Just managed a bit of a catch up. So sorry for the loss of your little boy Dizzy Hope you are starting to feel a bit better.

Congratulations to those expecting again

I am wavering on #4 just don't know what I want

oopsandbabycoconut · 18/05/2010 12:10

Back from the tedious journey from hell - Why did every old lady and her brother decided today was the day to go along the windey road across Salisbury Plain and slam on brakes evertime the army fired any weapons and drove tanks across the road next to them?? Well DH's car dropped off and courtesy car ollected - was a little when I read the paperwork and discovered the £1500 insurance excess I then drove back very carefully parked the car at DH's office and got my excess free heap back!

DD cried the whoole way back - 'mummy I don't like this car' but occasionally got her words confused and said things like 'Mummy I don't like this potty.'

Tens machine arrived, DD sitting on the sofa eating strawberry and mango then out in the sunshine

cyteen · 18/05/2010 13:15

LG how wonderful that E says 'sooze', tis my nickname y'know Clearly a boy of great discernment even at his tender age

FogLeg number 4 eh? Before I had DS I could never imagine such a thing; now my immediate reaction is 'yay, babies!' although am aware it's a tad more complicated than that IRL.

Crispy I meant to ask (from pure curiosity), have you made any further decision re. DD1's naps? I know you thought with horror that it might be time for them to go...

Boiler seems to be fixed at last, hooray! It only took a year of living here after all Perhaps if we stay another year the broken window will get fixed as well.

I know you're all as excited as me really!

lady i find bepathan works well on T's bum when its sore. we've gone from bleeding mess to just a bit red in a day with it before

hmm, the walk this morning was good but we ended up taking a long-cut ie opposite of short-cut and walked for miles and miles. glad i don't have to do anything tomorrow, i reckon i'm going to regret it, hey ho! DS had fun running wild, jumping in puddles, chasing the dogs, squishing in mud swamps (and then needing to be rescued) etc

QueenofDreams · 18/05/2010 15:03

Can't believe when I hear people talk about no 4. I reckon this is it for me. Am definitely not doing this to myself again. Sorry ladies am not in the happiest frame so will bugger off and take my miseries elsewhere.

alittlebitshy · 18/05/2010 18:34

qod i felt exactly the same during both pregnancies. Though with ds after i had the 2 bleeds i started feeling more desperate that i protect him, bugger the sickness. The whole feeling like shite for 9 months is one of many reasons there will never be an (intentional) dc3 in the ALBS household. I cannot cope with that again!!!

ooh miamla how citing!!! And how was the walk?

my ds has had an explosion of speech in the last week. he had a lot of words already but suddenly all these new ones and mini sentences are pouring out of him. it is amazing. not had that experience before as dd was v little minioops and talking from before a year and a gradual but steady addition of words and vocal skills.

GladioliBuckets · 18/05/2010 18:45

QoD Stay! It's your turn to grump!

I am hiding from my kids as usual. Have discovered that taking up knitting is not good for the family, am so cranky from being disturbed and having to slip out of my knitting universe to be a parent all the time. House is such a tip I have called in the cleaner who I said I wouldn't use again (the needy one.)

DS1 has twice cut his own hair this week - once to make magnetic iron filings (geddit?) and then just to be naughty/'look cool'. He now looks as bonkers as he is.

DD's birthday party on Sunday, she is having friends over for a brunch with bacon, eggs, pancakes, croissants and waffles!

Have decided we ought to stop calling Kurt Squirt/Norris McSquirter/Squirtacus, it's a bit mean really isn't it? Was thinking of Pod instead, as I call him Peapod too (from Sweetpea originally ). Is Pod more harmless do you think?

DH has a new job! Same job for pennies more and a bit further down the motorway but we are agreed he needs to finally quit his company after 11yrs. Looking at ancient Toyota Previas again because we've also agreed if we are going down to one car, it ought to be a fun one and these things are almost like campers with their little curtains!

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 19:32

Buckets - congrats to your DH on the new job I hadn't realised that your DD and my DD2 share the same birthday - we've been out choosing balloons and cakes today - I feel at the ripe old age of 4yrs old balloons/cake and bubbles are order of the day

ALBS - D has had a word explosion over the past few days too - its lovely some of the things she is coming out with

DH home (knackered and ruined), fed, we've been out for lovely walk, I've horrible heat rash on my chest and a girl at work had her wee girl yesterday and used the name at the top of our girl list - desperately trying not to be but not quite managing

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 20:20

dizz you've got ever right to be but definitely not
Just been peeking through your photos on fb... DD1 seems to be coping with her injuries admirably!

well done to MrBuckets! Oh and i think Pod's a lovely nickname

MrMiamla is at this very moment having a phone interview for a new job. His current one is destroying his soul....

albs i've already told you about the walk! see my rambling post of 13:53

qod stay and whinge... we all have our whinge moments so probably about time its yours!

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 20:26

thanks miamla - I just feel I should be coping with this better/quicker iyswim? the pringles are helping

Foggy - lovely to see you, hope you and yours are all well. thank you for your kind thoughts, as you can see we too were enroute to DC4 however I'm not sure if I can put myself/DH through that again so a lot of thought will need to happen first. I've always wanted 4 though

VG - hope E's bot is clearing up nicely

Sazz - hope this afternoon went ok and you're out tripping the light fantango with a huge big feck you going on

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 20:28

miamla - do you mean the one of her in her uniform on the private page? I wondered about posting it up due to the amount of bruising/bandage on her knee its just such a lovely pic of them all though - taken this afternoon in the wee garden of memorial right next to the school

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 20:57

dizz don't be daft! you've been through an awful lot. You need to let your mind and body recover at its own speed. There's no 'coping better/quicker' involved here, there's only coping as well and as quickly as you can at each and every moment, as it comes

yeah, the two photos you put up privately today. they're both lovely! Did D eat her corneto? we gave T a lick of our ice cream the other day and you'd think we were trying to poison him! He'll never believe us in a few years when we tell him he didn't use to like ice cream!

LadyGardenia · 18/05/2010 20:59

Good news on new job Bucketsman and potential new job Miamlaman.

I think Pod is nice (Borrowers) but I suppose whatever nickname your child has will be excruciating to them at some point - I can't see what's wrong with Squirt!

I have not left the house ALL DAY due to illing babba, it is not a healthy situation WAAAAAAAAAAHHH. Not being sick now but v hot temp.

Asked dp to pick up metanium on way home from work, 2 chemists had none and had never heard of it so ds2 is still iced like a sudocrem cupcake.

Yay for balloons and cake and a bit of jollity.

LadyGardenia · 18/05/2010 21:01

Dizzy I think that would be a real blow, the name thing, so don't get about it.

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 21:02

miamla - did she eat her cornetto?!? I wouldn't dare take it from her - rather remove one from the jaws of a lion frankly

VG - am so sorry, poor E. could you try Tesco for metonium or bepanthane?

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 21:04

thanks VG - I'm feeling very about it all as its their first child, she moved to a different dept a few years ago so I don't have much to do with her and I'm not party to the 'its my name' crew normally. DH certainly doesn't get it so I decided to moan on here instead

AARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH my chest is on fire. Anti histamen/ aloe vera and aftersun have not helped I think I'll be in the shower with it on cold very soon

RedLentil · 18/05/2010 21:04

Dizzy, let the emotions work their way through your system if you can. Self-medicating with pringles sounds good too.

I am the person who doesn't like them, so you can have my share too.

I hope all goes well with mrmiamla. I've been meaning to say, I had spd on and off throughout the last two pregnancies but it did wear off for weeks at a time. Hoping it doesn't stay with you as it is a really vile kind of pain.

Still wrecked here after the kidney infection last week and juggling everything while dh was in England.

I've written the tidy towns bid and want to get that wrapped up as soon as possible as there are piles of admin-y things piling up. How do I end up doing so much unpaid work?

Time to sort that out I think.

oopsandbabycoconut · 18/05/2010 21:06

Am here but DH left his laptop at work so mine is being kidnapped!

If he is done looking at cars working before midnight I should be back!

RedLentil · 18/05/2010 21:07

Oh, yay for mrbucket too.

LG - I've only ever used sudocrem or vaseline. If one doesn't work, the other usually does.

Thanks to all who threw in business name ideas btw. It was much appreciated. Did anyone have a favourite. I'm going to mull over it at the weekend.

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 21:07

Red, I believe that you and I are collectors of good causes. DH got to the stage of threatening divorce if I came home with another folder I have now decided to cut some things out - playgroup committee included and concentrate on the family first and a few things I can actually help with after that.

sorry to hear you're still wrecked, is DH home now? I used to hate pringles too however have come round to the dark side of the plain ones

oopsandbabycoconut · 18/05/2010 21:09

Dizzy - please don't try and force yourself to heal faster than you need to or it will come back an bit you on the bum when you least expect it. On the names front don't feel you have every right to feel .

Now I am REALLY being nagged - blah!

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 21:10

dizz have you seriously had enough sun up there to get burnt? but you're up there in tartanland where it always rains!!!! (bitter, wet memories of a 2week holiday in Fort William as a child)
It sounds like it would be as safe to take her cornetto as it would to take an apple from T! I really don't know how we bred such a fruit bat! He had a melt down in the supermarket earlier because he saw me put a bag of apples in the basket. I relented and let him have one! (And yes, I did pay for it! It was from a bag of pre-weighed packaged apples, not a weigh your own type thing!)

LG will DP go out again on the search for bepathan? seriously, its worked every time with T

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 21:15

hi oops, bye oops

MR OOPS... PLEASE CAN WE HAVE HER BACK IN A LITTLE WHILE?

oh red sorry to hear you're not well still. Have to admit, i've completely over-done it today with all the walking, shopping, book clubbing etc Really feeling it now but thanks for the hope on the horizon that it won't necessarily get worse. The pain is in my lower back, hips and groin tonight. hey ho, all i've got left to do tonight is sit here and chat with you lovely lot

dizzydixies · 18/05/2010 21:18

thanks oops - who is nagging at you?!

miamla - I can burn in daylight - I am a true Scot with blue skin . My chest has rather a large surface are too D loves apples as well and will eat the core and everything if you don't whip them off her [bleurgh]

Dad just been on the phone telling me he is coming up on Sat overnight too so I've gone from doing very little for L's birthday to having a housefull

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 21:18

red what about something like 'Penmouth'?
