FPG crown please, DS1 announced his home-made Mr Incredible suit as the best in the whole of Year R (according to him). Surprisingly beating a v impressive shop-bought one we saw on the way.

Thanks LOTI.

TwilightSurfer · 25/01/2010 17:10

i feel stupid because i've no clue, at least i think i have no clue, what "burns" is. translation please.

GladioliBuckets · 25/01/2010 18:30

Oh that's what they are! Burns as in Burns Night - neeps and tatties and haggis and all that. Peak time tourism for Scotland but the English do like to lig on to other people's festivals.

LittleNutTree · 25/01/2010 18:30

Yay, just got finished early since my last mindee of the day was picked up sharpish. Now wrestling with my own little monkey who won't eat her tea . She just keeps shouting 'out mummy' 'stuck' and 'yogurt' on a loop!

VG! pmsl at LNJ which is actually a more correct observation on me. I think it was you who rechristened me to HazieDazieandBaby from my original name! think i'll stick with LNJ for now, but yr all free to use LNJ if u like! I answer to most things anyway!

Congratulations on the wedding plans cyteen! how far along are u with yr plans? I had a fishtail dress for my wedding (was looking at Buckets suggestions) and loved it, would totally recommend it! Had loads of lovely comments, even 2yrs down the line, so not just people being nice on the day! Have pics on Facebook if u fancy a nosey.

TS Burns' Night is a celebration in Scotland of the birth of one of our most famous poets, Robert Burns. Celebrations include eating haggis, neeps and tatties, reciting his poetry and having a good dance around at a ceilidh! I hate haggis, am rubbish at reading out loud and can't dance, so it's a quiet one for me tonight!

Looking forward to hearing that all's well with miamla and mini-miamla/s!

Congratulations to lwfh and oops on yr fantastic news too! There are some quick workers around here!

God, I hope I don't get killed for this by cm community, but if I was u buckets I would snap up the arrangement! If I could avoid jumping through all Care Commission hoops then I would. I'm just too much of a scaredy cat! I would be careful who know about it though, just like loti said. Did u see that thing around October about the two policewomen caring for each other's children? Someone reported them and they were banned from ever doing it again! (Hazie runs off to join loti in the corner)

LittleNutTree · 25/01/2010 18:35

So sorry about massive post! Typing on my iPhone which has a tiny screen so only shows a small amount of what u've written.

Off to try and wake Gabriella who's fallen asleep watching In the Night Garden. Tiredness was obviously why she was wrestling with her tea. Argh! She'll never sleep 2nite now!!

alittlebitshy · 25/01/2010 19:01

New frommiamla

thanks for your text this morning...its good news!!
we had to wait ages but, Pea's all good! measuring slightly under the 9 weeks we think she/he is but sonographer said its because she/he looks quite scrunched up. Shortly after she'd said that, Pea had a little wriggly dance and stretched out a bit!
Pain I was getting in my stomach that was worrying me is a cyst on one of my ovaries. Nowt they can do about it, warned me it would probably cause more pain but at least I know now that its nothing to worry about. She also found the bit that was bleeding and she said it looks like its stopped now so hopefully no more bleeding. Sonographer cancelled 12wk scan but Sister on EPU said that we should have it, if only for our own peace of mind. She couldn't believe we had to wait from 8wks to 20wks with Theodore.
So, in summary, Pea's absolutely fine and we get to see her/him again in a few weeks!

Oh good news Miamla, although sorry your lhst of other health stuff has got longer.

Anyone fancy starting up their own business? Check out place! Perhaps one could set up a chair in a van and do a mobile service. Although maybe people wouldn't want it parked outside their house.

Miamla · 25/01/2010 20:43

evening all, thanks for your lovely messages.
and thanks for passing my message on albs

oh well done sazz, i'd forgotten about hazie dazie and her nappy crazy!

the cyst is staying where it is until Pea makes his/her appearance. my bet's for DD1, i feel so completely different than at this stage with DS. i'm now a fish eating vegetarian. i can't even stand the smell of meat cooking, let alone face eating it!

oh yes and forgot to say 'happy new home ann'

hotterpotter · 25/01/2010 21:43

Yay Miamla that is such great news , so what due date have they given you? Sometime around the end of August? Ooh how exciting As for a homebirth, I would seriously recommend it with all my heart, the births of both my DC were amazing but DS' was in a different league of fantastic

Hi Sazzles, at the 400 nappies! They're all done and thanks to the childminding, would probably go inside a week now! How things are goood with u and that yr little ones give u a good night's sleep.

I didn't mean to advocate non-registered childminding in general, just that it was a pain to go through all the registration process just to look after a good friend's little one, who might gave been round our house most days anyway, had my friend not gone back to work! The upside of registering means that I can offer my services to other families and make the most of the crazy lack of childcare in our area! Yay!

VG, will your prospective cm look after ds2 in your house or her own? I do it from my house so can give you my side of it if it's any help. I have an info pack that I give out, with details of my training, policies and procedures, certificates and, as you mentioned, insurance, which is a major benefit to being registered. I also show the parents risk assessments that I've done, and point out the childproofing I've done (where relevant). Aside from that, I keep my own diary as well as a daily diary for little ones, where I write in what they've eaten, when they were changed, when they slept, what we did during their stay and other relevant info. I've got pics up of the mindees doing activities so that parents can see what we've been up to. I'm also planning to start up a monthly planner to give to parents so that they can see the activities coming up. Is that the kind of thing you were looking for? Feel free to ask away about anything I might have missed!

miamla that's brilliant news about pea! Countdown is on to the next scan then!

hotterpotter · 25/01/2010 22:04

Phew, I thought I knew you better than that

Also LOLing at the memory of NutJob's job lot of nappies

Oh and welcome back Queenie we missed you, hope you're settling in OK. Did you move any nearer to DP's work?

Miamla · 25/01/2010 22:11

hots still kept it at 29th Aug but that may change after the 12wk

woah...this is all starting to feel a whole lot more real!!!

sorry girls, would love to stay and chat but i'm shattered and need to sort out my stuff for work tomorrow

night all

Miamla · 25/01/2010 22:12

oh and yes hots congrats on the risky time of the month sex!

LittleNutTree · 25/01/2010 22:21

Thanks guys for all LOLing at my nappy buying! Did I ever mention dd was my first and I had no idea that you could get to Tesco with a baby? Little did I know that I would even spend most days there to escape the house!

hotterpotter have you namechanged in the past, don't seem to recognize your current name?

Just realized queenofdreams is the artist formerly known as Annvann! Hi there!

cyteen · 25/01/2010 22:23

Oh Miamla YAY at good scan news You all are making me broody, I should be cross! but obviously am not

Am rather shattered after a morning at stay+play and then an afternoon hosting two (then three) toddlers for a playdate. DS was dead on his feet, bless him - he sat on my lap for a full half hour of Night Garden before bed (watched via iPlayer because our cocking Freeview box won't pick up Cbeebies again, ) Had a lovely time though, my friend's son was a little angel and only cried when Mummy returned!

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 25/01/2010 22:27

Glad your playdate went well cyteen, but for you re freeview box. I don't know how we'd go on without ours

NutJob depending on when you were last here you may not remember me at all. Although I lurked on the threads from the very first BFPs I didn't pluck up the courage to post for a whole year [wimp] but I have since made up for lost time

TwilightSurfer · 25/01/2010 23:04

Good evening.

All that's left of my "mommy duty" today is one dc bath and both dcs to bed. I'm ahead of schedule.

Miamla I agree with your gut feeling that you're baking a DD. Do you have pictures from today to share with the group?

Nut you are quite organized. I like CM like that.

Ann, yes, do share where are you now geographically speaking??

HP I'll be all giggly for you. I think it's lovely lovely lovely news. I admit openly I'd already be knocked up again if we'd not sniped that in the bud. If I'm not broody one minute I'm just plain whorish the next. There's something to be said about older ladies and their desires. LOL!!

On that laughable note, I've found a new show I like. Have any of you watched The Secret Diary of a Call Girl? It's like a British version of Sex in the City, only sexed up a bit more. Season 3 starts in a few days so I' watching Season 2 now. Can't find Season 1 although reviewers said that's the best one.

Buckets you need to go into the business of finding people businesses.

Time for the second bath. Be back later...or tomorrow.
