Morning ladies

DD came into us at 5 but I persuaded her back to sleep until 6.30 when she was lovely and stayed still and snuggly until 7 when we all had to get up for work anyway.

Dizzy - Gin with your OJ today?

Off to work in a bit - DD staying with my sister until lunchtime when we will swap for naptime

Have a good day all.

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 07:43

oops hope its not too busy today and that all your customers come with smiles and gratitude

if anyone gets a chance, can you have a peak at this pushchair on ebay please, thank you!

dizzydixies · 15/05/2010 08:45

Sorry ladies but medised duely fired in, don't tell the social & she was put back to bed. I've a raging sore throat so wonder if she does too bless her.

Sorry to hear about early mornings, Oops please take it easy. Miamla, lovely news about your friend. Red, soothing thoughts to your head darling.

Sun shining so far, taking girls to boat club open day this afternoon so need it to stay dry. Didn't win euro millions so it's nearest we'll get to our own boat lol

TS hope you're ok darling x

CaptainCaveman · 15/05/2010 09:19

Morning from sunny Notts

dizzy hope you and the dd (not sure you said which one?) are soon feeling better. did you take a swig of the medised for yourself? Enjoy the boats.

miamla nice scribbling, your ds is amazing for his age . I like the teddy story

cyteen that is too early. J needs reprogramming. Send him round, I'm planning to do O tomorrow and reprogramme him to sleep through the night

gotta go get ready for York (before dh discovers I'm on mn and not packing the kids' bag as I pretended). Laptop packed. see you later xxx

CaptainCaveman · 15/05/2010 09:20

Hey oops didn't mean to miss you off! Happy auctioneering (that is today isnt'it?)

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 09:25

cece i've got T all packaged up ready to be posted up to yours for sleep reprogramming...just need your address!

oh and the scribbling link was cyteen's dp's! nowt to do with T!

dizz ooh have a super day at the yacht club

pertelote · 15/05/2010 13:49

hullo. I have absolutely no voice. DD can't understand why I won't read to her

Miamla lovely to hear about your friend. Glad she is doing well.

Nail-cutting... DD has been persuaded that the new nail clippers are 'a friendly crocodile' who needs to eat her scratchy fingernails. (He does a funny voice of course, at least when my larynx is working he does.) Bit odd but it works for now. On the other hand she has gone right off socks and slippers, will only go barefoot OR outdoor shoes - pref without socks.

House is on market, no photos to show you yet, hopefully next week...

Hope you are all enjoying your respective outings. I have had mine for the weekend, one haircut and whizz round Waitrose, now I am back trying to entertain DD by coughing at her while DH works.

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 15:29

well i've bidded on the pushchair so please don't come on here now to tell me its a bad idea

hi pert sorry to hear you're not well or is it just that you've lost your voice? I always feel worse the week before losing voice but then get all the sympathy when my voice goes. And yes, I do wallow in the sympathy even though i'm feeling lots better!

TwilightSurfer · 15/05/2010 16:01

I found two seconds with my laptop and no one asking my my assistance so HERE I AM. I have not read beyond the last two entries but will find time on Monday (yes, Monday) to properly catch up. Life is extremely overwhelming at the moment with so much being crammed into such a small amount of time. Half of it is all my fault. To add to my misery I am PMSing like a madd-woman and have to be in a pool with TWENTY (yes, TWENTY) children at 3PM. Thankfully I have wonderful friends so I will not be the only adult in the water. Oh, and it's the warm water therapy pool so I plan to attempt to relax. LOL! I make myself laugh.

I am missing you all dearly.

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 16:28

TS you're going to relax in a pool with twenty children? Now that i would like to see! good luck you crazy american girl!!

pertelote · 15/05/2010 16:47

Blimey, yes, good luck with that TS! We are missing you, hope the crazy-busy time will soon be over.

Miamla that's it exactly (well, minus the sympathy part, except for yours of course: for which, thanks!) - I've had something all week, just a cold I expect but quite rough-feeling. Now it's the weekend and hey presto, fully functional except the voice - and now of course DH has caught it. Bah. Just as well you and I didn't try to meet up though! Shall we try this week? ALBS, you around?

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 17:19

my little baby boy is all grown up... he's currently sitting next to me picking his nose and checking what's on it before putting his finger in his mouth! At least he's not trying to tempt me with his newly discovered delicacies!

pert, yes v pleased we didn't meet up! but i'm up for it next week.... thurs or fri good for me. where shall we go? you're welcome round here if you fancy it
albs, same message to you without the first bit!

sooo tired. DH been out today (back late tonight), had friend round for lunch which was lovely but meant i missed out on catching up on sleep

we're 1.75 hours here til bedtime! not that i'm counting or anything. v tempted to sneak an early night on DS tonight though!

cyteen · 15/05/2010 19:38

Miamla I meant to say earlier, we've got a Techno XT and it's bloody great - easy to fold, relatively lightweight, narrow, swivels on a sixpence. The only drawbacks are the smallish basket and the fact that it's not ideal for a tiny newborn (as not rear-facing or hugely padded). But I don't think you'll regret buying one, especially not if you get an Ebay bargain

Have made and scoffed roast veg ratatouille for dinner, followed by a great pud my friend invented - stewed rhubarb mixed into coconut yoghurt. YUM.

LadyGardenia · 15/05/2010 19:46

TS hope your partay goes with a splash.

cyteen your dp's artwork is really nice - is he doing something with it?

cyteen · 15/05/2010 19:51

Cheers No, it's just a lifelong hobby/habit/interest.

dizzydixies · 15/05/2010 19:57

TS best of luck, I'd be in a corner hugging my knees rocking at the thought of it!

boat club open day went fine apart from us turning up at 12:30 and it didn't start till 2pm!!! home for lunch and then back for a whirl on the speedboat - DH has aged 40yrs as DD2 kept almost launching herself over the side - I smugly watched from the sideline think I have a touch of the sun on my scottish blue skin - chips for tea and all 3 in bed. DH off to a wedding and I'm just going to pootle here, watch shit tv and then have an early night in clean sheets until he falls in pissed

sazz - hope Liz was delicious with you and the girls

LadyGardenia · 15/05/2010 20:07

Oh pert you poor thing hope you feel better soon.

Sazz quelle treat! I remember being taken to the Ritz for tea by my father when I was about 7 and they were so so kind to me, and I thought it was the best place on the planet. Probably coloured by the bliss of being out alone with my dad! Hope your girls found it just as nice.

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 20:08

cyteen thanks for the review! our intention is to set the luna up for Pea (ie with carrycot) and to have the techno for DS. if we're going to the park, i'll use the luna and DS can walk. if we're going further then DS can go in the techno and Pea can go in the carrier. seems like a good plan to me although i'm sure i can hear the mums of 2+ children laughing quietly at my cunning plan working!

LG in case your DS1 hasn't tried them already, can you let him know that Percy and pals aren't as good as just the pigs on their own

dizz the speedboat ride sounds brill but i'd be sitting on the side with you

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 20:08

bollocks! just lost another techno on ebay!

LadyGardenia · 15/05/2010 20:10

OMG Miamla, you are, like, that we are like, SO like out of touch on the Percy front. We're, like, on to the Reversy Percys!

LadyGardenia · 15/05/2010 20:11

Oh sweet Jesus poor MrDizzy must have had his heart in his mouth! Bet your girls loved it.

We were out to lunch with a v nice friend of mine in the National Gallery restaurant and then in the newly reopened Natural History Museum, however half of Dublin seemed to have the same idea today .

dizzydixies · 15/05/2010 20:12

pert I'm so sorry I missed you weren't well fingers crossed for a speedy and complete recovery for both you and DH soon.

Does anyone else love the fact we have a post natal thread with someone called pert, someone called Hots, a bucket, a LadyGarden and one of the best cartoon characters ever?!? I really should put some more thought into my user name

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 20:12

double bollocks.... just broke my own ebay rule about increasing max bid in last few mins

i'm staying here until its finished now...

just need to be patient a few more mins

i bet you're all riveted by this but by typing here i can't check ebay

right

i wonder

do you reckon its finished now?

can't resist it any more...i'm off to check but not increase my bid anymore.....

dizzydixies · 15/05/2010 20:14

MrsMiamla · 15/05/2010 20:14

what the hell is a reversey percy??? you're all twisted! apart from you DS1 (in case he's reading this!) he's a cool kid for liking percy pigs in the first place!

eurgh, just had a cola flavoured cow

they're just wrong
