oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

Thanks Butterfly, but she already eats little and often of her own will - she has special dried food for IBS which lasts quite well left out even in summer, so I put some out at breakfast and teatime and she picks as and when she wants during the day. We have decided though that we will try the treatment. I am a bit apprehensive but feel it is the right thing to do as there is a good chance it will work out well for her and all the reasons not to are reasons for ME not to do it.

Good vibes for the jamkit, jammy; I hope things work out for her.

bumble has solved his lip tie issue! By face planting on the base of the kitchen table and ripping it. The blood was everywhere, and when it had stopped I was able to get a look at it and the lip tie has gone. We also had the most comfortable feed to date earlier! and fingers crossed he hasn't done any damage to his teeth, but he won't let us in to feel for any wobbly teeth.

The doc told us it was unlikely we would be able to get a separation done on the NHS, so we were looking at having to pay for it to be done privately so well done bumble!!

Hello

Hope all is well.

Just marking my spot now off for a quick catch up.

Ohforfoxsake · 07/02/2010 19:51

I think that's a good decision Jammy

Daisy, I loathe and despise putting laundry away. But I have a solution. You wash a set of clothes per person everyday. Wash one, wear one, wash one, wear one. You see? Outfits are limited admittedly (works best for school uniform or spiderman dress-up). Not only are you saving yourself the tiresome task of squashing washing into drawers and cupboards, you need not open them nor have the need for additional storage space.

So simple!

LackaDAISYcal · 07/02/2010 21:16

lol foxy...I will be trying that. Have decided that rather than buying my DC loads and loads of cheap clothes, I am going to buy them a capsule wardrobe with a few good pieces. I still buy for DS1 as if he was in civvies every day, but of course he isn't...and as for the little ones, I tend to chuck a couple of t-shirts in the trolley every time I'm in Sainsbury's or Mothercare.

operation wardrobe downsize will commence as soon as possible.

So, ideas on the minimum wardrobe you can get away with for a 7 year old DS, a 2.5 year old DD and an almost 1.5 year old most welcome

Ouch, Daisy!!!!! Sorry Bumble's been in the wars, but yay if it's going to be good in the long run

I've had my cross stitch out for the first time in years Found a project I started several years ago and am trying to finish it off to give to my niece for her birthday - with the extra vets bills we'll be facing need to save some money somehow. But the main thing is I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it - very soothing. Just what I needed after an afternoon of Jamlet whinging and disregarding everything we had to say and debating with DH whether he was BU to not want to give some things on freecycle to someone who couldn't type what he considered to be a properly constructed sentence.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/02/2010 22:19

lol jammy, I read your post as jamlet doing the debating with DH and was thinking "wow, she's coming on in leaps and bounds now"

lol at him being a pedant to that degree though; he would fit in well on MN in the pedant's/pedants' corner!

Just been talking to bumper and I think she could use a bit of moral support

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 07/02/2010 22:20

oh, and I'm glad it's not just DD totally disregarding everything we say to her...is it a girl thing, or an age thing? I don't remember DS1 being this bolshy at this age; came much later with him

OP posts:
Riapwhatyousow · 07/02/2010 23:25

baggins is a bolshy as they come! as are the others

LittleMissNorty · 08/02/2010 09:02

My DD just totally ignores you and you have to call her or tell her about five times (usually with some persuasion) before she acknowledges me and it sends me NUTS.

Riapwhatyousow · 08/02/2010 09:43

baggins did a big poo on his potty

any ideas how I actually get DH to do something today, so I don't have to kill him?

CharlottesClan · 08/02/2010 14:03

for your cat jammy

for DH daisy.. tho i wish mine was like that, hes been 'dying' for months now and sitting on his arse

hes now on morphine tablets, yet somehow insists hes still in agony.

ria if you work it out let me know eh

LittleMissNorty · 08/02/2010 17:09

I wish I knew the answer Ria

Tumble dryer has packed up today. 2 wet loads in there and one wet load in the washing machine - no airer . I will buy whatever model they have in stock when I get to the shops this evening!

Just paid £51 to have a headlight bulb fitted to my car. Me and DH tried for hours yesterday to do it and there is not enough room to line it all up, get your hand in there etc. Talk about money for old rope. I'm very pissed off about it!

Right off to force feed persuade DD to eat her lovingly prepared roast dinner

Daisy - have you got any good patterns for knitting toy food?

CharlottesClan · 08/02/2010 18:17

oooh norty toy food knitted, sounds like a fab idea!

at fifty squid to have a bulb fitted! shocking how much people can charge if they know you cant do it urself

ellen just gone to bed. wouldnt eat her dinner, then threw a tantrum when i took it away, and screamed for pudding
i THINK she was tired.. shes already asleep.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/02/2010 00:21

norty...get thee to RAVELRY You need to register and iirc it takes a couple of days, but if you are a knitter/crocheter it is fantastic. Loads of patterns; some free, some for a small charge. I don't really do the discussion boards, although have had a bit of advice on a few occaisions, but have had loads of good patterns there....and if you join, I'm "me" there too; look me up

I have some patterns saved though if you don't want to join

and much empathy on the headlamp thing...it's a Renault thing apparently...DH had to pay top get someone to fit a lamp on the laguna and it involved taking out bits of engine to get to the rear of the lamp

I hope you got a tumble drier sorted out; couldn't live without ours; with five of us and bumble in nappies we would have drying clothes all over the house if we didn't TD...and it's messy anough round here without laundry as well. Oh, and it saves me ironing

Jammy, saw on FB you have decided to go ahead with the treatment for your cat; I hope she repsonds well to it, and that you get on OK with giving the injections. Get well Jamkit!!

CC, your pic of E with her shrekky baby in a sling is lovely

Flying solo this tonight as DH is on a hotel in Cambridgeshire, having a lovely undisturbed night's sleep and relaxed breakfast; the jammy barstool . I have told him that for Mother's Day I want a night in a local hotel; don't care if it's only a mile away, just the breakfast with a paper and coffee and a nice bed free of wriggly children and no danger of being woken up in the night.....blisssssssssszzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Been to docs today about murderous PMT....and have come away with a doubled dose of ADs in the second half of my cycle. Apparently SSRIs like flouxetine and sertraline are also used to treat PMS! If that doesn't work, then we will look at mini pill or mirena coil. I'm thinking perhaps I should have gotten steralised instead of DH Also took a sample for UTI as my pelvic floor has given way again and even lifting bumble causes leakage . If no UTI then internal to check muscle tone and possibly operation since pelvic floor exercises are obv not working.

Had a very nervous journey home on the bus last night - got to the bus stop and realised that Jamlet had no nappy on! (So far have put one on before leaving nursery just in case). She sat on my lap on the bus and I kept everything crossed! But it was OK, and was OK again tonight, but tonight I made sure she had a wee before we left nursery so I was fairly safe. They say she's doing really well about saying "wee" and taking herself off to the bathroom

CharlottesClan · 10/02/2010 09:47

ah jammy thats great news. ellen in pants fulltime now. and last night she got up twice for a wee, without prompting (shes been in pull ups at night)

they've not cancelled DH's op yet, mind you they cancelled the last one 4 days before.
he goes in on monday, so at least i get to spend valentines with him

LackaDAISYcal · 10/02/2010 10:25

Must be the season for cat poorliness. Daisy is not very well, and the vet thinks it's either an overactive thyroid (which explains her recent random acts of madness) or the beginnings of renal failure, or possibly a bit of both...need £110 worth of tests to figure out which.

She also pooed behind the tv at some point yesterday and then last night got up from her near death stupor on the sofa, casually staggered behind the TV and sprayed up the wall .

DH, who is not a cat lover, is mumping about forking out the money, that he likes the cat even less than he did before, and that he is less than impressed with the vet who won't have her put down for a random act of unsociable behaviour ...silly twunt

All she is doing is sleeping at the minute and isn't eating or drinking. Poor kitty, but she is at least 14 years old.

CharlottesClan · 10/02/2010 10:50

poor daisy, hope its sortable, and she gets better soon

snowing again here

LittleMissNorty · 10/02/2010 11:45

Awww poor Daisy

Well done Jamlet on no nappy - sometimes you just have to go for it Jammy . DS emptied a potty full of wee all over himself and my living room carpet last night

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/02/2010 14:10

Poor Daisy All Mia (the jamkit) does is sleep and snooze and generally lie there having a rest these days too. She does get up to eat, drink, wee and poo, and sometimes comes up onto the sofa with me for a cuddle in the evenings, but otherwise she sticks to her cushion.

Well done Ellen but yes about potty emptying! Jamlet had a great morning at nursery - and accident-free, despite playing outside a lot where they do get distracted plus it is that much further back to the bathroom. But she did poo in her pants coming home Thankfully it wasn't a sticky messy one and it was only a minute from home, so not too hard to deal with. I was impressed that although she let the poo out she held on for a wee until we got home and coats off on on the potty.

FestiveFairyFay · 10/02/2010 15:37

Hello everyone - just popping in to say hello. Sorry I haven't been around for a few months. Hope everyone's well. We're all fine - 'real life'/farmville has just been taking over a bit too much recently. DS has started pre-school 2 mornings a week, with his big sister - and is loving it - as am I . No other big news though. I hope everyone's well - have I missed any big news since about November?

LackaDAISYcal · 10/02/2010 16:23

Hi Fairy, good to see you here as well as over there

aaarrggghhh kids. gtg

OP posts:
Riapwhatyousow · 10/02/2010 22:38

hi fairy

yay for jamlet. baggins did a wee on the loo today - unfortunately he was standing on the loo with the seat down at the time, but he shouted "I did wee wee on toilet". he has lost one of my favourite earrings though (it is still in the house somewhere) and has given up on the idea of going to bed, so he needs to be adorable where he can

poor daisy DH is also not a cat lover (despite his rescuing baby Obes from a drowning in a bucket and bringing him home in the car to suck the end of his tail bald for the first year or so we had him) and gets annoyed when Obe poos in his litter (FFS, does he want him to crap on the floor?). Obe gets his revenge by sleeping on a different stair every night... He is currently sleeping right on top of the kitchen units. Hope daisy and jamkit are OK soon.

fingers crossed for DHs op natty.

My DH has had his appt cancelled next week (sorry again daisy)

glad all seems well for bumper.
