Ok so a pretty boring thread title but thought we needed some distance from the last one!

FT - lol at Alex finger snapping for food - is that from baby signing ? Loving all his cute things - he is so adorable.

Inzi- so glad Jane enjoyed her day at her grandparents - at least you know she is happy to be left. Did you manage to get a doctor's appointment?

Dal - hope Dylan's cough is better soon. Hope you don't go 2 weeks over either - how exhausting!

BBlue - impressed at Sofia's escaping skills - good it was just her at the bathroom door though!

Bought a load of stuff from Ikea today, continuing the reorganising the house theme - mainly shelves and storage (like I don't have enough already!) - although I think they're going to be sat in the hall for a while until I pluck up the courage to tackle putting them up/together on my own! Ah well, nothing ventured, etc - I can see me learning lots of new skills quite quickly!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 08/03/2010 21:55

Oh and here's a political argument for you - I've just received my tax credit letter giving me the amount I'm going to get as a single parent instead of the joint claim we had before - it's roughly 7 times what it was before ! Something's wrong with the system surely (not complaining though of course!)

Dalrymps · 09/03/2010 07:50

Morning ladies,

BabyBlue - Wow at Sofia's mission to find you! Dylan has pushed the door open when I've been in the shower before and it scared the living daylights out of me, that's when I knew he was upstairs with me too! You must have jumped a mile!

WWAJC - Sounds like you're getting well organised . We so need more storage. Wouldn#t worry too much about assembling the Ikea stuff, I've assembled a wadrobe from there and bedside cabinets and a few other bits I can't quite remember right now, wasn't too bad as I remember

at the increase in your tax credits, thats great for you, big difference though!

Dalrymps · 09/03/2010 07:52

Oops, posted before I actually finished..

Dylan coughed less last night, his cough still sounds as bad but seems to beb happening less often. He showed some interest in tea last night and is nibbling a bit of breakfast now so think he's starting to get over it

No baby signs here, getting the smae old periody cramps every day but nothing else, patience patience I guess!

Hi to all, am thinking of you x

FloriaTosca · 09/03/2010 11:03

Just checking in to see if you had started yet Dal...but the answer is no, I see...good luck honey if I don't get on here before Miles arrives (Glad to hear Dylan is improving a bit...that will set your mind at rest and let you relax)

Please forgive me if I'm not around tomorrow or the next few days...I'm taking Mum out tomorrow, we neither of us need to be alone on the 3rd anniversary of losing my Dad (I don't think I'm ever going to get over it)(I remembered last night that it was exactly 3 years since my last conversation with him before he slipped into a coma and I cried myself to sleep...I sooo wish Dh wan't working in Portugal atm)..Thursday is Crufts so I'll be out from the early hours and not back until late...Friday is our 6th Wedding anniversary and I'm planning a romantic dinner ... Saturday is early Mothersday as I'm out on Sunday meeting Mners from my

NeedCoffee · 09/03/2010 20:44

Ooh not much chance of catching up properly.

BB- @ Sofia getting through the gate and u stairs. @ stripping and climbing in!

WWAJC-No rush to put them up, you can do what you like now

Dal-Maybe period pains are your body getting ready and you'll be nearly fully dilated before you even realise you're in labour Rest as much as pos, glad Dylen feeling better.

FT- for you. Glad you are spending time with your mum, sounds like you give each other a lot of comfort, and I bet Alex makes you both smile, even through the shittiest times. at him being cheeky and getting Daddy to shift out the chair.

Inzi-Well done you for letting Jane go to your parents. Awww at Janes room

Eva-Hows the throat? Glad (D)H is helping out and stuff, hopefully it will only get better and stay better

Re Shannon sleeping-or not, as the case may be. No idea what is going on with her, she's complained of a sore bottom a couple of times so been giving her lot's to drink in the day but she already drank plenty so think she's just making herself sore by itching as she doesn't usually wipe herself when going on the potty-I do if I take her to the toilet but she just 'drip dries' if we're at home and she does it herself, so been trying to keep her clean but not irritate it iyswim.
The other thing is-her imagination is crazy atm. She was up at 5.30 singing twickle twinkle and then when DD1 asked her who had emptied her drawers she told her that Dora, Benny, Boots, Isa and Tico had slept in her bed last night and where noisy so she had to get up early and then they'd emptied her drawers! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't heard it myself. She's been a mini whirlwind since then till bedtime, luckily I was at college so wasn't too overwhelmed by her today!

OMG at my attrocious spelling last night, sorry! Dal-Sorry for spelling Dylan wrong too

Inzi-Rich is going to Aberdeen for the weekend to see his mate and newborn baby, even though I was very explicit that I am not happy about it, any other week then fine, but why does it have to be this weekend. I know he's not my mother but he could at least let me have a lie in. So...I think I'm taking the girls to see his mum and it depends if my mum is working but will be trying to get to see her too. So sorry about the carpal tunnel, I had it with Shannon, not until a bit later though and it is so deliberating, I hope the splint works. That is a reason what puts me off having another, mw said it comes on faster with each subsequent pregnancy.

LisaLessLumpy · 10/03/2010 10:11

Thinking of you today FT - I know how hard it is for you xx

Dal - I hope Dylan is sleeping better again soon, so that Miles can make his arrival

Inzi - Hope the splint works for you arm, what a pain on top of everything else!

WWAJC - Glad to hear you are getting your new life sorted

BB4 - Lol at Sofias antics

Well I'm not holding out any hope for anything for Mothers Day, DH never seems to think about it and I am not prompting him. I didn't even get a card for my birthday off my boys On the other hand DH did spoil me rotten

Is anyone else having clinginess probs with their lo's, Ben has been quite bad the past two weeks and has also started to become quite stroppy. Had to carry out a threat this morning which is very unusual. Looks like the terrible twos have started to appear

NeedCoffee · 10/03/2010 10:35

Grrr I meant I know I'm not his mother..etc
Lisa-Shannon isn't clingy with me very often, in fact she loves everyone apart from me atm!

FT - I know you won't get this until after the weekend, but thinking of you over these few days. Take care of yourself.

Dal - Good that Dylan is getting over his cough. I'm ok at assembling Ikea furniture, it's the drilling holes in the wall for shelves etc that I'm not so keen on. I've got my dad to come round at the weekend to supervise!

NC - wow at Shannon's imagination, she's going to have imaginary friends soon! Shame you won't get a lie in on Sunday - hope you have a nice day anyway.

Inzi - tell your dh that it's my child tax credit that's really shot up and you don't need to work to claim that! TBH the increase in my tax credits probably matches the increase in the extra I'm having to pay out for stuff that h used to pay for, so not actually better off - but not worse off like I thought I'd be. But I can see how scroungers people living on benefits would want to stay as single parents rather than live together. And no, you weren't insenstive or trivialising - I read it exactly how you meant it!

Glad the doctor sorted your arm/hand out - hope the splint works but at least it's only a local to get anything more drastic done.

Mothers day - don't think I'll be doing anything much - my mum's always said it's commercial rubbish so it's not something we ever celebrated before I had Anya. I'm quite happy to indulge myself, but probably not this year, having nobody to treat me.

Good luck with the potty training!

Lisa - yes Anya's being a bit clingy - I'm pretty sure it's not connected to the split because she's not bothered when we change over and she's not continually asking for h (tonight she was more excited about seeing my dad on Friday than about seeing h tomorrow). But yes, she's quite attention-seeking and does seem to be testing boundaries. ("It's a phase!")

Off to do the ironing now. I'm looking forward to tomorrow - h is having Anya tomorrow while I'm at work and then keeping her for a sleepover. It'll be nice to have an evening off, though I'm sure I'll find loads to do!

babyblue4 · 10/03/2010 21:56

Floria Hope your day has gone as well as can be expected. Those kind of anniversaries are always hard. We always think 'this year will be different', but once the day rolls around, we fall apart same as always.

Inzi How is the splint working out? Do you wear it during the day as well as at night? Hopefully everything will go back to normal once baby is born.

Dal Glad Dylan is feeling better.

WWAJC at the organizing. I have soooo many storage containers in my basement I ought to own shares in the company. Just need to get rid of some junk. We have a street sale evey year, so I usually manage to get rid of quite a bit. I have tonnes of baby stuff that needs to be gone through. Sigh... its on my to-do list... just not sure when I will have the time.

Had a rough day and night. Baby has been clingy and is constantly crying. He was up half the night, and then cried steadily for the better part of this morning. I finally had enough and sat outside on my porch for a good cry. DH came home at that point, and I went for a run to clear my head. I think he is teething, but I am totally shattered. Good thing Sofia has been well behaved, because I am not sure I could manage the two of them without losing my mind completely!

theoldbarn · 11/03/2010 14:54

hi all

muppet here. have decided to have a name change due to needing a bit of a fresh start.

will read posts and catch up later -Floria, have been thinking of you xxx

love to all

NeedCoffee · 11/03/2010 21:30

Hi Ladies, just popping on to wave hi and see if theres been any news from Dal??

Have got an exam tomorrow and not picked a book up yet, so it's a toss up between getting sleep or cramming..

Either way I need to get off here so I hope you all have a nice Friday

babyblue4 · 12/03/2010 19:13

Hello all

Dal - how are things going? Hopefully you are coping well... the end is near!

NC - how did your exam go? Did you sleep or cram?? I remember those Uni days well... and am glad to be past them! How you do it with kids I have no idea!

Managed some good sleep last night as Marco finally gave us some peace. Along with a runny nappy and horrible rash, I noticed the corner of a new tooth today. So hopefully the endlees screaming will be done for now. Sofia used to be the same way. Her bum would get so rashy everytime a tooth would be coming. That was the only time I ever needed the SudoCream.

I actually have both babies down for a nap at the same time... woohooooo!! So this will be a quick post, and then off to do some laundry. DH is home next week on holidays, so I am hoping to get a lot done around the house. Organizing here I come!!

NeedCoffee · 12/03/2010 20:41

Yes come give us an update Dal
BB-Shannon used to get quite bad nappy rash when teething too, it's horrible for them to be sore.
I didn't do either as my washer decided not to spin so I tried to sort it out and ended up with water all over the floor and soaking wet clothes They're coming Wed to look at it.
Exam went okay but stupidly we wasn't allowed to finish it-at the moment we do unit 5 in a morning and unit 6 in the afternoon, the exam was 4.5 hours and we started it at 10 and finished at 12, I asked if we could finish it in the afternoon and my tutor got arsey with me saying that people will need time in between now and next week to revise some of the questions, personally I think that's just like cheating. Having a few issues with my tutor today, which is apparant on FB! We do have quite a lot of banter and I am quite outspoken but sometimes my tutor takes it too far and acts (I think) a little unprofessional. I got really annoyed today and had words with him and he was really shocked and said he didn't mean to act unfailrly towards me, which I don't think he does-just gets carried away, and that I am to pull him up on it if he does it again. Usually I can take it, a bit hormonal today, PMT I think.

I've also got my appointment through for my colcoscopy for Wed too, struggled to get someone to have Shannon so definately wont be able to get anyone to go with me, sil has agreed to come sit at my house with her whilst I go to the appointment in case the washer man comes.

Well that turned into a bit of a rant, sorry.
Am on my own tonight, Shannon went to bed early tired from nursery, she'll probably still be awake in the night again-and DD1 coming home tomorrow night so we'll have a girly night tomorrow, will try to have an early night tonight I think.

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

NeedCoffee · 12/03/2010 21:40

Have any of you looked at the new street view yet? Check out your address, there may be a pic of you!

Dalrymps · 12/03/2010 21:56

Evening ladies,

Not much to update you on, still feeling pretty much the same as I did a week ago!

Just trying to be patient and not get too irratable but it is difficult when I just want to meet the little man!

Saw the midwife yesterday, she said she thinks the baby has turned and was more round to the front with his back down the right hand side, so not back to back, woo hoo! I'm deserately keeping up the positions cause I don't want him to go back to back again. If I still haven't popped by tues I have to go back for monitoring and a membrane sweep...

Sorry not been on much, have been reading but don't spend long on here due to having to sit in odd position!

NC - Sorry you're having a bit of trouble with your tutor, glad you told him how it is though!

Lol at Shannon's imagination

Babyblue - Great you got some sleep and a bonus too with them both napping at the same time!

Floria - Have been thinking of you. Hope the anniversary of your dad went as well as can be expected and that you had a nice wedding anniversary x

Theoldbarn - What inspired your new name?

WWAJC - Did you have a nice evening off?

Inzi - Good luck with the potty training . Hope the splint is helping your arm.

LLL - I hope you do get something for mothers day...

Hopefully the terrible twos aren't on there way and he's just having a bad few days

Well I hope to be able to update you all with good news soon... Off to watch ebarassing bodies (or disgusting bodies as I prefer to call it!)

Hi to anyone i've missed x

babyblue4 · 12/03/2010 22:24

NC are you referring to Google Maps??? They went through here as well. Looks like my house was done in early spring, and no one was home at the time. My neighbours DCs were out, so they blurred their faces. They have also blurred the licence plates on all the cars that are shown. Feel sorry for the poor bloke that got stuck doing that job!! LOL

Dalrymps · 12/03/2010 23:02

Ooh I just looked at that, freaky how clear the pic is of our house! Must have been taken a while ago cause you can see the old sunshade in our car window that broke and isn't there anymore...

EvaLongoria · 12/03/2010 23:58

Hi All

babyblue LOL at Sophia. Its amazing how quickly they figure things out. Hope that the baby is all right now after rash and new tooth and well done for getting them both to sleep. I am amazed at some moms that have more than one. i cant seem to cope with one on my own.

WWAJC Glad things are going okay...
I have also been buying storage for Aaliyah but mostly the Dora range. I love it and no tools needed. But have bought computer desk and need new chest of drawers. I did buy an electrical screw driver in Argos 2 weeks ago makes the job so much easier.
Yes Tax credits should work out more. I am a bit worried when DH move back in how it will affect what I have been getting for childcare and college to do this degree. Will deal with it if and when he moves back in

Floria definitely busy few days coming up. Hope all goes well and thinking of you. And it will get slightly better but it is good to remember our loved ones.

NC at Shannon.... Little actress or script writer at least and all that studying would be for nothing because she will look after you.

Inzi hope you heal soon and hope the splint work. Its amazing what us women go through. No wonder we are so strong

NC saw your status hope all is sorted. My tutor and lecturers arent too bad. Some bore me and I struggle to stay awake and some are quite passionate about the subject. Our Math tutor did however email us on Thursday to say that he brought the exam forward from 05th July to 26th April. And we are not too happy so he will get a not so happy me on Monday.
Oh and we saw Street View. i still think its quite cool but so creepy at the same time. I think our was done last spring as well because the car infront wasnt DH or a friends but also not our landlady's so we are still trying to figure that one out.

EvaLongoria · 13/03/2010 00:05

My little monster made me cry tonight. She went to bed and then called me repeatedly after a while. Went in and she wanted to whisper in my ear. I have been trying to teach her for ages to whisper and she just didnt get it. BUt tonight she made me turn my face and wanted to whisper. She kept on saying something and it took me a while to understand what she wanted. It turned out she wanted a BIGGG KISSSS, I then gave her a big kiss and then she wanted a big hug. She then said "Mummy loves Aaliyah!" and I said always. She turned and said "Okay Mummy, thank you, night night"

Its the way she says it. Her words have only recently been spilling out and suddenly she makes these long sentences. This morning she told me that my Au Pair's Boyfriend sat on the au pair's bed and carried her bags down the stairs and took her laptop. I then checked her room and Au Pair packed every single thing in her room. She decided because I am going to South Africa she might as well move in with him. So dont know whether she will be here to help me with childcare on Monday. Oh well that's life at the moment.
