters took priority to visit . Didn't got down well at all

CrispyTheCrisp · 21/05/2010 10:30

I got up at 7.10 oops, just very efficient

Have persuaded DH that going camping this weekend in the lovely weather would be a good idea. Only problem is that he is still a 5hr drive away (i thought he was leaving at 7am) and i don't fancy late afternoon Fri traffic heading to the South West . Perhaps we should go to Wales? Any suggestions? Seems a bit of a fag to only go for one night if we can't realistically leave until tomorrow

Enjoy mooching Hots, fingers x'd for useful midwife oops and hope the family are better for the weekend foghorn

oopsandbabycoconut · 21/05/2010 10:40

Crispy - if this place has space it is lovely - not to far from beaches and Lyme regis. Lots of space for kiddies to run around. Or if you fancy Woolacombe then Warcombe farm is always good.

MW more useless than a useless thing, enough said or my BP which is already high will cause me to explode!

CrispyTheCrisp · 21/05/2010 10:50

Thanks OOPs, looks lovely . Just they are all about 3hrs drive (without traffic) so just seems a long way for one night. Maybe we will get up and go early tomorrow morning to get 2 full days

Sorry MW was crappola . My friend is 40+6 and going mad. She is not the most patient person at the best of times LOL

OP posts:
oopsandbabycoconut · 21/05/2010 10:55

You don't have to go that far .....www.visitforestofdean.co.uk/thedms.aspx?dms=1&at=CP If it is just the outdoors you crave

TwilightSurfer · 21/05/2010 12:08

My girls heard everyone here was up so they got up. 6:30A on vaca travel day.

Haven't read back but gather from Foghorn's comment that Oops is wondering about baby and visitors. Because of the CS we didn't want dd1 to see me/us in the hospital. DH went home the day after my CS to shower and have lunch with her. She thought he was working round the clock and I was out shopping. Day two I got to come home so she saw me and the baby at the same time and WAS EXTREMELY UPSET she wasn't there for the birth. That took a while to smooth over. The Barbie Jeep gift helped. As for hospital visitors, my dad and his wife came with gifts and apologies (remember the drama)24 hours after delivery and two of my dearest friends popped in a few hours before I was released. Everyone else waited till we got home to visit.

Must get the ball rolling in the right direction here.

hotterpotter · 21/05/2010 14:57
