She had to do a urine test in the sugery and they use dipsticks (bit like the keytone ones you can use for Atkins). It is quite common in girls as they have such a short urethra, so germs can get back up quite easily (apparently). I had suspected it as the 4 day temp wasn't following any flu/virus rules. The minute the calpol or ibuprofen kicked in, she seemed right as rain, then started to wilt as it wore off agian. Very weird. Anyway, hopefully nearly al over.

off to bed now as have to go into the office tomorrow. gasp.

I'm seriously considering a MN haircut, yours looks amazing Books. And the cake is brilliant, he must have been so pleased.

Funding result should be provisional by mid-April and confirmed for definite by August! Not keeping me hanging there at all then!

AF not appeared but skin a mess, hair a mess and feeling very irritable so got high hopes

Off to bed as propping up eyelids. Glad I'm not the only one with a non sleeper still. We made DS's big bed up in his room today since my two were damaging the bed from keep climbing on the base with no matress. I ordered a child's matress which we never did with DD - we already had a single bed that she inherited - and it is ridculously springy. So they had lots of fun jumping around on that this evening ruining the matress instead of the base and then snuggled up together under the duvet with DD begging us to let her sleep there. Was very cute.

Lenni · 08/03/2010 22:31

Should point out that DS still sleeping in his cot, no intention of moving him just yet. Although DD was in her big bed at 15mo, but she was a difficult pigheaded damned awkward child.

hackneyzoo · 08/03/2010 23:00

Aww, that's so sweet Lenni.
Well MN haircut good....HKZ attempt at fringe Oh well, I have headbands/hats/it'll grow back.
Right....am really off to bed in a minute now. Am reading Wolf Hall and can't get into it.... need a good novel recommendation.

~Tink....DD , poor girls, has been a victim of Salon Mummy a few times now (lucky fo rher she doesn't have a fringe )

Hope the painting went well too.

J's biopsy was all pretty straight forward, DH took him in at seven, he had the GA and biopsy by about 11 and then we took him home around half one, sp not too much waiting around. Results are a week thursday on 18th I think.

Sold a load of stuff on ebay, so just bought DD a couple of stripey jumpers from mini boden and DS a pair of funky star shorts...and a few bits from baby gap which I happened to walk by on the way home today...eek.

Right am going to use my day off wisely and put a whole heap more stuff onto ebay. Have a really crappy cold and cough so am hoping it is gone by the morning as it kept me up half the night.

Good Morning All

Hackney Hungover... hilarious. DH and I were talking the other day how we are actually afraid to get drunk now because of the hangover. lol

Lenni Big bed at 15 months! Really? DD will be there in a few days. I don't think she is nearly ready. I think I'll wait till she can climb out, which is what happened to my friend the other day. She was showering in the ensuite and heard her DH say, "Hey buddy", referring to their DS who just cruised into their bedroom. He thought mom got him up before she went into the shower but no, he escaped the crib! DD can get her toes up on the railing but hasn't been able to leverage herself up, thank goodness.

Tink Me too... maybe your mum can take a 'working vacation' to the west coast of Canada.

OMG! You guys are cutting your hair! Brave. I'm at that point right now where I need to get to the spa for some serious hair removal... everywhere. EEEK. I have finally grown my hair nice and long again; I find it easier and cheaper to manage. I can't bring myself to cut DD's hair. I think it comes from having too many bad home cuts from my mother in the '80's... ya, I know, it was the '80's and there was nothing good about a mullet then either, but still it was very tragic to me. lol

DD was sleeping very well at night for a couple of months, waking only around 2.30 and 6. I could get her back down for an hour when she woke at 6. But now, since she has started to walk by herself, she is back to BF wake hours, pretty much every two and it takes forever to get her back down. She was woken up this morning for the umpteenth time by my Uncle's girlfriend getting up at 5.30. I find it funny that she goes to the spare room to shower and get ready for work so's not to disturb my Uncle but she wakes DD who brings down the house when she is woken up. I have told them, but they don't get the message so now we let her cry it out, mainly because we need her to learn to sleep through the noise but a wee bit to disturb them so maybe they'll get the message when they are continuously disturb. Its a little passive-aggressive but they both are.

Well, I gotta go. DD is being a cow right now and DH is not doing anything but looking at her.

chefswife · 09/03/2010 17:12

Hackney Glad to hear biopsy went off without a hitch. As for Baby Gap; you're forgiven... I love that shop and have to make a concerted effort to cross the street to be sure I don't go in.

PatTheHammer · 09/03/2010 17:35

Hey- check you all out with your haircuts and !!! They look great!

Fabby cake too books, bet it was delicious!

MissJ- you should have popped in! More the merrier! Do you have any plans over easter hols, we may be able to take a day trip out to your place one day, save you the drive!

Glad biopsy went well HKZ, just popping by for news really on that.

Chef, good to see you on here, funny to think of V being 15mths, always forget she is a tad older. DD went in big bed at 22 mths when she climbed out of cot. Her best friend was 3.4 yrs when he moved over..............each to their own!

Back later.............

Oh, anyone know if dog's parents ok now? has she been on lately?

First week back at work has been good!

chefswife · 10/03/2010 21:40

Books I just read an article about SCISD or Severe Child-Induced Sleep Deprivation where a woman was trying to go through the check-out at the grocery store with two little ones fussing and when the cashier mentioned to her that he had a child the same age as her youngest but that she slept through the night, she promptly broke a cucumber over his head. I can relate but DH and I have a bit of a routine now that is way better for me. After stopping night feeds, DH is able to get her back down now so he does the 'first shift' because he gets home around 11pm and doesn't come to bed till about 2 which is about when DD wakes. By then, I've had about 5 hours straight sleep so its much better now but up till about a month ago, I was running on 3 hours of sleep a night that wasn't even consecutive hours. I didn't realize what a zombie I was. Just getting those continuous hours of sleep, I've noticed a difference in my stamina for working out and definitely feel friskier, which is beneficial for DH too. For the most part now, its sudden sounds that wake her. Uncle came home at 12.30 last night and woke her and after about 10 minutes of ear piercing crying, (its a different cry when she's woken up like that) she slept till 4.30 which she woke herself, but she is barely awake and it only takes a few moments to get her back down and she doesn't really cry, just a cry like noise to get my attention. But the fact that SCISD is recognized as a defense is great.
