Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
oopsandbabycoconut · 17/05/2010 20:22

Yes Dizz - I'll be up between the hours of 1 and 4ish so I can cover those.

DD in bed - 2nd night no bottle, no fuss and only 3 sips from the cup. Last night no wakeups so I guess the 8oz of milk she was putting away was surplus to sleep requirements!

MrsMiamla · 17/05/2010 20:25

well done to the bottle weaning oops, sounds like its going well. DS never had one so this is one battle we didn't have!

hmm, i'll take 5-7am before anyone else nabs it

oopsandbabycoconut · 17/05/2010 20:28

Miamla - we had the weaning sorted ages ago - but when the ILs looked after her when DH and I had a night away they gave her one at bedtime and everytime she woke up since then I couldn't get rid of them without her screaming she seem to understand that the fairys need them for the baby down the road.

dizzydixies · 17/05/2010 20:39

you guys are FAB, like her own wee guardian angels I feel awful though as I didn't take her up to A&E as I couldn't bare being back there again so soon [shit, selfish mother of the year award] the swelling went down a lot and its stopped bleeding - fingers crossed that she hasn't damamged her lovely wee (adult) front teeth [meep]

MrsMiamla · 17/05/2010 20:39

oh no! didn't realise it was because of an IL intervention! how really very annoying (trying my best not to swear!)

pertelote · 17/05/2010 20:40

Well that was a day. DH still feels like death, DD puking (though she seems absolutely fine otherwise, why why? ), boss stuck in Istanbul (volcano), boss's boss therefore in a flap and needing constant attention, estate agents ringing all day long and then suddenly asked if they could bring the first viewers round (sorry, the porn STILL isn't online).... blah.

"Today is gone. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one," to quote Dr Seuss.

Oops how rude of DH to laugh!

Miamla on the dinner-refusal question everyone-eats-the-same is quite a big factor in our house BUT contrarily I'm also with Oops... I'm still too afraid of small hours hunger. But it is quite rare for DD to refuse supper but accept alternatives - generally if supper does not meet her requirements she goes off the idea. (And doesn't usually wake up...) Though returning to main course after a yoghurt is often successful.

Dizzy your poor girl . Hope she makes it through the night without further bumpage.

QoD sorry you're having such a horrid time. Glad the provincial healthcare is helping to banish the memory of London's though

MrsMiamla · 17/05/2010 20:43

doesn't sound like you've much fun today at all pert! but are you feeling better now?

well in the absence of pert's property porn I am more than happy to confirm that her house is gorgeous!

CrispyTheCrisp · 17/05/2010 20:43

oops If you stick a skewer (or upended teaspoon ) into the spud it will cook much quicker into the centre. I too can be a tad forgetful

Happy birthday littleALBSlady{smile]

qod how are you feeling now?

dizz bless DD1

TS no wonder DH is happy

Hope the pushchair is good miamla

Lovely day here with girls able to play outside in between playgroup and swimming which is great . DD2 has taken to pushing her muzzy round in a plastic wheelbarrow for hours . Just been to pilates and am expecting my body to complain a little tomorrow

I have to go into work tomorrow to clear my desk and am having a small leaving lunch. Not really looking forward to it tbh as would like to just disappear in a puff of smoke but they won't let me . May have a little shopping opportunity at Cabot Circus so maybe not all bad

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 17/05/2010 20:49

x-post pert. Sorry to hear DH and DD are illing . Hope you swerve that one

dizz realistically they wouldn;t have been able to do anything and would say wait for the swelling to subside. Being home with mummy feeding ice lollies and arnica is MUCH better. Well IMVHO and i am always right anyway

pertelote · 17/05/2010 20:59

Thanks Crispy, Miamla. I had what DH has last week, much better now - but it is only a cold really so no idea what has suddenly caused DD to recreate Spacegirl Pukes so dramatically over me this morning. Fingers crossed it is gone whatever it was.

And you're very kind about the house Miamla! The couple who came round were very sweet, after they'd gone we looked at each other and asked "Did we look that young when we bought it?" They weren't put off by the cemetery so fingers crossed.

Any remaining fingers are crossed for a good night all round... mine starts about now I think [thank goodness emoticon] Night all.

TwilightSurfer · 17/05/2010 22:34

Dizzy I didn't take dd1 to the er when she took a HUGE rock to the forehead a few weeks ago. She's fine as I'm sure yours will be.

Sazzles you still have a desk with stuff on it???

Junk for dinner here. Lost the plot about 4 hours ago. Became overwhelmed by my stupid suggestion to DH which he jumped all over. The dealer even called to chat with me while I waited in carpool line. Started feeling like I wanted to hyperventilate as the payment would be almost twice what the car I hate is now. I hate being the CFO of this family.

Reese is just so cute today. She'll say, "want pacey." And I'll say, "well where is it?" And she'll say, "don't know." And I'll say, "go see if it's in your room." And she'll say, "okay mommy." and trot off to her room to search.

She's also gotten really good at telling us when things are "AWESOME!" She'll add thumbs up if it's REALLY AWESOME. Too cute Too cute.

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 07:12

that's so lovely TS about Reese's expressions. We're still stuck on gallic shrugs here

ooh pert, just remembered about your danger window in the bathroom! Apart from that your house is gorgeous!
and yes, in answer to your question, you probably did look that young!

crisp and if you stick the pots in the microwave for a few mins first (and finish off in the oven), they cook even faster!!

pushchair's on its way!! i've got the tracking number and everything

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 07:13

but just in case any of you want to share it's journey......

Morning all, sun shining, dd1 thoroughly checked during night and all 3 girls up. A has called off sick again so am now not sure if she's not enjoying being here or really 'is' ill. Therefore all plans for today now gubbed & I'd better go and get on with it!!

Miamla, all very exciting about the buggy lol

oopsandbabycoconut · 18/05/2010 08:18

Morning all

Dizzy - DD1 was fine at 12.45, 1.34, 2.18 and 3am before I fell asleep again Do you think that A is maybe having a 'moment' because you are home and she prefers to be doing things alone?? Not a critisim but I know a few girls who took time 'ill' everytime they had the mother home.

DD and off to drop DH's car off for repairs in Salisbury - YIPPEE a 2 hour round trip just enough time to ensure we miss any activity we might have wanted to join today!

Have a good day

MrsMiamla · 18/05/2010 08:53

had a lovely appt at GP's this morning (i was back home by 7.45!). it really helps that my GP is my old school friend

he asked me what I wanted him to do! He knows me very well and knew that I'd already have a plan for him to follow So, urgent referral to physio coming up

dizz that's such a pain re A. Do you think a serious/informal chat away from girls with her would help you get to the bottom of things?

oops, wow, i'm v jealous re your exciting plans for today!

i'm off for a tramp round the forest this morning. i may well regret it later on but its a pushchair friendly route and there will be a couple of other mums to help if DS runs off...it'll be fine
In case anyone remembers, its the same group i used to go walking with every tuesday since DS was a wee little thing. It'll be the first one I've been on since he's been walking though so hoping there are others who want to walk at the same speed as him so he can get out and stretch his legs

so ya laters

QueenofDreams · 18/05/2010 11:07

Hi again ladies.
My mum has come down from Scotland to help out. She cooked dinner last night, got me toast this morning, fed S his breakfast and hsa now taken him up to the park.
I still feel like poo. I'm really thinking I've made the worst mistake ever. I just want this to be over tbh. That probably sounds really bad though.
Going to have a lie down now.

LadyGardenia · 18/05/2010 11:18

Hello everyone, seem to have missed rather a lot, including time travel to 2030 and dizzy's new cafe, little miss dizzy injuries , oops and others about to throttle MIL, and miamla's successful pushchair bid AND TS's successful pool party (well done) and hyperventilating over car issue (stop that) and pert's house on the market and Crispy's leaving lunch (enjoy - I know easier said than done ) and lots of other stuff.

OK I realise I am not saying ANYTHING useful just highlighting that I have done a quick catch-up.

ds2 terrifically sore bottom - skin slightly blistered in one place - after succession of odd nappies yesterday. Slathered in sudocrem - is that the best thing? Vomiting during the night, pasty and sad this morning . Poor darling mite.

Mucho work to do hopefully back later today.

CrispyTheCrisp · 18/05/2010 11:28

Not here, working ....NOT

Metanium Lady - 1000 times better than Sudocrem

Qod how utterly wearing for you. I know nothing i can say will make it better so big {{hugs}}

TS, yes i have a desk, filing cabinet and cupboard i am trying to find the bottom of . My exit will NOT be like in the films when they go off with half a box full of stuff and a pot plant

Back to the grindstone.......

Ah poor little E If the weather permits, can you let him run around sans nappy for a while?

QoD sorry to hear you're (so far) having another crap pregnancy I shall be keeping my fingers crossed that it all clears off soon and you get to glow.

We are having a truly tedious morning, been waiting in for a bloke to come and fix the boiler (which he is now doing, thank god) so DS has been whinging and moaning at being stuck indoors. On the upside, he can now say EYE and SHOE (well, more like 'schu', still cute). His speech is really coming along. I like to think that explains the cruddier sleep he's been having lately.

FoghornLeghorn · 18/05/2010 11:32

I have been trying to catch up for about a week but keep getting distracted - can someone give me a quick recap ?

LadyGardenia · 18/05/2010 11:33

Metanium - thanks Sazz . Don't forget to clear out the stationery cupboard so you will have a lifetime supply of Sellotape, staples, A4 and A5 notebooks, fineliner pens and perhaps a light sprinkling of Post-It notes in different formats / colours.

LadyGardenia · 18/05/2010 11:37

Yes left him without a nappy last night, promptly did liquidy poo down legs and on carpet. Couldn't bear to put nappy on him, though, he was actually getting a sort of frightened horse look in his eye when he thought I was going to touch his bottom. Hate him being uncomfortable.

Agree vv tedious waiting for people, was it poppy the other day waiting for 10 hours or something and they arrive five minutes before the slot ends.

Foggy - don't try and catch up if it's preventing you posting, just leap in!

Queen, sorry you still feel like crap. How nice your mum has come to lend a hand. S will have fun with her.

LadyGardenia · 18/05/2010 11:38

Yes ds2 also says "sooze" and his latest word is "way" meaning away, go away. So yesterday when he meant to say "don't pick me up, please go away", he said "hug no way" .
