Hi everyone. Checking in.
Busy busy trying to sort life. Hahahahahahaha

Hugs.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 22/02/2010 13:56

Hello

bebe I'm trying to sort things out too - not getting very far though!

Mum is coming out of hospital during the day at the moment - she came over for Sunday lunch yesterday which was lovely, saw the boys and also Third Eldest Sister and her three DCs who are all staying at the moment.

Still haven't finished unpacking, so much to do and never seem to get any time!

Puzzle sorry to hear of rough night - Orbit still wakes up two or three times a night, haven't had energy or time to try and sort it out. Much sympathy.

Oh bum he's just woken up

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 22/02/2010 17:46

Does anyone else's child put everything in their mouth and BITE all the time?

Orbit is in disgrace today after biting his small cousin's toe (cousin is only 6 months ), and I've lost count of the inanimate objects I've had to remove from Orbit's mouth.

It's getting quite tiring.

PuzzleRocks · 22/02/2010 18:38

Fei - Thank you. They were quite sweet and well behaved today. I am going to go to bed at 8 tonight.

Tigga - How did it go?

WFH - Holly puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. Ellen was the same. I once had to fish a snail out of her mouth.

Feierabend · 22/02/2010 19:22

We didn't get the house with the big garden Someone else got in there first with a slightly higher offer and in a better buying position... no chance

OP posts:
Feierabend · 22/02/2010 19:24

I've seen toddlers eat dog poo!

OP posts:
bebemoohatessnot · 22/02/2010 19:32

Moo eats books. And I seriously means eats them...leave her with one of those board books and the next minute she's eaten half the cover...No matter how may times I tell her not too, she just looks at me with those big eyes and a look which says I cannot help myself Mom! I read them to her now and then put them away the second they go into her mouth. You'd think I never fed the child.

Feierabend · 23/02/2010 09:59

Oh I could cry. The stupid cleaner has just broken one of the two glass lampshades in our dining room. We won't be able to replace it with the same one as they have been discontinued so I have to find TWO new lampshades now, before the weekend as people will come round to view our house. And DH is very particular about lampshades.

Why is everything going wrong at the moment?

OP posts:
bebemoohatessnot · 23/02/2010 11:11

Poor you Feiera lots of stress

aoifesmama · 23/02/2010 11:48

Sending warming thoughts and a cup of tea Fei (sorry that's not helpful!)

bronze · 23/02/2010 11:54

I have a thread (as a namechange) in money at the moment. I will be reading but for some reason I find it hard to post when I'm stressed. To think we had been looking at buying a car we could all fit in...

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 23/02/2010 11:58

Fei buy two cheapy lampshades as a temp measure - the people looking round won't know the difference, they'll only notice if things don't match, and then you have some extra time to see if you can find a replacement glass one.

dawntigga · 23/02/2010 12:02

Fei explain to dh that you are moving and will be leaving the lampshades behind and just get 2 that go and are cheap!

bronze hugs n smooches

All: I'm now waiting for them to say yay or nay to reduced hours. Am phoning HR to find out how long they have to respond!

Hello everyone!

BabyW and I are back our holidays. We had a lovely time skipping round the south of England on trains, buses, planes and tubes. Although the weather is far, far nicer up here in the north. Only negative point to the holiday was when we were visiting my uncle and I had to call an ambulance for my Dad . But he's OK .

No way I can catch up but particular mentions:

Bicnod - how's your grandmother?

Bronze - hugs.

Fei - arse!

And hi to everyone else xx

Feierabend · 23/02/2010 16:54

Arse indeed. Well we've been to Ikea and bought the two cheapest lampshades we could find. I am still sad thought because the ones we had were very very special - we even had to go on a waiting list to buy them! And they made the room look special too. Oh well. Arse arse arse. Moving on.

On the bright side, we also bought lots of things from Ikea that we don't really need. As you do Including a cheap and cheerful playmat with roads and houses on.

Zulu what happened? Glad your dad is okay.

OP posts:
ZuluWarrior · 23/02/2010 21:40

We were all sitting round the table after dinner chatting, and it became apparent that my Dad was unconscious in his seat . My uncle (a GP) and I s**t ourselves. However, after lying him down and calling 999 he came round pretty quickly, so probably just an odd faint. I thought he had had a stroke, and was very, very scared for a minute or two. Fine now though!

I love Ikea for buying stuff you really don't need. They are so clever .

Feierabend · 24/02/2010 08:25

Oh god Zulu that really does sound scary. Glad he's okay now!

Well DH has hung up the first of the two lamps and it looks rubbish so cheap

I had a look at the play area in Ikea - it's AWESOME. They take children from 3 years old for an hour, for free. If I lived nearer, I would take dd1 there every week and have a hot dog while she plays In fact I myself have fond memories of being left in the play area in a German Ikea back in the seventies!

OP posts:
ZuluWarrior · 24/02/2010 09:27

The play area in Ikea sounds worth driving to Edinburgh for. Or maybe we could move there .

I bet the only people who notice the lamps are you and your DH. People like me wouldn't even register them.

Proper heavy snow here. Yay!

So, is it just you and me then Feiera?

Feierabend · 24/02/2010 09:34

It was so good that I myself wanted to stay and play!

Yes the thread has been a bit quiet recently hasn't it? I wonder how Gui is getting on, for example?

OP posts:
Feierabend · 24/02/2010 09:36

Oooh exciting I am going to look at a house later that's only just come on the market. It's so big, it has 3 bathrooms plus a cloakroom! That's 4 loos to clean If we bought it we'd probably rip one of the bathrooms out and turn it into a study.

OP posts:
ZuluWarrior · 24/02/2010 09:47

Yes, Gui. For someone so noisy she's unusually quiet at the moment.

Wow, the house sounds very exciting!

Bicnod · 24/02/2010 10:04

Morning ladies.

Thanks for all the good wishes for my Grandma. She's still in hospital but doing well as far as I can gather. I can't go and see her at the moment as Oscar is coughing and has a slight temp and would never forgive myself if he passed something on to her. And DH getting home too late for me to hop on train to see her

Fei - bugger about the lampshade. Any more viewings? Sorry you didn't get the house with the big garden - how were your viewings last weekend?

Bronze - hugs x x

WFH how's your mum doing?

Zulu - about your dad. So glad he's ok.

Right. Got to get out of the house before I go MAD. Catch you all later x

dawntigga · 24/02/2010 10:26

Waves to all.

IWantASnotFreeWeekIsItReallyToMuchToAskForTiggaxx

Feierabend · 24/02/2010 10:58

Bicnod, snap. Hazel is also coughing with slight temp last night. Happy as Larry at the moment though. All the best for your grandma, hope she can leave hospital soon.

We'll need a lot of stairgates if we buy a house that's got 4 floors!

Tigga I deliberately put on a white top this morning so H's snot marks aren't so obvious.
