Here we go!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dawntigga · 08/03/2010 19:45

So when are they supposed to meet milestones then? Why call them milestones if they may not reach them?

PapaOscarTiggaxx

Schulte · 08/03/2010 19:47

As far as I know Tigga - walking any time between 8 months and 18 months...

Crawling any time between 4 months and 12 months...

and so on.

Schulte · 08/03/2010 19:51

Oh and of course some never crawl at all. My brother went straight from reversing into everything to walking. And our neighbour's dd did the bear walk instead of crawling, it was quite funny

Bicnod · 08/03/2010 19:57

Done it done it done it

ooooo Schulte, maybe O will go from reversing to walking. Suspect not but you never know.

Now ladies. I have a confession to make. I signed up to get emails from plumbaby ages ago when O was necking their porridge like it was going out of fashion. A while ago they sent an email asking for people to send in pics of babies eating their stuff. So I did - I sent in one of O with his face covered in porridge and grinning like a loon. Didn't think anything of it but then today they've sent an email asking for permission to use it on a new pack of food. DH says we should say yes because, and I quote, 'it would be cool'. I don't think there's any harm in it - what do you lot think? Am I the ultimate pushy mum already? Feel a bit embarrassed tbh (but also a sneaky little bit proud)

dawntigga · 08/03/2010 20:00

Bicnod do it if you want to - you're hardly exploiting O!

I'm pig sick of people giving me that pitying look because he doesn't fecking crawl yet!

FoxtrotOscaredTiggaxx

Schulte · 08/03/2010 20:15

Bicnod - do it! Will he get free porridge for life in return?

Schulte · 08/03/2010 20:16

I don't suppose Gui is around? I have a question for a pharmacist... or maybe Zulu could help...

ZuluWarrior · 08/03/2010 20:53

I'm here Schulte, although won't necessarily know the answer. But I have access to books that might!

aoifesmama · 08/03/2010 21:01

Hi all

Tigga A is doing a and sometimes c (I think) she is standing but only walks when holding on to my arms. I really think its because her head is extra big (REALLY!) and she tries to look down when she's stepping, which throws her off balance.

Bicnod do it, I think its good fun and O will have a claim to fame to show off when he's older.

I am also thinking of namechanging, not because I've upset anyone on AIBU, but as my SIL is pregnant and I may upset her if she sees comments about my MIL!!

Will have a think for a name instead of my oh so original one!

Schulte · 08/03/2010 21:02

Oooh excellent, sorry to bother you. Hazel was prescribed Chloramphenicol 0.5% eye drops on Friday for sticky eye - yellow gunk and stuck together eyelids in the morning. She had two doses on Friday and then I forgot to put the bottle back in the fridge so it was out all night in a room of about 20C. We have kept using the drops 4 times a day (and even 2 hourly yesterday in sheer desperation) but her eyes still haven't cleared up, if anything it's got worse. Is it possible that leaving them out of the fridge has stopped them working? It's obviously difficult to get them into her eyes but with DD1 they usually clear her eyes up within a day even if she's got her eyes closed when we administer the drops.

What do you think?

WildRumpus · 08/03/2010 21:07

Ah Bicnod - do it! My mother shamelessly exploited me got me to do child modelling (for which I never saw a penny! - apparently her management fees were 100%)

How's the car? I've gone round and round the park a lot to get my head round driving the thing.

Talking of which - Surprise - you may as well park in Richmond Park if we meet there. A few of us have met at Pembroke Lodge in the past which is reasonably practical: free parking, coffee, food, baby changing facilities etc. Otherwise Southbank would be fun.

I am happy to do any date apart from either of my children's actual birthdays (2 and 20 April)

WildRumpus · 08/03/2010 21:13

Schulte - I know nothing about drugs but I've found sticky eye can take a little while to get over.

Oh and on the progress front:

Basti crawls. He says 'Bah' 'Mamma' 'Babba' and 'Brrrr'.

Oh and I wanna do the Edinburgh meet-up too [greedy emoticon]. Not sure I can make it up to the meadows or the Botanical gardens [wistful emoticon].

MrsAFlowerpot · 08/03/2010 21:15

Right have changed from aoifesmama. My DSis has also just phoned to say she is pregnant...is it bad to already be broody considering A is still not sleeping through the night (or really even trying to!!!)?

Schulte · 08/03/2010 21:16

Oh, Hazel tries to say 'hello' but it sounds more like 'heya'. And she loves waving at people, she usually starts waving as soon as anyone opens our front door to leave the house

Must go to bed, Zulu if you do have an answer I'll check in the morning, thanks so much for your help.

Night night.

ZuluWarrior · 08/03/2010 21:16

Schulte, more of a pharmacists bag I think, but I would have thought it unlikely that leaving the drops out would make them stop working. Conjunctivitis can take a few days to clear up - I would persevere a day or so longer and then maybe see your GP again.

Not my area of expertise though...

BabyWarrior can crawl and walk with a baby walker. No words though! I think he'll be the brawn of the operation.

Schulte · 08/03/2010 21:17

Thank you Zulu!

ZuluWarrior · 08/03/2010 21:18

Love the name MrsA. And i'm broody as hell. Congrats to your sister!

AuldAlliance · 08/03/2010 21:25

Oh WildRumpus, you must come, now that you have a posh motor. It's a just a quick whirl up the motorway.
There is now an amazing kids' play area on the Meadows, where the bowling green was. Brilliant. Must be good fun of an evening when you've had a few. More than the boriong old swings on the corner diagonally opposite the Dick Vet, where I remember swinging drunkenly at the age of 17.

But we will be doing a daytime, kid-friendly meetup, not drunken play on the climbing wall.

Frekkles is coming.

AuldAlliance · 08/03/2010 21:29

Tigga, A can say "papapa" and "mamama". Does that count?
Oh, and he can imitate a donkey if you show him a picture of one.

He can crawl, climb stairs and has begun trying to stand. He lasts 10-15 seconds before leaning forwards to be caught.

He has two bottom teeth. I think he might just get a full set of milk teeth before he turns 21.

At this stage DS1 had a mouthful of teeth, and he walked just in time for his 1st birthday. Can't quite remember when he spoke; his first word was Daddy, that I do remember.

WildRumpus · 08/03/2010 21:30

MrsA - fab name. Congrats on all the upcoming cousins for A.

Yeah I am frequently broody and I have one about to turn 3 who doesn't always sleep through the night. And then there is the baby...

Must follow Shulte's example. Way past my bed time.

WildRumpus · 08/03/2010 21:31

Oooooh Auld - tempted. What date are you meeting?

WildRumpus · 08/03/2010 21:37

Auld - wonder if we ever simultanously swung drunkenly on those swings....

bebemoohatessnot · 09/03/2010 07:14

Morning;wish I were still sleeping, but heyho, I'm beginning to think I must be a very wicked person .
Moo on the other hand has slept through the night! Lovely. Now if who ever is listening can keep it that way for a while so I can recover, it'd be much appreciated.

Congrats on the cousin(s) for A Exciting.

Bicnod I think it's fine abt the pic; very sweet in fact. My sister got her picture taken for the newspaper once and it still get's pulled out much to her bemused annoyance. (Of course then she became the 'Miss' of our town so her picture got splattered over all sorts of papers then.

Right moo is up.
x

dawntigga · 09/03/2010 07:23

moo dish!!!!!

Right, the next person who asks if he's crawling yet it getting a 'Yes, he is' answer. He can bum shuffle forwards but gets stuck if he can't turn around - upsetting for him, fecking hilarious for me.

IAmABadMommaTiggaxx

AuldAlliance · 09/03/2010 08:00

Rumpus, we haven't fixed a date. Between April 5th and 9th most probably.
It would be fantastic if you could come!!!!
