HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guimauve · 18/04/2010 12:08

Happy Birthday Sam and BabyStarryeyed!

Glad Moo is feeling better Bebe.

AuldAlliance · 18/04/2010 19:05

Happy Birthday to the Cub!

Moo, I'd go with yr instincts too.

Very rushed post, to show off: Alex took his first unaided steps today, and is now rushing headlong at everything, hands raised, laughing.

Schulte · 18/04/2010 20:05

Yay for Alex walking! Hazel managed to stand unsupported for quite a while this morning, before she got poorly again. Cue another trip to A&E, which was full of young boys who'd injured themselves playing football. It turns out my poor baby has a mouth and throat full of cold sores on top of the urine infection she's so very unhappy

Bicnod · 18/04/2010 20:06

Moo - def go with your instincts - Ofsted reports are all well and good but it's how they interact with YOUR baby that's important IMHO.

O's childminder charges £55 a day (7.30am-5.30pm with breakfast, lunch and dinner included) or £5.50 an hour if not full days.

Schulte - how is H doing today?

Happy birthday Sam

ZuluWarrior · 18/04/2010 20:31

AA hooray for Alex! I have a very funny picture in my head of him running around giggling .

Schulte, so sorry to hear about poor wee Hazel. UTIs can make wee ones quite poorly - I think people forget that because the adult ones although uncomfortable, are much less systemically upsetting. The antibiotics should clear it up quite quickly though. The cold sores sound nasty. You must be exhausted.

Hello Bicnod. Re a post from a few days ago: I have seen pictures of you and you already know how to look young and trendy. So you don't need any advice. So there!

Little to report here. Babywarrior is very naughty and generally a very pleasant handful. We nearly have a proper roof on our extension. I've had 2 glasses of wine and a bit pissed. XXX

BabyBolat · 19/04/2010 08:03

Happy Birthday to Basti and Beth! And all the babies I have missed

Yay for Alex! BeBe, I pay my sister a live in (and family) rates so wouldn't know what the average rate is in Bristol...

Schultes! do they know what's causing the cold sores? Or just because she has a low immune system at the moment?

Kara is currently learning to go up and down steps unaided (by his own choice no one else's!) so wants to spend all day walking up and down stairs (yes it's as fun as you think !) and we went to the park saturday and sunday and he ignored the swings and slides just went up the steps to the slide and down again. He CANT do it unaided but keeps wanting to try (little bugger has a tantrum if you try and hold his hand while he is 'practicing') so I have had many, many near heart attacks over the weekend.

We have MMR today . He is currently led apparently humping the floor surrounded by the remains of his breakfast!! I have got all his favourite things out to play and eat throughout the day so that he will forgive me for letting them hurt him (yes I am the mother that bribes her children!).

Ooh better be off, he's decided to help me type xx

BabyBolat · 19/04/2010 08:27

Oh and apparently he can take his t-shirts off by himself now. Brilliant.

PuzzleRocks · 19/04/2010 08:50

Just quickly..

Well done Alex.

Get well soon Hazel.

Be brave today Kara.

conkertree · 19/04/2010 13:03

poor wee Hazel - hope it all clears up quickly.

hope Kara wasn't too upset by his injection - think they have short memories still so it's often worse to watch.

the stairs are fun aren't they. ds1 learned to walk at 14 months and he tackled the stairs at an age that you could kind of show him how to climb down again himself, but ds2 seems to be a typical second child who thinks they should be able to do everything that their siblings can do, so we finally fitted stair gates a while ago after a few heart attack moments.

they are off with their granny just now so am enjoying a final creme egg that i found at the back of the cupboard while kilting and listening to the radio - feel bad that I am enjoying some time alone so much.

Hope all the birthdays so far have gone well.

BabyBolat · 19/04/2010 13:13

Ah well wasn't as bad as I thought, they didn't have any of the MMR vaccine as it hadn't been delivered so just pneumonia (sp?), back for MMR in 3 weeks. He didn't even flinch until the nurse said, 'all done, weren't you a brave boy' and then he screamed .

He is quite good he wont go up stairs unless someone is with him, he sits on the bottom steps and waits for you, it's just he hasn't realised his legs are too little for him to actually walk and step up and down them (rather than crawl) at the moment!!

conkertree · 19/04/2010 13:18

oh and well done Alex too.

MrsAFlowerpot · 19/04/2010 20:07

Get better soon Hazel and well done to Kara. Aoife smacked the nurse at her 12 month vaccine last week

AuldAlliance · 19/04/2010 20:18

Schulte, hope Hazel is OK, poor wee thing.

I am pathetic for boasting about Alex taking teetering, rushing steps, when meanwhile Kara is climbing the stairs, soon to be climbing Ben Nevis.

MIL has come for 2 days to help out, then is rushing back to take DS1's sick cousin to hospital for the start of evil cortisone/steroid treatment (which involves dietary restrictions of no salt or sugar for 2 years: my mind hurts even thinking of how to make that bearable or workable for a 4yr old).

DS1 should go back to school on Thurs, but I am sure he must have given his chickenpox to Alex and I have no one to look after a spotty Alex while I am working.

CM (who has just driven a small marathon back from northern Holland) is calling the other mindees' parents to see if they object to a potentially pox-ridden baby frequenting theirs. Think I know the answer. Question is what the hell I am going to do for the next 2 or so weeks till he shows symptoms and then passes the contagious stage?

BabyBolat · 19/04/2010 21:07

Oh Auld, sorry I cant be of any help (my french childminder finding skills are worse than my french speaking skills ).

LOL at Ben Nevis, although if he did it would mean I would get some peace and quiet for a bit! The first thing the nurse said today was 'well, aren't you active!' she has no idea. Ah I love him really xxx

dawntigga · 19/04/2010 21:45

Waves, sorry I've been MIA but I now have a lovely organised sewing room to work in and an idea for a business!

No time to catch up but Auld, can you wear him at work?

Happy birthday to everyone I missed

GoingToBaskInMyWorkRoomTiggaxx

PuzzleRocks · 20/04/2010 08:26

Happy Birthday Beth

PuzzleRocks · 20/04/2010 08:27

Happy Birthday Basti

BabyBolat · 20/04/2010 11:33

OK I was too eager with my happy Birthday-ing yesterday x

AuldAlliance · 20/04/2010 11:45

Rushing in: A is at the CM's! The other parents seem to think CP is not the black death and are willing to take their chances. MIL has been looking after DS1 and I have got loads of work done.

Tigga, I'd love to be able to carry A at work, but sadly he'd have my students all cooing and laughing within 5 mins and the class would descend into chaos; he had most of the passengers on the plane we took last week laughing and playing peekaboo between the seats with him.

AuldAlliance · 20/04/2010 11:45

PS tell us about your business plan, Tigga!

Guimauve · 20/04/2010 17:27

Happy birthdays Beth and Sebastian!

Schulte · 20/04/2010 20:35

Auld, glad you could send A to the childminders, sounds like you're emerging from the chaos.

MIL helping out here too, as I was off again with H today - DH had her all day yesterday so I could go to work. I even managed to bake a cake for Hazel's birthday

Love to all.

Guimauve · 21/04/2010 07:11

Happy Birthday to Hazel, Edmund and Sam!

Hope Hazel is feeling a bit better Schulte.

mrsgboring · 21/04/2010 07:39

Wow Gui you're quick off the mark, and very good with the birthdays. Happy birthday to all the April one year olds, and happy birthday to co-birthdayers Hazel and Sam Hope Hazel is feeling better Schulte. Well done on cake.

Auld glad you're not in total pox quarantine.

Very interested in your business plan, Tigga. Bet it's a good one.

Sorry been off the planet here and a bit behind with the thread.

love to all
