New thread idea good jfly!

See what I did, now we are two - for those with new number 2 and expecting number 2.

And all the rest of us who get at least 2 tantrums a day from the 2 year olds.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
turtle23 · 01/10/2010 11:50

T has double ear infection. That would explain it. Good night everyone.

megonthemoon · 05/10/2010 08:23

DD did a cluster feed for 7 (!) hours last night - 5pm-midnight - but then slept until 7am!!! I'm gobsmacked - took DS 10 weeks, not 10 days, to do this and then he didn't do it again until he was 6 months old. Even if it's a fluke, it was very nice indeed :)

Of course, DS wasn't so obliging so DH was up with him twice last night...

Is there ever a point with 2 children where they are both being angel children at exactly the same time? Or do they decide between themselves who gets a turn at being the difficult one? :o

turtle23 · 07/10/2010 19:17

meg...i'm happy for you but i hate you. :) T has never slept more than 7 hours at 10 months.

Internet romance now taking up faaaaaar too much time. Accidentally talked for 14 hours the other day..........

turtle23 · 10/10/2010 12:03

by the way...am now in too deep. he is talking about moving here. eek.

turtle23 · 10/10/2010 12:28

Due to husband lurking...please do not mention on facebook. :)

turtle23 · 11/10/2010 16:48

And now a proposal. Eek.

megonthemoon · 12/10/2010 12:23

Shock Grin

Ewe · 12/10/2010 14:39

Fucking hell turtle. What!?? 14 hours on the phone? Him moving here? You're nuts Grin Did you fancy meeting up on Monday if I can tear you away from the phone?

That is incredibly impressive sleeping meg, you lucky thing, long may in continue.

Someone has replaced my angelic DD with a little demon. She had two time outs this morning between waking up and leaving for nursery, a whole 30 odd minutes. She has taken to foot stamping and yelling and when she doesn't get her own way shouting "PLEASE NOW!!".

Bless Hmm

turtle23 · 12/10/2010 14:43

Ewe- sounds good. if i'm still alive. or tristan is. have caved and doing sleep training and i dont know if we will both survive it. Text me Mon morning?

Ewe · 12/10/2010 14:58

Will do - you'll be fine, both of you will survive and the net result at the end of it will hopefully be more sleep all round (and a Mummy who can leave him to go out and have a bit of fun, woohoo!).

Dontpanic · 13/10/2010 00:59

Turtle, wtf!!!
And are you sure your exH isn't still lurking on here to check up on you?

How is everyone, especially our currently preggers members? :)Anybody given birth since I last caught up?

turtle23 · 13/10/2010 12:45

Don't care anymore. If he's fishing here he's really bored. :)

It's all nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuts!

turtle23 · 21/10/2010 14:18

It just gets stranger and strangerer. We have now moved on to how long to wait before having baby. Am being realistic here and saying not til living on same continent. WTF am I doing...

Dontpanic · 21/10/2010 19:06

or maybe, not until you've actually lived together anywhere for more than 24hrs? :)
Have you actually met him before?

turtle23 · 22/10/2010 08:34

DP- We dated 18 years ago. But am actually feeling slightly less nuts now. We will see.

turtle23 · 27/10/2010 09:58

It really is dead around here.........

littleducks · 27/10/2010 23:05

totally

we need a meet up b4 xmas to invigorate the thread!

cryhavoc · 28/10/2010 14:39

We have all been very bad at posting. My excuse is that the screen on my trusty iPhone is in almost complete darkness due to someone small and pesky dropping it into the mop bucket. It works, hoorah, but I can only see the screen if I am in broad daylight or directly underneath a light. All of which means Twitter is far more userfriendly for me at the moment. And I (age old mother moan) just never seem to have the time to sit down and post. Am getting loads of freelance work, which I can't afford to turn down, as well as the degree, and the dogs, and the child...

How is everyone? (Broad and sweeping catch up here...)

meg, how are you getting on? How has DS taken to DD? More pics on FB please.

jfly how long have you got to go now?

Same old same old with us. I am back at uni with a vengance - I feel much more capable this year, and have almost certainly decided on the branch of law I want to go into. Ff still seems to have largely sidestepped the more terrible side of the twos - don't get me wrong, she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to scream ask, but she is also very sweet natured and easily distracted.

She's very into music at the moment. DH keen to harness this and has bought her a pink ukelele, so they have guitar sessions together. If you ask her what her guitar is for she raised says, 'Rocking out!' which makes Daddy very proud indeed. And wherever she goes she sings along to herself, which is lovely.

That's about it. Off to a Hallowe'en party on Sunday so I need to source some sort of costume I suppose.

Come on everyone else, your turn now!

JFly · 28/10/2010 21:02

OK, OK, I'm here! :)

Urgh, just less than 5 weeks to go, and definitely no more than 6 weeks as I've a "just in case" CS booked for December 7th. Very strange to know that I will definitely have a baby by that date! It was kind of like scheduling a pedicure, "how's 9:45am, Tuesday?" Very odd, indeed.

I would love a meet up, but would have to be sooner than later, for obvious reasons. Nursery schedule means Monday or Friday best if we want kiddos, too, otherwise G in nursery T/W/Th 12-3pm.

CryHavoc, your schedule and motivation amaze me. And also your yummy meals you're always tweeting about. Am very Envy of the deliciousness.

megonthemoon · 30/10/2010 08:33

Hello. All a bit crazy here. Toddler + newborn + house renovations + OU Maths course = Chaos^2

Will upload pics soon cryhavoc but combination of not being PFB and having severe case of newborn acne means there aren't too many photos of DD's early days!

DD is very relaxed and happy. First 3 weeks she slept 6 hours straight each night which was wonderful and we are really feeling the benefits now as not completely dead on our feet. Unfortunately she then caught a cold so has been a bit more unsettled, but to be honest it's only relative to how she was the first few weeks: there is still usually only one waking between 11 and 6 and she settles quickly so I'm getting about 6 hours a night which is brilliant. She then sleeps all morning and has little awake periods in the afternoon and then enjoys watching Masterchef and the Apprentice with us in the evening. She is much more predictable and settled than DS ever was - partly because we know what we're doing but very much because she is just very chilled out (there is a reason she was induced - she couldn't be bothered with the effort of being born!) Basically, she is a joy and I'm very happy :) At some point she will turn into non-sleeping child as I know I don't have this much luck with babies, but I'm just very grateful that the early weeks haven't been too tough.

DS loves her too - he loves kissing her and cuddling her and telling me when she needs milk. He does also prod and poke her and rock her so violently that I feel seasick just watching, but all in all he's taken to her as well as I could have expected.

JFly - so close now! Hope you enjoy these last few weeks with G being your baby. It is very true that when the new one arrives you see your PFB with new eyes (they seem so big and capable!)

Meet up would be lovely if Mon or Fri in London or somewhere within an hourish of Sussex (anywhere south London round to M4 really)

cryhavoc · 31/10/2010 11:08

Pox. There be pox here!

Turtle, how is P?

turtle23 · 31/10/2010 11:10

P was fine for 24 hours after op. I snow feeling very small and sad. Codeine is getting him through...fingers x-ed no more tonsillitis..........

littleducks · 31/10/2010 22:10

Cryhavoc- x1 or x2? I recommend piriton for the itching and dont believe that bfing prevents babies catching cp, it can but both my ds caught it and friends ds 2 weeks to the day after older ones did though both babies were bfed

Turtle- didnt realise P had his tonsils out, poor him

cryhavoc · 01/11/2010 09:17

Just one, because, um, I only have one Grin. Easy enough mistake to make though - I am a serial name changer and there is an abundance of fertility around here of late.

Thank you for the advice - we have been giving her Piriton, and so far she seems pretty cheerful. The majority of the spots seem to be on her face though, so I am constantly watching her to make sure she doesn't scratch.

Luckily her best mate has had the pox already, so we can go and play with him when he finishes pre-school later.

littleducks · 01/11/2010 09:22

cryhavoc- are you FF? i was thinking you were crashfistfight Blush

am currently potty training ds, it is one of my most hated parenting chores and am very musch missing laminate from old house but am trying to think of the ££££ i will save on nappies! I now pay £200 a week for a nursery place (has to be full time as cpourse hours so variable week to week) and that doesnt include nappies/wipes!!!!!
