Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hey girls - sorry for radio silence.

First week back at work has gone well. O doesn't cry when I drop him at the CM and is sleeping reasonably well. However we're now both absolutely knackered and the poor little mite isn't very well today (slight temp, hacking cough, teething like mad, very sad )

It actually felt pretty good to be back in the office and I remembered why I love my job.

Missed him like mad though and couldn't quite shake the guilt.

Bebe - if its any consolation (which it probably won't be) DH and I have been trying since January and still no joy. Fingers crossed we're both lucky this month.

Boff - you are NOT fat dammit woman. Hope the work situation improves, sounds rubbish

Will catch up properly soon - I'm off to bed now x x

Bicnod · 12/05/2010 21:29

p.s. Schulte (have texted you) - sorry about today so when are you free next Wed? Morning or afternoon better? We HAVE to catch up then as I'll be back at work on Weds after that...

bronze · 12/05/2010 21:41

I am so jealous of all you people trying again. I could so happily do this lat year again complete with redundancies etc if need be (though no ops for dd)
I've loved every second with my baby boy and its gone so damn quickly.

bronze · 12/05/2010 23:28

My baby vibes are all go

Big brother rang tonight to say they're expecting another (13 weeks) I'm so excited for them (as well as a bit jealous)

bebemoohatessnot · 13/05/2010 06:36

Good news Bronze.

Thanks Bicnod...shall we race ? Hopefully O is not too ill.

Schulte thanks, it helps sometimes knowing that other experienced similar. Our bodies are such strange things.

PuzzleRocks · 13/05/2010 08:22

Morning

Great news Bron.

PuzzleRocks · 13/05/2010 08:23

Did anyone see the thread about banning our resident BNP moron?

What are your thoughts?

PuzzleRocks · 13/05/2010 08:26

Oh and Bron, I have to say I don't like your hovering status much. What rot!

gingersarah · 13/05/2010 09:31

Morning!

Frekkles! What's going on?

Bebe - sorry to hear the baby fairy hasn't visited this month - sending lots of fertile thoughts your way.

Bicnod - glad work is ok. There is no need at all to feel guilty by the way - he is a very lucky little boy to have such a devoted mama.

Schulte - I work in Soho too - shall we have coffee one day (mon - wed)? Anyone else in Soho?

Bronze - agree with Puzzle - get that hovering status sorted out, please!

Well, we are all well here in the broadest sense of the word - I have a stinking cold but even I can't moan about that too much. Work is better than I expected - I am even having an APPRAISAL next week (!!!!!!!!) which is a great event - these things haven't been whispered of for two years.

I was really sorry to miss the Richmond meet up and the photos are gorgeous. What a good looking bunch of women and babies.

Auld - best of luck with everything - you can do it, I'm sure although it may all feel like it is killing you - hang on in there

Anyone know how Nutty and Springy are?

bebemoohatessnot · 13/05/2010 13:58

wooden toys animal ideas for Moo?

AuldAlliance · 14/05/2010 21:14

Hello,
Just thought I'd post so the thread has an entry for today...

Hope everyone is hanging in there.
I am clinging on, still stressed about this bloody conference, and longing for it to be over, so I can do all the things I've been putting off for weeks, like seeing the doctor, dentist, hairdresser, garage, etc.

Anyone else feel as if they are on some mad roller coaster, whirling through a vortex of laundry, dishes, nappies, Calpol bottles, playmobil toys and other humdrum delights, with no way of getting off?

ZuluWarrior · 14/05/2010 22:34

Oh bugger. I've been looking for the exit for months!

mrsgboring · 15/05/2010 20:41

Auld yes most definitely a roller coaster. And I achieve a big fat zero in the professional sphere to mitigate it either. There is no real way to excel or even succeed at motherhood, I fear.

Dammit.

But apart from my coughing, puking DS1 and nappy rashed, bashed, chipped tooth Edmund, I am very happy really.

Went to try to flog some baby stuff at a table top sale today, which was virtually a dead loss and allowed me to be patronised by the local uber-mummy, who sold me all the "really simple" reading books her son (younger than mine) doesn't need any more, and tried to sell a meccano set that he was "bored with." I'm afraid I went back to my friend and whispered, "Yes, but her son is really FAT," which given my friend is a lovely person who really doesn't engage in any kind of low sniping was really rather wrong of me. But he is. And my DS1 reads very well for a four year old and is incredibly intelligent, and really very well built and handsome

I did however buy a Teddy Robinson book and a planetarium thingy that I'd been coveting in the GLTC (it's okay for four quid but not full price.) And I ate so much Mr Whippy in the park this afternoon I should probably be arrested.

Slightly squiffy weekend waves to everyone

bronze · 15/05/2010 23:57

Teddy Robinson- I love him and Deborah
My teddy is Teddy David, named in honour

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 16/05/2010 15:41

mrsg don't worry - uber mummy is probably selling the reading books way before her DS is finished with them to fund her cocaine/online poker/rent boy habit before her DH finds out.

Bicnod · 16/05/2010 17:27

I particularly love Teddy Robinson

I'm knackered. O has been up 3 or 4 times every night for the past week or so. He is mainlining calpol and nurofen and his bottom is red raw with all the teething poos he's been doing poor little monkey

Not sure I'll be fully functional at work tomorrow.

mrsgboring · 16/05/2010 18:06

Well having had a proper look at the reading books (they are Ladybird which I collect anyway so I bought all the unduplicated ones) either she is being vile calling them "simple" or she's never read them because they are by no means first level books.

WFH LOL at the various possible avenues for her cash to go in. Maybe that explains the hugely overpriced lego?? (silly her I'd have had all her meccano if it had been a quid cheaper and she hadn't been so hoity toity about her son being "bored" with it).

I am going on about this rather, it's obviously bothered me more than I thought. Sorry, shall shut up now.

Bicnod, poor O and his teeth and bum . E is the same, but so far only has a quarter of one more tooth through, which is nearly equivalent to the big chunk he took out of his existing front tooth.

Oh yes, I don't even have drunkenness as an excuse this time for the very very random way my brain functions:

* NEWS FLASH * Edmund can really and honestly walk now. Not just a stagger in the Science Museum but proper 4 steps in a row. I don't think he's fully realised what he can do yet though, so not motoring everywhere yet. In fact he is very stationary at the moment, biting his father repeatedly so I may have to intervene.

Schulte · 16/05/2010 19:56

We need a new thread!

Schulte · 16/05/2010 19:59

If you wouldn't mind making your way over here please ladies...

I might just finish the thread off...

Schulte · 16/05/2010 20:00
