Oi! Over 'ere!

I'm using my sick leave well and have just booked a holiday in Oban - we're going to see Balamory and sea eagles, hopefully.

Helooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! how lovely to have been missed (it's Cat btw)
I've just been so busy with Spook and Kiera, that i have neglected you, sorry!
Right first things first:
I went to the ENORMOUS london meet up, loved it but hardley knew anyone! I bought the most gorgeous shoes in the world ever (see member profiles, serendippitys dancing shoes for pic!)

Kiera ia so unbelivably vocal it's scary she can say "spook", "cat", "doggy", "yes" "no", "goodbye", "hello", "kiera", "ABC", "13", "moo", "quack", "duck", "mummy", "daddy", "why"...... and loads more! so many things it's fab
Her eating has finaly improved. We're waiting to see the paeditrician in January, but she has gained weight and is eating, though not normaly, brilliantly for her.
She's still tiny and very cute, running now as well.
Sleeping is still brilliant, i can't remember the last time she woke up at night.

Spook is growing at an enormous rate and is wonderful.

DF and I are both fine, i'm off the Ad's (hurrah!) and generaly feel much more like my old self.

Egypt- i know i've missed out chats too! How are you? I've lost my mobile and have no new one yet so you can't text i'm afraid but do call if you'd like for a chat! You're little girl will be home soon

Kbaby- Congratulations! brilliant news

Ponka- i always get jelous when i hear about someones scan, though still convinced dd will be an only child!

And finaly Susi- Can't believe i haven't said huuuge congrats to you!!!!! i actualy do occasionaly poke my nose on to the October Post natel thread to see how you're getting on, you sound like you're coping fantasticaly and you're little girl sounds beautiful

Right i promise i will come back and say hi again later! Must run, Kiera and Spook are competing for the "who can eat the most stuff that is likely to poisen them" award 2005.

xxxxxxx

kbaby · 28/11/2005 20:08

cat it was good to hear from you. Your thread sounds so happy and lively. Im glad your feeling better and Kiera is finally eating.

I had the scan today but they couldnt tell much. Had to have a internal scan and they said that its too small to find a heartbeat so either my dates are wrong or it has stopped growing. Im to be rescanned in 2 weeks. I know that I ovulated a lot later then normal this month which if I worked off that date I would only be 5+3, so im trying to stay positive.

Snowindippity · 28/11/2005 20:37

Sweetie how scary for you Yes pleeeease try and stay positive and frightening as it is, i'm sure it will all be fine.
Big positive thoughts and vibes coming your way. Stay strong we're all here for you.

helsy · 28/11/2005 20:41

Kbaby I hope it's all ok - early scans aren't always that useful, are they?

Sounds like everyone is busy, "saw" Libb around here somewhere, good to hear you're settled Libb!

We're taking dd2 to the Dr tomorrow. I noticed her feet hadn't grown in three months, then realised she's still fitting in 9 - 12 months clothes so we attempted to measure her on Saturday and it looks like she's off the bottom of the height scale in the red book for her age. Proportionately she seems fine and is developing really well in terms of movement, eating, words and so on - she has at least 40 fairly clear words (mummy boast) - so apart from lack of height (looks like she's about 73cm) and crying herself to sleep - it stopped for a short time but has started up again - she seems ok. Just want to check that she's going to be petite rather than having a problem of some kind.
She's been pointing at the snow and saying "no" all evening!

Cat, I'm very impressed you went to the meet-up and even more impressed with the shoes!

Went Christmas shopping with Dh in Chester today -rare day off together - but we were scuppered by the snow and had to come home at 2.30 after phone calls from nursery AND school saying they were closing early!
I can't wait for Christmas. It starts on Thursday in our house.

kbaby sorry to hear about your worries - hope you have positive news soon. Cat great to hear from you and glad things are sounding so positive for you. Helsy TBH I have only just put DD's 9-12 month clothes away although some of them were getting a bit small and she has been wearing 12-18 during the summer (was bought loads for her birthday) but then when it got cold she reverted to wearing last winter's clothes. And I mainly put them away because somebody gave me 3 bin bags full of 12-18 stuff. She is a shoe size 5 now though which I think is fairly average for the age and I think her height is OK compared to the others at nursery. She is definitely much lighter than DS was at this age and less than 2 lb heavier than her 9mo cousin. Can you see me finding something to worry about? Are you/DH/DD1 smallish Helsy?

DD has started getting more stroppy and expecting me to carry her round everywhere. We were in B&Q today and she kept wanting me to carry her then being silly and leaning over backwards and I was struggling to hold her all wrapped up in her big coat etc. So we had our first paddy on the aisle of a shop and she cried all the way home (10 mins) but has been lovely and bright ever since.

kbaby · 29/11/2005 20:26

Thanks everyone.
Helsey DD has only just grown out of her 9-12 month clothes and 18 -24 months are way too big for her. Your DD will probably take a growth spurt soon and shoot up.

DD has a new word. It took me a while to work it out but its 'MUNTA' which seems to means Santa. Fancy calling Santa Munta. Munta sounds horrible.

helsy · 29/11/2005 21:45

Sorry, feel really silly for worrying about something so pathetic when you must be really anxious Kbaby. I do hope all is fine. I was told when I had an early scan that you can't always get a heartbeat.

Anyway, dd is taller than we thought, 9th percentile and her weight is fine too so nothing to worry about . She's lovely!

OP posts:
Bozza · 30/11/2005 09:28

Still keep meaning to check DD. Although I have to say that clothes are really bad for fitting the right size. Anyway glad you are no longer worried helsy.

I like Munta, I think that is quite a good one. DD says "wah wah" for face cloth. Eh? How did she get that one. We think its somehow related to wipe. She's forever wanting her hands wiping. Also she says "what's that" - well obviously not quite like that but points and asks all the time. So DS has finally got out of the why stage and DD has started with whats that.

spots · 01/12/2005 13:55

at the chatty babies. DD was makingme laugh yesterday because we have two doors to our kitchen joined by a corridor and she has just workded out the round-and-round thing. We knew when we moved here that it would be a child magnet. She was going out one door saying 'See later!' and then reappearing at the other one saying 'A'm Back!' beaming and beaming.

But she is really under the weather and sleepy. Went to sleep on my shoulder at 6 yesterday befor e having any tea, and with all her clothes on... and that was her for the night. Chicken pox is doing the rounds. Am expecting a dose with her name on it.

Kbaby, how unlucky to have such a scare so early; hope it all turns out ok for you.

Cat, lovely to hear from you. That's great about Keira's eating. Have been thinking about you.

deckthehelswithboughsofhelsy · 01/12/2005 21:01

I've changed my name - like it?

Dd2 is fab at the moment, lots of talking and playfulness - food is going well too, she's still crying herself to sleep but tonight it lasted about 2 minutes. Hope everyone is ok and looking forward to Christmas - I love it! I'm trying hard not to buy any more Christmas presents for dd2. She says "santa"!

Ponka · 01/12/2005 23:09

Hi everyone. Nice to hear from people who haven't been around for a while (sorry, I know I'm not one to talk. I'm getting very slack in my posting!).

Kbaby, sorry to hear about your troubles. Look after yourself and I hope everything is O.K.

We're all o.k. DS has a cold at the moment so he's waking a bit at night. He's getting a real little personality. He's a serious busy body. He always has to know what's going on and as soon as there is any noise outside, he's asking to be picked up at the window for a good old nose!

We've just bought him his Christmas present this week. We've gone for a toy kitchen because he's really into the one at nursery. I'm so looking forward to Christmas this year. Yikes, what have I done, though? I've said we'll have it here with my parents and brother, the inlaws and maybe BIL and his girlfriend, too! I'm looking forward to it but it's a bit daunting. Shame Georgina's not around much for some great cooking tips

Good xmas names Helsy and Cat. Can anyone think of one for me? There's not much you can do with Ponka, is there?

izzybiz · 02/12/2005 14:38

hello, have just found out about these clubs, and thought id join in! myDD is Isabelle, she was born 14-05-04. i notice that youve been talking about their size. well Isabelle is on the small side, she is in 12-18month clothes and some are still 9-12! her feet are a 4,she has never really eaten much though, but she is doing everything as she should be. shes a bit of a little minx actually! a questionare in the baby whisperer toddler book, called her a "spirited child"! another name for monster?

spots · 02/12/2005 18:51

Ponka, c'mon now! you have all the Santa ones at your disposal surely? A simple PonkaClaus for minimalist but devastating impact; WhenPonkaGotStuckUptheChimney if you really want to cram the namebar full...

I am yet to think of anything for myself of course.

Welcome Izzybiz!

kbaby · 02/12/2005 19:29

how about 'whileshepardswatched theirspotsatnight'
Thanks for the support everyone and welcome izzybiz.

DD has been full up with a cold all week and last night cried from 12am until 3.30am arghh.. Shes a monkey though each time we went in to check she was ok she said 'oh golly, morning'
Today she seems a bit better but clingy.

Last night I went for a meal with mums from my antenatal group, out of 10 mums 5 are pregnant again. I felt a bit sorry for myself being surrounded by all those bumps. But hey ho, life goes on and never know I may get a nice surprise at the next scan.

Bozza · 02/12/2005 21:37

Oh kbaby that must be hard and the waiting so difficult.

Hi izzybiz. Your DD is just 1 day older than mine.

Glad you are all getting Christmassy. We went to the Christmas Fair at DS's school tonight. DD refused to go anywhere near Santa so I was glad I hadn't bought her a ticket.

Rather excitingly DH and I are off out for a meal tomorrow night and the DCs are going to my Mum and Dad's.

Am very happy now Spots! Ta.

Welcome Izzybiz. I have done that test and come out with Spirited, too. For DS, I mean! Do you just have the one?

Have a nice meal, Bozza. How lovely for you.

Kbaby, hope time goes quickly until your next scan. Please keep us informed. x

izzybiz · 03/12/2005 19:50

i also have DD who will be 13 this month, 2 days after x-mas! DD is definately spirited but such good fun! if not a little tiring,

izzybiz · 03/12/2005 19:51

sorry, have DS of 13 not DD!

Bozza · 04/12/2005 20:42

Well I've come on here because I am too tired to do anything else after my late night. We had a good time though. Actually I was talking to DH and we said that we enjoyed this morning as much as last night. Although I am pathologically unable to sleep past 7.30 it was nice just to lay in bed awake and then read my book for a bit without having the hungry caterpillar rammed in front of it. Then when I got up my friend's DH (or my DH's friend - depends how you want to put it) had a bacon buttie waiting for me and we watched the dancing from last night and actually chatted without having to entertain the children. So I had quite a spoilt morning.

SusiS · 05/12/2005 13:57

gey girls!
kbaby i hope the time flies for you till the next scan! a friend of mine had exactly the same, they couldn't find a heartbeat and the early scan didn't show anything either. 2 weeks later everthing was fine and she was just much earlier than expected!!! you'll see - you'll be fine

woheyy cat, you sound so happy atm! great!!!
good to hear that spooks behaves for you and how lovely that kieras eating has improved!! well done you - guess i better watch my back now since i am being spied on

bozza at your meal out!! but nice to hear that you had a great time!

spots at your 'roundaround dd'

well, ds is just so funny lately. he talks lots and lots. mostly german but his english is getting better by the day. and he too asks all day 'what's this? what's this?' - we even have the 2 word 'sentences' now! omg, soon he'll be leaving the house

sizewise he's still the same ponker! clothes 2yrs, shoes 6

dd is getting really cute now. she's started to smile and even laughs out loud which is very funny! she seems very content and cries only if she's hungry, tired or wet. and at nights she manages about 7 hours!

but i have to admit it's quite exhausting sometimes. also not AS difficult as expected.
i even manage to do a baby massage course with caitlin; while lucas is with a cm for those hours. - but i am glad that tomorrow is the last session; it is quite tiring!

is the seperation anxiety kicking in now???? ds is soooooo clingy. 'mummy mummy mummy' all day long. it will get better, right???

nothing xmassy in our house (yet) - we finally sold our old house and just waiting that the money gets into our account then i'll get my hands dirty and start spending it

SusiS · 05/12/2005 13:58

gey girls????????

Hey Hey Hey girls

spots · 05/12/2005 14:18

ooh yes susi DD is terrible for mummy fever atm. Sge had atantrum this morning because it was dh not me who went to get her up. She's always been a bit like that tho, which is my main concern for when no.2 comes along. Glad all's going well with Caitlin, and I'm not surprised it's hard work sometimes!

Bozza, ooooooh! That just sounds like bliss. Am asking for a whole 12 hours off for Xmas I think.

No chicken pox, but something's wrong with her, unless she's just gearing up for being a terrible 2. Lots of huffs, and very sleepy. We wishfully inspect her for spots every bathtime.

spots · 05/12/2005 14:25

That was the 500th post on this thread by the way. Can I win a car?
