hotter the muffins came out delicious, thanks for asking And look, they miraculously have zero calories so I shall share them round the thread.

Well done on popping your M1 cherry. I really must get back in touch with my driving instructor next week.

Red we would have a little Ikeasofa to pal about with your Crickhowell

I am off to bed folks - I will see you in the morning more than likely before we go as DD is a 5.30 waker uper and we are mostly organised

Poppy - your post wasn't that long

TS - I am sure that child was reading not being prompted by a push mummy on the sidelines - I will start coaching DD on the plane!

Sazz - hellooooooooooo

Dizzy's bottom just rang my phone. I was a little as why she would be ringing at this hour.

TwilightSurfer · 17/01/2010 22:00

LOL! at the butt calling!!!

pertelote · 17/01/2010 22:01

Just time for a quick hullo and goodnight before the working week begins again. My job share is starting this week (only 8 months after they knew they'd need one )

Glad you have found a worthy owner for Lottie No1 but for you. Hope it helps with things at home though.

Sorry the next baby question is still causing discord for so many. We are sort of the other way round, DH has started talking about DC3, partly to tease me but...

Hullo to all and have a good week until I can get on here again. And of course bon voyage Oops, have a fabulous time!

Yes I know Sazz, not a typo, 2 was previously the plan and I was too when I realised he wasn't entirely joking about 3. I'm one of three and unlike others here not actually that keen to recreate the experience. But We Shall See - it's a long way down the line and though I am a great one for planning ridiculously far ahead I think this is a bit early for a firm decision!

Ikeasofa I just choked and spat wine on the keyboard.
You lot make me laugh a lot.

DH tells me he has spent the afternoon ' in bed reading tit poems'. That would be in order to write about the politics of breastfeeding in 18th century poetry I think while his 21st century wife fends off the ravening hoards below.

a) he is not as funny as he thinks.
b) human progress is a patchy business.

Oops - have a wonderful holiday.

[No1] - for you. I am with Saxzles on the Black Beauty theory. How lovely that Lottie picked up on your emotions.

oopsandbabycoconut · 18/01/2010 06:55

Hi All, Bye All - Am now suitable sure we are being as stupid as everyone thinks with a suitably hyper 16month old and an aeroplace Be safe all of you and don't do anything I wouldn't do!

hotterpotter · 18/01/2010 09:24

Morning all

Didn't get up until 8.30 today but that is after DD getting out of bed at 5, 5.30, 6, 6.30, 7, 7.30 and DS waking up crying somewhere around 3am, he wouldn't settle at all so ended up getting a bottle of milk for DH to give him () but it worked and at least he went back to sleep till half eight.

They are currently rampaging through the house like a pair of tornadoes while I try to summon the energy to make a cup of tea.

oops have a lovely time!

luckoftheirish · 18/01/2010 09:36

hugs hots what a nightmare night..

well my two slept thru for the first time in ages.. dd1 had been to a sleep over at her cousins on sat night so she was asleep by 6.30pm last night .. dd2 also in bed by then but once again no nap in the day .. queue singing and dancing in her cot at 6am!!!

hope you have an amazing time oops and i know your dd will be a dream for you..

right off out to get dd2 some fresh air.. i left the front room to get something from the kitchen came back and she was sitting on the window sill ( which is quite high up.. ooops)

GladioliBuckets · 18/01/2010 09:47

Morning all, McDonalds breakfasts all round.
I had a crap evening yesterday, felt really odd and shy at the burlesque thing and went home at interval, partly because it was my first social since quitting fags (17 days ladies!). When DH came home in the evening I just cried loads and told him how I've kind of lost confidence at the mo worrying about his stress, me getting a job that won't end up costing us money, DD's food issues and me doing so many things but none of them very well, trying so hard to factor in health and money but results of my efforts being unsatisfying and faintly depressing. Have been feeling like Ria in Butterflies this week. I think the book idea has kind of brought it all to a head because I've decided it needs too much headspace which I need for the kids so have shelved it for a few years, but still feel like failure. I also set DH straight on his latest idea of selling up and renting (ie rent being at least twice our mortgage.) So in conclusion, think DH is going to stop making snide remarks about moving or me working and I am going to try and focus on something to do well at, possibly uking. We also decided that we won't let our kids do pointless degrees to fill 3yrs like we did, they are going to get useful skills.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 18/01/2010 10:01

hotter I know how you feel.
Ds woke at around 10pm, didnt get him back upstairs till 11.30. I gave him a diluted bottle of milk. Then have to sit cuddling for an hour till he falls asleep.

DD then woke up and shouted me about 6 times.

She started to tell me stories.
'Mummy, I nipped Marcus on the slide, and you shouted at me and I was frightened, because you made me jump'

I do not recall this event.

'mummy, I love you, does your back hurt, but don't worry Ill look after you'
Bless.

Me: Yes dd I love you, please close your eyes and go to sleep.

For the last three nights she has done very well though, as we decided to stop letting her get in our bed.
Dh was moaning about not getting any sleep with her in with us,but would not do rapid return and listen to the crying.

So I persisted that as we are getting no sleep atm we might as well just go for it.

She has not once asked to get in with us since we started. Although we still have to sit with her when she first goes to bed.

I am proud of her but I am still tired.
We will crack it though I am sure.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 18/01/2010 10:09

X post buckets so sorry to hear how you are feeling, although I am not around you, and we don't see the day to goings on in peoples lives.
You come across as an amazing women, the way you strive to make things better for your family, and always thinking up new ways to achieve this.
I understand how you must have been feeling with the pressure from dh regarding job etc..

I hope he 'gets' it now and some pressure has been lifted from your shoulders.

You do a great job 'working' at home.
That cannot be replaced.IYKWIM

I think you would be an amzing friend to have around too, you cheer me up all the time.
Re the confidence thing, not sure if this is the same thing, but I felt dreadful when I quit smoking, and not because I missed it,but I had no idea wtf to do with my hands.

I realised it was a sort of comfort thing, when I was out fo my comfort zone.

I am not very comfortable being 'looked' at sometimes, and lighting up a cig, sort of made me feel more comfortable/secure.

Not sure I am explaining myself very well sorry.
Very Very well done though 17 days id amazing.

dizzydixies · 18/01/2010 10:10

you absolutely will crack it No1 - am sorry about Lottie but glad your new owner vetting paid off

am knee deep in girls clothing here trying to sort out who has grown out of what and where its all going - some to keep, some to ebay, some to neices some for bin (having been through 3 kids its not worth passing on ) however am sitting looking at some of the stuff and wrangling with my conscience - am considering gettingsomeonewithskills making a blanket/throw out of my favourite sleepsuits etc

is it a waste to put a pair of scissors through them and hold onto a swatch of the cloth
