Hi CC

Forgot to send love and positive vibes to No1 too.

dizzydixies · 31/03/2010 10:12

will that encourage you to visit now that you know we've got one some local talent

oopsandbabycoconut · 31/03/2010 10:13

Yes it does now - it does not take alot to confuddle my brain esp. where literature is involved.

GreenGardenia · 31/03/2010 10:14

You've sold it all right but she might be disappointed as this is not quite so colourful, just an everyday tale of love 'n' bigamy! I do love a true story though, and accounts of trials.

I meant to buy one of your mum's books before - you suggested mates rates and a signed copy, can you still offer that, I do see them on Amazon though, I remembered Death is the Cure.

poppysocks · 31/03/2010 10:35

Oh dizzy I'm so sorry the pox has made it your way. I fee illogically guilty . It is EVERYWHERE round here though. 5 of the children in DD1's class were sent home with it last week. Hopefully D getting it now will be a good way to get it out of the way as everyone seems to say that the younger the better . Still waiting to see whether DD2 gets it this time. Feel that packing for our weekend away is tempting fate, but think I'll need to bite the bullet soon, given that our flight leaves this time tomorrow....

Hello no1. Well done you for staying strong and making steps towards your new life. I know it can't be easy but we're all here if/when we can help.

dizzy - you aready know how pleased I am for you. It is such wonderful news. Delighted that you and DH both made it safely home across the bridge too.

Truly shite day yesterday (bar dizzy's news). Going to be a horrible few months for us, partic. DH. Can't really go into it on here but suffice to say it's work-related and there's a lot of it about at the mo. Pleased to hear your still kicking ass sazz.

GreenGardenia · 31/03/2010 11:04

Oh poppy I'm sorry things have taken a bad turn for you. This ever-seeping shite at the moment is just beyond dire. And is so sad and difficult to cope with.

dizzydixies · 31/03/2010 11:26

ah bless Poppy but it is rife here too, just waiting to see if L will get it or has had it hope M feeling better and more {{hugs}} regards DH

cyteen · 31/03/2010 11:27

poppy What a nightmare, it's one work-related blow after the next at the moment. I really hope you all get your weekend away, sounds like you could do with it.

I'm back in the office today after a couple of weeks off, to find that there is already talk of the next round of redundancies in September So Gardenia please don't think all your excellent advice went to waste! I shall still be pursuing that course in my spare time methinks, since it seems nothing is reliable.

Shamefully hungover today, for no real reason I think I am Officially Old.

dizzydixies · 31/03/2010 11:29

re the hangover Cyteen, I'm just ruined after the terrible night with D. DH been out to have a look at the tree and the roots have all split so doesn't look like it can be replanted

luckoftheirish · 31/03/2010 11:42

ye gods we are all the wars today..

dizzy sorry to hear about the pox really hope d is ok and recovers quickly about your tree..

buckets duvet day sounds lovely hope you and kurt feel better soon..

poppy for rough times re work.. pack away and fingers crossed all will be well for tom..

vg heard that celery has good sleeping qualities too hugs..

glad you enjoyed your few weeks off cyteen about hangover and more strife at work..

oops hope dh on the mend..

well dd1 still has a rotten temp of 102 and has been crying over poorly ears .. took her back to the docs who gave antibiotics but told me to wait and see.. dd1 cried when she put the ear instrument in her poorly ear.. so have taken my own call and got the antibiotics now and have given her soon.. hope i've made the right decision ..

dh's gran still in hospital .. had ct scan so we are waiting to hear.. he is due to fly to vegas next week but is in two minds where to go or not.. know i complain about him alot but hate seeing him so distressed ..

still have no kettle and really cannot get this boiling water in a pan ts

cyteen · 31/03/2010 11:47

is a pretty accurate rendition of my face today tbh...nowt to feel jealous of, unless puking up this morning's first cup of tea really rings your bell

Poor tree I do hope you're staying indoors with her poxy majesty today!

dizzydixies · 31/03/2010 11:55

poxy majesty is down for a nap, DH is away to collect DD2 who is then having lunch and going out with my friend for the afternoon - she had asked to take them both but we told her this morning it will just be DD2 - who will be delighted getting spoilt rotten on her own poor D though.

DH and I were supposed to be sorting the house and getting the packing done for going away tomorrow but I'm shattered after being up with D since 4am and haven't done anything very gracious hosts have said they don't mind me bringing the poxy one so will see how she fares today/tonight before cancelling any plans

LOTI - so sorry about DH's gran. if it helps we almost cancelled our Vegas trip as my mum wasn't very well - she encouraged us to go anyway and we did, wasn't an easy decision though. is he away from a while? could he wait until the results of her scan before deciding? hope DD1 improves with the anti biotics - wee soul

(((hugs)))) to the whole lot of you! I wish I could send some of my lovely weather your way.

My only source of wisdom would be for the sleeplessness. This works for me so no scientific study to back it. I eat a solid protein packed meal at lunch, on the late side of the lunch hour...maybe 1. Example of the lunch: Steak, rice/potatoes/salad/cake. For dinner I have only a bowl of warm tomato soup with crackers. Seems to work like a charm most times I need it. Mind you it didn't work while pregnant. It's a total charm for the girls too.

Busy working with $$$ today. I need to figure out how to afford a septic renovation. I'm seeing signs that our septic system may be failing. As if I needed more to worry over.

Hehe TS, I watched that again recently. "Heyyyy batterbatterbatterbatterbatter SA-WING batter" Cameron is very reminiscent of a boy I had a relentless crush upon during my teenage years. Sweet geeky boys, ahhhh.

Sazz don't worry, painkillers have been taken and tea supplies have been restocked I agree about taking pleasure in the small things - in my case it's my very own small (wild) thing, my lovely cheery DS Seeing his great big grin this morning made the act of prising my gluey eyelids apart totally worthwhile.

poppysocks · 31/03/2010 13:56

Sadly not sazzles, sadly not.

My top tip for insomnia (from bitter and extensive experience) is camomile. Whether it was a placebo effect from the friend who recommended it so highly or not it really worked for me and has broken the loop for me a few times. For the odd night (like last night), I resort to the World Service on my little portable radio. Find I learn about the most random stuff, although tends to lead to v. odd dreams when I do find myself drifting off.

Sorry to hear about your girls' illnesses loti and DH's gran. My goodness we all need spring to banish these germs and all the general shite [unrealistic expectations on the latter].

Can't express adequately in a reasonable number of just how lucky you are to have sun TS.

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 31/03/2010 15:03

poppy, poppy, poppy ...

Radio 5 live! so much better than anything else to fall asleep to (except when it is football). I really miss it what with being married and living in foreign.

TwilightSurfer · 31/03/2010 16:11

Totally agree with Poppy. Chamomile tea is a total snoozer. I stupidly drank a cup around 2pm one day. OMG! It was all I could do to make it to 8pm because I was totally zonked. All I wanted to do was curl up and snore. My intentions were to just RELAX. LOL! It did a little more than RELAX me.

OK girls,

DS sleeps 7.30pm to 5.30am about once a week.

Other nights he is awake once, or wakes really early, or both

I settle him in his own bed if he wakes before 5 and after 5 he comes in with us to doze/kick until 6 when we let him get up.

But my question is that he will often have a 2.5/3 hour nap. Is this too long?

Also, is it mad to think about taking the babies camping for a night this w/e?

dizzydixies · 31/03/2010 16:50

longway, D only gets 1-2 hours but mostly 1hr during the day - then again she is used to that being dragged about the place to collect either of her sisters - I would imagine an afternoon siesta in your climate would be rather more welcome!??

is he maybe hungry? do you give him some supper before bed

oopsandbabycoconut · 31/03/2010 17:31

LWFH - DD had between 45 mins and 2 hours everyday but the 2 hour ones are primarily for my need to sleep! I find she does sleep an extra 30mins at night if she sleeps less than 1.5 hours in the day.

Steaky sends everyone her best and say she is unlikely to be around for a while whilst she conquers the world and builds her empire.

DD has just wolfed down a bowl of homemade chicken and sweetcorn soup, a slice of bread and yogurt like she hasn't eaten all day. Toys are now being told to sit still on the sofa so she can read them a story.

Poppy - that is really crap - will send lots of good vibes your way.

Sazz - SNOW???

hotterpotter · 31/03/2010 17:35

My DS also manages on 1-2 hours in the afternoon and he would probably sleep 12 hours a night if it wasn't for his noisy sister

Dizzy that is rubbish re D I really hope she perks up and you still manage to get your trip in

Everyone else who has lurgy I am sending you virtual anti-bac wipes and paracetamol-based medicine

One more day to work for me, woo hoo
