It is rubbish. I have to say I am so sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Starting this weekend either I start feeling good or else...(not sure what 'or else' is going to be but it's going to be something proactive)

I am going to be healthy
I will be happy
I am going to DO things
I will have a clean house
I am going to get the finances in order
I will kick dh's butt if things do not go my way
(Got yet another late notice massive fee penalty in the mail for something he said he paid)
I am not going to put up with any more crap from anyone including myself any more.

PuzzleRocks · 18/02/2010 16:20

Go for it. Do something nice for yourself. Even if it's just going for a coffee on your own with a good book.

I just cannot wait for the shitty weather to end. A bit of sun will make all the difference to me.

Have you seen the "fly" threads? I believe they are support threads for breaking down the seemingly insurmountable domestic mountains into manageable molehills. Or some such.
I think they are quite popular.

Evening all!

I found you. Fei - I love the thread title. DD has been wearing her 'pink one Princess tutu' most of the day today.

WFH - all fingers crossed for your mother. Hope all the sister visits going well too.

Boff - assertive boobs? Ah those were the days [wistful emoticon]. I think chick-lit sounds like a good career move. Perhaps you could suggest that to your DD. I'm still holding out a hope that she will go back to her finals.

Auld - ugh - no idea what to say but thinking pretty violent thoughts towards your landlord. I haven't got myself to the post office yet to send you tooth thingummies. Perhaps I should pop some candles and matches in the post too. I love that your DS runs round after butterflies. I'm picturing him as Christopher Robin.

Bebe - Are you OK? Puzzle is right. Just going for a coffee and reading a paper for half an hour can make life feel better sometimes. Or going for a walk, or the cinema or something on your own?

AuldAlliance · 18/02/2010 22:06

Tigga, I had a dream when DS1 was about one year old. We were standing on a wall together and jumped off simultaneously, and I found we were in sinking sand. I sank into a huge, deep hole and can still remember to this day the utter horror of thinking that DS1 was in a hole like that all alone and that we were going to die alone.

PuzzleRocks · 19/02/2010 08:18

King - Right back atcha. Good luck with the move.

Tigga - Centre forwards??

dawntigga · 19/02/2010 10:09

Puzzle you know the type, when they were at school they'd be center forwards or wing attack at netball. They make my teeth itch.

Both my girls are destroying books at the moment - DD1 has found some stickers and is putting them all over her picture books. Hazel is pulling books off the shelf and trying to tear them into pieces. Five minutes to mumsnet!

Waves to Fei.

yes, it was all I'm back at work and really need it for my sanity or are you really not back at work yet? Or still breastfeeding? At 10 months? Please bear in mind these women were all baby cafe visitors.

Hello

Speaking of penises, DS1 spent most of bathtime trying to put his into the hole of a squeezy cow toy. He then moved onto the pig squeezy toy, which was even more worrying as that hole is where its mouth is!

And so it begins.....

On a less good note, I yelled at him and grabbed him by the arms at bedtime because he wouldn't get into bed. I am a bad mother. Does anyone else ever worry that actually they are like the parents talked about on the stately homes threads? I can just imagine the threads now 'My mum grabbed me by the arms and yelled at me when I was naughty'

'That's child abuse, call ChildLine, tell SS, quick!'

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 19/02/2010 19:59

Fei are you sitting in on a Friday night googling penises?

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 19/02/2010 20:02

Update on my family's movements - Eldest Sister has now left, taking two DNieces with her, and gone back to London. Second Eldest Sister has come down from Oop North and is now with my mum, she'll be here later on and stay the weekend. Third Eldest Sister arrives tomorrow from France for five days with two DNieces and one DNephew (younger than Orbit ).

There's a lot of sheets being washed in this house.

Feierabend · 19/02/2010 20:15

WFH I am

Just put them all in the same sheets, they'll never know.

I have grabbed DD1 by the arms and even shaken her a bit they do ask for trouble sometimes. Don't feel bad. He won't remember.

Off to bed now with a magazine, but thought I'd share this beauty...

Night night!

WFH my parents were exactly like that and trust me you don't even come close to it. Try convincing your child that the electricity meter is a money box and getting her to put her birthday/Xmas money in it. Try telling your child Santa died. Try telling your child that all the problems you, as a parent, have are due to your child. Try telling your child that they are worthless and may as well not try. Try every time your child tells you they have some good news you say 'Good you're leaving home' to them, it's funny the first time but when you hear it every single time from the age of about 10 you tend to believe that leaving will be a good thing for everyone. Until you give your child an eating disorder or similar you don't stand a chance of getting in that club. Grabbing hold of your child by their arms won't even get you a foot note

Tigga

Thank you for reassuring me, although I'm sorry it had to be with such painful experiences.

On a lighter note, as the Sister who is coming tomorrow lives in France and is married to a Frenchman, the whole family is bilingual. I said to DS1, who is learning French at nursery, that it would be nice as he could show off his French. He said 'I don't want them to speak French' and got really upset, so I explained that they spoke English too and wouldn't speak French unless he wanted them to.

He wailed 'I don't want them to speak English!!!!'

So I said 'What do you want them to speak then?'

He said 'I want them to speak Normal!'
