Star Q sounds fine. If he was unresponsive or really difficult to keep awake then I would worry. Yes you are correct vomiting is a sign of concussion but normally it occurs quite soon after if it is going too.
As I am typing this W has just slipped forward and banged his face on the TV unit! Silly boy.

50ft can u text me your address? I will come only if it is ok to bring 2 children with colds? If you want me to stay away then I understand.

Oops my dinner is ready. Good DH

pepperrabbit · 14/02/2010 16:24

DD seems to have the vomity thing today. I've done 7 loads of washing in 24 hours and that's not sheets/towels.. just clothes!!! we were going to go out for lunch but couldn't face the potential projectile vomit! She's quite happy and seems hungry, then chucks it all back up
Just in time for half term! I await sicky small boys, but it'll prob get them in the middle of the night [doomed].
Now going back to read a week's posts as I've been pants this week online.

StarExpat · 14/02/2010 19:55

yuck pepper. Sorry to hear that
We went out for breakfast and late lunch today Q was a star

DH made lovely choc covered strawberries with crushed almonds that I've been snacking on all day

Poor W! I hope he's ok after banging his face! I wish I could take stuff like that in such stride.

Right we are def coming. W is pretty much back to normal. Snotty.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/02/2010 20:57

If it's not okay to bring children with colds then we're screwed too ronshar!
Am just hoping that I don't come down with conjunctivitis overnight, as dh has developed it this afternoon.

Party went very well thanks pistachio. All the kids seemed to really enjoy it, the parents all seemed to be impressed with the venue, and I even had time to chat to some of them, unlike last year. And of course dd had a ball .

50ftQueenie · 14/02/2010 21:37

All the children that are here have colds already so we can create our own germ cloud. Cold germs are fine, hardly avoidable.

Anyway, can't chat we have guests......

Enjoy your meet up today
Q is at home with DH this week. hahaha he has to change dirty nappies!!! I cringe though because I don't think he does as thorough of a job as I do ... but it's just a week and just a week of coming home to a disaster and spending more time than usual cleaning.... just a week.... ughhhhh

StarExpat · 15/02/2010 10:28

quick opinion. I'm bringing pancakes for students tomorrow for snack and they are each bringing their individual sized topping or filling of choice in a small container to put in/on.
My question is should I buy them or make them? I'd have to make them this evening... so not sure they would keep?

pepperrabbit · 15/02/2010 11:03

star - I'm a woman who would always buy things like that! How many do you need?
I know what you mean about DHs and nappies.. he thinks he thorough but she had such an upset tummy yesterday I wanted him to put sudocrem on every time. DH argued we were changing her nappy every 20 minutes so it made no difference
Now she has baboon bottom.

StarExpat · 15/02/2010 11:06

Oh, poor DD, pepper
I kept telling dh yesterday that a big cause for nappy rash is not doing a thorough job with the change... and Q has not had a nappy rash in a lonnnngggg time. (since eating oranges). Hopefully that will keep him on his toes.

I need 16 pancakes for my class. I'm tempted that 8 are only £1 at tesco... the kids will probably like them better store bought anyway, won't they?

pepperrabbit · 15/02/2010 11:16

I have to confess I normally buy cakes that are going to school or nursery as so many people have so many allergies, I take the packet so everyone can see the ingredients. But I am notoriously lazy!
it would be a lot less hassle to buy them and that's a very good price.

Just marking my place. Back from a manic weekend in Leeds.

Belated happy birthday 50ft!

ronshar · 16/02/2010 10:00

Yipee its pancake day. I lurve pancakes. With chocolate, syrup, sugar, lemon, banana. Sometimes all together, sometimes not. Yum yum.

Had a great day yesterday. Got back just in time for Gymnastics. So H didnt tell me off as she kept warning me all the way home!

StarExpat · 16/02/2010 10:01

just gave them to my class.... they are all acting like they have just taken a hit of speed.

KSal · 16/02/2010 10:21

mmmmmm pancakes! i love pancakes.

by the way, forgot to say i got the book. I made the white chocolate and raspberry blondies, which are yum. Am tryi8ng them out on someone at work today, see if she can guess the vegetable. Only thing was it took a lot longer to cook than the book said, but i'm not convinced it wasn't my oven's fault.

50ftQueenie · 16/02/2010 13:46

Hello ladies! Had a very busy few days and the Myjob's are now on their way back to sunny Dorset. Had a lovely birthday, thank you for my birthday wishes. We had pancakes for breakfast this morning, well, I had ryvita and humous but everyone else had pancakes.

Had a lovely day on Monday, the babies were fabulous and the big children played nicely for the most part. D was an adorable poppet as always and gave me the loveliest cuddle before the CSWS's left.

I think I might have a nice sleep while M is napping!

StarExpat · 16/02/2010 14:04

Glad you had a lovely birthday, 50ft!

Q is now saying "oy" at just about everything. It is so funny!

Dh took him to a playgroup today. Swimming yeterday, playgroup today... what's tomorrow I wonder? I told him he should have a lazy day one of the days but not sure he'll do it. I had a lazy day with Q last week and it was heaven. (aside of visiting cm, that is, but that was short anyway).

pepperrabbit · 16/02/2010 14:52

right ladies, i need your help.
DD is still poorly, which i can deal with, it's the house I'm having a problem with...
Downstairs wher she was sick on the carpet (not the new sofas thank goodness..) stinks of vomit, I've even used bleach and some pet accident cleaner, nothings working.
Upstairs (look away if you're of a nervous disposition).... stinks of fishy shit. She had tea last night and ate quite happily a fish finger, smiley face and some veg. This morning she had the worse nappy I have EVER dealt with. I have washed, vest, sleepysuit, grobag, sheets, toys, cot bumper, mattress cover, towels. Bleached bath, changing mat, cot bars, bathroom floor. It was like armageddon, poor poor poppet. All windoews open - I can't shift the smell.
What can I do? Even the DSs have noticed..

StarExpat · 16/02/2010 14:58

Vinegar and water mix
or
windex or whatever window cleaner there is here
or
pet odour talcs for hoovering (a few times)
or
baking soda

Or all of them?
Make sure all the vomit is all out of the carpet iyswim. wet it really well with warm soapy water, use the vinegar water mix and really scrub then hoover to get it all out.

I know it sounds horrid, but vinegar/water mix really does the trick. Especially if you sprinkle some baking soda on afterward, then plug in a light fragrance or something, even... windows open is good.
