oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

Jammyrella · 11/03/2010 22:24

Well we made it out to the childrens centre and C pedal herself across the playground on one of the trikes for the first time And I wokred out how to take a video with my phone and caught it Trouble is I had to push her back as the playground is on a slight slope and she couldn't quite manage to go uphill unaided!

Riapwhatyousow · 12/03/2010 09:26

yay for jamlet

LittleMissNorty · 12/03/2010 20:00

Blimey its quiet on here. Had the week from hell workwise....30 hours at work then every evening as well.....all so I can have a week off the week after next

but tonight its wine and trash TV night

How are you doing Ria?

Riapwhatyousow · 13/03/2010 08:07

hi norty, for your week. hope your week off is extra good.

much the same here, have coped with a week. DH saw DS2&3 on Wednesday. He was still wearing his wedding ring and the elvish love ring we got in Wales a few years ago - significant do you think or laziness? We are meant to be meeting to "talk" next week. DS1 will not see him
Am having a hard time with DM, who seems to have run out of tea and sympathy and has been bordering on scathing the last 2 days
The boys are OK though, that's the main thing.

Looks like it might be a nice weekend.

Jammyrella · 13/03/2010 12:20

Norty Ria

I went to 2nd hand sale this morning. Bought a few toys/games for Jamlet, spent £5.10 And DH and jamlet made me 1-day-early cranberry & white choc mothers day cookies while I was out Got to go back soon and see if the stuff we put in for sale sold and how much for...

Jammyrella · 13/03/2010 18:50

Only about a third of it sold, so my takings were £4.80 - so less than I spent! Still we got rid of some unwanted stuff and got some things we do want, and it only cost 30p

Ohforfoxsake · 13/03/2010 19:10

Just saying hello.

Gotta get the washing folded and PJs on before the curry comes.

But 'Hello'

Riapwhatyousow · 13/03/2010 22:14

at cookies and bargainous shopping jammy,

of curry in PJs foxy

not a bad day all considered. the cleaning up of the cat poo turned into a full on spring clean of the downstairs hallway. Then took DS1 to meet his school friend, and DS2&3 to see DH who took them to the park and for a walk while I went to Tesco.

just had a chat to Dsis in NZ and am shattered now. But that's OK cos it's past my new bedtime.

Happy Mother's Day everyone, hope you all get lovely treats

Ohforfoxsake · 14/03/2010 08:58

Ria, I think a good old Spring Clean is great therapy. I find it has a very positive psychological impact and helps me feel in control of my surroundings and therefore my life.

Control freak and proud

Jammyrella · 14/03/2010 12:41

I agree with Foxy about the therapeutic properties of a good old clean out!

Had a lovely mother's day morning - despite lack of much of a lie in. Long brioche based breakfast, some games, a trip out to the nearby cycle path for more trike prealling practice (go Jamlet go!) and a quick visit to the swings. I am content.

LittleMissNorty · 14/03/2010 19:35

I got a cup of tea in bed this morning and a lie-in until 8am....what more could I want? I did get a lovely card and had a lovely walk in the park in the Spring sunshine as well.

Glad you had a good day Jammy and hope everyone else did as well.

Right off to do dinner and enjoy the P&Q

Jammyrella · 14/03/2010 20:13

Can I ask you crafty ladies () if anyone has any stuffing to spare? I am making a set of sewing accesories for my niece, and there is a pincushion and a scissor keep (which is basically the same as a pin cushion) to stuff, each about 3 inches square. I don't want to have to buy a huge bag for such a small need, so can anyone help???

Jammyrella · 14/03/2010 20:14

sounds lovely Norty

justbeme · 14/03/2010 22:54

Sorry Jammy , no stuffing here!!! (bit late for that!)

Ria, hope you are coping ok . Do you have a Womens Centre near you? I did some great courses at mine when I split with my Ex - self esteem etc - might be worth seeing if your Council has one.

Good luck Foxy - not long to go now!

Hope you all had nice Mothers Days. I spent mine crying, gardening and cooking a roast!! and now Im trying to feel comfortable when this baby is making my ribs burnnnnnn! Cant beleive I still have 11 plus weeks to go - I am HUGE!

LittleMissNorty · 15/03/2010 08:15

How about chopping up some old tights Jammy? I haven't got any stuffing I'm afraid.

11 weeks.....how exciting

DCs are going to nursery 4 days this week, and I'm working for 2 of them

Riapwhatyousow · 15/03/2010 10:07

sounds great JBM, thanks for the advice, I will look into it in a bit.

Jammy, how about buying a small piece of wadding for stuffing? That's what I use for my embroidery pieces, because I also have no need for a huge bag of stuffing when I make approximately 1 project every 18 months!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/03/2010 13:30

sorry i've been AWOL.....I have had a stomach lurgy since last week and feeling rotten. FB status is bemoaning the fact that DH has it now and his is much worse than mine . Never mind that I was premenstrual as well and am now menstrual and can't eat chocolate, or anything at all for that matter....and he is moaning about being up half the night with a teething bumble, even though I was awake half the night with stomach cramps...twunt.

other than that, nowt much happening here....

hello to all and I hope you are all well. Ria, how are things with you and yours my lovely? thinking about you xx

LackaDAISYcal · 15/03/2010 14:35

Jammy, I can help with the stuffing....I bought a bag when I made DD's teddy bear and have oodles of it left.

FB me your address and I'll send some off to you tomorrow

OP posts:
Jammyrella · 15/03/2010 17:58

Aw Daisy - you are a star!!! Sorry about lurgy

Been working at home today as the gardener started today. He's not coming as a long term regular thing, just to clear me some space as we are rather overgrown. Apparently he has taken 4 tonne bags of rubbish so far, and that is only about a third of it

Riapwhatyousow · 15/03/2010 22:21

Love the MN vibe

sorry you are ill daisy and even sorrier you have an ill man

gardener jammy???? Mellors-type? My RL friend had a gardener last time we visited. He was landscaping whilst listening to opera. (Sadly he looked like... hmm, can't think, young-ish and fitt-ish but not my type)

was meant to be meeting DH to talk today, but didn't (his reasons not mine, but they meant I got to have a bit of a rant to set a few things straight). Am now meant to be meeting him tomorrow...

Have just finished off the bottle of wine that has been sat in the fridge since he went. Funnily enough it's as I suspected and I don't feel better, but for the first time the thought of it didn't make me feel sick. Have also eaten something because I felt like eating (but that is down to my lovely mother who is obviously in serious negative energy mode and was making snide remarks about my weight tonight). shameGood job the takeaway is closed on Mondays

had a chuckle at school the other day. there are a couple of new families who seem to have both come from a not-so-local "rough" school. One family has walking stick (hark at me, judgey benefit scrounger), the other heavily PG and they were talking about names for the new baby (eg Miley), and then "I have loads of books, but who would call a baby JOB (rather than the actual pronunciation). Cheered me up. There is also a lovely pregnant person locally who is going to receive all my surplus baggins-items . It will be hard but it has to go.

Anyway, it is after 10pm, I must go to bed as it's after my bedtime, and I have to drive DS1 to school in the morning as he doesn't like getting the bus when he has to take his guitar.

sorry for long post.

Jammyrella · 16/03/2010 07:34

Hey it's good to see a long post Ria This thread has been getting quite sparse lately.

Good luck with seeing H (I assume he is not so D at the moment?) And as for the gardener? Well he's very nice and friendly but not especially good looking - well not to my eyes anyway. But as long as he makes me two flower beds, who cares!

LittleMissNorty · 16/03/2010 08:24

My garden is totally maintenance free

Good to see you posting Ria....I've been thinking about you a lot as well recently. Must be very tough, but sounds like you are doing brilliantly. JBM's idea about courses was excellent. And you do have to eat otherwise you will feel worse.

Hope DH is feeling better Daisy.....is it like having 4 kids in the house? Its like that in my house when he's ill. DS also appears to have picked up his fathers drama queen tendancies .

DS slept from 7pm till 6am last night . I seriously cannot remember if he has ever done that before.....and wish I knew what the trick was to make him do it again. Perhaps cos I turned off the monitor? I'm still knackered though!

Oh well....off on my holibobs Saturday

Jammyrella · 16/03/2010 12:25

Oooh, where you going Norty??

Ria, I also think it sounds as if you are doing really well!

Wish me luck, I spoke to MIL last night. I am determined to try to put the awkwardness that has arisen from me getting right narked and shouting at her in the past behind me, and try to rebuild our relationship! So I have asked that when they come to visit in April as well as having a day out with me & Jamlet, will she come shopping with me for a couple of hours (with no Jamlet) to help me choose some things for the garden.

Riapwhatyousow · 16/03/2010 16:17

very good luck Jammy

Am back from seeing DH. It was very strange. Have managed to establish that he would like to come back if I want him back for the right reasons, so we have to try and work through things and aim for that. How the hell we do that though I have no idea. Don't quite see how we can deal with issues relating to us living together when we aren't. He has put no time scale on it (which I find quite frustrating really, surely he must have an idea of when he'll feel ready?) He is seeing the GP about depression too. Don't get me wrong, I am not weakening and accpeting all the blame or anything, but I am not willing to let 14 years go without a fight to save it, and if he wants the same thing then maybe we have a chance? It is still very confusing, and having to justify it to my DM will be difficult too, even though she and DF have said it's my life!

That said, I'll probably still be a bit ranty

Riapwhatyousow · 16/03/2010 16:19

oops sorry, where are you going Norty? No holidays for me yet as DM&DF haven't started to open up their caravan yet. I hope they go soon though as I think they need a break from being here.
