Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 18:37

do you want me to ask him if he fancies a trip up to yours?

DS absolutely exhausted but wants to wait up to see 'daD-dee'. so sweet!

MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 18:42

this is more so i've got a log of when it happened but we're finally getting a different response than 'nooo' to every question. if DS wants something he says 'dee', if he really doesn't want something we get a 'NO' with a little whimper at the end. if he's not bothered or doesn't understand the question its the usual 'nooooo'

it does mean we eventually find out what he's after now. although it is like playing a continual game of 20 questions!

dizzydixies · 19/05/2010 18:43

actually, whilst I think about it, Red has a bigger project on the go so if he travels maybe I should gracefully move over

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/05/2010 18:44

Miamla - sounds like the start of a please how yummy of him. Your pushchair story sounds a bit of a kerfuffle but worth it in the end.

MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 18:49

hmm, you might be right there about it being a 'please' To be honest i don't mind if he sticks at this level for a while now... life is alot easier with just this improvement!

do you want some fruit?
dee
do you want a banana?
NO
do you want some grapes?
NO
do you want an apple?
dee

I had to guess before his 'dee' arrived and got an awful lot of fruit thrown at me!

dear goodness...in the time its taken me to write the above, he's managed to find a roll of kitchen paper, break off a length to wear as a feather bower (sp?) and he's now shredding the rest of the roll...i'd better go

LadyGardenia · 19/05/2010 18:56

Loti did you and dh sort of act as if nothing had happened iyswim?

oops are you having an early summer?? Lucky ducker. It may be green here but it's wet, as Joan Collins said.

Cannot be bothered cooking tonight am considering Chinese, yikes, who has a nice Chinese near them that will deliver to moi? And what will I have...?

LOL at putting ds into the box. He probably would have loved it! Glad you have got sorted.

How crap this thread will be without your updates, though. Pointless, really...

QueenofDreams · 19/05/2010 18:58

Hi ladies, just checking in quickly. Not much new here still sicking a lot. DS loving his Ouma, which is lovely to see. REally appreciating my mum being here to help out as it's looking like I'm going to end up back in hospital again.

miamla T's 'dee' is very cute

MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 19:49

lady especially for you....

Date Time Location Tracking Event

19-05-2010 19.47 MrMiamla's car boot Ready and waiting for a walk tomorrow

MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 19:53

oh and you're not wrong about DS loving to be in the box! He loves being in small, dark, enclosed spaces. DH isn't allowed to put anything in the cupboard next to his bed because every morning, DS comes into our room and the first thing he does is hide in the cupboard!

qod sorry to hear you're still not feeling well but v pleased your mum's there to help

ooh and there's a lovely chinese near me... their chicken with yellow bean sauce and cashew nuts is absolutely amazing. (i used to drive to this particular restaurant from my old flat. the chinese restaurant was honestly not why we chose this area though...honest guv )

RedLentil · 19/05/2010 19:59

He's yours Dizz- my dad and bil are doing most of ours.

Shall we track him through the post? I'll start

19:5, 19: 58
19:5, 20:00

dizzydixies · 19/05/2010 20:10

Red - looking forward to explaining that parcel to DH

ladies AIBU to sit here and watch DH struggle to clean the bbq that I need for DD2's birthday on Sun? He put it away last year without cleaning it and its remained there festering away since then he's had a hard day on the course but I'm ashamed to admit I did far too much yesterday and am absolutely shattered

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/05/2010 20:13

No Dizz Not at all - what he really needs to do is light a fire in it and it will burn off most ofthe junk before he then scrubs it down. I find I have to do that every year after DH puts ours away.

dizzydixies · 19/05/2010 20:24

I think he's done that already oops - the gas cannister is out and I can now hear swearing scrubbing

hotterpotter · 19/05/2010 20:30

Think yourselves lucky you still have a barbecue, dirty or clean. We usually forget to put ours away so after six months of being half-full of water one of the legs has rusted off and we end up buying another one

dizzydixies · 19/05/2010 20:34

I think this is the route he is hinting towards but considering he insisted on buying a sodding £200 gas job and we've to feed at least 20people on Sun (don't ask) I've told him to get on and fix the fecking thing

hotterpotter · 19/05/2010 20:36

See I knew there was merit in buying a rubbish cheapy one from Argos or do you think if I'd spent a bit more we might actually have looked after it properly???

hotterpotter · 19/05/2010 20:37

20 sheesh I hope the forecast is good for Sunday...

MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 20:38

right, seeing as we're talking about bbqs... can you put your hairy trucker hats on please... DH's birthday is mid june and so far the only idea i've come up with is a decent bbq. So, what one? i'm pretty sure he thinks the ones with gas are cheating (sorry to whoever's got a gas one!)

hearing your tales of mucky bbqs makes me quite pleased DH is as OCD conscientious as he is about always cleaning it after last use

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/05/2010 20:41

Dizzy - I have been asked to do a 'cupcake party' for a hen day and also one for a 10 year old's birthday. Would this be a business opportunity you could take up in your neck of the woods? I am making the cakes in advance for both parties and then taking icing/icing bags/regal ice/decorations/ icing in various colours and a few cake examples then showing various icing style and making cut outs etc for the tops of cakes and letting them get on with it.

Miamla - your last tracking update had me thinking that the builder was in DH's carboot waiting to be taken for a walk

LG I have had to water again tonight - my seedlings are suffering and at this rate we will have no veg this summer!

MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 20:47

oops its not me posting the builder anywhere, i promise! its red and dizz

your cupcake party sounds like fun! Have you got a favourite topping? for eating, not for making! I'm planning on doing some for DH for his b'day

when i say goodnight to you all tonight, will one of you please remind me to take my contact lenses out...i didn't last night and my eyes hurt this morning!

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/05/2010 20:48

Miamla - I am the BBQ-er in our household and can't be doing with this gas lark - fire is much better

dizzydixies · 19/05/2010 20:48

Oops, I did that for L's christening and my Aunt's 70th birthday but I'm just not sure how much of a profit I'd make with the effort put in iyswim? I'd also need to get off my arse to make plans and right at this moment in time I've feck all motivation for anything

Hots - you'd think so wouldn't you it did at one point have the protective covering of the furniture over it thought

Miamla - I think thats a great idea and we're not offended in the slightest you prefer a non-gas one. the irony of it is that he chose it as it was all singing all dancing, in the sale and would be easier to clean HA!

Sazz - can you stop havingalife mucking about and get on here and tell me how to make Mr Sazz's leg of lamb please, I won't be able to do it justice however I'm thinking of bringing it out for show at some point over the weekend

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/05/2010 20:51

Dizz - she is on FB now so should appear like a bad smell any moment now

MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 21:01

cool, thanks for BBQ tips. Its a bit of a boring b'day present idea but he got me a handheld dyson thing so i reckon i'm allowed to get him a boring pressie!

CaptainCaveman · 19/05/2010 21:04

Who you calling a bad smell on facebook?

No hope of catching up I'm afraid. just popping in to say Hi. i've spent all day working on my research proposal and i think I'm about half done . Its due in a week fri.
O is covered in a raised, suspiciously chicken-pox like rash on picking him up from nursery today . Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Pass the wine someone?
