Shall we look up the specs for a Mills n Boon? How much do you make on a Mills n Boon? Or we could do a campus novel with some soft porn elements.

BoffinMum · 17/02/2010 22:41

She stood there, on the Persian rug, while he continued ...

"You could say it's a form of sporting your oak" the Professor murmured, referring to the ancient Cambridge practice of opening the outer door to one's study whilst keeping the inner firmly sealed, so as to indicate interest in the outside world whilst also requiring a degree of seclusion.

"I'm not sure I know what you mean," she replied, feeling uncomfortable in her borrowed academic gown, which had started to slip down, framing her breasts assertively in the lamplight.

The Professor stood, silent, pausing for a moment to admire her classical form before breaking away and striding to the sideboard. "A little sherry before dinner, perhaps, Miss Mills?" he suggested, with just a very little hint of amusement.

Testing on sexy iPhone sexy sexy sexy iPhone

getOVERyourself · 18/02/2010 07:46

Not sure my breasts have ever been assertive....

Bicnod · 18/02/2010 07:59

Auld - what a bloody nightmare you poor thing. And poor A. But at least BonsoirAnna agrees with you - that must have made you feel all warm and fuzzy, no?

WFH - how's your mum doing?

Fei - knitted boobs?

O slept through again last night - but DH was up vomiting at 00.30 and I couldn't then get back to sleep until 02.30 what a waste!!

getOVERyourself · 18/02/2010 08:02

Morning Bicnod! It's time I namechanged back, isn't it?

Hold on a minute

Bicnod · 18/02/2010 08:06

Oh thank goodness for that

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 18/02/2010 08:13

That's better.

Thank you for asking about mum - she is still in hospital at the moment but feeling much better. They've whacked the infection with truck loads of anti-b's, and she's eating better although still feels sick. She's even reading books, which she didn't feel up to doing at all a few days ago.

The operation has been scheduled for Tuesday week. They were talking about sending her home in between now and then, but given that she still has her liver drain in, and what a complete shambles the district nurses were last time, she's not keen. Also she really needs someone to cook for her and be with her all day to get her to eat, as left to her own devices she won't eat or drink enough, as she feels too sick.

She might come out for this weekend as one of my sisters is here without her children, and can stay with her and look after her, and it would give her some fresh air and a glimpse of the world outside the hospital, which would be a good thing. We just have to make sure that she will definitely get her bed back if we do that though!

And possibly next weekend she could come and stay with me and I could take care of her, so she'd have a break from hospital twice before the operation.

We're all quite worried about the implications/risks of the operation - I am hoping that one of the doctors is going to call me this week to talk it through.

I have my two nieces staying with me at the moment (11 and 14) while their mum (Eldest Sister) and dad enjoy a break in Prague, so life is quite busy right now. They're lovely and do lots of playing with the DSs, so it's nice for me too. They go today, then Second Eldest Sister comes on Friday for the weekend without her children, then Third Eldest Sister comes over from France on Saturday with her 3 DCs until Wed. Poor old DP is putting up with this onslaught of inlaws manfully, but I suspect he may leave home shortly!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 18/02/2010 08:15

Congrats on O sleeping through! Could you come and sort Orbit out for me? Last night was terrible.

The night before last DP said he woke up a few times to find Orbit had climbed up me and was sleeping sort of nearly upright, leaning on my chest and back, iyswim. Strange child

Bicnod · 18/02/2010 08:20

Phew. Don't like change.

It's great that you've got a date for your Mum's operation. Sounds like she's doing well in herself. A bit of time outside the hospital before her op would probably make her feel even better. You and your sisters sound lovely - I hope Oscar grows up to be such a caring son.

Sounds like your DP is slightly outnumbered at the moment

How are you doing? I know you're worried but are you sleeping ok etc?

PuzzleRocks · 18/02/2010 08:47

Ah look, order is restored to the universe.
WFH - Good to hear matters are progressing. The waiting is terribly hard.
Is it likely to jeopardize her claim on a bed if she does have a break with family?
Send her our well wishes as always. xx

dawntigga · 18/02/2010 08:57

Anyone else having a recurring nightmare that you die and aren't there for your LO?

It'sOnMyNotFunListTiggaxx

PuzzleRocks · 18/02/2010 09:01

No, mine are usually about filthy toilets.
Don't worry Tigs, sounds normal to me.

Feierabend · 18/02/2010 10:00

Oh dear

My friend has sent me the little movie that she made of dd1 a few weeks ago. My hair is a total mess. That's probably the only ever time I'll be on the telly and I look like I've got a mop on my head! Just hope nobody in Germany who knows me will see it...

WFH well wishes to your mum xxx

Bicnod not another tummy bug? Or was your DH out drinking?

OP posts:
aoifesmama · 18/02/2010 11:32

WFH - thinking of you, this is probably the most difficult part.

Bicnod - NCSS just arrived, when A naps I'm going to start to read!

I just wondered, ladies, if you would post what your current daily schedule looks like for your LOs. In Jan when term started A's looked like:

6.30am wake and 6oz
8.30am porridge/breakfast
10am 45 min nap
11.30am lunch
1.30pm 4oz and 1 1/2 hour nap
5pm dinner
6pm bath and book, 8oz of milk and down by 7pm [and wake and wake and wake!}

BUT having spent this week just the two of us and at home most of the day she seems to be starting to veer away from this and I wonder if I need to make some changes. Any thoughts or routines much appreciated.

Feierabend · 18/02/2010 11:42

Aoifesmama - H's day looks very similar to A's except she has her milk after her lunchtime nap, not before. Maybe A is ready to drop her morning nap?

OP posts:
bronze · 18/02/2010 11:45

I'm so disorganised I couldnt put a routine
all I know is that Izy would dearly love to nap at school pick up time

My no cry book arrived this morning so no time to catch up much as I'm walking around the house doing kjobs trying to read it. I think I can start putting it into action as Izy slept a bit better last night with no coughing making him cry

DH didnt get the job so no car for us

wfh glad shes feeling a bit better

what are assertive breasts?

Feierabend · 18/02/2010 11:53

Bronze sorry about DH not getting the job Something better may come along soon!

So I'd like to hear if I am being unreasonable. I have just emailed the nursery manager of the nursery DD1 and now H go to, as I know a boy in DD1's room was sent home yesterday afternoon with a fever but then admitted again this morning. The nursery rules state a 24 hour exclusion period for fevers, which they clearly haven't adhered to in this case. I also know from the boy's mum that he'd had a fever both previous evenings so I bet he's got some contagious virus, which he will now pass on to DD1 and everyone else. This is the same boy she and H caught croup from in November when his parents sent him to nursery after they'd been to A&E in the night in an ambulance because of a croup attack! I really like his parents but they are obviously bloody irresponsible and I need nursery to tell them that and turn the little boy away in the morning when he's not well . AIBU to email the manager about this then?

hi

AuldAlliance · 18/02/2010 12:19

bebe!
how was Helsinki?
(and did you ever go to that pub quiz in the end that you posted about?)

PuzzleRocks · 18/02/2010 12:28

Hi bebe, how are you?

Fei, I don't think you are being unreasonable at all.

Bronze, hopefully something better is just around the corner.

PuzzleRocks · 18/02/2010 12:40

Aoifesmama

On days when we dont have anything outside of the house planned they tend to go something like this..

7pm Wake.

somewhere between 7.30 and 8 Breakfast

Holly will have an nap anytime between 9 and 11. Can be just 20 minutes. Sometimes an hour.

somewhere between 11.30 and 1.30 Lunch

Holly usually naps around 3pm, again anything from 30 minutes up to 90.

Suppertime is very flexible and depends on what we are all having, who is cooking, and what time DH is home. I might feed the girls as early as 4pm or we may all eat together at 6.30pm. Bath times ditto as these generally follow supper.

Ellen goes up usually between 6.45pm and 7.30pm and has stories before lights out. If i'm on story duty DH plays with Holly until I come down. Holly then has a feed and goes to bed. She wakes between two and four times depending on colds, teeth etc and will feed back to sleep.

You didn't really want an essay did you?

bebemoohatessnot · 18/02/2010 13:31

Helsinki is a lovely city. It was lovely and fresh with the cold air and deep snow. Really nice.
I was sick the whole time then came home and had food poisoning to boot(from hotel here) so I only just got home. I'm shattered; I cannot wait until Meg wants to take a nap and I can sleep in my own bed.

Feierabend · 18/02/2010 13:40

Oh god Bebe you really are unlucky, food poisoning as well! Hope you can get some rest.

OP posts:
PuzzleRocks · 18/02/2010 13:44

Oh sweetheart, that's rubbish. I do hope you get some rest.
