dizzydixies · 15/05/2010 21:39

right, am going to have to think about this and see what I can remember

CrispyTheCrisp · 15/05/2010 21:42

Oh fuck lovely miamla

OP posts:
MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 21:45

i love it that DD2 started her toilet training at the ritz!

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 21:47

thanks for the two window advice crisps!

CrispyTheCrisp · 15/05/2010 21:52

miamla i have a Maclaren Quest which is great. We have had it since 2007 when we took DD1 to Spain at 4 months and needed one suitable from 3 months. It has been trashed in various airports and used loads and still fine. Cost about £80 from mothercare as it was 'last season'

right ladies, last iron tab with OJ awaits before I slink off between some lovely clean sheets. DH and I have a free afternoon tomorrow where we'll have to go and retrieve his car/ collect his kit for his course and then debate over where to go for lunch so much that we end up coming home and having sarnies

fingers crossed for at least 7-7.30 for us all !

pertelote · 15/05/2010 22:00

Aw Miamla that's cute! I too can date my first memory precisely, though it is not as early as yours, as it is of the celebrations for Charles & Di's wedding

Crispy sounds like a wonderful day. Exactly the sort of thing that we never get round to even though we live here - truly daft. Must get out to see the elephants at least.

Dizzy don't you dare apologise. I am to have brought it up, tis a sniffle combined with slight PMSelfpity and nothing more. Hope you have a good night.

CrispyTheCrisp · 15/05/2010 22:04

Fingers and toes x'd dizz. Sleep tight

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 16/05/2010 08:05

Hurrah 7.15 wake up from DD2. OK, she didn't go to bed until 8 after a hectic day but i'm calling it a success

DH in bed, DD1 watching Mamma Mia and DD2 off making havoc somewhere . VERY disappointed in the rain today as was hoping to relax in the garden . Come ON sunshine......

pert the elephants are everywhere (well at least in central london). South Bank, Green Park and randomly along some pavements it seems. And i definitely know what you mean about not doing stuff on your doorstep - rubbish isn't it?

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 16/05/2010 09:09

awake till 2am thanks to D's coughing when DH finally falls in door and within seconds is snoring like a bog eel - makes for an angry dizzy who (is slightly embarrassed to admit) booted him and told him if he didn't shut thefuck up he was either getting divorced or murdered and I had no preference which he chose

needless to say kids all up and bright as berries, DH still dead to the world and not likely to improve throughout what is supposed to be 'our' day Peppa pig currently being played V loudly in the dining room (where the open stairs are) and I have no intention of telling the children to shoosh once today

crisp was raining earlier here, not at the minute but I'm not holding my breath

LadyGardenia · 16/05/2010 13:29

LOL at bog eel .

MrsMiamla · 16/05/2010 13:42

so dizz i'm intrigued...did he chose to shut up, get divorced or should we be sending the police round to you this morning?

crisp i agree! elephants are great! there are two by my office so i say good morning to them every workday!

DS woke at 6am this morning but DH on duty! sleep deprived ladies don't read this next bit....i got up at 11am!!!

oopsandbabycoconut · 16/05/2010 14:28

Afternoon

We went our to a BBQ in honour of the friend the passed away last month it would have been her birthday - so we partied or atleast some did - DD lasted until 9.30 with only a 45minute nap She slept until 7 which wasn't too bad. We popped out to breakfast this morning and DD has eaten an adult fry up apart from 1/2 a sausage and slice of toast. It was raining so cue tantrum about leaving the farm without animals and kissing cows

Crispy - Lonon sounds good - I want to see the ellies too

Dizzy - is bog eel awake yet? hope the rain stayed away and you are out and about.

Miamla - of you sleep, actually I'm envious of anyone's sleep. I was up praying it was labour having twinges at 11.30 and they didn't go until 5.30.

I am going for a nap now.

Have a good Sunday afternoon all.

oopsandbabycoconut · 16/05/2010 14:30

sad - my spelling is appauling - Where in the world is Lodon?

CrispyTheCrisp · 16/05/2010 14:38

Here are the elephants or eletoots as DD2 calls them . There is also a map on the website so you Londoners (and any visitors) can find themn

dizz hope you managed a nice lunch with DH and have some sunshine to enjoy. We have had beautiful sunshine (so got lots of gardening and planting done) and torrential rain (hence i am here now)

oops Ooh, hope labour kicks in soon. My friend due yesterday has said she has had some pains today so maybe i should start a sweepstake . Hope you manage to get some rest

LOL at P's breakfast, DD2 had a banana, adult bowl of porridge & raisins plus toast & marmite washed down with a cup of milk

DD's are obviously knackered after yesterday. Both went to nap at 1pm and no sound as yet

Caught up AHEAD of schedule! Sorry no proof reading so don't mind the errors:

Cyteen, Reese also looks like a wild woman, the nails and hair and typically covered in food. I ignore it and hope others don't have enough time to really notice.

Anybody notice how Red chimed in with the perfect parenting child-grooming skills? and she also had very wise words for Queenie about being easy on oneself when dealing with hyperemesis.

Hello Foggy. Miamla can you see a chiropractor for you possible spd? The hydrotherapy Oops mentioned sounds excellent.

Ataraxis my dd1 HAD sleep issues. It took lots of trial and error BUT here's what worked....putting her to bed at 7pm sharp. Seems if she stayed up any later she would get loopy and couldn't fall asleep. Very strange but now she sleeps like a dream from 7P to 7A.

Miamla BROTHERS!

Dizzy can you ask for a B12 shot? That might help you get a good boost along with the iron tabs. Oh and your hair looks lovely. Did you send me SweetKitty on FB or do I already have her on my list from ages ago????

I knew my ears were burning for a reason. I'll have to come up with some stats.

I agree with Dizzy & Oops...if there is cheese somewhere Crispy is eating it!

As for me becoming a member of the Aug08 thread...I had been a highly active member of the June08 thread until nature took a different course, then became a hightly visible member of MC Avengers with loads of support which helped me get it together and TA DAH caused me to be a member of AUG08!! An achievement I hold dear to my heart!!!

VG I always sit at the back of the class. The one time I sat at the front I feel asleep and got yelled at by the teacher.

Singapore I know what you mean when you feel relieved it "wasn't" your child doing the "bad" deed. Sorry yours was hurt though in the process.

Hotter you've been busy lately haven't you. Birmingham then Norwich...

Poppy nice to see the shower worked but sorry it got that bad. Wonder why that's not in every parenting book? It works like a charm!

Oops if only all MW could be as lovely as that one! I will keep my fingers crossed that she is all yours when Hectorina decides to make her entrance.

GB on Friday I too had a moment where I wanted to scream "STOP TOUCHING ME! STOP TALKING TO ME! STOP ASKING FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!"

Cyteen I second...or third..or whatever...Oops sleep fit advice.

Sazzles I love your potty training technique.

Cyteen cheers on the uni bit!

Memories...my earliest memory is around age 4. I think? And Pert your earliest memory makes me feel OLD!

TwilightSurfer · 16/05/2010 15:01

That took TWO bloody hours to do with all the maddness going on here this morning. Will catch up all on my life later because my life is still is full tilt with a hundred things on the plate for today...and I'm behind schedule because I've been nose to laptop screen for most of the morning.

Love to all!!!!!!!!!!

dizzydixies · 16/05/2010 15:42

bog eel was woken by my opening the bedroom blinds and blow drying DD1's hair - he has dealt with it all ith good grace and enough sheepishness to allow himself off the hook (am a soft touch where my DH is concerned am afraid) and we dropped the kids off before we went here and sat outside for lovely lunch - only steak would make him feel better apparently

home to hang out more washing, sort kit for tomorrow then we're off into the forest with the dog

TS - lovely to have you back - Sweetkitty is a Scottish MNer who had a wee one in July 08(her 3rd DD) but you possibly knew from the MC avengers? she is helping Miamla with her SPD advice as she's had it with all 4 pregnancies her wee boy Jacob was born on Wed 5th so hopefully now her family is complete she won't have to suffer with it anymore

oops BBQ sounds fab - hope you're not overdoing it lady

CaptainCaveman · 16/05/2010 16:48

I agree dizzy of your post a few hours/days back, that we have some fab names on here

Had a fabulous time up in York, utterly mucho fun and got very drunk , as did dh and all his old uni buddies. Reverted to teenagers really. Lovely meal and all. Nice to be home with my boys though.

So what did I miss in 30 hours?....

dizzydixies · 16/05/2010 18:23

Cece - glad you had a fab weekend. DH away to collect the girls after our badlyneeded childfree afternoon. Lunch, long walk along the coast walk to the forest, adult chat - lovely

CrispyTheCrisp · 16/05/2010 18:49

Glad there have been some lovely times spent with DH's. Should we be or that they seem to be when sans DC

Hiya TS nice to see you for a flying visit. Please come and sit a while, you are wearing me out

dizz your restaurant looked lovely. Definitely a well deserved time for you and DH to enjoy a sunshine lunch and romantic stroll along the beach

I have scrubbed the upper patio and cleaned the gutter out of leaves and muck this afternoon. EEEeeeewwww. Then went to have a relaxing bath and ended up with two excitable toddlers in with me . DH has made flapjacks which are delicious but i fear i may have to forgo tea

OP posts:
MrsMiamla · 16/05/2010 18:51

oh yeah baby!!! we're a two pushchair household now

MrsMiamla · 16/05/2010 18:53

well i've made a delicious fish pie. DS won't even try it and DH 'doesn't like it'

all the more for me!!

dizzydixies · 16/05/2010 18:54

well done Miamla - I'm sitting watching my beloved camera secretly hoping it DOESN'T sell so I can keep it

Crispy - bleurgh at the jobs but well done you. Restaurant is lovely and has a kiddie play bit right through the back if anyone wanted to come up for a visit and go for a meal?!
