PUBES! That's amazing news! So sorry I dipped off radar for the revealing of the gender! Damn! But hurray for you! How exciting! YIPPEE! Girls are ace! YAY! Well done!

And am very very happy with your new name! Class act all round!

I've just had a large glass of rubena to celebrate! Hee hee - in memory of your old name...

Anyone got any tips on how to move a very uncomfortable internal baby? Mine is in a horrible position and it's really really hurting! Thinking I might pull a sickie tomorrow! Bring it on.

Thanks Beans and thought you'd like my name! I'm having a small glass of Tesco light white wine it's just 8% and it's obvious....

Pubes · 26/04/2010 20:02

yes I have the uncomfy baby and I've still got a fair way to go. I will change back to my old name soon I think

Beans33 · 26/04/2010 20:03

I think even if you change back, Pubes may stick... They do tend to - hee hee!

Rubes aaahhhh congrats on your baby girl. One of each - lovely xxx promise to keep schtum on FB

Veggiemummy · 26/04/2010 20:27

Hooray sorry I missed the big reveal it's an hour later here so was bed for boys and dinner time for us. DH gets a bit funny if I MN at dinner. How are you feeling about having a girl, I have to admit to being a bit [Envy]. I adore DS2 & doing so more each day as his little character is really coming out but I do feel I would love to have a girl, she'd be the most beautiful thing, and with 2 big brothers to love her. Oh well it's suffice to be happy to know Pubes is keeping the equalibrium of the planet by bringing another girl into the world.

DS2 is suddenly finding some words, he still only occassionally says mama but has started saying 'bye' when anyone leaves him, but he says it as if he's out of the Waltons or some deep south town, 'baaa'. He has also started repeating some Chinese words, not tone perfect but not bad. He is also a little less whingey and screamy which is nice and as I mentioned his little personality is starting to come through. Also last night he woke during the night sat up for a few minutes then resettled himself. Usually if he wakes it's because he is teething or unwell so I feed him to sleep this is the first time I think he has settled without any help.

Gotta go we're gonna have a game of scrabble

Pubes · 26/04/2010 20:47

Thanks everyone! And thanks for keeping hush on FB never know i'll probably tell the famkily beforehand by accident but so far i've been good.

Veggie I am very very excited about it - I was totally convinced it was another boy and thrilled with that idea as well so I never really thought about if it was a girl and now that I know I'm really really happy. I even had the boy's name picked! had never even started to think of girls names but now at least I have a very rough short list. You never know, you may have another and get a little girl
I love scrabble and we play a lot too

poisondwarf · 26/04/2010 21:11

Yay Pubes a girl! Thrilled for you! Little girls are ace - and so are little boys of course (but then you knew that). So did your MIL suss it out in the end or does she still not know?

LadyT hope the appointment went well today and you're feeling a bit better. Sounds like you're having a trying time of it at the moment - must be hard waiting to hear about the book. Fingers crossed you get some good news this week.

Beans loved your cossie story too. Classic.

spot I had a look at where the Griffin is and I think it might be a bit too far from where we're going anyway. I wanted to camp somewhere between Brighton & Farnham ish really - I don't suppose anyone has any recommendations? Mind you the weather doesn't look very clever this weekend so might not camp after all. You never know, I might end up meeting you for a brew in Cambridge!

Veggie it's a brilliant gift you're giving the LOs by giving them (well DS1 at least) the opportunity to speak 3 languages. They'll breeze through languages at school (which ones do they do in Oz?). And you wg - do you speak much German to DD? A friend of mine's having a Spanish/English baby this week and I'm quite envious that she's going to have that heritage.

katie you're doing brilliantly. I have given up smoking many many times in the past and know how hard it is, especially the boozing with friends bit. I often found puffing on an unlit fag helpful in those situations. You look a bit of a tit of course but on the plus side it's very cheap.

Kiwi glad you're on the mend - sounds scary.

Still no word from urbane? I hope everything's okay.

Right, bedtime. Na night x

Turniphead1 · 26/04/2010 21:12

Veggie I love the description of our DS's dutch accent on FB - you did it quite phonetically.

L has a few words but is very fond of manically shouting "Look look" and pointing - and you turn and there is nothing (or at least nothing that is exciting to the over 16months). Poor child did it on Sunday in the car, we all more or less ignored her only to discover that she was pointing and drawing our attention to a blimmin great big helicopter pulling one of those advertising flags. Her whole family felt shame-faced....

notjustanumber · 26/04/2010 21:16

Congratulations pubes how lovely. I love my boys too, but I would also love to have (more than one) of each flavour. Of course all children and different and equally lovely regardless of gender

Beans you amaze me with your activity, with only 9 weeks to go. BY then I was knackered and unable to do anything much without complaining. The last 2 weeks of my pregnancy, I took off work and lay on the sofa and did nothing but watch TV (sent DS1 to nursery ! )

notjustanumber · 26/04/2010 21:17

Still no news from MoM - hope you are OK MoM if you are lurking !

katie3677 · 26/04/2010 21:19

Loving the first baby words talk, I got a very definite Mummy today. She has said it before but never reallytogetmy attention, but today was definitely aimed at me .

katie3677 · 26/04/2010 21:19

And Pubes great news on your baby girl

sybilfaulty · 26/04/2010 23:53

Just looking on and saw this wonderful, wonderful news. Dear Rubes, I am so thrilled and you are so very lucky to have a lovely girl in there. Having said that, my boy gets more delicious by the day ... my 2 girls are fab and it is so nice to experience both. I was convinced for ano boy but perhaps I am not the soothsayer I thought.

My new predictions:

Summer - girl
LadyT - girl (cheating as we know)
Beans - girl
Modern - Boy ??? Someone's got to have one. Our older fellows will be much in demand.

Lovely lovely news. Well done you and Dr Pubes.

Beans33 · 27/04/2010 08:23

Morning all. Had a bit of a bad night here with my bump being in the most extraordinary position, kicking everything!
Plus went to midwife over a week ago and despite them saying I probably had a urinary tract infection and sending my pee off, I've been unable to contact anyone re the results - neither the hospital or the midwife. Driving me mad and a bit stingy when I wee. So am off to doctor this morning as am getting frustrated. Think I need anti-biotics, but nothing happening.

EffiePerine · 27/04/2010 08:44

Beans: sorry you're under the weather. Have you tried crawling about (no, really) to encourage the babyto move? Rocking on your hands and knees might take the strain off too. I felt more uncomfortable in the later stages with ds2 than ds1. Swimming (on your own) would also support the bump a bit.

Rubes: great news on the girl!

LadyT: did I miss a post about your appt yesterday? Hope all is well.

Beans33 · 27/04/2010 09:07

Thanks Effie - did some of my yoga moves last night, which relieved it for a while. Will continue to do some during the day as well. Think I might just take the day off as a sickie and rest, as DD with her nanny and happy as larry, so got the house to myself. Think have been quite stressed about house etc - as nothing seems to be happening on the sale. No surveyor booked or anything. Grrr. Plus want to get somewhere rented asap so can relax on that front too.

And a swim might be a very good plan this afternoon if I do take the afternoon off work!

Thanks!

x

Beans hope you feel better soon and the doc appointment can sort it out. I'm 6 weeks behind you I think but already getting uncomfortable in teh last few day trying to sleep. I've really blown out in the last week.

Where is Trace?

Hello Summer good to see you again.

Hello Sybs thanks I'm really lucky. Really excited about a little girl

Hello Effie - Lady hasn't posted but I text her yesterday when I did the reveal - she's all good just busy but I think back today maybe?

JamInMyWellies · 27/04/2010 09:34

Hope you feel better soon Beans. I too felt alot more uncomfortable with my 2nd pregnancy. I also did the swimming with DS1 during the last couple of months it does get pretty uncomfy doing that crouchy thing in the water with a huge bump. Lots of on all fours will help shift the little monster, walking up and down stairs sideways will also help. Bouncing on a birthing/fit ball. Remember by this stage with Whizzer you were probably resting loads more. You dont really get the opportunity to do it with No.2.

Beans33 · 27/04/2010 09:40

That's v true, Jam - thank you! I will do that. Any tips on getting it out of breech position as well? I'm guessing all these moves help and sitting at my desk at work doesn't really!

I had a bit of a lie down on my back yesterday and Whizzer came rushing over and gave me a firm smack in the gut. Nice - thanks little bird!

Morning,
Still excited at your news pubes I knew you would tell us in the end!!!

I noticed stainesmassif who used to come on here a bit is also up the clacker (to paraphrase!). I told her to come on here and tell us but not sure if she will!!

Beans, hope you feel better soon. I am starting to feel it a bit too now, just the last week. Am getting quite tired fortunately not too uncomfortable yet. beans I thought you had finished work???

Oh spot i cross posted with you yesterday. I'm off to London on Saturday unfortunately, to meet a friend (without DS, hurrah) for lunch and a gossip. If she bails out for any reason though I would definitely be up for it and will let you know.

Beans33 · 27/04/2010 10:14

Hello! Had the quickest most efficient doctor's appointment ever! Walked in and no seats available, so was starting to think if I could ask someone to move and the doctor appeared to see me. Brilliant.

Anyway, no traces of blood in my pee this time, so clearly it's entirely psychosomatic for me! Plus the baby being breech - she said that it has got time to move, but maybe to look into a cranial osteopath - which I will do. She also said that I should take it relatively easy and take the day off work. Bloody marvellous. And she said now is when you start to get really tired, so I do need to take time out when I can. Honestly, she was so kind I nearly cried!!! Will leave DD with nanny and get some sleep in. At least until this pm. Yay!
