I'd cut his fingernails first!
Completely overwhelmed here by all the end of term parties/show and share/ teacher collections and general admin for the whole family at the moment.
Tomorrow is "snail day" for DS1 FFS. I have to go and get snails from the garden, keep them alive, get them to school, then they bring the bloody things home again .
DS2 decided he was scared of the dark at 4am this morning so we were all up....
DD has taken to screaming for up to 2 hours at bedtime every night.
DS1 has the devil in him and winds them both up and is beyond tired at the moment.
I am sooooo looking forward to a day in the office tomorrow!

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/07/2010 21:04

Even I want to live in imaginary csws world!
Dh going to Greece for 3 days next week, and I don't think wibbling wreck is extreme enough a description! Hopefully J will suss out day vrs night by then .

How is Q today star?

OP posts:
50ftQueenie · 14/07/2010 22:03

Oh CSWS. I really wish I could drive to come and give you a break. We can still come up at the end of July.......

StarExpat · 14/07/2010 22:11

His nails are clipped. Blood was from further in the ear . Nurse who did his jabs today had a look and saw no blood. But I went for drinks with colleagues/friends tonight and dh said Q vomited while walking outside. No idea what's going on.

Pepper and csws 3 sounds like a circus. Well done to both of you for your juggling skills!

ronshar · 14/07/2010 22:34

CSWS what days are MrCSWS away next week? My sinus op has been cancelled so I have time to spare so to speak. I can come up for a few hours but will have to be back by school time. Wednesday is the best day for me but could do Tuesday?

Star leave poor Q alone. The biggest thing you should put in an ear is an elbow. If you must clean, use a bunched up tissue. Never an earbud.
About his fingers I would give him some Arnica and be gentle with them. I shouldnt think they are broken, as someone has said the bones are still bendy at this age.

Three children are easy, what are you moaning about??
ronshar is currently rocking herself backwards and forwards in a corner at the thought of 5 weeks of summer holidays[scream]

Honeymoonmummy · 14/07/2010 23:16

Poo just lost my post bloody iPhone can't be bothered to type again, hello all!

Honeymoonmummy · 14/07/2010 23:18

Oh yeah, new thread! C'mon csws, it's not like you've got anything else to do ... Has ds2 got reflux or dairy probs?

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2010 09:49

Why has your op been cancelled ronshar? Dh away Mon-Wedns. We have stuff on every morning, so shouldn't be too bad once we have actually got out of the house. It's the getting out and the getting everyone to bed that will be the difficult bit! And the school run in the afternoon if it coincides with the boys sleeping and/or J wanting to feed, which it inevitably will .

You're right hmm, we do need a new thread!

I suspect yes re milk intolerance, but I'm dairy free already to establish a baseline and will then eat for a day and see what happens.

50ftQueenie · 15/07/2010 10:19

Ooooooo!!! Exciting! A lovely package with something beautiful and tiny inside has just arrived!

CSWS - We need to come and visit.......

ronshar · 15/07/2010 11:29

CSWS I shall take that as an hint not to visit next week then!
Seriously though. You have just had a baby, who isnt sleeping alot at night. You have two other children to look after. Dont over extend. You dont need to go out every day. You will be knackered with no way of catching up on your sleep.
Can people not come to your house?
I am speaking from hard experience. Three are hard work. Especially for the first couple of months.

50ft. Has your shopping ban finished then

50ftQueenie · 15/07/2010 11:39

Shopping ban? Ho ho ho ho! What shopping ban was that then? I am going to HAVE to ease up on the shopping after this month anyway but part from lent (which failed miserably) I had totally forgotten if I was meant to be on a shopping ban! June and July were bumper months!

StarExpat · 15/07/2010 12:51

Q just tripped and bashed his head on the corner of a door frame at a playdate. wtf is wrong with me? Do your dc get daily bruises/scrapes/other....?

Yup, star, Matthew gets at least one or two big bumps every day. Today they both fell off the trike at different times and have nice bruises to show

And it is ALWAYS Matthew's head that gets the bumps... Not sure how many brain cells he'll have left by the time he gets to school

StarExpat · 15/07/2010 19:50

Thanks so much for that. it's prob the age like you say.
More blood from ear. Called dr - not concerned. Def coming from in the ear an not a cut iyswim. And crusty dry wax coming out after his nap. Nurse looked in yesterday and saw no blood or infection. It's definitely bright red blood. It's not sitting right with me at all sorry prob over reacting but not normal IME.... 50ft you said M does this a lot - does she get deep in he ear and scratch? I just don't see how he could get his fat finger in far enough. Where I wouldn't see with a flashlight /torch.
Sorry I know I'm moaning abbot aomethig quite minor compared to csws' circa (embarrassed) Still cant find bracket buttons on iPhone!

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2010 20:22

This is what you need star . But yes, all quite normal. Dd if anything gets more bumps than ds, so def still a long way to go yet!

ronshar - I so do need to go out every day! Dc are much happier and much easier to control when out and busy. And Mon & Tues are both just lll meetings, so will be relaxed and pretty easy. Wedns is a toddler group that I need to go to to exchange details with a nice nanny who I want to have playdates with over the summer. And Tues/Wedns dd is on school hol scheme so we have to be ready and out anyway, and we'll just carry straight on from there.

My clever boy managed a 4 hour stretch last night . Hoping (though not necess expecting) for the same or better tonight.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2010 20:26

Oh you asked the other day about feeding star - it hasn't hurt me at all this time (or last time when I was still feeding dd).

Is much easier to type one handed on the keyboard of my new imac than it was on my old macbook with sticky keys .

OP posts:
StarExpat · 15/07/2010 20:52

Lol csws I might make one out of a cloth nappy that I have
Glad feeding isn't rough. You can enjoy it!

50ftQueenie · 15/07/2010 21:13

Star - it tends to be on the outside, but boy does it pour out! Sometimes I can't see where it's coming from and only find out when it's scabbed up. But they have teeny tiny fingers that can get into tiny spaces...... Martha can get her little finger in her ear up to he first knuckle. Niiiiiiice. Oh and today Martha 1) fell over and grazed her knee, 2) fell on her bottom and bruised it, 3)banged her head on the bed, 4) Squashed her fingers in the living room door, 5) stubbed her toes on the door and 6) bit her tongue which made it bleed a bit. DS is still covered in bruises and he's 7 in 16 days! And don't you dare put one of those on Q! Poor little boy will be psychologically damaged.....

CSWS - Awwww.... Well done to teeny tiny J!

StarExpat · 15/07/2010 21:32

Thanks 50ft poor M! She's had an adventurous day at least!
When he pinched his finger in the door handle the other day,I of course did it to myself to find out how much it hurt and the extent of the damage. His finger is totally back to normal. I, on the other hand, have a purply black section on my fingernail, a Mark on the other side and it hurts to touch it! I don't know WHY I feel the need to totally empathise....

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2010 21:35

star my lovely - you are mad as a box of frogs!

OP posts:
50ftQueenie · 15/07/2010 21:38

Oh Star... you are a silly billy! I see it this way.... I went through that when I was a toddler, I slammed my fingers in doors, I bumped my head, I grazed my knees and now I'm an adult, I know better so I am spared the pain!

StarExpat · 15/07/2010 21:43

Lol I have no idea why I do it. I don't fall down hills... Etc and didn't knock my own head on the doorframe today but when it's something I'm unsure of I feel I should have to experience it. But I need to realise that thus doesn't take the pain away from him at all...
