Thanks spot - and have a good piss up tonight!

I've just had a Lindt bunny and feel copiously sick. Bleugh.

SummerLightning · 19/03/2010 16:17

Good luck for viewing beans. We had first viewing on our house today. Apparently it "went well" - bet they always say that. Anyway they are showing loads of people round tomorrow so probably get more of an idea after that.
I am sure someone will like it soon, try not to take the reasons they don't like it personally - you are right there is nothing you can do about it - but at least they are not saying it's too scummy or smelly or something

Have fun spot!!

LadyThompson · 19/03/2010 16:45

I didn't win any money on the Gold Cup

But I did on the 14.40, so am about £90 up on the day.

However, one of the horses I had in the Gold Cup was 1000-1 and I had a tenner on so was rather hoping to end up £10k richer.

I am now grown up as I have engaged an accountant to look after my dubious financial affairs.

Dora, I think Rachel Johnson is going to have to be my new idol. But she doesn't trump Kirstie Allsopp.

Beans - am I official? - what - up the duff? Well, the scans I had at 6 and 8 weeks would seem to indicate so but let's see what the 12 week one says on Tues.

Good luck with the viewings, Summer and Beans.

RIght, work....bloody horseracing.

katie3677 · 19/03/2010 16:53

All of this talk of milk has got me worried. DD dropped any milk feeds about 3 months ago. I did keep trying for a while, but she just wasn't interested, so now the only milk she has is in her cereal/ meals. Is that alright, or should she be drinking more at this stage? I can't force her I know, but perhaps I should be trying to encourage her a bit more rather than just giving up?

LadyThompson · 19/03/2010 16:56

Is she drinking other stuff, Katie? If she's eating well I doubt the milk matters as long as she is taking in enough other fluids (don't know how much that should be, though!)

Indith · 19/03/2010 16:57

You lot don't half talk. I've lost the plot already. If you're not getting involved in all out warfare you are jabbering on about pregnancy, betting, milk, house selling......can we not just have a nice slow discussion about Peppa Pig or something so I can keep up?

I am feeling a little of the pg ones. I don't want to be pg now, certainly not I need a break and some sleep but I have always wanted 3 or 4 children and realised the other day quite how much I don't want dd to be my last. The thought that she may be the last baby to wriggle and kick me from inside, the last baby I give birth to, the last baby to snuggle and fall asleep on me, the last baby I feed.....nope. Absolutely not I need another one at some point!

Milk: Dd feeds about 3 times a day I suppose. She often asks for milk but just latches on for 5 seconds then scampers off so I am starting to refuse her at times. We have been working on night feeds and are down to 1 feed a night now although she still wakes more often than that!

Have fun viewing and selling houses

Been enjoying the better weather here and spending lots of time inthe park. Off to a nice country park type place this weekend to feed the deer

SummerLightning · 19/03/2010 17:08

katie my friends DD is the same, she won't drink milk, her HV told her just to make sure she gets plenty of dairy in her diet.

Indith · 19/03/2010 17:10

Katie I wouldn't worry, fluids can come from other drinks and from food and so long as she has a good diet then she'll be getting calcium form other sources too. Ds stopped feeding at 13 months and refused to drink milk from a cup for several months after that.

TheInvisibleHand · 19/03/2010 17:12

Katie - I wouldn't worry, DD gave up on milk at around 8-9 months (complicated by allergies, but she just decided she didn't fancy it anymore, BF included). Not much you can do about it. If she's eating plenty of yoghurt, cheese etc she'll be getting her calcium and I wouldn't worry too much about fluid intake - DD took ages to drink anything at all, but loved fruit, so I figure she was getting plenty of liquid that way.

TheInvisibleHand · 19/03/2010 17:15

Oh and nice to see you Indith - know what you mean about another one. Would love one more, but I think our circumstances probably mean we're done. Slightly about the idea.

katie3677 · 19/03/2010 17:19

Phew, thanks everyone. You lot are much more helpful than the HV's! She does drink loads of water and apple juice and lovesher yoghurt and cheese so hopefully she's ok. She's hardly fading away anyway.
Right I'm off to this dreaded hen do at sparrows fart tomorrow and am about to give the DC's supper and then head to the pub for the annual beer festival, so shall not be logging back on for a bit.
Hope you all have great weekends.

Indith · 19/03/2010 17:21

Goodness Katie that sounds like a social life that does! Have fun.

EffiePerine · 19/03/2010 17:25

Hello Indith . I wouldn't worry about keeping up. I like the detailed posts but I also like Beans swooping in on her batwings, eating chocolate and careering off again

Indith · 19/03/2010 17:28

I seem to have misplaced my batwings but I do have chocolate. I shall do what I can to emulate Beans

Veggiemummy · 19/03/2010 20:21

Oh I'm so full. We just had our weekly Friday night takeaway and I was so excited about it I ate way too fast. Now I feel a bit sick.

I had a lovely afternoon with the English lady I met here via MN. Unfortunately we were running a bit late because just as we were leaving I was packing up the dishwasher so it's door was open and DS2 came running into the kitchen tripped on goodness knows what went flying and unfortunately the sharp edge bit of the dishwasher door broke his fall. Poor little fella it really hurt him he screamed so long and didn't take a breath until I blew in face to make him. Immediately, a big bruise came up next to his eye and a teeny bit of broken skin. He's seems fine now though.

Strange thing happened on the tram today. A man was kind of chatting & smiling at DS2 he even showed him a picture of his child. Then he took out his phone and took a photo of him. I was so shocked I didn't know what to say, is that a bit weird or am I just being paranoid.

Tortoise the only other forum I'm on is one here in the Netherlands for expats. It's hosted by the American school of the Hague and has a lot of Americans on it but I just my RL name no biscuit. Why do you ask? Is there someone out there trying to impersonate me?

LadyThompson · 19/03/2010 20:21

Lovely to see you, Indith. Also, you are young enough to have more kids in a few years time, you aren't an old gimmer like me

This is just to say au revoir for a few days - I FINISHED my work, it's gone off and let's hope he's happy with it this time I am off to a million different meet ups with friends (and scan on Tues) so won't be on here until Wed.

Be good whilst I'm gone Have lovely weekends.

Veggiemummy · 19/03/2010 21:18

Rubs where are you? How was the scan?

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 19/03/2010 21:19

Has anyone heard from Rubs?

Rubena · 19/03/2010 22:58

Hello Veggie,
Scan was all good thanks for asking! Babyrubena2 was very very antisocial so I actually had to go for a walk and get coffee then come back so they could finish off the scan as they still had a few area's to cover! The caffeine did the trick and all measurments etc are normal. DH even counted fingers and toes!
I was planning to go off and do some shopping before returning to pick up dh but it took so long I didn't have time and ended up filling in some time at the hospital instead. That said, I know that hospital inside out now
That is really odd about the guy on the train - he probably just thought ds was cute but I'd be a bit weirded out myself A Japanese passenger did that on the plane to me once and I was really shocked, then embarrassed and then pissed off later but I think it'd feel stranger if it was my little dc! I wouldn't worry though.

Have a nice time in London lady - if you are lurking. I meant to say thanks for the tomato tips, they will be staying indoors for now!

Hello Indith!

I wouldn't worry about the milk thing - as long as they look healthy that's the main thing - you'd know if something was wrong. Probably should cut ds back on a bit and he might eat 3 full meals

Anyway, off to bed I think....

KiwiPanda · 20/03/2010 08:27

Morning all! FINALLY had a decent night - DD woke up once for a feed at about 4am but that was it. At last! SO feeling a bit less haggard today.

God knows how much milk she actually has. When she's at nursery she has usually one night feed, one morning feed, one evening feed and a 5oz cup of expressed milk in the day. But when she's with me I might as well invent some kind of larger-baby-feeding sling cos she pretty wants to do it all day... agh...

Aubergines · 20/03/2010 08:46

Glad you had an ok night Kiwi.

Katie - DD2 won't drink milk either. Until a fortnight ago she had one BF a day but now nothing. I asked the HV at her 12 month (?!) check this week and she said the same as the others on here - as long as she has a calcium rich diet and drinks other fluids she will be fine. Problem is my DD2 hates dairy in food so HV suggested some calcium chews from the chemist.

Rubes - glad scan went well. I know you aren't telling us the gender but did you get confirmation for yourselves?

Daisy - if you are lurking. I am so sorry I forgot to comment on your situation in my last posts. As the others have said we will miss you so much and u don't understand how your dh could take offence at that post. I really hope you can cone back soon.

And Trace I hope the GP was helpful. I am so sorry you have been struggling. Depression is a horrible thing and you are amazing to keep going as you do. Thinking of you.

Rubena · 20/03/2010 09:38

Hello Aubi Yes we got conformation! (Well 98% accuracy is good enough for me!) I'm really only concerned about keeping it a surprise for my family so if I do tell anyone else other than them - i'll definitely be telling you lot on here!

Oh Daisy I hope you are lurking. I'm also hoping you can come back very soon. It's a shame, because if your DH had read the millions of threads we've been through on here rather than just catching a glimpse of one or two which on their own may have made him jump to conclusions, I'm sure he would be flattered at how devoted you are to him and his family and what he has gone through. it's obvious to all of us that you love him way to much for anything like what he might be thinking, and I'm sure it's just a combination of what he's been through and having his head all over the place. I'm sure it will sort itself out and he'll see that it was just a throw away bit of blabbering about something which meant nothing at all!

Kiwi - great news on the good nights sleep - hoping it continues - you need a break!!

Beans33 · 20/03/2010 09:40

Oh Daisy - Im not sure what happened with your DH as can't find the post from you, but it sounds like he read some of your posts and didn't like them? TBH, I always feel like it's good to get things off my chest on here, then I can deal with DH better in RL, if you know what I mean. I wouldn't necessarily say any of the stuff to my other friends, so prefer to give it an airing here, with all you lovely sage people, than slate him to people who know him. I think you've never been anything but loyal to him, just frustrated, which is understandable. I hope you're ok.

Masses of love.
xxxx

spotofcheerfulness · 20/03/2010 18:50

. Why do I act like I'm an 18 year old student when I'm let out on the town? Up til 5am, then up for the day at 8.30. Spent most of the day trying not to vomit and cursing myself for not being able to enjoy being back in london on my own. Must. Grow. Up.

Glad the scan went ok, Rubs and hooray for babyKiwi's night. Hope you get a repeat performance.

Veggiemummy · 20/03/2010 19:17

Oh dear Spot that's no good, though I am wandering why if you were in london sans child, why were you up at 8.30am? Surely you should have been supine until at least 3pm!

We went back to that little farm today as DH wanted a look. the boys loved it and Jordi was again in his element. Unfortunately the pig was in his pen for the entire visit and clearly pretending he was asleep. Obviously saw DS2 coming and hid.

The goats however welcomed him as an old friend and at one point they completely surrounded him. We took along some kitchen scraps which may have loosened up a bit. He had a go at grooming them this time I was a little unsure about releasing him with brush as assumed he wound hit them with it but he was quite gentle and brushed them beautifully. He & I spent quite a while in with them, mainly because everytime I tried to open the gate to leave the little paddock DS2 would force it closed.

Unfortunately on the ride home we hit a majur downpour but the boys were dry and as long as it's nit cold I quite like cycling in the rain.

Are you watching the game Kayz?

Spot did you have a nice time before all the cheeky monkeys in your head started pounding.

Rubs, i think you should tell us, it gives you a chance to tell someone the secret then you won't have any trouble keeping it from your RL friends.
