Hello

Sorry to hear there are poorly spotty babies again, and poorly queenie too I hope the wise words here have helped you, although Buckets' method seems a little...extreme

loti that is shite your poor friends, I am so sorry. Don't know what else to say [say]

I'm clever you know, and can google why doesn't anyone want me to help them with their pub quiz

What else has been going on? I have been reading but not finding much time to post On hols now until Wednesday, hurrah, gadding off again tomorrow aft to friends in York then off to seaside on Saturday

Oh and my lovely SIL passed her driving test first time today age 42, well done Jill

MrsMiamla · 20/05/2010 20:57

dizz waitrose? seriously?? that's what makes you go 'eek, meep'

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/05/2010 20:57

HP - I thought the jug of Pimms would lure you in early tonight

dizzydixies · 20/05/2010 21:03

miamla - considering the most excitement I had today was a filo pastry tart thingy made by my friend, yes, Waitrose makes me meep we don't have them up here, the nearest one is Edinburgh and trying to get DH to let me into a supermarket on a day trip is normaly a no no! I've bribed him with a trip to Costco too [pathetic emoticon]

CrispyTheCrisp · 20/05/2010 21:03

LOL hots, one of the questions was about most popular Scottish surnames so i felt i ought to consult North of the border

I second the bottom butter for the skin. feels lovely in the morning when i remember to apply it

SO glad to hear you are making the most of your car freedom hots, must make all those lessons and stress worthwhile?

OP posts:
MrsMiamla · 20/05/2010 21:07

hots don't worry, we'll sit in dunces corner together!

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/05/2010 21:09

I was wondering why Dizzy was 'The Chosen' one

MrsMiamla · 20/05/2010 21:14

I reckon its the same as England... I'd have gone for Smith

poppysocks · 20/05/2010 21:24

Thank you so much for your musings, experience and kind words re: work stuff ladies. I really appreciate it. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to say that. Have been... at work. You've definitely made me feel more positive about the proposition, athough no mention made of it today .

You had me LOLOL oops. at your relaxing day too.

So sorry to hear about your friends' loss loti. How do you feel about the suggestion of setting a deadline?

Sorry... brain fried and can't remember anything else I wanted to say. But did want to come back to say thank you.

dizzydixies · 20/05/2010 21:26

because I can type quickly in a crisis (please see job desc!!)

CrispyTheCrisp · 20/05/2010 21:30

All i can remember was Smith, Robertson and Wilson. I think the beer has fuzzed the rest

hotterpotter · 20/05/2010 21:31

Poppy I never added my opinion before but would say go for it

Sazz yes I LOVE my car and especially the freedom it gives us to do stuff so much more easily/quickly/cheaply (well compared to the robbing railway bastards anyway) shame there is a faint whiff of sick in there now, thanks DS

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/05/2010 21:39

DH is watching Outnumbered and we have realised that DD is going to be just like Karen - I am dreading it!

We have just had a discussion about what will happen when I go in to have Hector. I think DD shouldn't come in to the hospital as I know she will be devestated to have to leave me behind when they visit. I also tentatively suggested that only DH visits me not the GPs as I want DD to meet her little sister before anyone else and he has agreed now he just has to tell his parents. Do you think I am being unreasonable asking this? I know DH understands but not sure we will hear the end of it from the ILs. I also fancy 2 days alone with DD2 and not having to share her with anyone

MrsMiamla · 20/05/2010 21:43

sounds perfectly reasonable to me! I have every intention in putting my foot down with my ILs this time too ie they are NOT going to be staying with us for a long weekend when Pea is 2 days old. Still got awful memories from last time of fil being an idiot and not wanting to be in the same room as me whilst i was bf, mil taking DS out in the garden in just a vest and arguing with me that he wasn't cold etc etc

so oops you tell 'em what you want! And if they don't listen... i'll get tooled up for you!

MrsMiamla · 20/05/2010 21:44

oh and as for DD meeting Hectorina before your ILs... absolutely agree with this too

you go girl!!

MrsMiamla · 20/05/2010 21:45

right lovely ladies, i'm off to bed

night all

hotterpotter · 20/05/2010 21:47

Oops if the birth is straightforward surely they will let you home pdq? I don't think you are wront necessarily to want to keep your baby to yourself for a tiny bit, but I must say that when DS was born I just wanted EVERYONE to meet him as soon as possible, especially DD Oh I am getting broody for another baby and a homebirth but have a feeling my period will be here any minute

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/05/2010 21:47

Thanks Miamla - I think I might have touched a nerve there. Sleep tight.

I am off too. Going to bath and find something to read.

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/05/2010 21:49

HP - unfortunately I have an enforced 48 hours stay due to my thyroid as DD need monitoring every 2 hours.

hotterpotter · 20/05/2010 21:51

Well in that case, and remembering some of the 'funny' stories you have told about your PIL then I think you are absolutely planning to do the right thing

Night miamla!

CrispyTheCrisp · 20/05/2010 21:59

oops i was in for 2 nights/3 days and DD1 came in to see me on Day 2. DH picked her up from the CM to bring her in and then they went home together and she was fine (same age as P). We then all went and picked her up from the CM together the next day when i was released so we all went back home together which was lovely . No one met DD1 until day 5 and DD2 until day 3. But then i can be stroppy

hotterpotter · 20/05/2010 22:03

Oh oh oh, was 'Learning at work' day today so we went to have a look at the stalls and the brainwashers 5-a-day fruity people were there, and one of them half asked me if I was pregnant FFS I know I have strayed a little from the path of HotMamaness but still, hasn't this woman ever read the 'How to be a proper woman' book which clearly states you should NEVER ask someone if they are pg unless you can actually see the baby's arms or legs poking through the bump??? This is at least the third time this has happened to me over the years, always when I am not pregnant. Do you think I need to improve my posture a bit???

oopsandbabycoconut · 20/05/2010 22:04

DH will bring DD in to collect baby when we are ready to go home - I think she will like the excitement of coming to get us.
