Here we go!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Howdy Bronze. Good luck for your DH. Perhaps if your DH looks a bit sheepish and does his best to make it up to them, the elephants will realise people change a lot in 15 years!

Beebs, I don't know what you mean!

Happy Birthday Babies!!

Diagnosis confirmed for DS1. Off school till Thurs at the earliest. Waiting for A to develop symptoms.

Boff, I can try and give them 5 mins each, but they have the right to read the reports I write, and lots of people ask for them, so I can't skimp them too much. Don't fancy being attacked in the administrative court, even though my lawyer is shit hot.

Lovely, lovely weather here. We are playing boats on the sofa as we can't go out much for fear of spreading the pox.

Just left Scotland in time before volcanic ash blocked the airports, it would seem.

bebemoohatessnot · 15/04/2010 14:38

Moo's seemed to have stopped with the vomit so I've been slowly introducing foods'liquids back in through the day. She had a pouch for lunch and seems to be ok even after 45 min. And she takes 100ml of fruit juice without stopping so she's already less pinched looking than when she woke. I, on the other hand, have a very sore tummy and feel like someone has run me over.

As for the SAHM or WM it is such a battle. And it's important to really sit down with oneself and make the right decision for yourself. And one of the best things I can advise is never make a big decision the week before or during your period if you can help it as things are far more stressful and trying then than they would be at other times and so you might make a decision which is a tad more rash. hugs

Guimauve · 15/04/2010 19:15

Boooo for the poxed babies. We too have a rash now, but of a non-specific viral kind I think. At least it held off until we'd been out and about.

Hope you all had lots of fun in the park today! We ate mussels and then went to the aquarium. Is this a bit perverse?

Guimauve · 16/04/2010 09:22

Happy Birthday Holly!
Happy Birthday Hannah!
Happy Birthday BabyReallytired!

BabyBolat · 16/04/2010 09:32

FrogmellaMoonbeam · 16/04/2010 09:47

Come on girls we need the gossip!!!!!!!

THe FB piccies are lovely thank you very much Surprise!

Guimauve · 16/04/2010 10:56

They're all horrifically hungover Frogmella. You can't see the bottles of gin in the photos, but they're there in Puzzle's hands.

FrogmellaMoonbeam · 16/04/2010 11:13

Ahh of course I should have realized!!

bronze · 16/04/2010 12:13

Happy Birthday Holly Hannah and babyreallytired

off to find pics

AuldAlliance · 16/04/2010 12:24

ooh, yes, nice pics, looks as if you had a great day. Weather looks lovely too.

Gossip now needed asap. And none of this vague stuff. Details required ladies!

Meltdown continues here, as A's CM is stuck in Amsterdam due to volcanic ash, so I will have both of them at home on Mon and poss Tues.

I think I may have to pull out of the conference I am meant to be attending in May, as I have not begun to even outline a draft of my paper. I've not been to a conference for 3 years and I've done hardly any research since DS1 was born because I just never get enough time to get stuck into it.
No publish = perish.

Guimauve · 16/04/2010 12:26

Is this the Fanjo-warriors picnic-ing in style?

Guimauve · 16/04/2010 12:27

Or was it more like this?

Bicnod · 16/04/2010 13:25

Definitely the latter.

Bit of baby gossip - Evie and Oscar were flirting somewhat

AuldAlliance · 16/04/2010 14:00

Baby gossip?
Well that's all very well and cute, but where is the grown up gossip???

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 16/04/2010 14:18

None of them can remember, they all woke up face down in a pool of gin.....

Or they can remember, but the truth is too shameful to repeat!

DS1's 4th birthday today - he has a castle, a disc shooter, some plastic armour, a money box and a DVD. He is very happy. He also just decorated his cake, it's....erm.....interesting looking.

JumeirahJane · 16/04/2010 14:26

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday all you beautiful April DCs,
Happy birthday to you!

With lots of love and hugs from Auntie Jumeirah and Millie xxxx

ps in a nutshell, waved off the DGPs (dear grandparents) after a whirlwind 3 week visit, MMR jab imminent, very nice job offer pending, nursery place nearly found, now waiting for 'dreaded' start date, manically busy, so what's new?
pps will now get stuck in reading as far back as I can before nap time is over. Hope in advance that you are all in fine fettle. xx

Schulte · 16/04/2010 20:25

Bonsoir. Gui your gin lane link crashed my browser. I can only imagine what it looks like. Hang on. DH says it's on Wikipedia. Shall go and have a look

Schulte · 16/04/2010 20:29

Aha

Happy birthday to WFH's DS1.

I am afraid to say Hazel's fever wasn't due to teeth after all. She had a temperature all night and is extremely clingy. I really hope she hasn't passed her bug on to any of the other babies but it's unlikely since she didn't really want to play with them anyway

On the bright side, the volcano ash means I do not have to go to Munich next week. And one of the proposals I was working on is now not needed due to the meeting being cancelled. Hurrah. A reasonably quiet week at work ahead. Although I am still considering resigning. I bumped into a friend today who said going back after baby number 2 was much harder and it took her a good couple of months to get used to being a working mum again, so I'll probably give it a few weeks and see how it all goes.

Hope everyone has great weekends.

surprisenumber3 · 16/04/2010 21:31

Hi all I really should be working but somehow have wandered over here!

Sorry to hear Hazel is poorly Schulte, glad you don't have to go to Munich though It is hard going back after baby number 2 and does definitely take a while to get back into it. I went back just before DS2 was six months as I started ML at 31 weeks through being terrified of developing PE again (like I did with DS1) and it did take me a good 3-4 months to get back into it. Hope everything works out for you, whatever you decide.

Bicnod - Evie and Oscar flirting :D they were SOOO cute, I just love the photo of them.

Guim - your pic links made me laugh. Hope you had a great day yesterday, Bronze and Izy too.

Happy Birthday to DS1 WFH!

Good luck with starting back to work Jane!

Really need to get back to working now....boring!

surprisenumber3 · 16/04/2010 21:33

...has your DH heard anything yet Bronze? Good luck with that.

happy birthday Holly!

Bebe - hope you and Meg are feeling better xx

Schulte · 17/04/2010 20:05

Hazel has been diagnosed with a urinary tract infection... it took 3 trips to GP and A&E to find out what was wrong she's now on antibiotics but won't drink. If anyone can help here???

bebemoohatessnot · 17/04/2010 21:12

After a very long week Moo and I are feeling ok. We spent a lovely day out and about and I took her walking in the woods and we picked flowers and stones and put them in our bucket. I really wish we could have made it to the picnic as I think Moo would have loved seeing others her own age.
Speaking of which-
Moo and I went to see a nursery school today! Seemed nice enough but I have nothing to compare it to yet. For those of you who have lo's in care how much do you pay a session? Morning session at this school is 7.30-12.30 and would cost me about £25/day... What should I be looking out for in a school? And people keep telling me I should be able to find reviews of nurseries online, but for the life of me I cannot find them. I'm half tempted not to look at another school as it would be a 15min drive (at least) to get her to it while this one is 15min walk...but I should really compare shouldn't I?
I hope everyone else enjoyed the weather today. xx

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 17/04/2010 21:25

quickly as I'm about to eat curry, but look on the Ofsted website for their inspection report on any registered childcare.

but i've always trusted my gut instincts over Ofsted reports
