Albiesmummy - you sound v thin to me . PS - you need to make your profile public so we can see your pics. You can tell I'm nosy!!

albiesmummy · 23/03/2010 20:55

uuum i shall try to be technological!

whensmydayoff · 23/03/2010 20:56

Ok albiesmummy was nice knowing you but you can leave now.

Your not getting into our WW gang. You wouldn't want to anyway, we are very cliche and you wouldn't like us anyway.

Goodbye

"WENT UP TO 10 STONE PREGNANT".
"NOW CURRENTLY 8 STONE"
"IM 5'6"

No, get your things and leave, This computer is not big enough for the two of us.

Ok, Ok, Im only joking, you can join but only on the pretence that you do indead have a baby belly but you better not be lying to us!!!

CTFN Im so glad you would like the role of cutter and paster, Id only f*ck mess it up and have people 2 stone heavier than last week etc.

You better add our new svelt friend then .

Very funny newbeginning re the earthquakes, hardly though. None of us are actually too bad after birth lets face it.

Even when you are as slim as albiesmummy you can still feel rubbish if you suddenly put on more weight than your used to.

Off to watch that programme One born every minute. I will cry then announce that I may have a third after it as I do every week!

albiesmummy · 23/03/2010 21:02

honestly...i've even invested in gok super sliker knickers to contain my bulge...and i cant get in a single pair of pre pregnancy trousers i promise.

MissMarjoribanks · 23/03/2010 22:23

Hello all - long time no post again for me, I do mean to, but then usually get distracted by a crying baby.

Can I join in the weight loss thing? I'd like to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight but the sheer amount of food I stuff down my face makes that hard. For example, as an afternoon snack today I had a yoghurt, a packet of crisps and a cereal bar, when surely the sensible thing would have been to have one of those. But I am constantly ravenous.

I have no idea what I weigh though as the batteries went on my scales about a month ago and I haven't managed to replace them yet. I can buy some more on Thursday in town though. I weighed just over 9st pre-pregnancy (and a size 8-10), went up to just under 11st and had gone back down to about 9st 8oz when the scales gave up. I'm now a 10 on the bottom and nearer a 12 on top mainly due to ginormous bfing boobs and a flabby belly and arms. I'd like to get back to a size 10 all over, excluding boobs for the moment.

Ooooh and more excitingly, DH and I had actual sex last night. First time since October. My fanjo stung a bit this morning when I had a wee, but otherwise no adverse effects so far.

Those who have had teething babies before (or now) - I think Thomas might be starting. He dribbles, prods his cheeks with his hands, his face and forehead feel hot when the rest of him is normal and he is far more grizzly than usual and wants to be held all the time. Oh, and his gums are white in places. Does this sound like teething?

Ali - sending you all best wishes for Jacob. You've really been through it and I really feel for you.

sockmonkey · 24/03/2010 07:44

Well, I just weighed myself....
I was wearing a reeeeaaalllly heavy t-shirt
And DD hasn't woken up for her feed yet & my boobs are veeeeerrrryyy full.... and ... and... :: searches for more excuses ::
10 stone 12. Normally I weigh about 10 stone 2 and in size 10/12 (am 5ft2)Currently wearing size 14s.
I'm going to bake brownies today & I don't care!!! I am hungry all the time therefore my body must neeeeed chocolate all the time

sockmonkey · 24/03/2010 07:47

:: joins WMDO in shoving Albiesmummy off the thread :: :: Realises its quite easy cos she's very light :: hehehehehe.

Will have to get Wii Fit back off SIL, she borrowed it while I was pregnant and couldn't be bothered hula-hooping and pretending to jog around an island. I'd rather excersise more and eat the same. I hate to deny myself

CantThinkofFunnyName · 24/03/2010 08:16

Morning heavyweights or not in the case of Albiesmummy.

Have a horrid morning ahead. First Olivia didn't settle well last night after a feed about 1.30 (she normally goes to around 4 - eek). And I refused to feed her again so kept sticking dummy in her mouth - am soooo tired.

Anyway, have a GP appointment at 9.30 to check my BP as it was high after birth and if still high, will consider putting me on tablets . Plus have a smear test - 3 yearly check. It always freaks me out because I had what they call CIN III in 1995 which is the last stage before full cervical cancer. It was dealt with and I've been OK since but I was on yearly smears at the time and it progressed from zilch to stage 3 in the space of a year. Have been on 3 yearly checks for about 10 years now and still poo my pants every time I'm called for it - just in case! Ah well, am sure everything will be fine just being a drama queen....

Wish me luck (not that I'd find anything out today anyway . x

alibobins · 24/03/2010 09:33

Good luck ctofn
I'm going to docs this morning too. I want to talk to my own gp about Jacob just need some reasurance cos I feel like I'm cracking up I constantly feel sick and don't want to go out the house with him just want to live in my own little bubble

I really should be stick thin with all this stress but it just makes me want to eat.

I was a size 18 pre pregnancy and weighed 14st 3lb am now a size 16 so its going in the right direction.

Don't really know what I want to get down to just want to feel better about my body x x

Very over all you skinny minnies lol

CantThinkofFunnyName · 24/03/2010 10:45

OMG - currently watching recorded programme of One Born Every Minute from last night - the neonatal special. Perhaps its the hormones, perhaps its the over-tiredness but can't stop bawling!!! Bloody programme.

Partyofseven · 24/03/2010 10:51

Hi all

pmsl at wmdo, fyi I am a yummy mummy (not) I weighed 11 st before pg, but because I stopped drinking beer I actually lost weight and stayed at 11st until 34wks and then started to put more on, although I don't know what I weigh now. I am in my pre pg size 12 skinny jeans but the veryyyyyyy unattractive flabby belly that I try to insert into the waist band of my jeans is disgusting.

And I may be a sex maniac and love babies but I only have 5 children the party of seven includes me and dh lol, although party of eight sounds good

Jaffa cakes sound yummmmm, but I will resist and I will buy some scales on Friday and add myself to the list.

Good luck cant x

Well baby scoffer here was weighed yesterday, 8wks old and 12lbs OMG she'll be joining the weigh in soon. She was also very snuffly overnight and vomited all over herself and cot/bedding etc. Very naughty mummy didn't wake up though and only found out at 5.30am. She seems fine now has had feed and nasosal drops and is fast asleep. She has a very spotty ear and cheek on the side she sleeps on, do you think it is just because she was lay in vomit all night . I have bathed it and will keep my eye on it. The gps also f*&ked up her 8wk appt so she didn't get it or her jabs, got to wait till next tuesday now.

Partyofseven · 24/03/2010 10:52

Sorry I'm crap - welcome albiesveryskinnymummy

quirkychick · 24/03/2010 11:24

Welcome albiesmummy

I am not in maternity jeans but in "fat clothes" still ie asda combat trousers I bought after dd1 - elasticated waist. I am 5'7" and a size 14 (I'm not confessing how much I weigh-yikes) usually a size 12 and at skinniest size 11!

I don't think latte (we have yummy coffee machine at home) and brioche really offset the breastfeeding but I notice how much hungrier I am now...

Partyofseven easily done, dd2 woke up covered in poo at 5am the other day, it had certainly been there a while. Was a whole cot wash job

ctfn I watched some of the "one born every minute" too. I was born at Southampton General. We were under the neonatal nurses before being discharged with dd2, I felt so sorry for the couple who had lost a twin. I really understood what the nurse said who talked about couples expecting to come out with perfect babies and being shocked when not.

Partyofseven · 24/03/2010 11:49

Thanks quirky glad its not just me then, although not sure whats worse, vomit/poo covered baby but I can tell you my bub DID NOT smell good this morning. I didn't want to bath her at 5.30 because it was cold and would wake the others up so I just brought her down and wiped her face/neck/head with warm water and cotton wool . She doesn't smell as bad but is still asleep after morning bottle, so bathing will have to wait - hope I don't get any visitors lol.

whensmydayoff · 24/03/2010 13:01

Hi, sockmonkey very funny re your very heavy t-shirt and boobs.
CTFN will pop you on to the list along with any other newbies for next Monday!

Chocolate brownies,

Was thinking about you missmarjory, last nights One Born Every Minute was about prem babies (much more prem than Thomas). Made me realise just how much you all go through . It's nice that Thomas has done so well.

Welcome to Fat Club!

Good Luck CTFN, I know exactly what that butterfly stomach feeling is like.

I had a Malignant Melenoma removed in 2003 and 3 monthly checkups for 3 years.
I was soooo nervous right up to the last ever appointment. Ive been clear for 7 years now .
I get paranoid about everything nowadays though, smears included.
I imagine my moles have grown 2 inches over night too! I bet you are fine but I know you will always doubt it. It makes you appreciate your health so much.

AND yet, Im so shallow and vain and think much more about my bum nowadays!

Partyofseven · 24/03/2010 13:43

Smelly baby cured

Partyofseven · 24/03/2010 14:31

Please read on todays most active a thread called 'ohhh my vagina' it is one of the funniest threads regarding vaginas i've ever read.

jardins · 24/03/2010 14:38

Ooooh can I join in the Monday weigh-in please? What a great idea!

Pre-pregnancy weight was 78.5 kg (although a year previously I was at 75.5 kg (I am 5 ft 11). I am now weighing in at ...... bring in the forklift truck.... 84.7 kg as from this morning. (I second Sockmonkey as I think it's a good idea to climb on the scales AFTER a BIG feed). Pleeeeeaaaase do not use your stone/kg converter: I do not want to know in stone how heavy I am . I think I have just under a stone to lose.

What really gets my goat though is that when I am 100% bf the weight just seems to block completely. I am trying to remain positive though as I have managed to shift 3.5 kg since leaving the hospital 7 weeks ago.

I am so bored with this weight thing although it is all worth it, I guess .

Welcome albiesmummy! Must confess to being a little sceptical after nosily gawping at your photo: you look more than lovely to me

alibobins I'm really thinking about you. I don't know if this helps but DS (now 6) was diagnosed with a heart murmur at birth, which broke my heart (no pun intended) but after two appointments with the cardiologist it had healed itself and he's been great every since.

OK guys, can somebody clarify the ovulation and full-time breastfeeding thing? After the first month of bleeding I have had nothing at all. What I mean is that I haven't had a period. BUT my DH confessed to me the other day that he was not entirely careful when we had sex five weeks after birth . In his defence he thought it was all perfectly safe.... ok, that's not good enough. What I'm trying to say is.... oh christ, could I be pregnant? I don't think so really being an old bird of 41 but I can't help asking..... (hysterical sobs) This is all very embarrassing: I feel like a teenager all over again. I vaguely remember not getting a period for months whilst bf my last 2 DC.

Oh LORD!!!!

whensmydayoff · 24/03/2010 15:55

JARDINS PANIC NOT, I BF DS for 5 months and didn't get my period until 7 months

mama2moo · 24/03/2010 17:40

Monday weigh in for me as well please! I was 12st 8 before having dd1. Now 15st 8 after dd2. I am 5ft 10 so happy to be 13 stone.

I must step away from cookies, cakes, fish and chips, chinese and all other food that tastes nice.

If you are breast feeding can you diet??

Newbeginning1 · 24/03/2010 18:19

mmb - it sounds like teething to me. It's such a joy isn't it?!

sockmonkey - You do make me laugh. I make sure that I have been to the loo, i've taken off all clothes and accessories, i've brushed my teeth and if i thought cleaning my ears would help me shift any weight I would do it so these excuses are all yours from now on!! I'm sure that the force of my saggy boobs adds on a good couple of lbs if not a stone!

CTOFN - how did it go at the drs? My Mum has recently had abnormal smears and it's always so nerve wracking. I've never had one because i'm not old enough but I really think it's something where the age should be lowered. Maybe that should be my new campaign whilst on maternity leave By the way, you're not alone about One Born Every Minute, i was nearly in tears whilst I was expressing yesterday but i'm sure it helped me get more milk out

Ali - how did it go at the drs? I get what you're saying about not wanting to go out, it's a bit like if you don't have to go out and face people and the world maybe everything will go away and you can deal with it later. Did the dr recommend anyone you could speak to about everything because you're going through a lot and especially with your hormones after being pregnant. The only other thing you could do is try some AD's and I know some people don't agree with them but since I've started mine on a low dose and I've been seeing someone about it I feel like a cloud has lifted and I'm enjoying my baby boy now. Yes, I still have the days when I really can't be bothered to see people or do anything and I just want to crawl under my duvet but there aren't as many bad days and my situation is nowhere near as bad as yours. I hope i've not offended you by saying this, I just want you to know there is support there if you want it.

Jardins - just out of interest, when your DH has said he wasn't entirely careful what exactly does he mean because I don't seem to remember it being something you can be partly careful with?

I took Jack swimming today for the 1st time and he really enjoyed it. We are both exhausted and he has slept pretty much all day so I've decided that next time I want some Mummy time i'm going to take him swimming so I can enjoy some peace for the rest of the day. I hope he sleeps tonight though

whensmydayoff · 24/03/2010 18:19

Oh no, where is CTFN there's so many names to add now and Im cooking tea just now - HELP.

After dinner, baths, toy disposal, chasing hyper toddler, feeding screamy baby and settling both by 7

I need to have a good scroll back over everyone.

ali you sound really stressed what a shame. You do need more support from Docs I think. Hope you feel better after seeing him/her. x

CantThinkofFunnyName · 24/03/2010 19:45

So - had my smear and BP check. BP high on the first try but then came down on 2nd and 3rd attempt which nurse was reasonably happy with - so the pills are on the backburner for now .

NB you really should push for smears you know. I started having smears when I was 18. I had one every year from then on. First result was always "abnormal cells" followed by a re-test that always came back "satisfactory". Until I reached the age of about 23 when I had complained to the GP that surely it couldn't be right to keep having the same thing year on year. He referred me to a consultant. The appointment came through for in 6 months time. I decided to pay for a private consultant appointment and trust me, at that age, I really did eat beans on toast for about 3 weeks to pay for it (I kid you not, no exaggeration). Thank god I did though because at that consultant appointment, a mere week after my appointment with the GP, he found CIN III. I was then treated on the NHS a couple of weeks later. If I had waited for my initial consultation on the NHS some 6 months down the line, I would have either had full blown cervical cancer, or worse still, not actually be around.

Sorry - all a little doom and gloom but it really is bollocks that they tell people they are too young. The deal used to be that as soon as you started sexual activity, you qualified for a smear. You have a child FGS!

Also - very interested in this swimming you speak of. Note to self, time to explore baby swimming lessons for Olivia although that means me getting into a cossie .

Party - I'm searching for that thread and can't find it!! Need to find something amusing tonight as DH watching Spurs on TV!

albiesmummy · 24/03/2010 20:14

yes swimming sounds like a good idea...however i need to research and invest in some retro styled swimwear...that way i deliberatly look like im hiding my belly (and stretch marks)whilst maintainig some semblence of style....still a bit too scared at the mo though. CTFN glad everything went well and you're right about smears, as soon as i'm painfree from the birth i'll get there.

newbeggining how old are you out of interest ( i know a lady should never tell...sorry) but i'm too young to be called for smears too so thought we may be around same age range. i dont find a lot of mums my age so would be nice to chat.

jardins...i have already done three pregnancy tests this month to be sure. Stupidly got ragingly amorous with hubby 2 weeks ago ( i was tipsy and had to take a life threatening dose of painkillers afterwards hence the one and only time since ds)...but thank goodness no baby on the way...i need at least a couple of years off to fel normal, had a miscarriage 1 month before getting pregnant with ds so feel like my body has been a bit abused.
