We filled up a thread without even noticing!

Primary school outcome for dd today . They say that the emails will be sent out by 6pm (though may take longer to get through to us).

Have had a very busy weekend, so too tired to post much. Spent over 4 hours driving today in order to go and look at a garden bench at the only garden centre we could find with it on display! Was nearish to my parents, so combined it with a trip to see them - first time since last summer's debacle.
Anyway, bench wasn't as comfortable as we'd hoped, but it might have helped us indirectly to find the right one.

ronshar · 03/05/2010 22:36

That long driving to look at a bench? Are you mad woman?
DH would tell me to go jump if I suggested that kind of trip with the children in the car
We struggled round Sainsburys today. Only 5 mins down the round

I have finally got the videos of H on my FB. If you want a giggle have the sound up and you can here H giggling her way round the bars!

HMM no idea of that part of the country. Myjob will probably know better.

Nice name Coconutfeet.

Pistachio. I didnt know you were so young. In case I forget in the excitement, have a wonderful birthday on Thursday.

50ftQueenie · 03/05/2010 23:53

Hello! Had a very busy weekend. Been lentil weaving with the NCT and had my first BFC tutorial! And visiting friends etc.... Will catch up in the morning. Am sleeeeeeeepy.....

KSal · 04/05/2010 08:28

Oh I am fine, just tired with achey hips (which worries me slightly)... the sickness has thankfully passed. Can't believe i am 17 weeks already!
DH is going away at the the end of the month for 3 weeks, then back for a week then away again for 10 days. I am dreading it, but plan to take a week off work and stay with my mum during the main bit. Then it will be over for the forseeable. Its really hard for him too being away from Emma but its hard to see it like that at the time

Glad to hear that Q is getting better. I dread chickenpox but it seems inevitable with Em at nursery.

50ft - hooray for finally staring your NCT training. I am wondering what can be woven from lentils - maybe a fetching sun hat?

spent the day at whipsnade zoo yesterday battling the elements. after running for cover from the second hail storm of the day i begged to go home... such odd weather.

StarExpat · 04/05/2010 08:29

Pistachio, I turned 31 in October and it seemed like I had just barely turned 30!! I think it's because Q was born the day before my 30th so never really felt the whole turning 30 thing as Q stole my thunder

csws I agree that is madness to travel that far to look at a bench! I hope you get the right one, though.

Q is feeling really good this morning! Only itchy part left is his scalp. My cm has an ofsted inspection coming up soon. It's such BS. I never look at ofsted reports for anything because they get a very small picture and focus on paperwork... and basically their opinion means zero to me. Our school always gets "outstanding" from ofsted... but I still think they are useless, except for health and safety checks.

pepperrabbit · 04/05/2010 10:04

CSWS - make the most of these jolly trips with just 2 children . Seriously - you went to look at a bench that far away?????
I'd barely travel that far to assess a new husband....

StarExpat · 04/05/2010 10:18

LOL pepper!

ronshar · 04/05/2010 11:50

Pepper I hear you on that one

Star, ofsted is bollocks.

50ft. At last you are one of the coven

Ksal, as this is you second pregnancy your body will stretch much quicker and likes to shout in protest. Dont worry it doesnt mean you will get the thing that starts with an S but I cant remember

DD1 went off this morning on school trip. Not back to Friday. I was os proud of her as she went off without any fuss. Mums and children crying everywhere. They are 10 fgs.
To make matters worse bloody pushchair broke this morning. Stupid thing. Dont ever get a bebeconfort Loola. Nothing but trouble.

ah you see that makes me feel better - its pain very low in the back, but not in the middle of the pelvis. It seems to help if i keep my hips in line when i sleep.

I went on a school trip to the brecon beacons when i was 10... i clearly remember going off in groups of 4 (without teachers) on walks for an entire morning/afternoon where we had to read maps and take compass readings etc... can't imagine that would happen now!

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/05/2010 12:33

Is the pain in your bum and sometimes radiating down your legs a bit KSal? Could be sciatica if so - I've been plagued by that this pregnancy.

If I said that the bench cost £600 would you understand why I wanted to try it out before buying? I now want to drive to henley-in-arden (about 1 hr 40 each way) to look at another one .

OP posts:
StarExpat · 04/05/2010 12:38

oh that does make a difference. Not only would I not drive that far, but I also wouldn't pay that much for one .
Henley is a nice day out.

I hope it isn't sciatica, ksal How horrible to deal with that and 2 kids, csws Especially with all that driving!

ronshar · 04/05/2010 12:51

Spend less time in your car CSWS and the Sciatica will be less
I am now thinking of all the shoes I could buy with £600.
I would'nt waste money on something that will get mouldy in the garden, not while I could buy a pair of Louboutin.

They have gone to a PGL, which DD reliably informs me means Parents Get Lost! Lots of out door things & zip wire climby things. Sounds brilliant.

Ksal try sleeping with a pillow under both your knees at night. Helped me up until I couldnt lie on my back and then had to sleep with pillow between my knees with me on my side.

Pistachio, teaching uurrrgggg. Good luck.

StarExpat · 04/05/2010 12:54

oh, our 10 year olds did that last week - in liddington. Used to go to osmington bay, but liddington is a newer site, so a bit cozier, nicer for them to sleep in..etc.

KSal · 04/05/2010 13:04

I remember you mentioning the sciatica before CSWS... sounds horrible. A colleague here had it in pregnancy too and had an awful time of it in the last few weeks.

I don't think it is that, thankfully, as although thpain is in my bum it stays in one place and mainly on one side.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/05/2010 13:08

Ho ho ronshar.

star - henley-in-arden is in Warwickshire. Is that where you meant for a nice day out, or were you thinking of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire?

OP posts:
StarExpat · 04/05/2010 13:11

Was thinking of Henley on Thames (I think)... you know, where the boat races are held...
oops

StarExpat · 04/05/2010 13:14

I know nothing of "shires" really, except the shire in which the hobbits live...

I just know the henley I was talking about isn't too far from me... certainly not warwickshire as that doesn't even sound remotely familiar...

ronshar · 04/05/2010 13:18

Aim to amuse CSWS.

Star dont worry I had no idea where that place is either. I have lived here all my life.
I dropped Geography as soon as humanly posible at high school.

I can't see it either Ronshar... I feel like a facebook stalker! I used to be a gymnast during primary and secondary (high school ) school, so I always love seeing stuff like that. I'm not stalking you, honest.

Sorry to hear you've been poorly, myjob

Glad you enjoyed your course, 50ft. Tell us more about it!! And how do you weave lentils ?

Will be back later..... I have to collect DS from school soon. The tutorial was good, Sunday morning I was co-manning the baby change/feeding tent for the NCT at the Sweeps festival in Rochester. I even took my knitting.....
