PuzzleRocks · 24/02/2010 14:36

Perhaps it would be less ridiculous spelled Phanneee?

Feierabend · 24/02/2010 14:40

Oh god. My pelvic floor is not strong enough for this. Why am I not cleaning the house while the baby is at the childminder?

Bicnod · 24/02/2010 15:01

Bollox. Just went to the doc surgery to pick up an x-ray form thingy and forgot they were closed on wed afternoons what a waste of bloody time. could have been on here talking about chlamydia and syphilis

Third Sister just left, with three nieces and nephews. Am annihilated.

Mere shell of former self.

Boys are getting fish fingers and bed.

I am getting intensive tidying up, long bath and bed.

Mum doing well, op rescheduled for 4th March.

More when I have some energy.

PuzzleRocks · 24/02/2010 19:29

WFH - I hope you are snoozing peacefully right now.

aoifesmama · 24/02/2010 21:56

WFH - sleep and rest

Everyone else I disappear for one day and it goes bonkers on here...how did I miss such a good day!?!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 24/02/2010 21:59

Sadly not - but am on my way to the bathtub

Bicnod you kindly asked ages ago if I was sleeping properly - the answer is when Orbit lets me! Still the worst sleeper in the world, that baby. Ah well. But no, trying not to worry too much. Third Sister was pretty upset today when she left, as she won't see mum again before the op, so was quite worried. But I haven't got to that point yet, so keeping it all together, although it all gets a bit much sometimes.

Still waiting for the doctors to call me back and talk me through the op though.

Should I be changing Orbit's name to Aubeet? Or Hrorbitt (the Hr is silent)?

Or perhaps Orbite Boutonniere, to give him his full French title.

Must go to bed - anyone going to Ikea in Gateshead or Milton Keynes in the near future?

aoifesmama · 25/02/2010 11:34

Okay, so do I have a gifted and talented daughter...or a troubled one?!

Last night put Aoife to bed, she did not want to go and I was in and out for about half an hour. The phone rang (my nanny ) and I spoke for about 7 or 8 mins. When I went in to her room next she had taken both the top and bottom of her PJs off, thrown them on the floor and was fiddling with the poppers on her vest

She was very pleased with her protest...!

bebemoohatessnot · 25/02/2010 11:59

Hi everyone.
Moo took her first unaided steps yesterday...it's near now..oh so near.

BoffinMum · 25/02/2010 13:07

Congrats to Moo!

Felix is into pointing at everything, very delicately, then looking around as if to say "Have you seen it?" and grinning. When the phone rings he gets excited and starts pointing and yelling "fon, fon" in case I haven't heard it. He keeps trying to play with Big Boy lego (i.e. not the big baby stuff, which he turns his nose up at), selecting pieces carefully from his brothers' box, and then being baffled by his inability to make various pieces stay stuck together. We think he thinks he is a Big Boy and hasn't realised he is supposed to be a baby, a bit like one of DH's dogs, who thought he was human and never really worked out the dog thing (apparently one day they were taking the dog somewhere in the car and mentioned to each other that they would play hide and seek when they got there, and the dog shot out of the car and went and hid. He hid so well they had to spend the rest of the afternoon finding him. The dog was delighted with this. He clearly assumed it was his turn to choose who was supposed to hide, and forgot that it was the humans who usually do that)

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 25/02/2010 13:36

Well done Moo! Tee hee, you nearly have a toddler

Orbit is mainly focused on food - you would think we didn't ever feed him! He likes nothing better than to rifle through my handbag or the nappy/snack bag or the snack cupboard in search of open packets - score so far: 5 biscuits, 2 rusks and some banana.

I was putting things away in the bathroom today and he tried to eat a new bar of soap - managed to get his teeth through the plastic and everything.

We suspect he is actually talking, it's just not in English. He has a very wide repertoire of noises, some of them only for talking to bats and dogs.

No walking yet though.

Also a point blank refusal to lie down for nappy changes - we are now doing them all standing up, pretty much. Sigh.

Boff Felix sounds very entertaining, especially with the phone! Orbit spends a lot of time trying to figure out DS1's Kid K'nex, but usually ends up just chewing it.

Bicnod · 25/02/2010 14:37

Afternoon ladies.

I am currently racked with guilt and I can't even have my chocolate penance as I've given it up for lent Oscar is poorly at the moment. He has a bit of a temp, snotty nose, nasty cough. He clearly feels poo and has spent much of the last two days whining or crying poor little mite. He was clearly knackered after lunch so I tried to put him down for a nap. His eyes were shut but he was howling in my arms. Tried putting him down he howled. Tried walking around, rocking him, singing to him, giving him milk, giving him water, giving him calpol, nothing worked. He was screaming and screaming and I got so frustrated I shouted. Really loudly. Not at him and not any words, just AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH he obviously got even more upset and I feel like the shittest mummy in the world

Bicnod · 25/02/2010 14:38

I think my lack of patience stems from the fact that I've only had about 3 hours sleep per night for the last 2 nights again, not Oscar's fault, but I'm really struggling at the moment.

Bicnod · 25/02/2010 14:38

Dammit. Now I'm crying. What a bloody pathetic wuss.

ZuluWarrior · 25/02/2010 14:44

Oh Bicnod. I have that particular T-shirt many times over. I think I've said before how amazed I am at how angry I can get, that not being a personality trait pre-baby. I have thrown things, shouted, and put the baby down and left the room to shout. I find the poorly days the hardest to deal with, when all they do is whine and scream. It's not their fault but it makes them intolerable.

You're knackered and you're human. I know your DH is at work but is there anyone who could give you a break, even for half an hour so you can put your feet up? And you are a wonderful mother

ZuluWarrior · 25/02/2010 14:45

X-posts. You're not pathetic. If you didn't cry you wouldn't be human.

Bicnod · 25/02/2010 14:50

Thanks Zulu. There isn't anyone unfortunately. Family all down in the New Forest and DH working late. Luckily O doesn't seem bothered by me crying so that's something! Hopefully he's on the mend and will sleep better tonight. He couldn't really sleep much worse than last night so tonight has to be an improvement [trying to find the silver lining emoticon]

bebemoohatessnot · 25/02/2010 14:51

Oh Bicnod. I know how it goes. It can be so frustrating. I've done it too. Sometimes even in the middle of the night...I'm sure the neighbors think I'm murdering people over here. Try to get a little break. Maybe a bath? If you both go in it might help distract him from feeling poorly and help give you that moment or tow of relaxation you need. And go to bed early tonight. As soon as you're able.
hugs.

bebemoohatessnot · 25/02/2010 14:57

On a completely different note...
Anyone know if waterpipes run behind a water/towel rail heater in the toilet? I want to put up a shelf over it...but I'm worried I'll hit pipes if I try, but I need somewhere to put clean towels...they tend to end up on the floor now

ZuluWarrior · 25/02/2010 15:15

What bebe said. Get some calpol and ibuprofen down him at bedtime and get an early night. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Right, off to walk the dogs in the driving sleet....
