Ooooh, I have just noticed that my untidy internetting means I have the old thread still open at 974 odd posts!

Feeling a bit like Nick Clegg here girls, what's it worth for me to put a link to your particular party thread??? You ahve until 6pm to decide... (by which time everyone will be mightily sick of the whole thing )

GladioliBuckets · 12/05/2010 10:06

Miamla I may have been reading too many cozy crime novels but I can clearly see that your Dbro's longterm plan is to set up his own cult commune in a nice 6bedroom house in the UK. He doesn't want T around because he would get in the way of the murder plot.

No plans today but I have put some lippy on so maybe I should go out? However Kurt is v happy getting in and out of his brother's bed and pretending to snore.

This evening though I am going to a sew-your-own sanitary towel evening! Made of prefold nappies!

cyteen · 12/05/2010 10:24

You sure know how to live Glads.

Ugh. So very tired...apparently 5.30 isn't early enough for DS, who attempted to start the day at 4.45. I look, and feel, like shit.

A few more random thoughts I keep meaning to download: book of the moment in our house is Meg and Mog. I'm so happy, since I must have read it a million times myself as a child and now I get to read it a million times again. I'd forgotten how great the artwork is.

Does anyone have any tips on toddler grooming? DS is starting to look like the wild man at the start of Monty Python, all ragged curls and jagged dirty fingernails. He is not keen on staying still for either to be trimmed.

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/05/2010 10:29

Hots My CRAP party supports wine consumption, shredding and weight loss. Not necessarily in that order.

Oh, and Crisps are very important, hence my Leadership name

Here is a picture of my Cabinet collegues

Any more you would like to know?

Crispy - have you been on the gin already??

Back from a massive shopping run to the satanic hell that is Tesco as it is the only place locally that sell ridiculous things like kiddies socks (DD's all seem to have been eaten by goblins) and vests. The I looked at her new shoes and noticed they are falling apart already so we had to head back to the shoe shop and get them to replace them as is my luck they didn't have any of the same chicken shoes (cue tantrum by DD) so the great lady brough out every shoe they had in her size and showed DD all the different colours and sparkles adn DD very sanesly chose blue denim ones with a butterfly on them instead of the sequined vomit pink ones!

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/05/2010 12:15

Not yet oops but may be soon after the mmorning i've had

cyteen missed your post earlier . I can sympathise - DD2 up at 5.30 too and her curls are unmanageable and fingernails dirty - are they twins? No advice i'm afraid, just solidarity. As useful as a chocolate teapot me. Sorry

OP posts:
oopsandbabycoconut · 12/05/2010 12:37

Can I join the unmanageable hair, dirty fingers, scruffy child group. I have just bought some detangling spray and have used it copiously this morning when brushing, - it eases the brushing and makes it look like I have made an effort but still had the 'I'm being murdered' screaming. DD always seems to be into the dirtiest corner/cat bowl/in her nose /ears etc atm.

RedLentil · 12/05/2010 13:55

Pantene leave-in conditioner between washing and brushing=no screams.

Nail-cutting when asleep if poss. If not, shouting 'clip, clip, ping!' seems to work with dd1. Sedation only solution for ds though ...

I'll join the thread of whoever will 1) rid this house of novovirus. 2)bring dh back from London before 11pm whence he went on Monday just after I got sick.3)Pick ds up from school 4) Offer brilliant ideas here 5)Appoint some women to the blardy cabinet.

LadyGardenia · 12/05/2010 14:32

Freezing.

Playgroup horrors, ds2 smacked face on ground, bloody upper gum, howling, blood in everyone's cup of tea, all over the biscuits, then some other guy shoved him hard right in that spot that winds you, and you should have seen the look of on ds2's face. Waaaah. Have bought nice Comte cheese and am going to eat the entire block before anyone wakes up / gets home.

cyteen · 12/05/2010 15:20

See, the Tories are ruining our lives already! Everyone is having a shit day and it's ALL DAVID CAMERON'S FAULT.

FoghornLeghorn · 12/05/2010 15:33

Hi guys - bit of an oldie come back for a catch up, you prob wont remember me but I was on this thread way back at the beginning. Off to catch up now

RedLentil · 12/05/2010 15:36

Hello, did you all recover from the chickenpox themn?

cyteen · 12/05/2010 15:39

Hello I saw you on sweetkitty's birth announcement thread and was going to try and drag you back, but got sidetracked by pesky university work. How the devil are you and your brood?

MrsMiamla · 12/05/2010 15:40

i resign, i'm joining the crisp coalition..haven't got energy/inclination to keep the other thread going

finally admitted to self that feeling like i've been kicked in fanjo all the time is not normal. from what i've read, looks like its bloody spd. left a message for mw to call me back but feeling sorry for myself. really want some chocolate but can't face walking to the shop
did any of you guys have it?

LG sounds awful, is he ok now? well done you on the block of cheese!

nail cutting...i plonk him on my lap, switch on a dvd and chop away! he looks like he's going to save me from doing them again though because he keeps biting his nails

mum cuts ds's hair, think she uses a similar technique to me doing his nails!

red sorry to hear you're poorly

good news though... pil and their annoying habits have left the building! mil 'tidied' my bloody fridge yesterday, can't find anything now

i'm off now before i make you all feel as moany as i do

oopsandbabycoconut · 12/05/2010 15:47

Mrs - I am with you on the kicked in the fanjo feeling - I can't roll over without it being agonising - hope your MW is more sympathetic than mine. YAY for the dissapearing ILs

The Irish contingent sound like it has been a hellish day. {{{HUGS}}}

Hellooo FHLH - how are you?

Afternoon Cyteen

On the nails front - cutting them isn't the issue but they are always grimey no matter how often I wash them she is currently digging in a flowerbed using her hands with a perfectly good spade next to her! There will be tears at bathtime when I have to clean them.

cyteen · 12/05/2010 15:48

MrsM I read that as MIL had tidied your fringe. Was wondering what you couldn't find Clearly I still need to go to bed.

MrsMiamla · 12/05/2010 15:53

oops, shit, was hoping mw would be able to wave a magic wand. has yours got worse as weeks have gone on?

cyteen i reckon you might be right there! are you at work today? if you are, go and have a snooze in the toilets!

alittlebitshy · 12/05/2010 15:54

ooh new thread....

dizzydixies · 12/05/2010 15:59

hi foggy

oops/miamla - are you sleeping with pillow between your knees? only move in/out cars/beds etc with knees shut together
miamla - I had kicked in fanjo feeling throughout all the pregnancies it can just be there without it being SPD - fingers crossed no SPD for you as its horrible

been out for lovely long walk with very good friend which was distraction that I needed - I now have half the fecking neighbourhood running about in the garden and about to loose the plot at them

oopsandbabycoconut · 12/05/2010 15:59

Miamla - unfortunately yes it has although the Chiro helps a bit but he is away on holiday for the next few weeks and has been for a while already. Pushing the wonkey wheeled trolley didn't help today. Apparently I need to keep my knees together

oopsandbabycoconut · 12/05/2010 16:02

Hiya Dizzy - Hope you are still taking it easy. Although by the sound of the entire neighbourhood thing not likely!

MrsMiamla · 12/05/2010 16:07

hmm, trying to think of something you can shout out the window at them all dizz, ooh, i know... "ice cream van's outside...." and then quickly shut the gate behind them. job done!

ooh, so there's hope its not spd? brill!

oops, yeah, i just read some advice about not pushing trolleys!

dizzydixies · 12/05/2010 16:15

oops my week is up - Dh back at work so I've had the girls today and am trying to get some normality back. We have our girl coming tomorrow so I might disappear off somewhere on my own for a wee while - although she only worked half a day on Tues before going home sick and I haven't heard from her since. DH will be sleeping and then off until Mon so it might be nice to have some time to me - I should really get something done with my hair but I can't be arsed with all the chat in the salon at the minute - am not great company at the minute and don't want to go to my usual hairdresser as she's heavily pregnant so would have to go somewhere new and look rude with my head stuck in a book

Miamla - no, it might not be but I'd get your MW to refer you to physio ASAP incase the apts take time to come through - fingers crossed darling.

they're now off looking for ladybirds and eating chocolate biscuits - DH awake but am pretty sure it was my shouting and not the kids that woke him

CaptainCaveman · 12/05/2010 16:31

Hey dizzy, nice to see you on here, and I second your need for some 'me time' however you end up taking it ((((((dizzy)))))

LOL at cyteen blaming David Cameron for everything after 5 mins in power . We surely need some kind of dual-name thingy for our coalition government, in true 'sleb stylee? CameLegg has my vote

I've been very good and done some more reading today, although this has just lead to more at the general incompetence of public services per se and how Government documents get interpreted by 'experts' at regional level who couldn't interpret a body in a sack ffs, we're all doomed etc (btw, I friggin hate Dad's army, so that wasn't an intentional quote!)
