Thanks MrsA!

Gui - Mum is much better, feeling more like herself, drove her car for the first time the other day. We're in a weird hiatus where the cancer will probably come back, but we don't know when or how, and it possibly (but it's not very likely) might not come back at all. So we're all just enjoying the fact that Mum is here and feeling well and the sun is shining.

Good morning

By ZuluWarrior
We're meeting Auld tomorrow at Deep Sea World. Woohoo!! Anything I need to know Boff?

Why? Is Boff an Oceanographer too?

Conker - I am bitterly jealous of your shark dive. I desperately wanted to do the same a few years back but I get terrible claustrophobia which seems to prevent me from diving. I gave the instructor grey hairs whilst in the practice pool. I pulled out the regulator and took gulps of water three times befoe he decided enough was enough, it perhaps wasn't for me. It's still my dream to see a Great White up close. Maybe South Africa in a few years time. But from a boat.

ThreeBees · 09/04/2010 12:47

I wondered if, since Boff has met AA before, she had any suspect personality traits. Turns out she's lovely. Who would have thought it? .

ZuluWarrior · 09/04/2010 12:59

Bugger. Seems I've given away my nomme de plume. ThreeBees is Zulu. Since I've blown my cover, anyone got any wise advice for me here?

surprisenumber3 · 09/04/2010 13:11

Zulu, glad you had a good time with AA

With regards to your thread, I had a smear that showed borderline changes then six months later mild changes, then I went for colposcopy which showed everything to be ok. That was about 12 years ago or more (when you had smears if you were on the pill no matter what age) and everything has been fine since! It is a tricky situation though, hope you manage to make a decision.

WFH - glad your mum is doing well. This sunshine certainly does work wonders for your state of mind!

Can anyone else join us for meet up?

bronze · 09/04/2010 16:27

Happy Birthday babies

I won't be posting much at the moment as I'm struggling and I can never post when I'm down. Look after yourselves I'm sure I'll be back soon enough

BoffinMum · 09/04/2010 16:57

AA is indeed lovely, but as I have always said, a chest wax and removal of the beard would improve her no end.

She ate all the Greggs sausage rolls when she was staying at my place. So guard your packed lunch.

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2010 17:26

Sorry you are having a crappy time Bronze. We will be thinking of you.
Don't stay away too long.

Guimauve · 09/04/2010 17:35

Happy Birthday BabySardine James

Bronze, really hope everything turns around for you soon.

Schulte · 09/04/2010 20:21

Hello hello! Happy birthday to all the early April babies on here. Well done to the mums for surviving the first year.

WFH I would definitely apply for the job. I bet if it was the other way round he wouldn't think twice about going for your role. Good luck.

Bronze so sorry you're having a hard time

I don't think I can take Thursday off but might be able to do a half day. Since I work in Richmond it should be easy to join you. Will have a look on FB. Or maybe you should all come to my office, especially if it rains

DH had to pick the girls up from nursery yesterday and put them to bed because I was out for work drinks. He admitted that he found it bloody hard, so hopefully I'll get a bit more sympathy and support from now on. I am planning on letting him do the pick up once a week while I go have a drink!

We may have found a house but are currently haggling over the price. In fact we are haggling over a mere 1k but somehow neither DH nor I are 100% convinced that this house is THE ONE. Mainly because it's not in our village but in the next village. Do you all think that if we even have the slightest doubt, we shouldn't buy it?

Lots of hugs all round.

conkertree · 10/04/2010 07:18

drinks once a week sounds like a great idea Schulte. It's good when dhs finally accept that child care is hard.

having been in with the boys all week with no means of escape from this house as had to wait in for deliveries, it then got to much anticipated Friday night (normally homemade pizza and a nice bottle of red wine), and we did bugger all. Ds1 started by pouring bubble mixture all over the rolled out dough, then had to go and view a house at 7pm as it was the only time they could show us, so that mucked up bedtimes. ds2 was then up till we gave up trying to settle him and went to bed at 10pm after watching absolutely nothing on the telly . Both boys then up this morning at 6.15 so both me and dh are in foul moods.

today was meant to be cycling down the canal to a beer festival in a pub but typically we will probably both still be in moods, ruin the whole weekend and then it'll get to monday and the whole dull week will start again. we do it with holidays too.

anyway. Hope things brighten up for you Bronze - I did the same of staying away for a while, and I did feel happier after a while and want to post again, so I hope it's not too long till you are back.

zulu - i dont know a thing about smears but seems like you got some sensible advice on your thread.

puzzle - it was absolutely brilliant but quite scary too - it was definitely not something you could do with claustrophobia - I had to talk myself down into the tank after the practice bits, and all the way round but it was worth it. beautiful creatures.

Guimauve · 10/04/2010 11:41

Happy Birthday WFH!

Schulte · 10/04/2010 20:55

Happy birthday!

PuzzleRocks · 10/04/2010 21:03

Bugger, sorry i'm late. Happy birthday WFH.

AuldAlliance · 10/04/2010 21:40

Hello,
Have just discovered that my dad's internet connection zorks, unlike my mum's, so I can finally get online. His QWERTY keyboard is troublng me after years of AZERTY French ones, though, so sorry for any typos...

I am having a LOVELY holiday, the DSs are being adorable, my Mum is doing all the work and I had a great day out with the very lovely ZuluWarrior, her cute BabyWarrior and a bunch of starfish, seals and sharks.

Bronze, keep posting, in case we can say anything useful.

WFH Happy Birthday.

And Happy Birthday to the April babies.
Alex will be one tomorrow, and I am getting all nostalgic remembering his high-speed arrival and how much this thread & your support and banter meant. It's not always been a bed of roses by a very long shot, but we have all come through it intact and more or less smiling (if through gritted teeth at times) and I am feeling pretty damn proud of myself after a fairly tough year.

So here's to all the April babies and especially to their mothers.

Hic!

AuldAlliance · 10/04/2010 21:41

gah

zorks = zorks
told you I couldn't zork the keyboard.

AuldAlliance · 10/04/2010 21:41

ffs

zork = work

Guimauve · 11/04/2010 07:39

Ah, the 11th of April, our most prolific day I believe!

Happy Birthday George!
Happy Birthday Clement!
Happy Birthday Isla!
Happy Birthday Elizabeth!
Happy Birthday Alexandre!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 11/04/2010 08:05

Good morning

Thank you for birthday wishes! I had a lovely day despite a really sore throat - kept popping the paracetamol all day and managed to stay upright.

We set up our new trampoline in the garden and had some friends over with their children, so it was a chaotic experience of children going boing! and running in and out of the house in the sunshine. Ideal. DS1 didn't go to bed till 10.30pm

Now sadly I am up with Orbit - Orbit is eating a banana and I am trying frantically to fill in the application form for that job, which is due in tomorrow morning first thing. Bah.

ZuluWarrior · 11/04/2010 19:09

Happy birthday Alex! And all the other 11th babies!

AA, I thought zorks was quite a descriptive word and I think I prefer it to works! Your boys are indeed adorable and I'm glad you're enjoying the rest of your holiday.

WFH good luck with your job application.

Off to work now....

Guimauve · 11/04/2010 19:25

Had a go on a trampoline today....must work on that pelvic floor

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 11/04/2010 22:59

Am a bit confused - why has Anish Kapoor named his Olympic sculpture after my son?

Guimauve · 12/04/2010 06:37

I prefer your Orbit.

Happy Birthday Baby phdlife!!

PuzzleRocks · 12/04/2010 08:20

And only slightly smaller than the original Orbit.
