Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 21:21

dizz...I personally don't think you should do anymore than you would have done if he wasn't coming. Its her birthday so he should fit round you and your plans (but then i'm a stubborn mule!)

sorry but i lol'd re large surface area!

I"m assuming its mrOops nagging her to get off her laptop so he can use it, no?

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 21:30

ah yes, naughty Mr Oops!

I think to be fair he is checking up on me as he hasn't seen me in a wee while - he doesn't sound too well himself either so it will be good to see him for myself. He's no bother to be honest, he'll just stay in the travel lodge and chat away to the PIL, which means that i don't have to yipee!!

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 21:33

sounds like a win win to me then!

I maybe geting confused but weren't the pil being a pain in the bum about her birthday? or was that DD2's? did you get all that sorted?

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 21:40

no it was me making an issue out of it. They're coming over on fri till Tues and bringing DH's niece, 10yrs, with them. It means that we have to cancel all their clubs (already paid for) over the weekend and instead of doing something based around what DD2 would enjoy on her birthday it would have to be something that dniece will enjoy too as they spend so much time making sure that she enjoys herself and doesn't feel left out

I've got money on the fact they'll turn up with nothing for DD2's birthday and insist on fecking off to Debenhams on Sat (our only full day together) to get her something (read take dniece shopping). On Sunday the girls have gymnastics in the morning and then I plan on sticking on the BBQ in the afternoon and letting DD2 run about with her bubbles and balloons - if dniece doesn't like it she can come inside and watch tv all very hospitible in the land of dizz

on the plus note when I nipped in to see a friend today, DH's boss was there so I've manage to get it confirmed that he's off the nightshifts so I don't have to play nice DIL all on my own

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 21:45

oh yes, i remember now. I still stick to what i said before and earlier... why change your plans? at 10, neice should be old enough to understand that its DD2's special day so she'll have to just go along with what's planned. Do your DDs get on well with her?

Can you not just let them go shopping with her on Sat and stick to original plans with clubs etc?

hmm, given my current family issues though, perhaps you're best to ignore all above 'advice'!

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 21:52

DD1 thinks that the sun shines out of her. DD2 will make her mind up once she arrives and D won't remember her tbh. DD1 has a drama club on Fri evening which she is desperate to go to as she is Cheryl Cole in their next production which is on in a few weeks. Sat is out free day from all clubs. Sun they have gymnastics in the morning and DD1 already missed this week because of her wee best friends birthday party so not keen for her to miss it again - if I thought that the PIL were interested enough in going to watch and see what she can do then it would leave me time to sort house/BBQ but I doubt they'll want to DNiece is ok on the whole but completely pandered to which is a bit hard to swallow when they only see mine twice a year at most.

anyway - enough of the sodding family issues

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 21:53

DH now watching Heston and his ejaculating cakes - I dare him to ask me to make one

cyteen · 18/05/2010 21:57

dizzy I would be the same as Miamla. Birthdays are sacrosant IMO, the one day when everyone must kowtow to the whim of the birthday girl or boy. When I think back to the amount of bored times I spent as a 10yo at other family members' gatherings, I see no reason not to inflict that on someone else!

Went to the most hilarious Zumba class tonight, led by a manic beanpole who looked off her tits throughout. She was proper raving! Friends and I were all pissing ourselves and muttering 'reach for the lasers'

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 21:59

well my final word on it all is that i think DD1 should go to her drama club and that the girls should do their gymnastics

erm no! i don't think you should ask for one! I know exactly what I'd get if I asked my DH for an ejaculating cake!

arse! how did it get to 10pm already???

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 22:00

Zumba class sounds FAB!!

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 22:01

yo yo yo cyteen what the hell is zumba??

oooh i've just rememberd DH brought a magnum gold home for me earlier.... what's the betting he's eaten it? i'm off to hunt it/him down!

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 22:05

now I saw those in Tesco the other day but I felt a bit dirty for wanting it, like I was somehow cheating on the haloed white

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 22:07

right, I have to go and sort out my chest so I'm off to bed - fingers crossed that A will turn up tomorrow so I can make the house look less like a dumping ground before the PIL arrive at the weekend

night all

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 22:08

i've succesfully found both... and ice cream was still in freezer...not dh's stomach

luckoftheirish · 18/05/2010 22:09

Evening ladies i'm back ..

yikes you girlies can talk .. have skimmed to try and catch up but faile miserable due to losing the last thread i was one and you guys creating 2 new ones to mix me up ..

dizzy i don't have the words to describe how i felt when i read you other post.. only to say that you are one hell of a brave lady and been thinking of you so much..

oops glad to see that dd2 is still in tummy and hope the ice lolly went down a treat..

lg hope ds2 is feeling better.. not sure you can get the cream that crispy recommended in ireland but not sure..

thankfully we had no delays with ash cloud on our return.. the cm we took on hols treated it like a holiday so i got up with the girls every single morning.. didn't really see much of dh as he was doing a lot for the groom and had 2 golf outings/2 footie matches to watch and the cricket world cup ..

the wedding was lovely and i managed to get myself very drunk.. got back at 1.30am only to be woken at 5 by dd1 and 5.30am by dd2..

dh is now in the pub and has been since 8.30..

needless to say nothing had been changed or sorted.. my strong resolve that i had when he was away that weekend is gone and i am now more tired than i ever was...

so on that note i will attempt to go to bed and pray that i get some sleep xxx

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 22:09

night dizz
i hope you have a wonderful sleep

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 22:14

i was thinking about you today loti and wondering when you'd be back

i prescribe a night of wonderful sleep for you too. but make sure you come back on here tomorrow and we'll chat through what happened with your dh and we'll see if we can find that strong resolve again for you

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 22:15

i think i'd better wander off to bed myself now as well (especially as it looks like i'm talking to myself on here!)

night all

QueenofDreams · 18/05/2010 22:19

Thanks ladies. I feel like I'm really spreading the misery round at the moment. I phoned a friend to thank her for giving me a lift to a&e on thursday and ended up blubbing down the phone at her Ah well. DP still not back from work. Just waiting for him then will bugger off to bed myself.

TwilightSurfer · 18/05/2010 23:32

mrsm meant to say last night that i am sorry your family are being idiots hope all is well now..

glad you are having fun with your mum longway

springaporesling · 19/05/2010 07:13

Oh no Loti do hope they get over it soon and that you get something sorted out re sleep - surely the groom didn't require your DH's assistance that early every morning and .

LWFH glad to hear you're having a lovely time with your Mum and hope you can still find everything when she goes back.

Dizz give yourself a break please.

LG will second the votes for bepanthan. I loved the no hug comment - very cute. DS keeps saying 'careful fall down bang bang head'!

Red hope you are feeling better soon.

QoD glad you are getting some help sorry you are feeling so miserable.

MrsMiamla · 19/05/2010 07:24

morning loti, lwfh et al

Do both your girls nap still? if they do, make sure you get a rest at the same time. As for the cat, I reckon he needs a bit of fresh air
