I still don't get bikini waxing, it's up there with balancing one's chequebook . Or are they just metaphors for something that makes more sense?

My big two have been delightful today. They came home and got into fancy dress costumes (DD a witch, DS1 a pumpkin), played together and spent a good half hour lying in DS1's bed talking up a whole world of 'Wolves and Bats' (which apparently they had become.) V good to hear DS1 can not only get lost in his imagination but also to link up with someone else's is quite a feat for anyone with his condition. This is all right up DD's street of course so she seems quite pleased to have someone to play with her way now.

My cold achey hands are back with a vengeance. After taking an accidental break from my migraine meds over Xmas I have realised it is a side effect so I never did go see a rheumatologist. Hoping it will improve come spring.

Morning Ladies

Did I see miss Steaky and a date??

We are off to thebush today and I am so excited to get out of the city, we are off after brekker and will be internet, laptop, and mobile signal free for 3 dayish. I will get DH to myself and not have to share him with the office who seem ot be e-mailing and texting constantly to find things out.

Have a wonderful week and will be back soonish.........spiders willing

hotterpotter · 27/01/2010 20:46

Me either Buckets, mine gets an occasional squirt of hair remover cream when it gets halfway to my knees otherwise I just let it grow free I can barely keep control of my leg hair at the moment never mind any other kind...

Have found a lovely house here apart from the fact its garden is too small, there is no garage / workshop for DH, insufficient bedrooms for hypothetical DC3 and it's too expensive, it is perfect I have even worked out the journey to the local station to get me to work, found the local school and seen where the pubs are

hotterpotter · 27/01/2010 20:53

Oops good luck with the wildlife

Buckets that sounds so lovely with your bigger two playing together you are doing such a good job with DS1, he sounds like he is coming on so well

Dizzy yay for the cafe

GladioliBuckets · 27/01/2010 20:58

Ooh. Shame the plumbing's at the other end, that pantry would otherwise have made a handy loo. I have to say having 2 loos in the house with 3 kids is probably worth paying for in the longrun. Even though our kids are a bit scared of our downstairs one and never use it, at least it means DH is banned from stinking out the bathroom.

RedLentil · 27/01/2010 21:57

Hello all.

I've feck all chance of catching up properly. I've been reading but have had a time of it doing massive amounts of admin for the playgroup I'm chairing, and the bit of DH's English job that still remains. Oh and minding 3 children.

That sounds like a fab game Buckets and your ds1 is making fabulous progress. How is dd getting on with her anxiety issues at the moment? I absolutely loved your description of your date with your dh ...

Cyteen, your boy sounds so lovely. Fab to hear too that Miamla's scan went well and that Dizzy has signed the lease.

TS - very glad to hear that you escaped without too much pain, and what a woman you are driving to the emergency room in a sports car.

I now need to add a will to my list of incomplete tasks.

DD1 is being a bit of a pickle at the moment. Enough to say that dd2 has learnt to shout 'Mae. Here. Now.' She had a lot of trouble with some unco-operative and indeed invisible peacocks at about 4:30. She was trying to haul them into the playroom but they were having none of it.

We had a lovely bath together though at bedtime and she polished my knees.

Shipley would be lovely, Hots. A friend of mine was the mp there for a while (off to google what he is up to now ...) and dh and I had a date there very early on in our courtship (the rest of which was conducted using daysaver tickets from Leeds to Hebden Bridge. Happy days .

Can you use that site that tells you what prices sold properties have gone for to work out what your budget will get in reality?

We set our hearts on moving to our village, and spent six months convinced it wouldn't work out only to discover this totally undesirable to anyone with sense house and snap it up. Ripping it up slowly and reconstructing it is good fun (though windows that, you know, kept the wind out would be handy in the current weather).

Sympathy on the hands Buckets. Mine are rubbish in the winter and it is frustrating.

Oops, have a wonderful time. Random crying in pregnancy is a basic human right.

Loti, hard to miss you in that yellow ensemble

Steaky, fab progress on the world domination project.

Waves to No1 who must be out there.

And good news on a warm house Queenie.

Waves to VG, Poppy, Pert and co. too.

RedLentil · 27/01/2010 22:01

The date was to the Hockney place in Saltaire ...

Hey Sazzles.

Did you have a lovely time on your night out?

hotterpotter · 27/01/2010 22:12

Red that is just down the road from my new home pipe dream

Sazz ooh new job, good luck! You couldn't look for one for me at the same time could you? Key skills include surreptitious internet use

Buckets I agree two loos would be brilliant, especially to have one downstairs to nip to from the garden

RedLentil · 27/01/2010 22:42

Hots, this one is fantastic inside and in the same postcode ... No work needed and the price could be finessed a bit.

The other option is one like this which is structurally pretty much there but needs a thorough modernising job.

This one seems very over-priced given that it has the potential to look like the first one ...

Agh, i am turning into dh.

RedLentil · 27/01/2010 22:44

Though you should move here as it is ten minutes walk away and my friend is letting it ...

We have broadband you know.

RedLentil · 27/01/2010 22:46

I meant here ]

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 27/01/2010 22:51

do you like my burns night name?

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 27/01/2010 22:52

or am I a bit late?

hotterpotter · 27/01/2010 22:54

I really liked this one until I realised you can't get the train from Baildon direct to Leeds so need to be within about 0.75 miles from Shipley or Saltaire stations. Grass too please

hotterpotter · 27/01/2010 22:57

Oh goodness Red that is beautiful. Come on you fecking lotto numbers...

lwfh yes you are a bit late but good name anyway

I was supposed to be early to bed after last night and look at me with tomorrow's lunch still to make . Better go, night all

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 27/01/2010 22:59

springaporesling I would love to give any advice witter on at great length about Argentina, do get in touch by facebook if this is helpful for your DB.

Do I accept some work for 8 weeks starting at the beginning of April? about 15 hours a week. Flexible hours. OK pay (not great, but OK). Fairly interesting.

We don't need the money, but it would be nice. I quite like the work apart from the weekly marking and feedback.

It would fit in almost completely while the babies sleep. The only thing that is making me think no is that I don't like the marking. Hmmm. So, not actually stressed about working again while DD is so small.

Hotter - oh how exciting, you are going to live in a lovely house in a nice part of yorkshire. ooooh .... LWFH goes on a similar fantasy house buying trip

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 27/01/2010 23:00

what are your criteria for the house? Nice house and garden and commutable to Leeds City Centre?

springaporesling · 28/01/2010 02:53

LWFH thanks for the offer I'll definitely be over on FB later as can't send messages from work. DB is the one with his cap and gown on with Haile Gabreselassie (sp???) - he's in further education too (DB that is not Haile).

I say go for it on the work front - given that it's very flexible and potentially reasonably enjoyable. Always nice to have some extra money to spend on something for you

Red that house is gorgeous. Just makes me realise how ridiculous rent is here!

Dizzy great news on the cafe

Sazz will this be a change of direction?

I was liking the references to bikini waxing then Oops heading into the bush

The old gal's in fine shape VG.

She's putting on a school production of Marina Carr's Bog of Cats today, so high excitement.

steaknife · 28/01/2010 08:34

Banana muffins for breakfast.

Another vat of tea on the brew.

Morning! Some midnight yodelling here (well 2.30 am yodelling) I think definately the temperature. I had the thermostat down at 15 last night. She has been sleeping through when it was on 16/17 so back up tonight.

I'll worry about the expense another day.

GladioliBuckets · 28/01/2010 09:25

LOL Red I too had a good search on Rightmove for other houses for Hots. Loads of them in excellent nick inside but not so much extension potential. Then there's always loft conversions I guess...

Does having sex 3 times in a fortnight count as twice a week? DH is convinced we have now achieved this hallowed state and has announced we must try and keep it up (fnar fnar). We shall see...

But my main question of the day is... WHERE HAVE ALL THE F&%£ing HAIRBRUSHES GONE???
