oopsandbabycoconut · 25/01/2010 07:31

Miamla - just popping on to say am thinking of you and little pea this morning - hope you see as many as you want!!

Hi everyone else - on our way out to BBQ but back later.

hotterpotter · 25/01/2010 08:25

pass some coffee please... DD woke up at 6am and was put back to bed but was up every 15 minutes after that with various spurious excuses - too bright/dark/noisy, oh and once because she was scared. When I asked what she was scared of she looked desperately around before deciding she was scared of her sparkly shoes. Someone tell me I am crazy even contemplating another one...

Hope everyone else is feeling a bit more sparkly

CaptainCaveman · 25/01/2010 08:32

hotpot YOu're doing a fab job if all she is scared of is sparkly shoes .

miamla I look forwards to your exciting scan news later. What time is your scan?

hotterpotter · 25/01/2010 08:39

Sadly not cece, she is scared of all sorts but it is usually slightly more sensible stuff like spiders, big slides etc. It wasn't even actually the shoes she said she was scared of, it was just them being upstairs

How was Jack???

CaptainCaveman · 25/01/2010 08:56

Jack was delicious, and he just gets better with age . I think I have been in love with him for close to 20 years..., since he was in Flatliners

Ds1 is also good at making up random things to be 'scared' of when he is trying to prolong bedtime.

Mum and dad are off to Barbados in about 90 mins , they are currently sat in the departure lounge at Gatwick . I meanwhile have a days annual leave to look after O (mum usually has him on a monday), and have a day of cleaning and tidying to look forwards to . Not quite the same appeal?

hotterpotter · 25/01/2010 09:06

He first came to my attention in The Lost Boys, although I preferred Jason Patric in that Think my sister and I watched it about 50 times...

Barbados Today I will be mostly following DS around and wiping thick streams of bogey off his face. Ewww.

GladioliBuckets · 25/01/2010 09:27

Yoohoo Cyteen.

GladioliBuckets · 25/01/2010 09:31

Marking place as I keep losing it.

Interesting news here - I found the missing Rudolph pastry cutter......

......in the bottom of a pair of DD's tights

Still trying to work out if it went through the wash like that or no.

stupid o'clock here too and as I'm working till 1am tonight I am NOT BEST FECKING PLEASED house still like an ice box but girls packed off to school, playgroup and childminder respectively. DH doing an essay and I'm making stovies (on the laptop )

NutTree - I can infact confirm that the lovely Sazz has visited here twice, one with her DD2 and the second time with her whole Sazzette family we're very much looking forward to returning the chaos visit later this year

over Barbados and Oops' BBQ - tis all I can do to stop myself cuddling the stovie pot

cousins are getting their kids christened on 17th April but flights too expensive at the moment so don't think we'll get to go

right got to go and do something productive and there is a cafe meeting tonight to decide about the lease - I won't be at it either because of work

dizzydixies · 25/01/2010 10:51

god bless the central heating man who has turned up, am trying to do my flexible working application and my nose is freezing and fingers too cold

CaptainCaveman · 25/01/2010 11:19

brrr on your behalf dizzy, I've put the heating on but my poor Raynaud's riddled toes are still deathly white . Tis no wonder I get so many chilblains.

Off to make another cup of tea to try and warm my hands up

dizzydixies · 25/01/2010 11:31

thanks CC, do you think mammy and Daddy Cavey would mind us popping along with them?!?

QueenofDreams · 25/01/2010 11:38

Morning ladies.
Nice to see you all again. I haven't even tried to catch up I'll admit. THis thread just moves to blimming fast
So we are all moved in. I am sitting here surrounded by boxes that need sorting and unpacking [meep] Still, the house is warmer than the old one which is great. THe lock on the front door was dodgy though, and the key broke on tuesday, so S and I were locked out. DP managed to bully the letting agents into getting the thing fixed though, so all good now
S is doing more walking now as well. He walks John Wayne style though which is quite amusing. He has definitely got more teething going on though - horrendous nappies, drool lots of finger chewing etc. He's already popped four molars out in the last two months, looks like he's working on getting more out though.
First night here he was a nightmare, ended up in bed with us at 1am after many wakeups. Second night was ok ish as he was in his cot rather than a travel cot, but still ended up in our bed at 4.30. He's slept through every night since then though
miamla good luck with your scan!

TwilightSurfer · 25/01/2010 12:02

Well at least I got it half right....ALBS does have a DC2. You all know my brain is fuzzy at best most days. But yes, LittleNutTree it is LWFH that recently gave birth to DC2, a girl.

Miamla you know I'm holding my breath in anticipation of your scan news. Excitement is so very hard for me to contain.

I must run. DD1 is not doing as she should in order to get ready for school. SURPRISE! not.

CaptainCaveman · 25/01/2010 12:09

dizz if you want to spend 2.5 weeks with my parents then you are indeed a brave lassie . I'm guessing they are somewhere over the atlantic about now.

O is still sleeping Been asleep now for 2hr 45 mins . Have been checking him like the paranoid freak good mother I am

Welcome back Ann and good luck in your new home! Scroll down a bit and TS did a nice little update for haziedazie (aka little nut tree)

cyteen · 25/01/2010 13:12

QoD hellooooooooo welcome home, in your new home. Glad it's a bit warmer! Did you have to move through the snow, as it were?

Miamla thinking of you

I am meant to be sitting for a friend's DS while she gets her hair done, they're due any minute so I should probably nip upstairs and have a wee before I have two lively toddlers on my hands instead of one.

Hiya QoD, great news on the sleep and warm fronts eh? Let's hope this new house brings even more good things for 2010.

Ladies, LittleNutTree especially. What do we feel about being paid cash unofficially to mind a friend's child one day a week? I think I was almost offered such an arrangement today after I was telling a friend how I wouldn't get on with OFSTED enough to be a CM. Tell me if it is illegal, immoral, unethical etc or if I should chase her up and make her an offer?

luckoftheirish · 25/01/2010 15:10

welcome qod ..

buckets.. my cm is unoffical.. she is the mum of one of dh's friends.. we have known her for years and i would trust her with my life.. she cannot afford to become legal if you know what i mean??

doesn't help with your current predicement i know but if it works for you/her i wouldn't be telling anyone ... hope thats not going to start an arguement with everyone else (runs to hide in a corner)...
