I can't see the spots very well in the photo. But I can tell you that Q's started out looking not so bad and not like cp at all. Then they got worse.

But, it may just be a viral rash. Either way, I'd get it checked out. But, I tend to over react
Ronshar??

csws - lol at the sandals and socks.

Honeymoonmummy · 16/06/2010 21:27

Star, I've got a cold and sore throat, which is what she's had, so I think I have got it. I'm off to bed anyway as I'm knackered, NHS direct calling back within the hour so I've given them DH's number. Thanks guys x

ronshar · 16/06/2010 22:06

HM. The most obvious test is the glass test! Do the spots disappear when you roll a clear glass over them? If yes, then it isnt any thing too nasty.
Jenwa is most probably right. If P doesnt have a temp any more then it is probably a viral infection, especially if you have it as well.
Keep an eye on her temp, make sure the bedroom window is open for cool air.
See how she is in the morning.

Star, you over react!!! Never
How is DH today? Any more cow bag at work news?

Pepper sorry I completely forgot to ask you you are.(shame) Are you a little sore or all recovered ok? What do the docs think is going on then?

KSal · 17/06/2010 10:31

Ronshar i am very envious of your festival trip. DH is off to glastonbury in a week or so, of shich i am also very jealous.

I am far too tolerant... he is only back for about 10 days and i am letting him go to a festival in the middle of it! Thing is he hasn't missed a glastonbury for about the last 15 years or so, so i wouldn't feel good about making him miss the 40th anniversary!

CSWS, saw on FB you have had a bad night - hope you're not having too much of a nightmare.

HMM, hopefully its just a viral rash, Emma has had a few of them when recovering from bad colds. Nursery usually get uptight about it (understandably) and i have taken her to the docs a couple of times just to check (I probably won't again) and the doc says what Ronshar says... make sure its a blanching rash, i.e. dissappears when you press it, and its probably a viral rash.

Hello all,
myjob - DS1 has 3 pairs of trousers and 3 sweatshirts - in the winter term you'll find the polo shirts stay pretty clean but the sweatshirts get trashed - depends how often you want to do a wash - but with only 2 if you've put yesterdays in the wash, then there's a breakfast/cat/sibling incident in the new one before school it can go pear shaped The only thing we have 5 of is pairs of socks
ronshar - I am much better thank you, bit sore/bruised still so worked from home today. They don't know what the problem is but I am so relieved they ruled out the C word completely - they think it's IBS triggered by the hideous tummy bug we all had repeatedly in spring. I have an acquaintance with advanced ovarian cancer and her one piece of advice, months ago before this started was that women in their 40's do not suddenly develop IBS..... hence why I had all the tests they offered.
DH is literally at the end of his tether tonight, a week of full responsibility childcare as I can't drive yet and haven't been able to pick up DD, has driven him to the edge.... he's stropping around the kitchen, barely speaking because he had a complete fit at DS1 over his reading, and HAS to have the last word and it all escalated and I had to intervene before he carried DS1 off to bed at 6.30 - which is not what I mind, but he was filthy and really needed a bath first....
CSWS - hope you have a better night tonight and got some rest today with DH back.

StarExpat · 17/06/2010 20:14

Would 50ft and myjobs like to meet up with star and baby? If you already have things planned, it's ok, just thought I'd butt in ask

pepper I hope things get better for you soon. Could you go into your room, turn on some music or put in earplugs and go to sleep while dh sorts things out in his own stroppy way?

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/06/2010 20:23

No rest yet pepper, but he only got back at dinner time!
Thanks for thinking of me KSal. Was knackered and in a lot of pain last night, and dd messed around for hours after I put her to bed and woke ds up who was then screaming and wouldn't settle without some nurofen, and then grizzled between 4 and 5 this morning, and then dd got up at 6:15! It was her school trip today and she was worried about missing the bus! Was worried that ds might be coming down with something (poss chickenpox as he was exposed over half term), but he seems brighter this afternoon, so who knows?!

How is Poppy today hmm?

coconutfeet · 17/06/2010 20:55

Pepper - Great to hear that they've ruled out the C word. You must feel a huge relief if that's been hanging over you all this time. Hope you feel better soon.

Ronshar - I'm also jealous of your festival fun. It must have been great to get away from everybody and just let your hair down. I've not been to a festival since I went to the Isle of Wight one a few years ago.

HMM - How is Poppy? We've got horrible colds at the moment as well. Been going on for ages too.

StarExpat · 17/06/2010 21:08

csws what a nightmare for you.

what are you all doing for dhs for father's day?

coconutfeet · 17/06/2010 21:23

Sounds awful CSWS. I wish I was closer so that I could come give you a bit of a break.

Where did dd go on her trip? I took our year group to the Science Museum yesterday. It lovely to see the children having fun outside the classroom but I was pretty tired last night.

Father's Day is also dp's birthday Star so I've had to stock up on all sorts of goodies. He's away on a stag weekend (third year in a row he's been an a stag do on his birthday ) and not back till Sunday afternoon so we're not really up to much.

StarExpat · 17/06/2010 21:28

Sounds fun, cf
We had a fun sports day today -so tired from being in the sun running about for so long. Henry Winkler comes tomorrow and dismissal at half day before lunch! Hooray! I will miss this group, though They made the most lovely memory book and gave it to me today.

csws do you want me to come to you on wednesday next week? Anything I can do for you?

We haven't heard from dd's school yet, so I don't even know what the uniform is!!

I think I'm going to get my parents to come and stay for a couple of days next week to help out a bit. Will be stressful in many ways, but hopefully they will be on best behaviour! So thank you for your offer star, but Wedns is one of the days that they can come, so won't be necessary.

We're going out for lunch on sun with the in-laws for fathers' day. Just to a Toby Inn, so nowhere glamourous, but at least we should all be able to eat adequately there.

Henry Winkler - cool!

School trip was to here cf. Tis a good day out, and dd had a ball, though was VERY tired by the time she came home (as much due to the lack of sleep last night as the trip itself).

Have fun at the 50fts myjob.

Have soaked my feet for ages in the footspa (which never gets used) tonight, and then dh dried them and rubbed some flexitol in for me, as they are in such a terrible state. Now that that's mostly soaked in I'm off to bed.

Myjob. At DDs school they only bring PE kit home every half term to be washed so we only have one jumper, trousers, t-shirt and shorts
each. The girls have three summer dresses each and H has four winter dresses. G has two skirts.
It is the blouses which I have loads of. Six for H and 4 for G.
They have proper shirts because I find they wash much better and last alot longer than the polo tops. Also I am a uniform snob and I think they look much better with a tie etc
M&S have a buy 2 get 3rd free. Stock up on trousers and shirts. Never have too many of those. Also they sell good plimsoles for £2.50. The girls have grown out before wearing out.
Have fun at the 50ft's.

Pistachio GET ON WITH YOUR WORK

CSWS. MY dh would never rub cream in my feet you are very lucky. Although he may do if he left me 38 weeks pregnant with two children
I would love to say it gets easier but it doesnt. Sorry!

CF I have never been to Glastonbury. Too much mud for my southern softy body to cope with.

Pepper that is good news. Not the ibs but that it isnt cancer. Did they tell you to try and manage your stress better? Thats a laugh with 3 children!!!

Sorry go to go rabbit small boy disaster.

StarExpat · 18/06/2010 14:47

what are plimsoles?
Kids home at 11.15
Henry Winkler this morning
Loads of food and dessert just now at pot luck mmmmm
It's a good day.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/06/2010 18:16

Plimsolls = sneakers star

OP posts:
StarExpat · 18/06/2010 20:15

I thought sneakers/tennis shoes were called trainers in the UK? Are Plimsolls the children's version of "trainers"/sneakers?

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/06/2010 20:22

If in doubt, wiki it!

OP posts:
StarExpat · 18/06/2010 20:33

ohhh, those are keds
or converse like shoes. I get it now. Sneakers are trainers.

StarExpat · 18/06/2010 20:38

wiki is wrong. Those are not sneakers. Nor are they trainers. You can't cross train in those! They are shoes for walking around in. Keds.

ronshar · 18/06/2010 20:41

Wrong CSWS. Finally

Star plimsols are the really rather attractive black, light weight, rubber soled shoes that most schools like your children to wear as they dont mark the hall floor in indoor PE. They are good for indoor & outdoor PE.
Look in any shops school wear section or shoe shop and they all sell them.

I am home alone watching the footie. Boring.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/06/2010 20:46

I'll have you know that wiki refers to them as sneakers ronshar, so blame wiki and not me!

Dh not watching with you?

OP posts:
StarExpat · 18/06/2010 20:52

csws wiki is often wrong. You can't count on it for anything. That's why I don't wiki anything.

I'm tired and going to bed.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/06/2010 20:54

Ooh I wiki everything!

Saw a great poster name earlier cf, that would have been great for you - stanausauruswrecks!

Also saw another which has appealed to my sense of humour - Flisspaps .
