TulipsInTheSunshine · 25/05/2010 16:21

sorry STW, x-posts.

yuk about the poo.... luckily my older two never did it so i'll bet I won't be as lucky with A. The worst so far was the phase dd went through of taking her nappy off and handing me the poo as I came in to get her in the morning [boak]

Have faith though, ds1 took months to poo on the toilet, drove me to tears but he got there in the end

katieblirdsnest · 25/05/2010 16:43

tulips, phew! can't believe you were only told by playgroup.

stw - that sounds hideous, i've never had anything like that thank god.
i know i shouldn't but i did find it a bit funny that you and your dh were there in your ponchos in the weather we've just had! what party poopers everyone else was though.

SilveryMoon · 25/05/2010 17:11

Tulips Fingers crossed it's just a virus.
STW OMG, how foul! I know alot of people with dd's who have 'problems' pooing. Apparently, for girls, it's harder from them to realise that poo isn't a part of them, iyswim. I've been told by friends that it really is quite frightening for girls as they seem to think they are losing a part of themselves.
There was a bit about it on Embarrasing Bodies: Kids on friday, maybe you can catch up with it on 4OD?
tulips Glad it's not measles, what a relief.

We took the boys swimming today and Luke did really well. He even let go of me for a bit. He was smiling and laughing, really enjoyable, so we are getting there.

I got a prospectus through from ICS (distance learning) and def can't afford to study at degree level from home, but did find a course in there for supporting children, young people and families which sounds really interesting. On completion, it would c ount as 20 credits towards a degree if I decided to go that route later, but for now it might be enough to get me a low-position job in that field and once I start earning, I can look into ways of personal betterment and if I'm really lucky get employer sponsership or something, but I'm getting ahead of myself there. The course and certificate at the end (assosiates certificate) will at the very least hopefully get me some voluntary work, then I'd just have to find someone to voluntarily look after the boys
Anyway, it's £53 pounds a month for 9 months if I pay a £40 deposit.
Now I just have to convince dp that it's a good idea and he should pay for it.....

SilveryMoon · 26/05/2010 08:22

Morning.
Everyone ok?
tulips How's A this morning?
We've had a night zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Back to docs today about giving up smoking.
Dp said he'll pay for the course if we both quit again.
No problem

dinkystinky · 26/05/2010 10:40

Sounds like a great incentive to cut the fags SilveryMoon. Good luck.

Early start thanks to Danny this morning. Want to go back to bed now...

OP posts:
SilveryMoon · 26/05/2010 10:46

Both mine are back in bed so I've just had a really nice, long bath. Wish I'd gone back for a nap though.

TulipsInTheSunshine · 26/05/2010 11:07

SM... good for you, sounds like great incentive

A spent the night puking, am shattered and didn't get dd to school until 9.35

dinky, must be so much worse for you being shattered when you're trying to work... hope you have a quiet day

mumoverseas · 26/05/2010 12:46

hello all. Have had a manic few days and you all dropped of my threads I'm on

TITS sorry A is ill but thank god/allah it isn't measles. What a stupid cow that other parent was. You just DON'T take your kids out circulating if you think they are ill.

SM good luck with the no smoking/studying.

dinky hope you got some sleep last night.

STW DC1 was a 'smearer'. Apparently it was because he was clever I ended up having to resort to sewing the little shit/darling into his PJs at night

dinkystinky · 26/05/2010 13:31

Good choice of name to describe DC1 MoS!

Tulips - sorry that A is vomming on the bug - hopefully he's got through the worst of it now, poor little man.

MoS - you busy packing? Bet you cant wait to get over to the UK and your Tescos delivery of bacon and other restricted delights...

i've got today and tomorrow 'working from home' as our nanny is off on holiday. i'm having such a lovely day and the work bit can happen this evening! rhyme time at the library, ivor then trying to walk most of the way home and a lazy lunch while ivor now sleeps. i could get used to this....but better not!

my mum and dad looked after the kids mon and tues and i've managed to get them tickets to the chelsea flower show today as a thank you. an ex colleague presents the show for bbc so she's very kindly dashed around and got them in. i hope they have a brilliant time.

tulips hope A gets better soon and hope dd's school were understanding about the lateness!

sm that course sounds great. good luck with the fags.

dinkystinky · 26/05/2010 16:08

Sounds like a lovely day so far KBN!

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 27/05/2010 09:50

Hope everyone's ok. Danny has now not only taken to early morning wake ups but also taking it upon himself to go wake his brother up in the mornings - bombs down the corridor, pushes his door open and goes up to him in bed and gives him a kiss to wake him up - if we dont keep an eagle eye on him at all times and the door to whatever bedroom we're in firmly shut. DS1 is v good natured about it but still, am sure he'd prefer an extra half hours sleep.

Hope your mum & dad enjoyed the flower show yesterday KBN and you have another lovely day working from home today.

Got to share latest exploits of DS1 - he and 2 best mates from nursery had play date day before yesterday. Mums and nanny and littler kids were in the kitchen while they were playing in the living room and got the shock of their lives when they went into the living room as DS1 and his 4 year old buddies had (god knows how) managed to empty our humongous beanbag filling (you know those little white beads) and were playing polar bears in the snow. Apparently they were so happy but god the mess. Even after several big clean ups we're still finding those fecking white beads in unexpected places. Ho hum.

Hello all

Dinky lol that is so funny what a fantastic imagination he has...

Tulips so sorry A is being sick, I agree it is totally irresponsible of that mum to take the baby out. If your child is sick you keep them away from everyone else.. Period.... So pleased it isn't measles!!!

STW ewwwwwwwwww.. I have been so lucky with DD she has been clean and dry since her second birthday and I can take no credit for it as she did it all by herself.. however as ds is totally different in every way to her I feel I am going to struggle with everything with him (not saying he is a pita or anything lol)

Hope everyone enjoys their days we are ironing today as I have sooooooooo much to catch up on...

bumpsnowjustplump · 27/05/2010 12:59

wow it is quiet on here today...

I am going to be really cheeky here and ask if anyone could sponsor Jessica and Owen on their sponsored toddle.... We are raising money for The Evelina Children's Hospital, at Guy's and St Thomas. It is a NHS Foundation Trust and provides everything from routine care to life saving treatment for over 100,000 children every year. It is ?a hospital that doesn?t feel like a hospital? and includes intensive care, neurology, and specialist heart and kidney units where the children receive world-class care and treatment. NHS funding can not meet all the hospital?s needs. This is where the Evelina Children's Hospital Appeal steps in by raising money to buy the very best equipment and facilities.

For more info and to sponsor Jessica and Owen please goto www.justgiving.com/toddle-tots !!! thank you xxxx

katieblirdsnest · 27/05/2010 14:24

bumps done!

bumpsnowjustplump · 27/05/2010 14:39

Thank you so much Katie that is very kind of you... i will obviously put photos on when we have done it xxxxx

TulipsInTheSunshine · 27/05/2010 14:51

Afternoon all. Was up at 6.30 this morning to get A to his hospital appointment in Sligo...I don't know how you working moms do it on a daily basis, i'm shattered! (although that might have something to do with staying up and watching the last 3 episodes of Lost last night too )

Appointment went well though, they've referred him on to ENT to see if they can divide the tongue tie, scary as he doesn't co-operate at all so will need general anaesthetic if they decide to go ahead but it'll be worth it for his sake. The consultant said they wouldn't have done anything when he was younger anyway as the tongue grows so much most babies grow out of it but as he's still being affected at this age and the tongue is visibly underdeveloped and has restricted mobility it would probably be best to treat it now.

KBN, sounds like a lovely day 'working from home'... hope today is as enjoyable don't worry, dd's teacher is used to us at this point, school starts at 9.20 and there's usually a crowd of us only just arriving at that point dd came home all exicted because 'X was late too mommy, really, really late like me and Teacher asked us were we having a rest'

dp had to do his first ever solo school morning this morning and is all proud of himself for managing it without major disaster

dinky... how cute danny sounds running in to kiss ds1! But i'll bet incredibly annoying too, dd wakes the whole house too when she gets up and it drives me mad. Your boys sound really close, we've been really lucky in that sense too, all three love each other to bits and the older two are very sweet with A. He and ds1 were playing a kissing and hugging game earlier and it made my heart swell watching them.

bumps... my credit card is maxed out atm i'm afraid (OU fees!) but good luck with it

bumpsnowjustplump · 27/05/2010 15:02

no worries tulip, thank you anyway. glad appointment went well but sorry he is going to need an anaesthetic, what a worry for you!!! well done to dp for his solo school run..

dinkystinky · 27/05/2010 15:04

Will sponsor bumps.

Sounds like it was a productive appointment Tulips. Danny will need to go under GA at some point to have his ear polyp removed - the GP advised us to wait until he was older (2 or so) but can see why A will need to be operated on sooner rather than later if affecting speaking and eating for him - and he'll forget the whole experience in no time.

How's dp's non-smoking stint going?

OP posts:
bumpsnowjustplump · 27/05/2010 15:10

Thank you Dinky xx

TulipsInTheSunshine · 27/05/2010 15:30

dinky... he had one yesterday evening but other than that he's going well. A bit grouchy but at least he's admitting he's being a grouch this time and apologising which improves my tolerance immensely!

SilveryMoon · 27/05/2010 15:58

Hello.
Sorry I've not been on today, just been doing some more research for jobs/studying.
I've now decided that instead of doing the family support thing, I'm going to become a teching assistant to start with as it will fit in well with the family while the boys are still young and can move on from there.

dinky OMG re the beanbag filling. I'll bet you'll be finding those things for ever

tulips Glad A's appointment went well. Keep us posted on his ENT one.
Ds1's ENT appointment has just been bumped up to June 15th. I took a recording of jacob through the night and played it to our gp.

mumoverseas · 27/05/2010 16:21

hello all, just popping in quickly before I bath the gruesome twosome.

TITS fingers crossed with A's ENT referral, hope it all gets sorted. I remember being so distressed when I was told H had tongue tie as I had no idea what it meant and the silly filipino nurse scared me by saying 'your baby isn't normal, he might not be able to speak'! Stupid bitch! He didn't have it snipped and I'm not sure its affecting him although I guess it would be wise to get him checked in the UK over the summer.

bumps G did a sponsored waddle toddle a few weeks ago (and H waddled after them too, it was fab to watch) she was Tinkerbelle and he was Peter Pan.
Will try to sponsor but money a bit tight at the moment as some f*er burgled us and nicked our new tv that had just been fitted on the wall and smashed the dvd player so have had to cough up to replace those Got a mail from management company last night and had to sort today as new guests arriving this afternoon. Arse, hadn't even seen the new tv.

Right, H is screeching so have to go, catch up tomorrow x

bumpsnowjustplump · 27/05/2010 19:40

MOS so sorry you are going through so much crap at the moment, would love to see the photos of tink and peter !! Cant wait to see you again when you are over, instead of coffee prehaps wine is in order!!
