I asked GP about removing them and she said "only if it is affecting his development or sleep or suchlike" and I said "well, it's certainly affecting his, mine and DH's sleep" and she just laughed and said wait and see.

So, that explains why he had the chest infection before, then. Is it that I'm catching it earlier these past 2 times than I did the first time he ahd a chest infection? That makes sense. I wonder why he's so prone to these infections... I just wonder where I'm going wrong. I feed him well, let him socialize and play in the park, he gets outside for fresh air a lot... I don't get it.

StarExpat · 06/02/2010 21:31

50ft - I'll help you hand pick all of the sultanas out of the carrot cake before entering Ronshar's
No need to upset the hostess!

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/02/2010 21:47

All the more carrot cake for those of us that like it! Dh can stuff his face with that instead of the chocolatey coconut cake - don't worry about that star .

Some children do just seem to be prone to tonsilitis star, for no apparent reason. I know that hunkermunker's ds1 gets it absolutely loads and loads (he's about 6 now I think).

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/02/2010 21:50

I can't get into the group on fb ronshar - can you? Could you message (on fb) your numbers to those of us who are coming instead please?

50ftQueenie · 06/02/2010 21:56

I made an extra chocolate cake Especially for yooooooou" Ronshar as everyone has said it is delicious, even CSWS who doesn't really do chocolate cake. I'll save a lemon cake for you too......

Star - I think that is what happens. I have had my tonsils removed (when I was 18 so I remember how much it hurt) and the specialist explained to me why we had tonsils. I was prone to chest infections for a while afterwards and now when I get a cold, rather than getting tonsillitis, I am more likely to get a chest infection.

I already have your number Ronshar

ronshar · 06/02/2010 22:11

Got your number. ha ha.

Star some children are prone to it. In the oldy days the docs used to just take them out at the first sign of trouble. They dont do it now as they think the Tonsils protect us from worse infections.
Do keep an eye on Q hearing though. The ear nose & throat is all conected as I'm sure you are aware.

Pistachio shall I take a picture of the cakes before and after? Or is that insensitive???

HMM sounds like you are very busy at the moment. Do take care of yourself, you have been so positive recently.

Myjob did you have a good holiday? Any snow?

ronshar · 06/02/2010 22:20

Pistachio Q will be exposed to soooo much grubbiness tomorrow it is bound to make him better

We're off at 11. Just need to charge the camera battery Q looks a bit weird this morning - a bit glazy eyed... but is running around
I forgot to ask - I'm wearing Jeans and a zip up sweater... are we meant to dress up? Maybe I should put on a normal sweater....

Evening ladies. Hope that everyone got back home ok, and thank you to ronshar for hosting a lovely day.

Amazingly ds didn't fall asleep on his way home , so we managed to get him to bed at 7:20, and hoping he'll be zonked for at least 12 hours after so little sleep today. Dd did fall asleep on the way home, for 45 mins, so has stayed up to watch 'got to dance' and have jut put her to bed now. She is very excited about her birthday tomorrow!
We stopped at the big M drive through half an hour from home, where we got dd a burger and fries. She left the burger, ate the fries, and then declared it the best tea ever!

StarExpat · 07/02/2010 20:40

Yes, thank you, Ronshar for hosting a wonderful day! Your home is lovely and cozy and the children all had so much fun It was so nice of you to have us all over and I dread to think of the mess we've all created for you - I saw Q step on an already mushed piece of chocolate cake on the carpet . Also that so many got to witness him in full temper tantrum mode all because I made him give back a cup that wasn't his. My strategy is usually just to make sure he's safe and then ignore it until he's finished. I know that sounds mean!

Q slept all the way home and we made it home within 55 minutes . So easy, too. Just stayed on that one road and got home with no trouble!

Ronshar those roasted veg were so yummy. I can't seem to do them that well - can you tell me how you cooked them? How did you get them so soft and delicious?

I made dh a full fat chocolate cake when I got home but I'm not going to eat it - feeling quite chunky from eating all that veg cake over past few weeks!
He did not finish all the work but claims to have worked all day. And was snappy and snotty to me when I spoke to him when we got home I don't get it! Wtf am I doing wrong? I tried to create conversation after Q went to bed, he was still using the same tone, so I confronted him and same old same old - stared at tv and told me he just wanted to relax and I was trying to create a problem. ugh!!
Anyway, it was a lovely day with just Q today and all of you lovely ladies (and gentlemen who lurk ).

StarExpat · 07/02/2010 20:43

btw I didn't grump at him for not getting it all done when we got home. I just smiled and said how was your day? Then told him a bit about our visit and the drive...etc... and he was just snippy and short and didn't have any reaction to anything I said as if I wasn't saying anything at all... so I said "sorry, I guess you're not in the mood to talk" and he said "I'm listening star" in a snooty voice.

Ekka · 07/02/2010 20:46

Got home fine thanks CSWS. Ronshar, thanks for a great day. Dd was telling her daddy about it and announced it was the best fun ever! Your dd's were great - thanks to dd1 for keeping an eye out for M to make sure he didn't eat stuff that he shouldn't have been!

Both my dc slept on the way home, but we gave them a long overdue bath and they went to bed at normal time, lets see how good a night we get . By the way, M seems to have decided that he likes food again - he ate all his tea when we got home. Here's hoping it continues.

I was thinking that we should probably host a meet up here at some point - we're pretty easy to get to! But I won't suggest any dates until we've booked our holiday to Canada to see dh's parents.....

Hello. We got home at 8 because we outstayed our welcome as usual didn't leave until 6.20. Thank you for a lovely day Ronshar. It was very amusing to see the toddlers all wobbling about together.

DH has declared that we will do a meet up in the Summer when we can do a BBQ. That gives us plenty of time to tidy and decorate the house AND garden!
