Sept 08: last year they were cute little bundles that smelt of milk and vanilla, but now they've been replaced with a babyzilla!

No plans for another here either...feel very lucky Toby is here so am happy (albeit knackered!)

Got another viewing here tomorrow....still dont know ehat the hell we are doing...ho hum

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/03/2010 13:11

Good luck with the viewing Bec. To recap,is the problem the houses you are looking at are not big enough and you don't want to extend because it's a pita?

I have put a picture of M on my profile that was taken at 18mo. He's doing something a bit odd with his bottom lip - he doesn't look like that all of the time - honest.

I'm thinking of giving up with the reins. M is a nightmare on them. It's like trying to walk an unruly dog on a lead .

I always cry watching OBEM. Two of the women I work with had their babies at Princess Anne.

The dc's had a nursery parents evening on monday. I was the only parent to make an appointment for their baby . They had taken lots of photos for DD's record book so it was lovely to go through it.

DS has developed some scary allgergic reactions in the last few days. On sunday he had a pine nut (which he's had before) and blew up in hives, had a nose bleed and was itching all over his face so I had to take him to hospital. Then on monday he had a kiwi fruit and the same thing happened. He had his pre-school booster jabs last thursday and I wonder if his immune system is playing up. The gp is referring us to the hospital and I have to collect a couple of epi-pens later today. Its bloody scary TBH. He's has eczema in the past, but not full on face swelling and hives . Hope it's just a temporary reaction .

DastardlyandSmugly · 24/03/2010 14:34

Meglet how scary for you. Hope it's just a temporary thing.

BTW I always go up to nursery open days. They are v. popular at my nursery though and really really good.

lollipopmother · 24/03/2010 14:38

Meglet Jesus, that sounds seriously scary, could it just be a one off or did they say it's unlikely?

Haha ILTMI, is that a mud pie he's eaten!?

lollipopmother · 24/03/2010 14:39

Becaroo Toby looks so similar to Thomas when he was young doesn't he - freaky tan Toby has though, haha!

Debs75 · 24/03/2010 17:00

Have put some more pics of Robyn up.

becaroo · 24/03/2010 18:13

lolli hiya > Yes they are really alike apart from Toby having darker eyes....I swear when he was a baby he was bright orange!!! People must have thought I had been putting him on a sunbed

meglet Fingers crossed its not serious x
ILTMIMI "To recap,is the problem the houses you are looking at are not big enough and you don't want to extend because it's a pita?" You said it exactly!!!

Toby is 18 months old tomorrow...how did that happen???? >>>>

Book-marking! Been absent for a few weeks but hoping to catch up on everyone's gossip.

Am super busy with freelancing. Got a new childminder lined up and mum's house has gone on the rental Market so she can move into ours and hopefully do most of the childcare once she's paid off some of her debts. DS is calling her 'mum' as well as me!

Got a bfp yesterday - d&s (sunshine?) please don't say anything to our mutual friend just yet. Am worried it might go the same way as last year and also am concerned that it will affect people's decision to hire me as a freelancer/offer me a longer term contract.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/03/2010 14:13

Lovely to see you Digi, and lovely to hear about the bfp

Bec - it sounds like a compromise is in order. Sometimes you can't have everything(more's the pity) and you have to decide what is most important to you and what you are willing to compromise. I am not saying this from a position of virtue, but from experience with our mega extension

Yes he does love the mud lolli . We've fenced off our garden so M can't get out and is safe and he loves it. I can potter around in the kitchen and get things done and he scrabbles around in the dirt!

Huge congrats digi, what wonderful news.

Ds is 18m today so I'll try and remember to take a photo!

Just had a lovely skype with dh - its 7:30am in Mexico so he's just got up!

meglet how scarey.

I've never got reins to work with either of my dcs, but quite surprisingly they're happy to walk holding on to the buggy/supermarket trolley.

Dmum is here for the week helping us out. TV still broken so I'm gonna surrender the PC now to dd so she can watch mr tumble on iplayer.

becaroo · 25/03/2010 14:50

Congrats digi Lovely news.

Happy 18 month birthday today to Toby and carrie's ds xx

ILTMIMI I think you are right re: compromise...but it always seems to be me whos doing it IYSWIM???? Also, a house we both really like the look of but was out of our price range just got reduced!!! Viewing today cancelled but got another on tuesday.

Cant believe its easter next week.....chocolate..mmmmmmmm

becaroo · 25/03/2010 14:52

...I realise that for some Easter is celebrating Christ's rising from the tomb and ascending in to heaven but I am afraid for me (a good catholic girl to boot!!) its always been about the chocolate...sorry!!!

DastardlyandSmugly · 25/03/2010 16:10

Digi congrats, that's wonderful. I definitely won't say anything but do you know that she is also due with number 2 in September?

digitalgirl · 25/03/2010 16:26

D&S I heard today! I'm actually working in her office on and off over the next few weeks so will have to go and rub her bump for good luck!
So sorry to hear about your schools place fiasco, that's flipping outrageous.

DastardlyandSmugly · 25/03/2010 16:45

It's quite big surprisingly - she's really popped out!

Am so about the whole schools place thing and really really worried about it. I rang the admissions officer at our local school and she was really positive about our chances of getting an offer at some point, but she also told me she's not strictly allowed to speak to parents as the council like to 'manage' the process!

I also spoke to the council and one thing that is really getting my goat is the way the waiting lists are administered. So apparently anyone who has been offered a place at a school that was not their first preference can accept that place but also ask to be put on the waiting list for schools higher up on their preference list. These people, go onto the waiting list based purely on distance so, even though they already have a school place and DS doesn't, they can be higher up the waiting list than he can. Surely priority should be given to those children who currently have a place nowhere!

Meglet · 25/03/2010 21:36

just checking my name is back to normal...

Meglet · 25/03/2010 21:38

ah, good, it is

congrats dg.

LOL becaroo. That reminds me, I haven't had any cadburys mini eggs yet this year . I'm usually mainlining them by now.

CappuccinoCarrie · 25/03/2010 22:35

bec I believe that Easter is the celebration of Christ dying for our sins and conquering death by coming back to life. But what better way to celebrate that than with a whole lotta chocolate?!! Mmmmmm Easter eggs

mamamuffin · 26/03/2010 07:52

Bookmark. Gosh you lot talk! lol

I am loving chocolate eggs too. Lots of them. Congrats on the bfp dig

Hi ho, its off to work I go. Have a good day xxx

ITS FRIDAY

becaroo · 26/03/2010 09:41

carrie Yeah, thats it! I am planning an easter egg hunt this year for the kids - if I can stop dh from eating the eggs

Debs75 · 26/03/2010 10:13

Digi congratulations when are you due?
They have told me anytime between 22/07 and 3/09 Will find out more on the first when I have my scan.

DS came home with 2 easter eggs yesterday so has had a chocolate overload. It's his last day of school today so here comes 2 weeks of chaos. Lovely

ninja · 26/03/2010 10:47

M was 18 months on Tuesday (and I went to a conference and talked about maths alot to celebrate ).

I'm very proud that she's starting to learn to peddle a tricycle.

I was going to come and boast some more but I have to confess to bad mother of the year award as my poor baby has a horrible burn on her thumb from my hair straighteners . I think she pulled my hairdryer down which also pulled the straightners down (as I'm careful to keep the leads out of the way). I've put some nails up now to hang them on.

I feel awful as there's a blister on her thumb and I know how painful a burn can be. I put it in water for as long as I can and have given her loads of chocolate to make me her feel better

ninja · 26/03/2010 10:47

oh and congradts digi that's great!

ninja · 26/03/2010 10:51

and I'm worried about what h will say
